How did you find out? About to go camping, wondering if I should pack menstrual supplies and realized my period was late. Took a test and here we are.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do?
I have a 5 year old daughter, and have been very active with the N15 board since (we have a Facebook page and keep in touch daily - it’s been an amazing support).
I am a Social Worker by trade, but have been working as an ECE since my daughter was born as it allows more work/life balance for this season of our lives.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
Enjoying the early stages before I tell anyone or call my RE. We are in the middle of infertility treatment, and actually took last month off as a break between cycles of IUI. My daughter took us 5 years to conceive, and now it’s been another 5 years to have this positive test.
In hindsight, my period is late, I’ve had acid reflux every day, and have been exhausted - falling asleep while reading my daughter books at bedtime this past week.
TW: We had many, many losses while trying for our daughter, including one second tri loss. This is my first positive test since she was born. I’m in a bit of disbelief, and posting here to commit and help it feel real! After 5 years of nothing, this was our last go so we could have some closure and know that we had tried one last time before accepting that our daughter would be an only child.
GTKY: I live in Northern Ontario, where it snows from October to May. I love cold weather, and our family spends a lot of time outdoors!
@Jeenyus Congratulations!!! My girls are 5.5 years apart (the youngest just turned 2) and we conceived her the cycle before starting treatment:) I'm in Ontario as well. My sister lives in Northern Ontario (we spent a lot of time there as kids) and my cousin in WAY Northern Ontario. Nice to have a fellow Ontarian on the board;)
Hello! I agree, nice to have a fellow Ontarian! I’m the only Canadian in my daughters birth month board.
How do you find the age gap between your two? My daughter has been asking for a sibling for years, I know she will be ecstatic. I feel like the 6 year age gap may actually be quite nice!
It looks like you have had quite the journey TTC yourself. Congratulations!
@Jeenyus I actually love the age gap! They play so well together and because they are at such different stages they adore eachother without being in competition with eachother...if that makes sense? DD1 did NOT want a sibling so I thought it was going to be a huge adjustment but she took on the big sister role immediately. It's nice that DD1 was totally independent before DD2 came along so she didn't need me to get her drinks, snacks, etc and is great at watching DD2 for a few minutes if I need to get something done. I never planned on having such a big age gap but I love it! It will be interesting to see what it's like having 2 so much closer together now...and DD1 will be 8 when this little nugget gets here!
That’s great news, hoping my daughter will step into the big sister role with grace as well.
How interesting that you conceived her the cycle between treatment - my first daughter was the same. 3 rounds of femera, three rounds of IUI, and the month that we took a break before IVF - there she was!
This cycle was the same - we were set to do another round of IUI in July. You have to love our bodies sense of humour!
Hiiii everyone! I am so excited to be here. I just got my BFP yesterday, so I figured I would go ahead and jump in.
Due date? March 23. If I've calculated right, I am 3 weeks and 4 days. My period isn't even late yet.
How did you find out? My husband and I had been trying for 9 months now, so I had gotten used to taking negative tests every month and getting disappointed every month. We had started seeing a fertility doctor (I'm 37), and the plan was for me to start Clomid next cycle. And then when I least expected it, it happened without help after all. I am still shocked and kind of can't believe I'm actually pregnant.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have a son who is 2 years and 5 months. He is extremely rambunctious and never stops running and climbing and jumping off of things. I am not a very active outdoorsy person so he keeps me on my toes. My husband and I have been married for 4 years, and we live in NJ, where we both teach at a university (I teach English, he teaches bioengineering). But I'm currently in the middle of changing careers, this summer I'm taking an intensive course that transitions people out of academia and into jobs in data science. I've been working an insane number of hours while I'm in the course (like 80 plus per week yikes) and I imagine this pregnancy is going to throw a huge wrench in that but I am soooo excited to be pregnant after trying for almost a year.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I just found out I was pregnant yesterday, so no appointments yet, but I will call my midwife and my RE first thing tomorrow morning, fingers crossed they can get me in soon! No real symptoms yet since it's still so early, but I'm anxious about that because my morning sickness last pregnancy was brutal. It was completely debilitating and I had to take a leave of absence from work because I was so sick I couldn't function at all. I remember I used to get up and go to the kitchen to get a drink of water, and then I would just lie down in the middle of the kitchen floor because I felt so sick I couldn't handle the walk back to the living room couch. And I would have to lie there for ten minutes before I could get up again. It was horrible. I badly hope this pregnancy will be different.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I used to play competitive bridge, is that interesting? I would go to large tournaments and I was always the youngest person in the room by like 30 years. I loved it, but there hasn't been a lot of time for that since my son was born. I also love to knit and embroider, and I'm a huge book lover.
