    You and the bump look fabulous! Warning: I found that my heartburn was the WORST in the 3rd tri!! I think because your stomach is so squished that it becomes easier for the acid to come up (I guess?). It seemed like I could get heartburn by just LOOKING at food! I still can't believe twin girls!! And you were worried you lost your chance at girls :smiley:  But I think your clothing budget will not be so happy especially as they get older and more picky lol.

    @Hopeful_mom
    Yay for viability!!

    @Kp214
    I know each disappointment can be so crushing. I wish I had comforting words for you other than this thing is just crap. I had my heart broken so many times during the first part of our journey that I just stopped feeling anything so I wouldn't get hurt again. I don't think it ever gets easier -- I was just talking with my therapist the other day about how I can move forward from the trauma of my journey  -even though- I had success.

    AFM
    I'm actually in the hospital right now! My scheduled c-section was next Thurs but at my MFM appointment on Thurs my BP was super high so he had me admitted. We really wanted to try to keep baby in for as long as possible with just monitoring (labs, baby, me) which seemed to be working -- but when the MFM came by this morning, he said my last labs were starting to trend upward so since baby has had all of the steroid shots and is doing well right now, he'd rather just take her now than later (which worked well with DD). So since I'm technically still 'scheduled' not quite emergency and they officially want 6 hours no food before the c-section, I have to wait until this afternoon because I ate breakfast when they brought it by (no one said not to eat!!)!!! And I'm on the mag drip now which is loooooovely. We can only have two visitors at a time; my parents arrived on Thurs so they are watching DD most of the time with DH in here with me. I've facetimed with DD but I don't want her to come into the hospital right now because I think it would really scare her with all the IV's and monitoring stuff. DH told her the baby would be born today and took her out for a special pancake breakfast (her favorite). She's pretty excited although that might just be because my parents brought her presents lol. So just a few more hours hopefully...

  • @lmajin99 thank you so much friend, I really appreciate it.

    @kp214 I am so so sorry to hear this.  I know how heartbreaking this is for you.  Right now, the only thing you need to do is take the time to grieve.  But I understand the desire to jump right into the next step as I did the same thing.  I did a random search on google and came across Santa Monica Fertility which has a large selection of Asian egg donors, including Korean.  Im sure Donor Egg bank also has a selection of Korean/American egg donors.  Don't give up hope.  I found that talking to a therapist was really helpful when I had to make the jump from OE to DE, its a huge loss that you need to grieve and process.  I also found some books helpful "three makes baby".  and some awesome instagram accounts on moms who used donor eggs.  A few to follow on Insta are ExpectingAnything, dani_repsch, and defining mum.  Their stories have really helped me to process this and ok with our choice.

    @mbradfo2 So happy for you girl. Enjoy all the cuddles.  I hope you are starting to feel better and get to go home soon.

    We saw our MFM today and the girls are looking good.  Baby A has an ASD (atrial septal defect) but those often close at birth, so no one is super concerned.  If it looks worrisome as we go along, they will send me to a Pediatric Cardiologist, but im not stressed.  They are weighing 12 oz and 14 oz.  The acardiac fetus is measuring at 12% the size of the girls.  All 3 MFM got together to discuss me and they think things are so stable they are gonna go back to every 2 weeks monitoring rather than weekly.  Im ok with this as I feel safe and supported.  Im just about to hit 21 weeks.  Belly is growing! Starting to feel little kicks here and there, I cant wait till its more consistent.

    @andreamm31 thank you. I am going to contact one of the fertility counselors my RE recommended. Thanks for the checking for me. That means a lot. So happy things are looking good for you. That is awesome that you can feel little kicks!

    I’ve registered with several egg banks and it’s hard to find someone to meet most of the criteria we’re looking for. DH keeps telling me that I need to take time to think about what I want, donor or just call it quits. I explained to him that I think about it all day. While I want another child, I don’t know if I want to hope back on the infertility roller coaster.

