Re: Introductions

  • @gembud Right back at you! I don't know what I would have done without you this past year ❤

  • @Panaceia woot woot! Old ladies in the house!

  • @rachelredhead That made me laugh out loud (or lol to all you young uns;)! Love it!

@Panaceia lots of complications but nearing the end.
I hope you have the most boring 9 months ❤️❤️❤️
  • @grogu Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that! I hope things are going a little more smoothly now. FX these last few weeks are uneventful ❤
  • @Jeenyus Congratulations!!! My girls are 5.5 years apart (the youngest just turned 2) and we conceived her the cycle before starting treatment:) I'm in Ontario as well. My sister lives in Northern Ontario (we spent a lot of time there as kids) and my cousin in WAY Northern Ontario. Nice to have a fellow Ontarian on the board;)
  • Hello! I agree, nice to have a fellow Ontarian! I’m the only Canadian in my daughters birth month board.

How do you find the age gap between your two? My daughter has been asking for a sibling for years, I know she will be ecstatic.  I feel like the 6 year age gap may actually be quite nice!

It looks like you have had quite the journey TTC yourself.  Congratulations!

  • @Jeenyus I actually love the age gap! They play so well together and because they are at such different stages they adore eachother without being in competition with eachother...if that makes sense? DD1 did NOT want a sibling so I thought it was going to be a huge adjustment but she took on the big sister role immediately. It's nice that DD1 was totally independent before DD2 came along so she didn't need me to get her drinks, snacks, etc and is great at watching DD2 for a few minutes if I need to get something done. I never planned on having such a big age gap but I love it! It will be interesting to see what it's like having 2 so much closer together now...and DD1 will be 8 when this little nugget gets here!
  • That’s great news, hoping my daughter will step into the big sister role with grace as well.

How interesting that you conceived her the cycle between treatment - my first daughter was the same.  3 rounds of femera, three rounds of IUI, and the month that we took a break before IVF - there she was!

This cycle was the same - we were set to do another round of IUI in July.  You have to love our bodies sense of humour!

  • @Panaceia @Jeenyus Hello to fellow Canadians! I’m in Quebec and pretty sure I was the only Canadian in my O19 board.

My rainbow girl was my 4th pregnancy (DD1 was 5.5 when DD2 was born). We had 2 losses between them, and this is pregnancy #7 for me (so 2 losses after my rainbow girl before we got to this one). I found the stress never left or diminished the entire pregnancy with #2. I'm anticipating the same this time around but I find having @gembud here with me is actually making me feel calmer and more confident. I don't know if your losses were consecutive but all the reading I've done says it is very rare to have 3 consecutive losses...so I'm leaning on those stats right now 😅
  • @geminigirl16 Une autre francophone par chance:)?
  • @jessier19 Going by ovulation my EDD is March 23rd as well:) I got my positive 2 days ago at 9dpo. First day I tested and a nice obvious line popped up immediately! Yay for due date twins!
  • @goldfishcraker Congratulations! And totally not absurd that your gut knew. I 100% believe that we have intuitions about these things!
  • @elle-0409 oh my gosh, yay! How exciting! Congratulations!
  • Good morning! Cautiously dipping my toe in after lurking for a few days!

    Due date?
    3/20 ish

    How did you find out?
We've been trying for over a year so i'm meticulously tracking my cycle. I tested at 11dpo and got a faint line. It's been getting darker over the weekend so i'm hopeful! I told my husband in a very matter of fact way (neither of us are big on "cute") and he's reserved but excited.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have one DD, she's 2.5 and hilarious. I'm a manager for a language interpreting team at a hospital. My husband is a microbiologist. We like to be outside and hike, kayak, and play at the park!

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
Oye. First appt is next week, it'll just be the intake, no US yet. I'm having symptoms, seemingly early to me.. but maybe normal. I'm low level nauseous, crampy, and MOOOODDYYYY whoooo boy. I feel like i have no patience, which i'm not enjoying about myself.

This is my 5th pregnancy, so I'm very anxious. I had one MMC before my daughter, and another MMC and a CP in the last year.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but at the same time, early pregnancy is soooo consuming it's difficult. I'll feel slightly better after an US. For all the losses, we've never gotten to a heartbeat, so i think i'll feel a little more settled when we get to that point. Fingers crossed.

GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself

I perform weddings as a hobby!

  • @Panaceia Je suis anglophone mais je parle français aussi. Et toi?

@elle-0409 Hi! Nice to see that you joined!
  • @geminigirl16 Bilingue.

I am not originally from Quebec and learned french in my twenties so I think I will always remain more comfortable in english.
  • @geminigirl16 I think because the majority of my life is in English that I'm probably more comfortable in English now too...although I forget English words way more often than French words...but that might just be my age showing 😅
  • @Panaceia That makes perfect sense if you spend more time in English. I’m the same way.

The other day I came up with the French word for something for my son faster than my husband and he was like “Damn, how did you do that?!” 😆
  • @geminigirl16 and @Panaceia presumptuous of me to base it on French, but does this mean I've got some fellow Canadians on the board?!
  • @goldfishcraker Ha! Not presumptuous as all:) You are correct!
  • @goldfishcraker Yep, fellow Canadian over here! How are you?
  • @Panaceia and @geminigirl16 yay!! I'm so excited! My last BMB I was the only person living in Canada!! (There were 2 Canadians living in Europe though). The entire rest of the board were ladies from the States.

@realhousewife519 Congratulations!!! And yay for another July 19 BMBer:) I think we live fairly close to eachother if I'm not mistaken....Southwestern Ontario here too:) I tried to book labs yesterday and the 20th was the earliest I could get in:/
  • @Panaceia yikes! I’m in a small town with a little lab that usually takes me as a walk in or on short notice. We shall see!

    @Lcardinal04 welcome!
