@wigglyicecream@wisewitch222 I’m annoyed about it. Luckily they were on sale so I didn’t spend much. One of the pairs is okay just not great. I honestly maybe should have just ordered the L instead of M but I usually wear M. But I’ve also never had maternity yoga pants so are there any that are that comfortable? I just don’t know.
@wigglyicecream Leggings are skin tight and you wear them under stuff. Yoga pants are pants in their own right. They are still tight, but the material is thicker I guess and you can't see all the lines around your nether regions like you can with leggings which necessitate a dress or tunic. Yoga pants can also be in different cuts. Mine are boot cut cause they're old, but I've seen jogger ones.
@wigglyicecream I have straight leg yoga pants but they’re thick and I can wear them without covering my butt and feel comfortable in public. Typically leggings are stretchier but more shear and I’d only wear them at home or if in public, covering my butt.
As an aside, I love the maternity joggers that they sell at Target. I live in them at home and for running errands until it’s too hot and I need shorts.
Also, I think it’s hard to find because I bought mine at least five years ago, but if you can find a tank rash guard, that’s my solution for two pieces and baby bumps. And two pieces and chasing boys on the beach. Mine is Rip Curl but maybe you can find something similar?
Bought some old navy low panel maternity pants on Thread up, they work, but I'm still trying to get used to the looser feeling around my actual waist, I keep thinking they're gonna fall down even though they actually fit well. Will say I would not have paid full price for them.
I'm still fully wfh so unless I'm going out I've been living in pj pants but even before getting pregnant I love those boho flair leg pants, they're so comfy on my stomach and stretchy, planning on buying more.
FYI Gap is having an awesome sale right now. I just got 3 pairs of shorts, a pair of joggers, 2 shirts, a dress, and a tankini for $40

after ordering a huge order from shein on the 15th of January, I finally got it the other day! So far, everything looks/feels really good. I word some leggings yesterday and really liked them, though I don't have a big enough belly to justify the over-the-belly part but it was comfy. The tops are good. I got super simple tees but oversized because I feel so bloated all the time. Everything was super cheap which is fantastic but it's all pretty good quality!
I signed up for Stitch Fix subscription and selected Maternity. They sent me some super cute maternity jeans and a blouse. I'm usually a bargain shopper so paying full price for anything is new to me. But the quality of everything I got was great and every blouse felt so soft. I hate shopping and trying on clothes so it works for me. For bras I recommend Soma Intimates. I got their Enbliss bralette and I never want to take it off. I literally kept it on for 3 days straight. It's so soft and unlike other bralettes it actually has nipple coverage. I sized up for comfort but if you order according to size chart it will have more support.
@starkette ooh, share more about your Shein order if you’re up for it! I’ve been so curious and have loaded my cart multiple times but never ordered. How was the sizing?
@aukeev I ordered a bunch of maternity dresses from Shein recently and I was shockingly pleased! I feel like they run a bit large, so if you’re in between I might would size down. I had one not fit, but everything else worked for me. Price wound up coming out to about $10 per dress. This will be my last pregnancy so I’m fine with spending less for clothes that might not hold up quite as well
@tmartin014 That's good to know! I assumed the sizing would run small, so I'm glad you said that. I also don't care about super high-quality maternity pieces. This may be our last, but even if not I'll likely want different styles/seasons in the future.
Sharing a couple maternity dresses that arrived from Amazon today, that I am super excited about! 🥰 Lots of color and pattern options and only $25-29, yet durably made.
Dress 1 Review: It feels like it will stretch a lotttt, and is nice and soft (I can only speak for the ribbed material!) I wanted a dress like that for months 8-9! I sized up to medium and definitely didn’t need to-kinda roomy, but will like having that room when some of my other maternity clothes will be too small. It seems like the type of dress that will fit to any body type. It falls just past my knees at 5’ 3”.
Dress 2 Review: I’m excited to wear the second in summer especially!! It is not a thin fabric, but I don’t think it will get too warm. I’m just glad it’s not going to be see through! It’s about knee length on me/just above, so I won’t feel the need to wear anything under it and it has enough length to inch up a bit when the bump grows. I AM glad I sized up to a medium in this one, because the chest is not super roomy. It fits super nicely though and is cut well for a bump. If you like pockets, it has them. Both will be cute postpartum too!
@buffythevampireslayer I have the Storq overalls and I love them! I like how they look now with not much of anything and love they can continue to grow and wear postpartum!
@lmaplejc I love Kindred Bravely. I have a couple pairs of their leggings and they truly do work for 8 months pregnant and nursing and postpartum a year after baby and everything in between. I just ordered the bike shorts and a pair of joggers.
Anybody have any maternity leggings they love that don’t break the bank? My regular leggings are high waisted and my belly is just too big for them now. Ordered some from Old Navy and wasn’t impressed
@tmartin014 I like the ones at Kindred Bravely the best. The Motherhood ones were kind of thin and saggy for me. I like Blanqi but the material snags really easily so you have to be careful and I don’t like the ones they say are bump and postpartum friendly… they feel too tight on a bump for me. My Kindred Bravely ones are supportive but not compression and they help flatten things and smooth them after baby. And the material is comfy but doesn’t snag like the Blanqi ones.
@tmartin014 I just grabbed a pair of leggings from good old Walmart. I will wear them tomorrow and let you know what I think. I have several from motherhood but depending on the material determines for me at least if they are saggy in the crotch or not. It’s super frustrating for me that almost no stores have a maternity section anymore
Here's my new jeans review: Got some jeans over the weekend at Kohls and Target! Target had a wider selection in store, but I was immediately sold on the pair from Kohls as soon as I put them on (wearing them at work today, and so comfortable - a bit long though). I'm a fan of the over the belly instead of the side panels. I had on a pair with side panels from Target, and they were actually very flattering on, but I definitely would have needed a belt to sit down with them on.
Ooh good to know on Kohl’s. I’m heading to a flooring store this afternoon and there’s a Kohl’s in the same shopping center so maybe I’ll pop in and see what they’ve got!
While we’re on the topic of kohl’s, a while back I mentioned I got some full belly leggings from kohl’s. They’re the Sonoma brand ones and are really just ok. They're cotton and soft, and I followed the advice of reviews online and sized up. I shouldn’t have. They stretch out easily. For lounging at home, they’re super comfy but the crotch is starting to pill so I don’t know how long I’ll be able to wear them outside the house without them looking old.
I bought a pair of the Spacedye maternity leggings from Beyond Yoga after a friend’s recommendation. Pricey but sooo comfortable, and the fabric feels really durable.
I just ordered a ton of stuff from Shein. Hopefully it works out! For $175 (after tax) I got two pairs of jeans, four tops, three nursing bras, four dresses, a pair of bike shorts for under dresses and two swimsuits.