    @mbradfo2 congratulations!! How exciting your precious lil girl is here!  So happy for you all!  Sounds like things went pretty smoothly this time around!  Hoping you had something fabulous to eat and are getting some much needed rest!!

    @andreamm31 omg how adorable do you look, such a cute bump  <3<3<3<3 my first pregnancy I did one every week after week 15, I laugh how now I still haven't taken another one yet...I just don't know where the day goes to!  Thanks for the wishes, luckily my sweets has been in great spirits!  Everyone keeps saying it takes a year to build immunity up and that terrifys me...come on!!  Just another thing to worry about.  Love that you're starting to feel some fun in that belly!  I can only imagine what is in store with those 2, I imagine you'll start to get some good laughs from them.  I'm surprised at some of the tickles I've been getting lately.  Dr actually measured my belly today...so I feel like now we'll start the process.  One more 4 week break till my next visit since I have MFM in between and then I'll be at every 2 weeks...looking forward to more great updates on your girls...and precious names too!
    Also wanted to add the one thing that’s remotely helped all the burning on my end is pantiprazole, glad you’re finally getting some relief!

    @kp214 sending you so mnay hugs friend, I'm sorry this process isn't turning out as planned BUT love that you're looking ahead too.  I think you've been given some great direction on where you can look when you feel ready, and it sounds like you've taken some steps already...who knows how long the wait might be so very smart for reaching out to a few.  You got this mama!

    @Imajin99 thinking of you, how are you doing?

    Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!!  1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.

    Chemical pregnancy
    FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN

  • @kp214. That is totally understandable.  And Im sure with the holidays, all your plans for moving forward are likely going in slow motion.  Hopefully you have a plan and things are in motion for you soon.

    @Hopeful_mom. Ive been terrible taking pics.  But at least I have a few.  I am just in relaxing clothes most of my days and don't feel like getting dolled up for a pic because lord knows I need makeup on for these pics haha

    @lmajin99. Thinking of you friend. Im so happy you had a wonderful trip and got to enjoy yourself, you deserve it.

    @mbradfo2 thanks friend.  How are you doing with the little one?

    AFM:
    We are 25 weeks tomorrow.  I had an ultrasound today and the girls are looking good!  Charlotte is 1 lb 7 oz and Lily is 1 lb 10 0z.  Thats a 9% discordance.  They want under 20%.  Charlotte has always been lagging slightly behind, but I will take the 9%.  The acardiac continues to grow and its now 20% the size of the girls where as before it was 18%, so just slightly bigger than it was 2 weeks ago in relation to the girls.  Fluid levels and hearts are looking good.  So we just keep going back to the fact that with such a rare and super scary pregnancy, we are looking about as good as can be expected.  My MFM today pretty much put the ball in my court for when I want to go out of work.  He knows how stressful and physical my job is and the original plan was 28 weeks, but I recognize that its taking so much out of me that every day off I sleep for hours to catch up on rest during the day since Im so wiped out from my 13 hour shifts.  He emphasized how rare and complicated I am and how high risk, so he doesn't want me to push myself too far.  So I agreed one more week and I will go out on dec 23rd at 26 weeks. Esp since they think I will deliver between 32-34 weeks.  He said my placenta won't recognize one baby is nonviable, so it is doing the work for 3 babies....so my placenta going bad will happen sooner than most twin pregnancies.  Im feeling pretty huge and tired.  I got a massage today that was so lovely and much needed and I am now seeing a prenatal chiropractor weekly to keep everything in good working condition with how fast I am growing.  He said the next few weeks are gonna be rapid growth, so be prepared for a huge growth spurt.

