I just ordered some shorts, a pair of leggings and a bathing suit from Shein. I shall report back once the order is here. I can’t bring myself to spend a lot on maternity stuff even if it’s high quality since I know this is my last baby.
Also not sure if I ever reported back on the Walmart leggings. The belly panel was huge but I think they might be comfy for later in pregnancy. Not happy but not upset by the purchase. I would suggest sizing down if you go that route.
On another note, I tried on my maternity jeans and 😂 they were too tight. I’m not that much heavier that I was when pregnant with DD but apparently my hips spread and never went back down 🤷🏻♀️ I’m about to do a huge purge and donate whatever I haven’t worn since DD was born since I doubt I’ll be that shape and size again
Target: Bella band hoping to extend the time I can wear some of my regular pants. Tank tops and 1 pair of pants. I got super frustrated since they would ship the crossover panel pants I wanted so I ordered a pair of I have no idea what they are sweat pants or real pants🤷♀️
Ordered some maternity nursing bras off of Amazon.
@danielled100394 I tend to wear maternity vnecks when I'm pregnant. My hospital is ok about the vnecks or tee shirts. @sarahdaley11 is also a nurse and expecting twins.
So been trying to find some good maternity bras. I'm currently wearing what is technically a sports bra until I could find a decent maternity one. However, being on the bustier side I've been finding it a bit of a challenge. I'd prefer no underwire but will settle if it is comfortable enough. I'd also like to not pay $20+ for a single bra if at all possible.
Any busty ladies out there with any recommendations?
@regalmommy1 I’m very busty, and even more so during pregnancy, and have found that it’s very hard to find good bras for busty women that aren’t expensive. It’s also hard to find a sports bra that really supported me that didn’t have an underwire. My favorite sports bra is by a company called panache:
Because you can purchase by cup size. They also last a very long time. But I’m curious if others out there have found sports bras for busty women less than $20 that are good because I will FOR SURE buy one.
Disclaimer: I’m a small person. Every size can be a blessing and a curse when it comes to bras, lol. I saved this one because a mom recommended it as comfortable for pregnancy.
Note: It’s not advertised as maternity, so that’s why it’s $8-15. I doubt you could get a bra as good for cheaper. I did buy it and it seems nice enough.
It says “push-up,” however I would consider it more minimal in that sense. It has some minimal padding and a little support. No underwire. I think you should size up in the band one above your normal size. I’m going to get extenders so I don’t have to return. The sizes only go up to DD and is hit/miss on availability.
Some reviewers indicate it’s good for bigger chests. You may just want to read reviews and see if it’s worth a try. With Amazon, you never know if there will be variations in size or quality between the different colors and sometimes reviews reflect that.
@regalmommy1 I am large chested and all of my maternity/nursing bras are from target. They are comfy and do the trick. None of them are close to non-maternity bras support-wise, but they keep things in place and I live in the bras below.
Apologies in advance for the bulky links but...
This is the sports bra I have and use for being active: https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-nursing-yoga-bra-auden-8482-heather-gray-s/-/A-54179004?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000014846111&CPNG=PLA_Women%2BShopping_Brand%7CWomen_Ecomm_AA&adgroup=SC_Women&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9006936&targetid=pla-300925489891&ds_rl=1241788&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=Cj0KCQiAmeKQBhDvARIsAHJ7mF54-QFd6ksFVMcaHjv3Gym6cCp9yhTPZqmYqvXTCDSUUc7VqHFwx04aAtSuEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
These are my lounging around/sleeping bras (I can't believe how comfy these are and 2 for $19.99) https://www.target.com/p/women-s-nursing-2pk-pull-over-seamless-sleep-bra-auden-8482-black-soft-petal-pink-s/-/A-54174609?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000014846111&CPNG=PLA_Women%2BShopping_Brand%7CWomen_Ecomm_AA&adgroup=SC_Women&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9006936&targetid=pla-300925489891&ds_rl=1241788&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=Cj0KCQiAmeKQBhDvARIsAHJ7mF5TZlHFPbe7GQmIE6Wj9LjOPX48T5sOPtuVW_PIaolYWu5nDUTo3x4aArqcEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
And these are the regular everyday bras I wear: https://www.target.com/p/bravado-basics-double-layer-seamless-maternity-and-nursing-bra/-/A-78367529?preselect=80898503#lnk=sametab
@regalmommy1 so I bought these. They were delivered yesterday and I tried one on. Felt comfortable, shape with shirt on was normal , stretchy material that should stretch with growth and came with back strap extensions for the band. They are wireless and I would say moderate support. I don't know how busty you are but for comparison I'm typically a C but no longer fitting well in my C cup bras.
