It’s amazing how different each pregnancy can be. My first 3 (term pregnancies) were pretty easy. Little bit of nausea, exhaustion, etc. My 4th baby, I had HG and I was in the hospital multiple times. Did the b6/unisom until 28 weeks.
I’ve felt mostly fine this time until yesterday when the nausea hit. It’s extra special right now because I have bronchitis and have been coughing so much the last few days. Nausea and coughing is not a good combination. So I’ve been playing a game called, “Will it be more than a cough?” 😆so far no vomit so hopefully it’ll ease up.
@and_peggy I’ve been getting waves of dizziness, too.
@paytonpedro can you describe your rlp? I think I’m having some of that, too bc I keep getting pains like more near my groin. So achey lol it was not like this with my first. Hope this little gummy bear is ok in there.
@and_peggy & @darkrose88 it is so relieving but I’m eager to see the next value tomorrow!
@beck105 For me, rlp has always been a sharp pain on either my right or left side of my pelvis (never both together). When I roll in bed sometimes I feel it, it wakes me up but subsides quickly. Usually 15-45 seconds. Many women experience it when rolling in bed or standing up. Or just twisting in a weird way can cause it. I hope for you it’s just rlp and your little bean is doing good in there!
@paytonpedro I think so. I feel a little crampy, but it’s like low and kind of in my groin area. It’s not so bad, just like achey. My 6 week bump update said that I might still be cramping from like the growing and stretching down there. It’s not severe and no spotting 🤞🏻🤞🏻
@becks105 for me, rlp is like a painful stretching in my pelvic area, usually on the sides, and can feel like a pulled muscle. It also comes on so suddenly like @paytonpedro said, if you move a certain way it can just spike up the side of my abdomen. AND YES I'm totally feeling it, too. And the feeling of a golf ball where my uterus should be.
@beck105 I had full cramps in both of my previous (longer than) full term pregnancies. My doctor said it was totally normal and just the uterus stretching. I literally complained about it at every appointment haha. I’ve been feeling some dull cramps but they’re fleeting. So good that there is no spotting accompanied!
@starkette so weird!! I also feel like I can feel my uterus!!! I swore I could feel it around 6 weeks with my second but convinced myself I was crazy. But I think I did and I’m sure that’s what it is now. 4th time uterus, this baby is going to have nothing but space for a while!!
Nausea is at an all time high today, woke up starving and nauseous. The worst combo. Nothing sounded good, so I had an apple (my sickie food of choice) which was okay. Then a few hours later I was so hungry I grudgingly made eggs and toast and choked it down. Still feeling hungry though! And nauseous.
This is weird for me. I'm only 5 weeks. I never have gotten sick this early before. Every pregnancy really is different.
Also my house is a huge mess and I have zero motivation to do anything about it.
@starkette +1 for the messy house. I’ve been picking up and as soon as I get one area cleaned, my children have destroyed another room. Lol. It’s pointless.
Every pregnancy really is so different! I had some nausea on and off the past few days but basically don’t feel pregnant. I can feel my uterus and my boobs have soreness but I feel it’s all so mild compared to prior pregnancies. Surely I’ll be eating my words in the weeks to come lol.
Anyone else’s hair texture change during/after pregnancy? My hair is disgusting right now and feels waxy, even during it being washed. It’s never recovered since baby 1, and only gotten worse each time. 😆
@and_peggy YES OH MY GODDDDD. With my daughter, I had the most beautiful hair!!! I was just thinking the other day like… ok? I’m knocked up, where’s my good hair again! It’s so slimy 😭😭😭 I normally can go a week without washing but now I’ve washed twice this week so far!
The last few days I've had this persistent terrible taste in my mouth. I have been so baffled and annoyed by it and I just realized tonight it's a pregnancy symptom. duh! Also, yuck.
@And_peggy +1 here. I have to use a clarifying shampoo like once a month. My hair is much more… wirey feeling? Definitely a different texture since being pregnant. It’s also 100x more frizzy and kinky.
Second beta came back….. 5766!!!!!!!! 😍😍 slightly more than doubled and it feels so good!!
I was telling hubby yesterday how I wish I “felt more pregnant” and let me tell you, I am kicking myself today. Way overdid it last night with dinner and then ice cream and just woke up still feeling so full. Also like I can’t take a full breath, which I can, but feeling so bloated makes it hard, and then the anxiety over not being able to take a full breath, and the nausea trying to eat breakfast so I could take my prenatal… good times.
@and_peggy Redken and Biolage have one that I really like. Currently I’m using the biolage one. You could probably find cheaper ones as well, I’ve actually had a hair stylist recommend just the cheap VO5 after I had extensions taken out to help with the build up and it worked really well!
@starkette I’ve been feeling the same nausea since about week 4, I’m 6 +2 now. I have been living off bread for about five days now lol @and_peggy@becks105 my hair is truly awful pp almost four years now, so dry and wirey as others have said. The only solution I’ve found is using the Revlon Blow brush, it’s a miracle worker!!!
