November/December Symptom Thread

Re: November/December Symptom Thread

  • Yesterday I was ravenous. Today I'm not so hungry but more than normal. Also noticed increased sense of smell, which makes being hungry hard. I am hungry but the minute I smell something not appealing I can't stomach anything to eat. Gah.

  • @starkette cleaning house is overrated! I spent the whole day cleaning my house floor to ceiling before Xmas guests arrive tomorrow. I swear I’ll be in bed by 8 tonight I’m so exhausted!
  • My progesterone levels came back and they're at 60! So I get to stop my progesterone suppositories. Woohoo! But now I'm nervous that stopping them will mess things up. But I think a 60 is giving me more than enough leeway. Anyone else have any experience with this?

  • I am tired, bloated, and nauseous almost all the time. This is so different from my first pregnancy when I was never even the slightest bit nauseous. My breasts hurt so much and I have to pee every minute. I'm having the worst mood swings, could cry at any second over any emotion and I'm itchy! I think my skin is more oily lately, like my hair is greasy very quickly now and I'm having to wash it more often, so I have a feeling the itchiness is from the oils in my skin. And the dreams I'm having! Geez Louise! 🤣
  • Dear smells - all smells, even typically good ones - plz go away. Love, first tri me 😅
  • I know you aren’t supposed to eat for two in first tri…but my body definitely would like me to go ahead and eat for two. I had to get up at 2am and chug some milk because my stomach was growling so much I couldn’t sleep. I was hoping to not gain 10-15 lbs right away again this time but this girl is hangry.

  • @bearmomma1 I don't have any experience with getting to go off progesterone... But as someone who was on the lower end of progesterone levels (mine was only 13) and being told I need to go on progesterone pills for the reminder of my 1st trimester, I think a level of 60 is amazing!! I'm sure your OB wouldn't recommend you going off of it if they were worried about the levels dropping.
  • @coco2787 I’ve been having to have a snack before I go to bed! My tummy starts growling around 9:30pm 🤣

Thanks @darkrose88. I know in theory they know what they’re doing. PGAL is no joke!

  • I have no appetite, but I've had a cold the past couple of days and I can't really figure out if the lack of appetite is from the cold or pregnancy or both. This same thing happened in my first pregnancy. I caught a cold around 6 weeks and by the time I got better I had ALL THE FOOD AVERSIONS!
  • @wisewitch222 not to bring up that dirty word - but have you been covid tested? i had an off and on runny nose monday and tues... welp, positive. and i was boosted 11/8. thanks omicron, eff you.
  • Oh noo @anniemarie887 that sucks so much. COVID is so bad right now I know so many people that have gotten it in the last week. My county still has a mask mandate but I see so many people still not wearing one, I’ve been wearing a KN95 again because I’m so nervous about it

  • @anniemarie887 I'm going to take a rapid test tomorrow before Christmas Eve because my grandmother will be there. But I must say, those vaccines are awesome if all you got for symptoms was a mild cold!
  • @anniemarie887 I’m sorry you have Covid! It’s annoying when you’ve gotten the vaccine (and booster) and still get it! Luckily, your symptoms seem mild, so small wins.
I got it back in July (fully vaccinated) but my husband and our girls didn’t get it.

@coco2787 hopefully wearing your mask puts you at at ease. It’s always tough when people aren’t considerate of others. I get it.. touchy subject but still.

@wisewitch222 that’s great you’re being cautious because of your grandmother!

  • So, what’s crazier is I had covid in July. So we assume that was delta and this is omicron. I am not someone who is constantly sick, I’m actually really healthy. But apparently covid has it out for me. The magic is that in July I didn’t infect anyone I exposed, and it was still mild. This is definitely milder so far. My OB still had me do monoclonal antibodies, they came to my house and did it via injection.

@coco2787 MH and I went back to mask wearing after I had breakthrough in July, but we do dine indoor and socialize with friends.

@wisewitch222 and yes, I cried because Christmas is not derailed, as is my daughters 2nd bday on Christmas Eve. BUT the point of these vaccines are keeping my husband negative, and hopefully my daughter as well. We’re waiting on her PCR. And me generally fine!

@dimeadozen isn’t it wild how it “picks” people? I wish we could figure out the rhyme or reason! Glad it didn’t get the rest of your fam!
  • Oh my, I relate to all of you with food aversions and feeling ravenous but nauseous all the time. It's a bit better with the B6 supplement but I can only eat a few bites of things before my body says NOPE. It sucks. But if this pregnancy anything like my others, that'll change around 12-13 weeks.

@anniemarie887 it seems almost impossible to avoid right now, even if taking precautions. I assume we’re all gonna get at some point.