Got my old navy leggings. 10/10 recommend. Not see through, light compression and they were on sale for $9! now $15.99 with an extra 30% off. Washing them now so I can wear them
I don't know if anyone has brought up this brand but I've found the absolute perfect maternity jeans. They are a little pricey BUT worth it. I have 3 pairs in different colors and that's all I'm going to need all pregnancy, I think.
I got my first pair through Stitch Fix (which can do maternity as well) and loved them so much I went directly to the brand and bought two more pairs. They're called Butter Denim by 1822 Jeans. They're about $60/pair but they offer afterpay which I did.
I caved and got them because I pulled out all my old maternity clothes and the jeans were so stiff and baggy around the crotch. After having one comfy, soft, perfect pair I couldn't go back to the old ones. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I got my normal non-maternity size and they are perfect. Stretchy and form fitting. So soft. I'll definitely wear them post partum too.
You might be ~4 months pregnant when you come home from Sam's Club with 4 new pairs of your favorite leggings ($10 each), including a pair of denim leggings that I put on immediately.
Excuse me while I throw up. I committed to the Abercrombie maternity pants - $83 later. I’ll keep y’all updated. Standard shipping is estimated 3/15 🙄🙄
The only maternity underwear I’ve ever found to be comfortable are the ones from Kindred Bravely, but they are kind of expensive. This past week, I ordered a haul of random stuff from Old Navy and Gap (yay for adorable $6 jammies for my daughter!) and I was pleasantly surprised today when I tried on their maternity underwear! We’ll see how they hold up, but so far, I’m a fan.
@mdfarmchick I’ve been putting it off for a while, going back and forth between two sizes and then they sold out. Ive checked daily and they just stocked the “short” in the bigger size I was going for… so we’ll see!
@twizzleraddict1 same until an influencer shared them. I’ve never shopped at Abercrombie but they seem very well made, so I’m interested. I always hate on maternity jeans that the belly band and the waist are awkwardly sewn together and the crotch is weird. On these I just found, the belly sits behind the waistband, giving them at least a fake button, the option to wear a belt, and allowing you to half tuck in your shirt if you want to be fashionable, which I’m not. Lol I got the dark wash skinny, I’ll link them. https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/us/p/maternity-ultra-high-rise-ankle-straight-jeans-46802336?seq=02&faceout=model1
@dimeadozen they look cute! Cuter than I expected lol. Def let us know what you think when they arrive.
I had a few pair of maternity jeans last pregnancy, I bought them at kohl’s, I forget the brand. I ended up basically living in leggings lol but I feel like maybe some day I will feel like dressing cute again. Maybe.
I clearly need to order more pants because I just nearly had a meltdown when I couldn’t find the one pair of pants that fit me right now (the Levi’s baby bump). Also probably need to order some underwear so I’ll check out the Old Navy/Gap ones @twizzleraddict1
@twizzleraddict1 explain the maternity underwear hype for me. I never understood that one but I’ve also never bought a pair 😂 I mainly plan to live in shorts since it’s so hot here but I need a pair for church and if we go out to eat with friends or so so that’s why I’m ok with only one pair for now. First pregnancy I bought old navy and liked those. This pregnancy I bought some from target. Maybe I got the wrong size because they're BAGGY. I mean if I put my phone in my pocket they literally slide off.