ETA: my F19 bump group has been the greatest community for me, and I am still so close with them. I can't imagine how I would have gotten through the newborn days without them! So I'm very excited to get to join a new bump group :-)
How did you find out? I suddenly hated the smell of bananas. Disgusting! My husband can no longer eat them near me. That was clue number 1. A week and a half later, and no sign of my period, and a positive test.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I are both teachers. I teach media and technology for kindergarten through grade 2. The past year and a half has been interesting, to say the least. Our daughter will be 5 in September.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) TW, this is my 4th pregnancy, so I'm a bit anxious.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I coach a youth canoe team.
My rainbow girl was my 4th pregnancy (DD1 was 5.5 when DD2 was born). We had 2 losses between them, and this is pregnancy #7 for me (so 2 losses after my rainbow girl before we got to this one). I found the stress never left or diminished the entire pregnancy with #2. I'm anticipating the same this time around but I find having @gembud here with me is actually making me feel calmer and more confident. I don't know if your losses were consecutive but all the reading I've done says it is very rare to have 3 consecutive losses...so I'm leaning on those stats right now 😅
@jessier19 Going by ovulation my EDD is March 23rd as well:) I got my positive 2 days ago at 9dpo. First day I tested and a nice obvious line popped up immediately! Yay for due date twins!
Oopsie. My gut was telling me I Am pregnant. Right on cue for implantation, cramping and spotting. Nearly threw up making my son salmon for supper last night.
DH came home from work this AM and walked in on me POAS.
I told him that sucked that he showed up, because it's not the way I wanted to tell him hahaha.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) We have 1 son (22mo) and 2 angel babies. We have a dog we rescued who is the sweetest girl ever, despite her previous abuse. We are both paramedics. I love to Travel, swim, and go for walks, and watch my son learn and explore. Cuddles with him are the best thing ever.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Excited. Nervous. TW* I had 2 losses so I was nervous my whole last pregnancy* end TW
Also, the timing will greatly affect work. But baby trumps career and we will make it work. I/my gut, KNEW a week ago. (I know that's absurd). And I went from freaked, to very excited and attached to this tiny future human!🥰 First appointment will likely be in the next 10 days or so. My OB will want me in as soon as possible. I'm super sensitive to smells at the moment. Cramping today again too.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I don't think there is much interesting about me haha. I can do the splits. Im super accident prone. My bucket list includes travelling to every continent
I had been having intense dreams for a week, so I knew in my heart even though the dreams started a few days after DTD. I ordered some tests with my Target pickup order on Saturday and took one in the bathroom at a restaurant. I came back to the table and told MH.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I’m 30 yo. One son, 3.5. We also have a little dog who just turned 7. She was our baby until our son was born. DH is an accountant and I teach elementary school. We enjoy watching shows together after DS goes to sleep, but our weekend days are filled with entertaining a toddler.
I was on the April18 BMB and made the move over to FB with those ladies. They got me through the hard newborn days, and I am so thankful for them. There was never any drama, and they are some of greatest women I have ever met! Hoping to get a similar experience here!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) feeling nervous to get excited.
****TW*********
I had a chemical pregnancy in May. I think I’ll feel a little more reassured after hitting the 5 week mark. No appointment yet. I took my test super early and I’m actually really surprised at how dark it was, so I’m going to wait until my expected period to call.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself!
I feel like there’s nothing interesting about me. I’m pretty basic. Buuut... I was on the ultimate frisbee team in college.
Hello! I started out on The Bump back in 2018 when I was TTC with
my first. I met some INCREDIBLE people who have supported me and shown
me kindness and strength when I felt so alone.
Due date? March 21st.
How did you find out? I
was tracking ovulation, my BBT, and I have to take progesterone three
days after O is confirmed (due to a short LP), but it was still a shock
to see a faint positive at 12dpo. I just turned a positive on a digital
this morning, so I decided to intro here.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I
have a 21-month-old daughter and two very old and spoiled kitty cats.
My husband and I have been married for five years, and we both work in
the entertainment industry. DH was in China for the past year while I
was staying with my daughter at my mom's home in St. Louis. I'm looking
forward to relocating back to Orlando as a soon-to-be family of four.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Overall,
I feel okay physically. I had some heartburn and I've been cramping,
but that's about it. I'm going to call a local doctor here today before I
get back to my regular OB in Orlando. Emotionally, I'm nervous because
I'm 37 and therefore geriatric. I just keep hoping these tests get
darker.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I
LOVE to karaoke to Celine Dion songs! I'm a terrible singer, but I put
on a bit of a comedy act and it's so much fun. I just did my first
Celine song in French (Tous les secrets) and it was a blast.