@bearmomma1 yeah I’m definitely gonna have to start having a night time snack

I think this pregnancy is gonna be a rough one, I’ve been feeling progressively worse as the day goes on and gagged so many times trying to eat my sandwich at lunch that I just gave up 🤢

  • @dimeadozen She's 96 and coming out of the nursing home for dinner at my parents' house! This will be the first time we will see her in person in two years. Everyone at Christmas is vaccinated and boosted, except my 6 year old who just became fully vaccinated last week, and my three year old. We'll put masks on to hug her. It will be a really special Christmas.
  • @wisewitch222 what a special Christmas it will be! How lovely 💕 so sorry it’s been so long, but I can’t imagine how happy she’ll need seeing everyone!!

  • @wisewitch222 i'm so happy for you to be able to have this holiday with your family. <3
@COCO2787 yup, it's insane the number of boosted and cautious people i know who are testing positive.
  • The rlp is relentless! It full wakes me up every time I roll over at night ALREADY! Ugh. It’s probably the bloat and bit of a mom pooch I have going on but grrr. About to pull out the pregnancy pillow at just 7 weeks 😅😎
  • My boobs are so sore and I swear they're almost a cup bigger already. MH offered to make me my favorite toast with egg snack and the though of eggs makes me wanna puke now, so hello food aversion.
  • Sameee @paytonpedro I can’t even cough without hunching over and holding my ute

  • I’m 5w3d boobs soar around the clock, when I eat I’m dizzy afterwards, sooooo sleepy in the middle of the day, so tired by the evening time
  • @ambelance yes to the food aversions! Eggs just sound so gross right now. Anything majorly greasy too.
  • @ambelance my husband brought out Mayo for something and I almost puked. Def getting those food aversions as well.
  • Getting over my cold (covid negative) and can now identify the first tri symptoms: general low energy and tiredness, and a profound indifference to all food that isn't bread, cheese, or Snickers. Sounds about right.
  • Just hit 8 weeks and my nausea is sooooo bad. When I’m hungry I’m nauseous, so I can’t eat so I get more nauseous. So I’m more hungry and more nauseous. 😩 and all food sounds disgusting. Things I used to love are like 🤢.
  • About to hit 6 weeks and I'm nauseous almost all day. I can eat something and a few hours later I can't even think of it >.< this is by far the worst for me. I am a big eater and now I can't stomach most things. My only reliable foods so far are apples, cereal bars and yogurt :'/
  • @starkette I feel your pain  😪 I'm almost 6 weeks and nauseous almost all day. Nothing sounds good. Apples are my go to as well! With yogurt and cereal bars 🤢
  • @bre2022 I can tell you, I'm really looking forward to the second trimester. First, cravings start and food aversions decrease. Second, gender scan. Third, kicks begin to be felt. So excited. Right now, it's rough- nausea all the time and hungry all the time. Can't wait. 5 more weeks.
  • My symptoms are all over the place. I’ve experienced first tri 4 times and two times were horrible and two were easy breezy so I figured it would be one or the other again. (For the record, the girl pregnancies were the easy ones). Right now I have some food aversions and occasional nausea but no where near as bad as past pregnancies. I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow and if I’m not barfing by then I assume it won’t get too bad.

  • @coco2787 My girl pregnancy was easy too!

I swear I have put on a full cup size in the last 24 hours. I am quite small chested so this is by far my favorite pregnancy symptom 😂
  • @coco2787 and @maggiemadeit I wonder if I'm having a girl, then. My boy pregnancies weren't *that* bad (mostly food aversions and extreme fatigue, but no vomiting), but this time I'm going to be 7 weeks tomorrow and I definitely have some noticeable aversions (mostly to meat, but also a little to potatoes and vegetables), tiredness, and sensitivity to smells, but I feel like it should be much worse by now. Not that I want it to be worse. I'm actually completely dreading it getting worse in the next few days. But maybe it won't and I'm having a girl?
  • Now you guys have me wondering! My girl pregnancy was super easy. Barely any food aversions, tired at times. My boy I was extremely nauseous for 16 weeks, extreme exhaustion, massive headaches (all during the lockdown portion of the pandemic, with a young toddler at home). I’m a little over 5 weeks and have experienced minor nausea so far. Maybe a girl this time!

  • I have two girls and both pregnancies were wildly different for me. The first way pretty easy, the second pretty rough. So I have zero way of predicting gender this time because it's falling somewhere in the middle of the other two.
  • Same as @starkette I have two boys and both of my pregnancies were very different. My first was also pretty easy and my second I was sick until 24 weeks. I just hope that doesn’t happen again…
  • Is anyone having a hard time sleeping on their belly I will be 6 wks tomorrow and sleeping on my abdomen makes me crampy and also my nausea kicked in all day until late afternoon
  • @ladyzoe89 my issue is if I roll onto my stomach it kills my boobs, they are so tender
