Hello @comtessedecle! I'll be 40 shortly after the (hopeful) birth of this baby And after I stop feeling like utter crap all day every day, I'm so down to motivate each other re: working out
Due date? by calculator January 19 (which is also my birthday 😆)
How did you find out? We have been TTC for about 2 cycles. So I was anxious to test and know. I got a faint line at 11 dpo. Kept getting darker from there!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) First time Mom and considered advanced maternal age 😂. DH and I got married right before the pandemic in 2020 (totally coincidental!), but had been together for 5 years prior. I work in mental healthcare, and I love hiking and art-making. 🌳🌿🎨
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) no major symptoms currently (mild nausea and shifts in sleep). Had an eventful weekend though... I had a fever for over 24 hours and decided to go to the ER to be safe. All ended up being well. Dr said it was a virus. The fever went away on it's own. First appointment with obgyn is in 3 weeks (which should put me at 8 weeks).
Due date? January 14th based on the online calculators. I have long cycles due to PCOS so this could be incorrect.
How did you find out? We decided to start trying for baby #2 and I was three days late. Almost instant positive on the pregnancy test!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm a second time mom. I have an almost three year old daughter. I work as a commercial underwriter in the agriculture field for a Chicago based bank.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Nausea has been REAL. I don't remember it being this bad the first time. I have aversions to meat already which is the same as our first but the all day nausea is rough. My first OB appointment is June 10th which would be 8w4d.
Introduce yourself: My name is Kmarie. 31 and having first pregnancy. About 5-6 weeks along. Haven’t had a dating ultrasound yet.
Due date? January 2, 2022
How did you find out? Took cheapies and used FRERs line and digitals to confirm.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
Live with my partner and share his 2 boys (4 and 7) from his previous marriage. We have 2 pitties - 4 years old and 5 months. Just recently adopted the 5 month old. He and I both like to game and watch murder shows (like Snapped). We also take ballroom dancing lessons.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
I was excited. Had the typical symptoms - sore breasts, nausea here and there. I’m nervous now because I’m not sure this pregnancy is progressing as it should... 😬 I will be scouring boards with details and for support.
Introduce yourself: Mid-30s mom from central Texas
Due date? Jan 26
How did you find out? We’d been trying for almost a year so I’ve been testing on day 24 of my 25-day cycle for the past few months, finally got a positive Test this past weekend!
Tell us about yourself: This will be our 3rd and final pregnancy (provided all goes well). We’ve got two boys: a 4 and a half year old and a 2 year old. I’m a Paramedic but I basically extended my maternity leave from baby #2 and then the covid pandemic hit and I didn’t want to risk being on the ambulance and putting my children, spouse, and parents in jeopardy, especially in those early days when we didn’t have enough personal protective equipment. Fortunately my husband (together since 2009, just celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary) has a job in tech that allowed him to work from home this past year and pays enough to cover our rent. So I guess I’m technically a stay-at-home mom for the time being, which has been surprisingly great even though it isn’t what I ever pictured.
How are you feeling? Pretty apprehensive, 3 kids is a lot! When it was taking us a while to get pregnant we sort of talked about how we would be okay with just 2 kids; and with everything happening in the world (pandemic and lockdown, astronomical housing prices, etc) it seemed kinda crazy to even be trying... but I come from a big blended family and always dreamed of at least 3, and we didn’t want to have huge age gaps so this was the timing was right for us, even if it’s not great externally.
How did you find out? Was feeding a little off the last week and took a test... and then another 5.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) This will be my second child. I have a 10 month old son. I most certainly did not plan to have two this close together but here we are. I am 28 and my husband is 33. He is a pharmacist and I just graduated with my doctorate in pharmacy two weeks ago and have a current job offer once I pass my boards.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Im mostly feeling overwhelmed and guilty. I feel bad that my first child won’t get to have as much time as an only child as I would have liked. I also had a very difficult first pregnancy ( I lost 20lbs by the end of first trimester) and I am nervous how I will handle that with a 10 month old at home.
Welcome @beckylookatherbump! I can understand how you're feeling re: guilt about having kids close together. I got pregnant with my 2nd when my 1st was 13 months. Just remember you have months to have some special times with your son before the new one comes. I made it a point to do as much as I could with my first while I was pregnant (well, at least after 1st trimester, haha). I love having my kids so close in age. They're 4.5 and 2.5 now and play together so well, most of the time. Anyway. Hope this pregnancy goes more smoothly for you!
Congratulations! Welcome to Jan Mamas Club. Mom guilt is a real thing, that we can step into and wear like a badge of honor. Don’t! I read blessing all through your post. You have a partner, a career and a healthy baby already. Lean into those things and let go of the guilt. PH D in Pharmacy, so you made it through Organic Chemistry?!? (Raising my mock Mom-osa) Two babies will be a breeze!