@andrea3o omg I've been trying so hard to eat well and just dealing with the nausea. I think a bread diet sounds awesome right now. Today is a toast day.
I'm 3w+6 and I'm exhausted. The queasy feeling started yesterday and gets worse going into the evening and I'm just barely getting to week 4 so I hope that doesn't mean bad nausea in my future.
4+1 and so far the only symptoms I have are sore breasts (for the past like seven days) and mild, intermittent cramps and round ligament pain for the past 2-3 days. So far, this is reminding me a lot more of my first pregnancy than my second. Neither were that bad, though, but I'm dreading the food aversions and fatigue I know are on the horizon.
5+6 nausea is intense ALL DAY long. But no vomiting. The only thing I could stomach last night was broth and toast. Today, I ate some biscuits but they might have been too rich. I'm full but feeling icky. Otherwise, my boobs hurt. Those are my only symptoms but they kinda suck.
@starkette I absolutely feel your pain. I’m sick of toast but it’s the only thing besides broth I’ve been able to keep down. Today I ate crackers and they’re still inside me… earlier I threw up a banana, which was my last fruit that was passing through the nausea. Every time I think of food I know I like, I feel like I’m going to vomit. Even talking about specific foods is now a no-go!
I get sooooo clumsy! We have a running joke in my house that when I start dropping things it’s time to test. True to form, I have dropped EVERYTHING I’ve touched today, including an entire dish of saag paneer that I had every intention of eating for lunch. So annoying. 🤬
@andrea3o YES it's terrible. And it doesn't help that I'm SO hungry, too. I found chocolate milk was palatable, today, just plain milk. I can't wait for the second trimester when this will end.
@starkette last night I ate a buttered baked potato for dinner, and it was dreamy. Felt comfortably full for the first time in a week! I forgot to take my prenatal afterward, and woke up today feeling incredibly less nauseated, so I think I’m going to try switching them out for another brand. I’m feeling so well that I might even bake banana muffins right now. It’s *a miracle*
I have felt nauseous for two weeks now. But it was coming in waves. But since Saturday I am just continuously nauseous. 😢 I’ve been trying to force myself to eat my meals, but I hope this doesn’t become a long term thing. I was never sick on my first pregnancy.
Omg y’all. I feel like I’m dying over here today. I woke up feeling hungover- dizzy, shaky, thirsty, upset stomach, nauseous. Ugh. I think I was just dehydrated though, I’m starting to feel better now.
My symptoms graciously gave me a break while I dealt with a tooth infection over the weekend (Im now getting a root canal tomorrow, the dentist knows I'm pregnant so local anesthetic only for me 😭) but boy yesterday did they come back. The total body exhaustion, and round ligament pain started.
Yes to all of the above, ladies. I’ve taken the rest of the week off work because I’m just so freaking tired that I can’t get out of bed, and I’m nauseous standing up. Almost threw up in my car when I got to my school.
I caved and told my principal what is going on, and she was kind and gave me some ideas as to how we can manage my work in the next few months. Thankfully my sick days cover this week, and then we’re off on winter break for two weeks. I’m 13 weeks the last week of January, and I’m really hopeful that by the time the month ends, these symptoms will have subsided and I can get back to regular life.
My Dr gave me new prenatals called PregVit, which are expensive but covered by my insurance. Since starting them yesterday my nausea has gone down enough that I’ve been keeping more down than just toast and the odd baked potato (lol). Attempting rice for lunch with some basic veggies like corn and onions. It would be nice to eat a vegetable today. 😂
@and_peggy I know you mentioned dizziness, especially upon waking. Please tell me this isn’t something that lasts the whole pregnancy?? I’ve never had dizziness in pregnancy but woke up super dizzy today and it’s been coming in waves since.
@paytonpedro I too have felt like I’m hungover without the fun. I get periods of unsteadiness all day long. It sucks, but I think I remember it going away after a while with my last pregnancy!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
@becks105@paytonpedro I've had several dizzy/unsteady episodes too this pregnancy. Definitely a very odd feeling! Hopefully they don't last the entire time.
I'm in the eat-all-the-food-while-I-still-can phase of the first trimester. Not sure if I actually have an increased appetite or I just see the food aversions on the horizon and want to savor every bite while I still like food.
@paytonpedro for me, my dizzy spells have always lasted all pregnancy. I will say part of it probably stems from hypothyroid and my meds constantly changing during pregnancy. But yeah, I will say probably 2 or 3 days a week I’ll wake up completely unable to stand. I’ve also had blood pressure issues and had been induced 3/4 times because of it. Dizziness can be completely normal, the amount of blood flow is different during pregnancy. If it continues and you have a way to check your BP, not a bad idea.

@paytonpedro which clarifying shampoo? I should try that.
@starkette the metallic taste is usually my first pregnancy but this is the first time I’ve not had it. It’s pretty nasty.