    Wishing all you ladies a wonderful holiday season with your families and loved ones.  For those of you who are spending your first xmas with your miracle babies, I am so happy for you.  And for those that didnt know, our very own @jamieh2000 brought home her baby the other day after nearly a month in the NICU, she's not on here anymore, but a lot of you know her story. For those who are struggling, I see you, my heart is with you.  You are not alone.  Much love to all you wonderful warriors.
    Love Andrea

    I'm glad that everything is going okay; you're going to have one crazy story to tell your girls one day!! -- a 32-34 weeks target isn't that premature but they will be smaller since they are twins/triplets so you'll likely need some nursery time but hopefully just a step-down for growth. Both DD1 and DD2 were born late premature (35 and 36 weeks) and they did just fine. For whatever reason, baby girls seem to be a bit more resilient/tough than baby boys. Will they be preemptively admitting you to the hospital by that point for monitoring? I love their names! I'm always a big fan of the old fashioned names. We've been doing well -- just hit 4 weeks on the 13th so a big milestone there. Looking forward to her getting shots next month but obviously just laying low due to covid. I've been having bad insomnia due to the crazy sleep schedules (between DD1 and DD2, our sleep is all over the place!). It's been a bit of a struggle as my doctor doesn't want to give me a sleep medicine (I tend to over-respond to them and end up sleeping excessively or being groggy all day) and I have a paradoxical reaction to benadryl -- rather than making me sleepy, it gets me totally hyped up. But I need sleep! We're thinking of trying some melatonin next.

  • @mbradfo2 thanks for the reassurance.   I've heard the same thing about girls doing better.   Can't believe she is already 4 weeks.  As for your sleeping, I had a functional med doc tellme to take magnesium glycinate-3 pills, and I cannot believe how well it worked.   Better than sleep meds.   Our bodies really need the magnesium and it helps us relax apparently.   Try that!! You won't feel groggy.  I got pure encapsulation brand on amazon and worked great.

    I'll have to try that out -- the insomnia is killing me.  It's almost 12 am here and I am not tired in the least. With DD1, we split shifts and I slept from 8 pm to 1 am (and my husband slept from 1 am to 6 am) but since I can't fall asleep, it's really not helping. DD1 has also been having bad dreams on and off (about a mouse and/or a pink monster heh) so even if I'm off duty, I sometimes end up sitting up with her throughout the night and I'm sure that hasn't helped.

  • Ooof, I'm starting Christmas angry at someone who had the gall to tell me that IVF cycles are morally unethical because they produce tons of embryos but only a few are used. Her words: "15 eggs on average are retrieved and grown but only 1 or 2 embryos are transferred; all other fertilized cells are discarded like waste -- so immoral!!"  I was just...I can't even begin to wrap my head around how someone could be so misinformed in this day and age. I guess she thinks my girls are just morally unethical.

    Just an acquaintance and DH is like, "Just ignore them!" heh It just annoys me because it's such a tone deaf reaction -- it assumes that couples in treatment for IVF are okay with or even complicit in the destruction of viable embryos when we all know that is the opposite of the case. No one would be talking about transferring mosaics if we just wanted throw things away.

    I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday! It was actually nice to have a quieter day since we just stayed at home. DD1 was delighted with her presents and DD2 enjoyed the tree lights and shiny wrapping paper haha. And watching DD1 play with her Lulu Achoo doll (the doll sneezes and blows her nose + other baby noises).

    @andreamm31 How you doing and feeling these days?  Hope the lil girls are snuggled in nicely :)

    AFM: Starting to take my estrace this week and transfer mid January. Do not know if I am ready haven't really thought about it much the last couple of months and that felt good. RE and I feel like we should place two embryos (not PGS tested) and hubby not on board. Just wanted to hear your thoughts ladies and advise?! Thanks.
  • @mbradfo2. Sounds like a lovely holiday with your little angels!