Mom of a blended group of five kids, soon to be six. We have three boys born March/July/Dec of 2012, then the next two are 2014&2015. Show them love and all will be well. I don’t even remember how to change a diaper!
Hi all! My name is Sarah, I live in Ontario, Canada. My husband and I have a 2 year old son.
Due date? January 25, I think
How did you find out? Pregnancy test. I tested a few days before my period was due and had the faintest line. I've been testing since to see the line get darker.
My husband's name is Jordan, and son is James. We have a dog named Rosie. I am a registered massage therapist. And am learning how to sew in the little spare time I have. I've been making my son summer clothes since I can't go instore to buy any (we are still in lockdown here in Ontario).
I am feeling mostly normal. A little bit of nausea, more emotional, more tired. I don't have an U/S appointment yet, but have had bloodwork and urinalysis done. Emotionally, I'm guarded as it's still so early in the pregnancy.
How did you find out? My oldest son asked me what we were going to name his baby sister which freaked me out a bit because we had a mishap in April outside of my fertility window so I wasn’t expecting to be pregnant. We just decided to wait another year last month because teaching during this time is so stressful and full of uncertainties. (Oh, making plans... haha) We are super excited for our third and final baby though he or she is a surprise.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have boys who are 5 and 3 years old. Our five year old will start kindergarten next school year. The boys will be 6 and 4 when baby arrives. I am a fifth grade teacher and my husband drives semis. Thankfully he’s local so he’s home each night however his schedule fluctuates daily. We enjoy being outside and camping. I love to read, and I don’t watch TV unless it is with my boys. I’m honestly quite boring, haha.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally? I feel extremely bloated and I’ve lost my appetite. I’m totally unable to eat red meat. Of all things to crave, all I can think about is seafood and sushi which is odd for me. I’m extremely tired as this is the end of the school year and now coupled with pregnancy - WOW. Nausea is all day long, but I’ve not thrown up and I hope that continues. I hate throwing up. I’m extremely concerned about finding a maternity sub willing to do everything I do for my school children and my kids learning virtually. I know we have time to find someone, but finding someone to cover for fifth grade and also teach on camera? My anxiety is through the roof and I’m only six weeks! I have to be mindful and gently pull myself back to the joy of having another little baby.
Hi! I am so nervous to type this but excited to be in this club.
My name is Karen and I am 40 and am currently 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant after an embryo transfer on Sunday May 2 2021. This is my first and will be my only pregnancy.
I froze my eggs in 2013 when I was 33 before treatment for breast cancer (my now husband and I had just started dating so a bit nervous to do embryos back then ha). I had 12 eggs retrieved in frozen at NYU.
After 5 years of treatment we finally got cleared by my oncologist to try for IVF in 2020 but Covid put that on hold. We flew our eggs to California where we live now and we started the process in 2021 at Stanford and on May 2 did our first and only attempt for a biological baby. From the 12 eggs we transferred 3 embryos on day 3. And as of today it looks like one implanted! I am so nervous and scared.
The doctors and nurses warn me my HCG levels are low and they suspect it may not be a viable pregnancy but I know it is. We have nicknamed our little baby Hope and pray she stays with us. (Actually don’t know the sex though).
Tomorrow is our 5th round of blood draws and I hope and pray that my HCG is continuing to rise!
Right now my due date is Jan 20 2022 based on transfer date. Happy to be on this forum. Best of luck to everyone.
Hi Ladies ! It’s great to virtually connect with you all.
Due date? January 7th, 2021 (saw a TON of Jan 7th due dates - something was definitely up on April 21st LOL)
How did you find out? Home pregnancy test - hubby and me literally stared down that test till it processed, but it was a BFP :-)
Tell us about yourself- My hubby and I have been married for 8(!) years. It’s been quite the journey to get here. We have been trying to get to this point with a pregnancy for 2.5 years. I’ve had two ectopics, one resolved with methotrexate, the other resulting in me losing a tube, and a very early miscarriage so we’re super happy to be here. We have a dog and love to travel.
How are you feeling? I think the nausea is definitely kicking in this week. But it just comes in waves. Slightly sore boobs but really no other symptoms. It’s to the point where I’m nervous that everything is going alright, at least until we can get to our next u/s on Wednesday this week. We’ve already had our first one and saw the heartbeat at 5.5 weeks :-)
Looking forward to hearing about and supporting all your journeys ! ❤️
So a quick update on my blood work!! Our HCG has quadrupled since Friday and it’s looking more and more promising! 🙏 I am so excited to be in this club of future mommas. Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Little baby Hope wants to stay with us I know. Still waiting on doctor to call with next steps (test results post online first) but hopefully an ultrasound this week will confirm more and more what I already know. That I’m gonna be a mom!
That's great news, Knottie! Can you do us a favor, though? Can you change your handle to something different so we can recognize you and get to know you better? You have to do it through The Knot.