I did catch that pajama sale! They never have sales on pajamas. DD1 was sizing up so I bought her 7 new pair lol I saved $31 on them. I was pretty excited.
@itsme215 I found the maternity jeans at Old Navy to be nice, you could try there while you’re looking for underwear.
@dimeadozen I guess maybe it depends on body types because some of my friends have told me they sized up a bit during pregnancy but never actually wore maternity underwear but I honestly cannot imagine wearing anything other than maternity underwear during pregnancy!! Regular underwear hit right on my growing bump and it feels like they need to either be above or below! Personally, I prefer the kind that goes above the bump and are totally full coverage, but if you’re trying at all to be sexy they are definitely not the way to go lol. But if you’re just going for comfy, they are great. I didn’t really have all that much time between the postpartum period and getting pregnant again, so I actually continued to wear my kindred bravely maternity underwear haha.
I also thought the maternity jeans from Target were awful! I returned them. But the maternity leggings from target, on the other hand, are my FAVORITE. They honestly feel like the lulu align, imo.
@dimeadozen I'm with you on the maternity underwear. I've never not been able to wear my normal underwear. I have one pair of "tummy control" underwear that I've had to stop wearing during pregnancy for obvious reasons, but all my others fit the whole way through. Just normal Aerie mediums.
Confession: I haven't bought any maternity clothing because I'm plus size and it's hard to shop online for plus size clothing to begin with, and most stores don't typically carry my size. Very frustrating.
That’s so frustrating @bridgiebee82, I know that some companies have tried to start carrying bigger sizes in store but they really need to up their game when it comes to maternity clothes, bigger girls have babies too and most of them probably don’t want to wear mumus. I think there’s an assumption that plus size women don’t get bumps or something 🙄

@bridgiebee82 Same, it’s been so frustrating! Even old navy which has done awesome things with plus size clothes doesn’t have plus size maternity I got one thing from storq which goes up to 3x or 4x. It is really nice but pricey and they mostly have only basics. I also got a few things from motherhood maternity but basically just t-shirts
@bridgiebee82 maternity wear, especially plus size is such an underserved market in stores. There are tons of pregnant women always looking for clothes so I don’t understand why there aren’t options in store. I like seeing a fit of something. Instead we have to go through the annoying process of guessing then reselling or returning
@dimeadozen I completely feel you on the need for the store. I'm lucky I got all my maternity clothes with #1 when Motherhood was still a store and they fit me for a nursing bra and everything. Most of those clothes (and bras) held up, but this time I've only bought a couple things from motherhood.com where it's like a shirt and I know my regular size will fit, or Target where they have stuff in store.
@dimeadozen@wisewitch222 ugh I totally agree about having more in store options!! My old navy/gap haul had some winners last week, but there were also plenty of losers and I can’t even return the gap items in the store since they are maternity, I have to go to the post office to send it back - major pain 🙄 there were maternity leggings that were on sale (plus promo code!) that came out to less than $6 (!!), I so badly wanted to love them but they just didn’t fit.
@bridgiebee82@pastabilities I was ordering a few things tonight from my fav site, Pinkblush Maternity, and I noticed that they have plus size maternity so thought I’d pass it along! I have a lot of their dresses and a few other items and I really like them a lot.
@starkette I loved them before pregnancy, but now I'm finding that I don't want to squeeze into any of my workout pants, so I decided to stock up on these. The best part is that they have side pockets for you phone! The denim jegging ones were just an added bonus find, plus I think I'm able to wear them to work as long as I'm not planning to do much lab work. They at least look enough like real jeans that I don't think anyone will question it.
***SALE*** I’m finding a lot of “Motherhood” clothes are on sale on Target’s app. I attempted to use the spoiler on the app. Not perfect but cuts out the bulky links 🙃
@mdfarmchick thanks for the tip! I’ve been stalking their site but hate to commit. I have plenty money to spend, but HATE spending it on (expensive) clothes.
