@Aerialmrs@nasalot188 have you had the dill pickle cashews? SO good. I went through the grocery self checkout the other day with both pickles and ice cream bars. Such a cliche! Better than when I would go through with chocolates and tampons, though. 😂
Speaking of pickles, we normally occasionally buy Strubs dill pickle spears, but jve been getting them more frequently lately because they're just so good and hit the spot!
I've been eating alot of frosted flakes with milk, and red peppers and ranch dip. I'm finally able to eat some healthier things now without wanting to vom which is nice lol
I ate two salads this week!!!! First time in weeks I think I’ve eaten raw veggies. Hoping that I’m over this food aversion hump and can eat more than carbs 🤞🏻
M14 January Siggy Challenge: Resolution I have no intention of keeping...SHOPPING LESS!
Well first I can tell you what I'm not eating, the leftover strawberry fluff "salad" my MIL made for DD's bday party yesterday. I saved some and was going to have it this afternoon. DH just ate it with his lunch😢
Also I was able to stomach the raw veggies I had cut up from yesterday so those will be good snacking items this week.
It's funny everyone is craving similar things. I've been only wanting fresh fruits and raw veggies with ranch for the past few days. It's like my body was starving for actual nutrients and now I can't get enough.
Oh man, I don't know how I keep forgetting to mention it whenever I post in this thread but ever since we got home from our Japan trip just before the pandemic, we've been eating ramen and chicken gyoza frequently and it's amazing and so delish every time. Not healthy by any means, but worth it haha
Contrary to the majority here I am not craving fruits or veggies of any kind. Actually.... I don’t ever really eat them pregnant or not - whoopsie!!!! During my pregnancy with DD I pretty much lived on bagel bites.
I'm pretty excited to get back to work in a couple of weeks. I pack a giant tupperware with veggies, and a second one with fruits. Drinkable yogurt, cheese and meats, crackers, granola bars. I do most of my eating while I drive so I need something easy to eat that requires one hand and little focus. And honestly I think I eat the best while I am working.
I made this creamy tomato gnocchi sausage soup today and can’t stop eating it! I have enough to freeze for two more dinners for me and my husband. If you make it, use your biggest soup pot!
I’m so sick of being picky. Tonight I wandered around our bougie grocery store to find SOMETHING to eat and all I ended up with was cheese, salami, crackers, and olives. So I’m eating a little charcuterie plate but it was literally the only thing that sounded palatable in the whole store.
Dunkin’ Donuts. Frozen coffee (very minimal caffeine grams) and sausage egg & cheese wake up wraps. Hope this kid likes preservatives because I pretty much can’t think of anything worse yet here I am 3x a week finding myself (a LOYAL Starbucks customer) in the Dunkin drive through. Who am I?????
Once these stupid food aversions go away and I can stomach poultry again, I want a turkey dinner with all the fixings: potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, squash...bring it on. 😂 Maybe I can persuade my mom to do Thanksgiving food for Easter. Screw the ham!
@sawasap I love avacado with just a little sprinkle of salt. Yum.
I had a basic hamburger tonight piled high with lettuce, tomato and tons of pickles. So good. First thing today that has actually sounded and tasted good.
@sawasap Last pregnancy, I cut an avocado in half and scooped it out with kettle potato chips. One of the best decisions I've ever made!
@muggsd My aunt makes homemade sweet pickles and they're THE BEST ever. She gave me a jar for Christmas (which I ate in about a week) and my mom brought two jars she's had for a while because she doesn't really like them. I'm really trying to pace myself but I'm on the third jar for the year.
I had my husband hunt down cannoli cream for me on Friday. It was even better than I hoped for. And in a HUGE container! I was hoping for like one cannoli's worth, but got a giant bowl that's lasted like 4 days.
I had H pick up a carrot cake for Easter. Only large was available. So I’m accidentally eating a rather huge slice right now in anticipation of us not being able to finish it while it’s fresh.😬
@agea LOL at "accidentally" eating a large slice. I don't really even like carrot cake but now you're making me want some!
I can't get enough fresh strawberries! But I'm afraid to buy more than one pint at a time in case I wake up the next day with an aversion to them. I've also been hooked on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch. It's the only thing I can stomach that time of day!
@marymh80 Wow! I like the way you think haha. Avocado with kettle chips sounds amazing!
For me, it’s been anything salty. I go for a bag of lays salt and vinegar chips. I’m addicted to them lol. Although, I think I’m going to try the avocado with kettle chips 😉
We went to DH's parents' for dinner on Thursday and I was able to eat a little bit of chicken for the first time since January. Progress! Crazy how it's such a big deal to me.
@emeraldduchess I’ve been the same with meat but I’m weird about meat in general. I always joke I could be a vegetarian if it wasn’t for nicely cooked chicken wings.
@paulpaw same! Buffalo chicken tenders and Thanksgiving turkey are my weaknesses. Other meats I don't really care for (or trust myself to cook properly). I told DH not to get his hopes up about having chicken for dinner any time soon. I still can't walk down the meat aisle at the store in order to buy the chicken. 🤢 The weird thing is, I still love the smell of meat cooking. My neighbors were grilling burgers and chicken this week and I was sitting in my car with the door open just inhaling the smell!
See I’m not into chicken right now but burgers and steak... I could eat that every day! I think I was slightly low on my iron so that makes sense. I’m happy to be starting to be able to eat a range of foods again.
I'm not AS averse to meat as I was in my last pregnancy, but I'm still not really desiring it at all.
I'm still all about fresh fruit salad. And anything similar - sorbet, italian ice ... I wish we had a Rita's water ice closer to home (though it's probably good we don't!).
This might sound gross, but I’ve really been liking chopped up banana covered with a coconut milk/almond butter mixture then sprinkled with a dusting of cinnamon! It’s been my breakfast every day this week!
Also, I’ve been torturing myself by putting hot sauce on most things I eat and then I have the worst heartburn at night... but hot sauce makes everything so much better!
@emjeve I'm doing the same to myself; I craved spicy in my first pregnancy too, but the heartburn wasn't as bad this early. Still can't help myself though...heartburn mid afternoon but will 100% order pizza from the place with spicier pepperoni. I'm telling myself that Tums have calcium so it's fine.
@kissyfir1586 For me it's more things that I could take or leave before are now mandatory. My husband was horrified that I wanted pineapple on pizza for several weeks

Not guacamole. Not avocado on a sandwich. I want to eat an entire avocado. With a spoon.
I have no avocados and the ones at the grocery store are never ripe.

Anyone craving things they normally would not eat pre-pregnancy? I can't get enough zucchini right now. But I hate zucchini 🤣
With DS1 I remember craving hot dogs, when I never liked them before.