Yes for sure! I tried yesterday but will try again - this is my first time EVER posting on any chat board so I’m a bit of a Luddite. Also - is there an easier way to get to this chat room? I have the app but then navigate to tools -> community and it takes like 4 clicks for me to get here. Is it easier on desktop maybe?
Ultrasound scheduled for Thursday at 11:30 - amazing!!!
@knottie yeah, it seems to take a couple log ins and outs for the new handle to take hold, it’s weird. And the app is horrible - I do most of my posting on the desktop version. Yay for your ultrasound being so soon!
Hi! Welcome to the January 2022 BMB! Introduce yourself: Hi Everyone!
Due date? January 3
How did you find out? My period was already pretty irregular so my sore and enlarged breasts and random (not so random) nausea were a giveaway! I then took 2 hpt.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) - I am married with three children- 8, 2 & 1 😊❤️❤️❤️ I work in case management but am planning to switch careers in a few months to SAHM. I'm very excited about this. We love spending time as a family and also having date days or nights just for my husband and I, those are needed.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) -I feel fine. A bit fatigued and of course hungry, some nausea and my mouth is always watering. Wishing I could tell more people but also wanting to wait until my first US appointment to really tell anyone at work or in our extended family. 😊
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
This is my 3rd pregnancy- I have 2 bio boys and 1 foster daughter right now. My bump group from Feb 2017 is still kicking and we are incredibly close still. I've met at least 10 in person and it makes my heart so happy. I study autism and young adulthood and teach future educators. I've been married for 8 years and have 2 dogs and a cat. Things are... not calm around here
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I am SO crampy this time around. I have my first appointment 6/3 and I'm going to bring it up only because it is the exact same spot-- which makes me a little nervous, but I'm also just going with the flow. I have ADHD and not being on my meds makes me a grouch-- so mix that with early pregnancy and forget it. No other symptoms, though.
About me: have DS8 from previous marriage, been with H for 5 years, we live in Seattle and both work in Tech. We have two dogs, the youngest is just a puppy we got 3 weeks ago. Thankfully they get along really well.
I’m an older (37) STM. This was a surprise in that we weren’t trying (just not avoiding). H is excited as this is his first. But we’re both cautiously planning and haven’t told anyone since it’s still so early.
First appointment is Jan 15th for ultrasound and blood work. I’m mostly feeling tired and mild cramping.
ETA: I first joined the Bump with DS8 9 years ago, our BMB Facebook group is still very active. Looking forward to going on this journey with all of you :)
How did you find out? TTC for a couple of cycles. My ovulation cramps are pretty regular, and on our first month trying, I felt nothing which was very unusual - but then on the second month, I felt little extra cramping, so I am a little worried about it being twins!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) DH and I have been married for almost 5 years, we have a DD who is just about 21 months. She's awesome so I really can't wait to give her a sibling! My husband and I own our own business. I also take care of our daughter full time, and balancing her and work has been a bit of a struggle this past year. I'm hoping by the time this new baby arrives, I will have reduced my working hours. DH and I love to travel - when we got married we quit our jobs and traveled the world/worked remotely for a few years.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Little more tired this time around, and having some bouts of nausea - all of my symptoms feel like they are happening a lot earlier...which is fueling my paranoia about twins
My last BMB group (including @LJMoon6 - I'm so sad we wont be on this part of our journey together) are such an amazing group of women who have been a huge support throughout pregnancy and beyond. I can't imagine motherhood without them, so I am excited to see what this group will be!
Third kid: Due 11/6 Second kid: Dec 2021 First kid: Sept 2019
Hi all!! I’m a little late but just discovered this thread and excited to join. This is my first pregnancy so this is all new for me!
Due date? January 4th
How did you find out? I found out on April 28th.. I was having some brief lightheadedness and was feeling extra hangry for a few days so I was feeling suspicious but I told myself I’d wait to test until the day of my missed period. We’ve been trying to conceive for 2 years so it was surreal to finally get a positive test!!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I currently live in the upper Midwest w our 2 cats, however we are moving to the East Coast in a few weeks. We both work in health care. I love cooking, gardening, spending time outdoors, and binge watching movies w my husband and cats.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) My first in person appt isn’t until June 9th (10w1d) and I’m going crazy waiting! I’ve been feeling pretty good which makes me nervous but definitely more tired, a little nausea and heightened sense of smell, and getting wild vivid dreams!
Due date? 1/4? We still don't know original I was a December, Chrismas baby, then the DR told me Jan. Whichever it is just want a healthy child.