Good morning! Cautiously dipping my toe in after lurking for a few days!
Due date? 3/20 ish
How did you find out? We've been trying for over a year so i'm meticulously tracking my cycle. I tested at 11dpo and got a faint line. It's been getting darker over the weekend so i'm hopeful! I told my husband in a very matter of fact way (neither of us are big on "cute") and he's reserved but excited.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have one DD, she's 2.5 and hilarious. I'm a manager for a language interpreting team at a hospital. My husband is a microbiologist. We like to be outside and hike, kayak, and play at the park!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Oye. First appt is next week, it'll just be the intake, no US yet. I'm having symptoms, seemingly early to me.. but maybe normal. I'm low level nauseous, crampy, and MOOOODDYYYY whoooo boy. I feel like i have no patience, which i'm not enjoying about myself.
TW
This is my 5th pregnancy, so I'm very anxious. I had one MMC before my daughter, and another MMC and a CP in the last year. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but at the same time, early pregnancy is soooo consuming it's difficult. I'll feel slightly better after an US. For all the losses, we've never gotten to a heartbeat, so i think i'll feel a little more settled when we get to that point. Fingers crossed.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself
@geminigirl16 Bilingue.
I am not originally from Quebec and learned french in my twenties so I think I will always remain more comfortable in english.
@geminigirl16 I think because the majority of my life is in English that I'm probably more comfortable in English now too...although I forget English words way more often than French words...but that might just be my age showing 😅
How did you find out? Took a cheapie pregnancy test the day after missed period (Sunday) and it was faintly positive. Took a proper clearblue test this morning and it was super dark positive (Yay)!!!
Tell us about yourself: I am 32. DH is 35. We have been married for 11 years. We live in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. We have 2 other kids. DS turned 5 in June and DD is turning 2 on Saturday. I was in the July 2016 and July 2019 BMBs, although I was a little shy in both. I own my own business and DH works in government. We are so busy with 2 kids and our jobs that I don't even know how we will handle a third but we love being parents so much and are beyond excited. This was not an ooops, we were very much trying for this little one!
**TW** I had a chemical pregnancy in May of this year. It was my first loss. Its made me more cautiously optimistic about this pregnancy and I am praying and praying for a sticky baby! The lines on the tests are getting darker and we all know that's a good sign!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?): My doctor emailed me some bloodwork to get done, I hope to get to the lab today to get it done. Not sure when my first OB appointment will be. Just hoping the bloodwork all looks good. Taking it one day at a time. First symptom has been absolute exhaustion; last night I was so tired I couldn't even form words for a conversation! It was straight to bed for me. I have never really had much nausea with any pregnancy although sense of smell starts to ramp up and certain smells can become off-putting! I could sense yesterday that super sense of smell was coming back. Emotionally, I am feeling grateful and happy to have another chance at being a third time mom
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I am a personal development junkie. I listen to all of the podcasts and the audiobooks. I probably go through 2 audiobooks a week conservatively. My favourite podcast lately has been Oprah's Super Soul Conversations (am I a mom or what?!)
@Panaceia and @geminigirl16 yay!! I'm so excited! My last BMB I was the only person living in Canada!! (There were 2 Canadians living in Europe though). The entire rest of the board were ladies from the States.
How did you find out? We are actively trying so I began testing at 8 DPO. FRER 8 DPO was negative, 9 was squinter and 10 has some color so I am jumping in and hoping little one sticks.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I'm 34, and DH and I have two littler girls who are 5 and 2 (almost three). My Sep18 Bump group was amazing and I really enjoyed getting to know everyone! It was an amazing group of ladies. I'm an attorney who went from daily hearings/trials to ZOOM Court when Covid began, and we still haven't gone back- so it keeps me busy! We have a retired show dog standard poodle who thinks he's a child and probably as manipulative as a toddler.

GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! --hmmmm.. Well we just moved into our long term home the other month and I can def confirm that Covid Real estate market is insanity and I am so happy to be done with buying and selling!! Also, I've never been into Podcasts but recently got into Armchair Expert and I love it!!
@realhousewife519 Congratulations!!! And yay for another July 19 BMBer:) I think we live fairly close to eachother if I'm not mistaken....Southwestern Ontario here too:) I tried to book labs yesterday and the 20th was the earliest I could get in:/