    @lmajin99 I am so happy to hear you are getting ready for your next transfer!  How exciting!  I think 2 embryos is a good idea with the journey you have been on.  But its important you are all on the same page.  My husband wasn't on board with 2 initially either, but it looks like it didnt matter if we put one or 2 in because our girl was the one who split into 3 babies anyways.  I don't know what it is like to have a singleton pregnancy past 10 weeks, so I cant attest to how much harder this is compared to a singleton pregnancy, but it is freaking hard!!!   Im measuring like 36 weeks at 27 weeks and Im constantly exhausted and have a lot of back pain.  But, I am beyond thrilled that after everything we have gone through, in the end we will have 2 angels with us.  And likely be my only pregnancy.  A pregnancy with di/di twins (fraternal) is safer than the situation I am in with them sharing a placenta, so even if both take, you will be in a slightly less stressful pregnancy than I am in.  Ultimately, do what your heart is telling you....and if your RE is suggesting it too, Id say go for it.  Keep us posted and sending you so much good juju girl!

    Girls looked great at our appt yesterday.  they are measuring 2lbs and 2lbs 2 oz.  2-2-2.  I feel like its a good sign.  We asked the doctor when he wants to schedule our c-section and he said that we should deliver between 34 and 35 weeks (if we can make it that far) so I asked for 2/22/22 which is 34 weeks 5 days and he said YES!  We haven't officially scheduled it, but next time I go in for our appt, im gonna ask to get it in the books.  But I love that numerology.  The girls are handling things sooooo well!  Our doctor is actually in shock at how well they are handling pumping blood to the acardiac fetus and how well my body is handling everything.  And acardiac is measuring about 18% the size of the girls which is still great.  We are at the point now where if we see any trouble at all, we will go for delivery, rather than a procedure of any sort.  The girls are kicking like crazy, I can see them kick on the outside now sometimes and my hubby can feel them which is great.  My little pup has been licking my belly and communicating with his sisters and its just the cutest.  As I wrote above, im hurting quite a bit as I grow exceptionally fast and seeing a chiropractor and getting massages.  Im trying to stretch as much as I can, but my body just hurts.  Im so glad I am on maternity leave already, I could not hang right now.  So I am just napping everyday and resting as much as I can as sleep is very sparse with how uncomfortable I am.

  • @andreamm31 So much happiness for you as I read your post and to see how well the girls are doing.  Hang in there as yes I am sure it is such a toll on your body and it looks like you are following all the right steps to alleviate some of the pressure.  Thank you for the advice, very grateful for it as we contemplate what we will do.  We have a few weeks to decide still and will let you know.  Happy New Year! Bring on 2022!!
  • @andreamm31
    It's so exciting that you're getting sooo close! I am so happy for you; you've been through such a rollercoaster and then a high risk pregnancy....you never get a break! Your girls are so lucky to have you as mommy!

    @Imajin99
    I transferred two for my pregnancy with DD1 (I couldn't with DD2 because of my history of pre-eclampsia). We had di/di twins at 7 weeks, both with heartbeats.  I am personally glad I did since one of the twins m/c at the same gestation as my prior m/c (and with the same signs of enlarged yolk, etc). We only had two embryos (untested) so I was just like, "Let's go for it!" and my doctor was fine with it since they were untested, I had a prior m/c and I was 34 at the time of transfer. So it's always a risk but I think that with the appropriate patient, it can be a good thing.

  • Thank you at @mbradfo2 for that information. We still have been discussing it but I am in the frame of mind lets try with the two.  All other transfers RE wanted just 1 but now based on the history RE is willing to do two with the hopes that one will at least work.
  • Hi Ladies happy new year!  Here's to lots of health and happiness in 2022!!

    @Imajin99 So happy to see you're getting ready for a transfer.  I always wanted to go with two, which I did with my fresh transfer, we actually transfered the 3 that were retrieved (more do to my age at the time) but that was my *TW loss - when I lost my twin pregnancy, for me the RE didn't want to move forward without testing and only transferring normal embryos.  However if I was in your position I would want to go for two as well, especially not tested!!  I will also add the fact that your RE is willing to do it based on you certainly says somwthing too!