How did you find out? I couldn't remember when my last PD was. Because I stopped tracking my PD. So one day I took a test and it came back positive. Looking back if my due date is right I found out at 4 weeks! First time for everything.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am a full-time working mom and have 2 beautiful girls 7&3, so my hands are full. I love to hike and spend time with my family.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I think with this pregnancy I've had every symptom. I was Ice cold for one week, morning sickness for another, then 3 weeks of severe morning sickness and at week 9 I am starting to feel back to normal some days. I went to my DR 2 weeks ago thinking I was 8.5 weeks and then I measured at 7 weeks. So going back this week to make sure there is growth. So hopefully good news to come.
Hi everyone! This is my first pregnancy...feeling very nervous!
Glad I found this board though! 😊
Due date? January 25th
How did you find out? I took a test about 5 days before my period...since I knew there was a chance and sure enough, it was a pretty bold positive!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
My fiancé and I are getting married August 7th! I did one of those at home modern fertility tests and was told it will be harder for me to get pregnant....umm that didn’t happen haha. So here we are and I’ll be about 4 months pregnant on our wedding day! But it I am excited and feel blessed.
We live outside of Chicago (I’m originally from NC). I work from home for a clinical research company and we have 2 dogs...my dads 13 year old shepherd/chow mix ( I inherited him when my dad passed away) and a 10 month old Corgi puppy! Keeps us on our toes haha.
I am 36 so I am AMA and a bit nervous about that too. I love traveling, walking outside, shopping, and spending time with family and the dogs.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
My first appointment with ultrasound is this Thursday June 3rd. I was feeling okay and now I honestly feel like crap lol. Nausea, fatigue, and some body aches and hot/cold flashes, and very thirsty!
@nomar610, your username makes me chuckle because one of my kitties is named Omar and he’s very mischievous - so we’ve taken to calling him “Nomar” as in, “No, Omar!”
Hi! Welcome to the January 2022 BMB! Introduce yourself: Hi everyone! My name is Brandi and I live with my husband and our 2 year old son (and my two other sons, our golden retrievers) in Florida. Hubby is a firefighter and I’m a behavior analyst. We like all things water- beach, boat, pool lol
Due date? January 24th-ish?
How did you find out? Took a few tests before my period/a day or two after it was supposed to start and they were negative- which is so weird because I got a positive so early with my son. Tested a couple days later and have had positives ever since (I went a little pee-stick crazy). We tried for one month. Again. We are very blessed but I was so shocked it happened so quickly again, my husband thinks it’s because of his self-proclaimed super sperm 🤦🏻♀️
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I did this above and I’m too lazy to copy and paste on my phone lol
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) just scheduled it for 6/14- so freaking far away but not in the grand scheme of things. This is the worst part of the pregnancy for me- I’m a ball of nerves, google everything and just need to see the dang heartbeat. Biggest symptom is I’m so so gassy, all the time. Lower back hurts and I’ve just been cranky. Excited to be a part of this board and get to know you guys!
Hi, everyone! I know I'm a little late to the party, but being PAIF/PGAL, I didn't want to be overzealous and "jinx" things (because that's how it works...haha).
Due date? January 26
How did you find out? This pregnancy is the result of a FET, so I knew there was an embryo in there, just didn't know if it was going to implant and stick around. I started testing at 5dp5dt and have basically been testing every day since. Beta confirmed at 9dp and doubled at 11dp.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) H and I have been together for almost 13 years and we both work in education. We have two boys (almost 4 & 2) from previous FETs. We love traveling, being outside, going to restaurants/breweries, and watching trash TV after the bedtime.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I have been super anxious as we had a FET that resulted in a CP back in February and some spotting early on, but we were able to see/hear the heartbeat yesterday, so I am finally allowing myself to feel excited! Nausea has started to set in a bit, which is also reassuring. Other than that, no real symptoms to speak of besides being exhausted, though I'm pretty sure I've been exhausted for the past four years. As far as appointments, we've already had quite a few thanks to the scientific nature of our pregnancy. I have two more ultrasounds over the next two weeks with my RE and, if everything looks good, I will then "graduate" to my normal OB.
How did you find out? I was...5 days late and in denial. We were TTA. I think I ovulated early and/or my cycles got messed up after my Moderna vaccine.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets: 3 kids and a dog Job? SLP Things you like to do? read and drink coffee/wine 😭 Spouse/partner?) married too DH for 8 years
How are you feeling? Nauseous, tired, scared, poor...Ha and a little bit excited but mostly nauseous (First appointment? This week!
Hello! My estimated due date is January 12, but I have my first doctors appointment this Thursday. I have an 18 month old son and am a stay at home mom. We live on a farm and raise cattle. My husband and I have been married 8 years, today!
With my son I rarely had any sickness but went through times of being very tired. This time I have had this gagging feeling the whole entire time, I don't know if that's what you consider morning sickness or not. Hasn't effected my eating much but I watch what I eat. I also had horrible indigestion for about a month, it has subsided for now. We are thinking this one will be a girl!
Re: Introductions
Due date? by calculator January 19 (which is also my birthday 😆)