    @andreamm31 glad to see you're on maternity leave and resting!  I'm so exhausted too and my lil one keeps catching every germ so its been one thing after another over here!  I totally missed it's going to be 2/22/22 that is pretty cool...I think you'll be having your lil ones before me.  I have an appt tomorrow to discuss with my OB but I have a feeling it'll be the last week in feb unless my baby has other plans ;)  I doubt it, I feel like my kiddos like to hang out as long as possible!  Its so hard to find a comfortable spot, I feel like a pancake flipping from one side to another every 1/2hr looking for a spot to get comfy.

    @kp214 hows the donor process going, have you settled on somone to moe forward with?

    AFM: TW pregnancy and child mentioned.
    Thank goodness everything is progressing nicely and I'm ginormous!  I could do without the nausea returning...I'm so over that already!!  My lil one seems to catch everything under the sun so trying to keep us all healthy seems to be tricky!  I believe after this week I start seeing the drs biweekly... so things start to really start getting real!  Its exciting to be in this spot but nerve wracking nontheless...especially with the shape the current world is in!

    I forgot to mention that I've found a sleeping pattern that seems to work! I've been doing biphasic sleeping. Right after DD1 goes to bed (8pm), I go to sleep and my husband takes over.  I wake up around 12:30-1am, do a feeding around 1:30 and then go back to sleep. DD1's nightmares have largely stopped so I wonder if it was just stress from all of the changes. DD2 is much like her sister in that she is a solid sleeper so when I put her back at 1:30, she'll sleep until 5 or so (since she's gaining weight very well, the doctor said it's fine to let her sleep rather than wake her up every 3 hours). So on a good night where everything works out, I've been able to get 8-9 hours of sleep which is awesome.

    I've been lucky with sleeping as far as the kiddos are concerned -- both are great sleepers (although DD2 definitely likes her bassinet more than DD1 did! DD1 preferred being in a big space like the packnplay or a crib). DD1 is super obsessed with taking care of babies (dolls) right now so she likes to help out and it's sometimes hard to redirect her in a way where she can be helpful without her feeling left out. I mostly encourage her to care for her dolls alongside DD2 and let her help me in smaller ways (picking out clothes, helping to pack a diaper bag). . She has a jogger stroller for her favorite so we'll go out walking together (I push the big stroller and she pushes her doll stroller). She actually packs a big diaper bag for her doll each walk (with all of the necessities! teething rings, diapers, wipes, bottles, clothes, food, a toy haha she's more thorough than I am!)!

  • @mbradfo2. I am so happy you figured out a good sleep schedule!  That must make so much difference.  And how cute is your daughter packing her own little diaper bag and being a mommy right along side you with her own baby doll.  That is just the cutest!

    @lmajin99 Im glad you are thinking of 2! any idea when you guys are going to start?

    @hopeful_mom.  Its so weird I will be having my girls before you when you were ahead of me....but nothing is normal with my situation.  haha.  But I hear you girl with flipping like a pancake at night, its so hard!  And I can imagine all the stress of your kid bringing home germs and how crazy things are right now.  If it makes you feel any better, I have an unvaccinated friend who caught covid from her vaxxed sister and she is 37 weeks preggo and her symptoms were so mild and her course was actually milder than all her vaxxed family who got it at the xmas party.  She just delivered a very healthy baby boy on Monday.

    AFM
    I saw my MFM yesterday and the girls are now 2lb 11oz and 2lb 12 oz.  The little chunkers had their biggest weight gain over a 2 week period so far.  No wonder I have been hungrier!   We are 29 weeks tomorrow.  Baby A (Charlotte) has some increased doppler flows showing some resistance but not critical or anything to be stressed about just yet, just something that we will watch really closely.  We also started non-stress tests twice a week at the hospital yesterday.  And the girls did amazing!  They passed with flying colors and the nurse was super impressed with how early they are passing like they were 32 weekers or something.  Things feel like they are getting really real when my doc yesterday was giving me all the signs I need to go to the hospital (like pre-eclampsia signs and premature labor signs).  They scheduled us for 2/22/22 for their c-section if we can make it that far, which is 34 weeks 5 days.  And the acardiac has slowed its growth compared to the girls and the doctor said that at this point its not really going to impact the girls anymore so we are so grateful we survived this scary TRAP sequence situation.  We also did our maternity photo shoot Monday night and the weather and sunset was amazing at the beach! I cant wait for the 2 weeks it will take to get our pics!  We had rescheduled from a rainy day right after xmas when it was 55 degrees and Monday it was 65 degrees.  So much more comfortable in a lacy dress.   So now I am just going to appts and relaxing and doing pretty much nothing.  Sleep is impossible and my back is so painful.  Thank god for my husband taking over all household chores and doing everything for me.  He will be the best Dad.

    After contemplating about the number of embryos with a lot of sleepless nights I decided to continue with just the 1 embryo.  If I was having this much anxiety of the thought of it then I did not want to impact the process and have this much stress during the transfer.  Has anyone ever had the intralipid transfusion prior to a transfer? My RE has recommended it and will be doing it tomorrow. Transfer is scheduled for next week.
  • @lmajin99 I think that is a great use of using your intuition.  If you had a lot of anxiety, then it means that it wasn't right for you.  Im a big believer in that.  you definetly did the right thing.  I follow a few instagram accounts of women who used intralipid infusions after multiple failed transfers and had success.  I think its a great idea.  feeling so hopeful for you my friend that this is the one!  Its your time now.  Sending so much love your way.  And I for sure will share once I get them.

    History in Spoiler
  • @andreamm31
    Every time I look at the calendar now, I think "Omg she has less than 6 weeks to babies!!"  For me, I can still remember how I felt when my MFM said "I think we should just deliver now" with DD1! It was the first time I started to think "wow, I can actually get excited now!" after just being on pins and needles the entire pregnancy, expecting the worst. I'm so excited for you! <3

    @Imajin99
    I think just doing 1 is fine! All the research shows that any overall "increased chance" when doing 2 at once is marginal at best (probably mostly in our minds!). I've heard of the intralipid infusion helping many ladies and it certainly can't hurt. I'm all for throwing in the kitchen sink (proverbially lol).

  • @mbradfo2 Anne is just the cutest I can't....I starting reponding forever ago but I see it didn't post.  Can she come get my bags ready she does a better job then I do.  I feel like I'm so just so unprepared this time around its crazy!!  I'm praying mine will be a sweet lil helper when the time comes and not the ooposite.  Lots of tantrums lately with tossing toys all about... :s How are you managing in the colder weather?

    Imajin99 I'm so excited for you and can't wait for your time!  I think your thought process is smart and you should stick to the process of always going with your gut...my drs at this point wouldn't only do one.  Hope you're taking this time to just relax and do you!

    @andreamm31 OMG thos pics are just amazing, you look absolutely stunning!  And I know for you, you think thats huge but you don't look that way at all, so perfect and lovely!!  I can't believe how close we're getting!  I know I want this lil one to cook to full term but these last few days I've been in such pain, its not cute!  I feel you and I'm right there with you my friend! Trying to enjoy the last few weeks but its not easy! Most importantly thank you for sharing that information with me on your pregnant friend with covid.  After just going to the dr he made me feel like an anomolie since I've been good this whole pregnancy and told him not to jinx me please!!  Did you get your tdap shot yet?  I haven't done anything yet...I really need to try and get a few photos in too.  OH and you're hair looks great too, all grown out.  I don't know what I'm doing with mine right now.

    AFM: hate to complain but just huge and uncomforatble over here...more below
    I can't believe I'm closer to the end then the beginning of this process, I'll be approaching 35 weeks and have had this severe pain right under my right boob, its like the baby is trying to make more room but yet the other side doesn't hurt at all.  Hoping within the week the baby will drop a lil and the pain will go away.  I feel like I need to strech and lay down all the time now to get relief.  Just makes it difficult when I'm driving and dont have that luxury.  Nausea still keeps popping its ugly head in, its unreal! Other then that luckily the baby is looking good and keeps flipping all around!
