Re: September 2020 FET

  • @crazyladywithacat congrats on halfway and kicks! I’m impressed you have the nursery all set up. We got ours done last time about a week before my due date, haven’t even started figuring out space this time.

@FuzzyDust hope swimming works out for you today :) and I hear you on the emotionally ready to retire bit. Every year after spring, summer and winter break I feel the exact same way 😂 hope your back is feeling better!

I have my anatomy scan on the 11th! I’ll be just over 19 weeks. I’m nervous and excited. Didn’t have an echo with DS - wonder if they’ll recommend one this time?

Update on the rowing machine - I’ve been alternating that and a stationary bike to get my cardio. It was going well until we spent the weekend replacing our living room floor. Getting back into workouts and a work schedule this week, then adding in Pilates and stretching if I can make enough time.

  • Anatomy scan today went well! All looks good and it was great to see bebe. DH wasn’t allowed to come, but at least we got pictures this time! I made sure to ask if their printer had ink. The tech looked at me like I was crazy until I explained, lol.
  • Just got back from my anatomy scan too (20w3d) :) All looks great, baby is about 11oz and measures in about 25% (my first baby was also skinny, so that's normal for me). Hubby was able to come with me (pretty much the only appointment he was allowed to), so that was nice. The also did a very thorough heart scan + echo, and it looked great too. So relieved to hear all those news. Oh, and they confirmed once again that it's still a girl  :D

I have an anterior placenta this time, which explains why I still can't barely feel anything, and was feeling my first starting ~18w. I kinda expected that already. Also have a low-lying placenta, but it's expected to move up as weeks progress, so I'm not worried about that.

To celebrate this milestone, I officially submitted my maternity leave in the HR system at work. I'll be out from mid-May to mid-October with full pay!! And hubby will also be home with me from birth till when he has to go back to work in the last week of August (teacher). I feel so fortunate about all of this  <3

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm definitely enjoying this moment of "no more nauseated" and "not yet too physically uncomfortable"  B)

  • So glad to hear everything went well with you two. Checking the ink is a solid move! @halfanewt I also have an anterior placenta but I could feel lot of movement from week 19 and my DH can feel it too, I wonder if mine is on the top.
My doctor don’t give me specific information I feel, I always have to ask this questions. They just say everything looks good but don’t tell now long the baby is how much he weights now. I mean they are nice but I feel like I have to bring up my concern about the cervix so they will do a scan or I bring up the baby aspirin then she said I should take some. I end up requesting the ultrasound report myself and read every detail maybe I should ask more questions but I don’t always remember to ask the specifics. Kinda frustrating really.
Sorry I was venting. I am trying to be positive and enjoy these months. I know I will miss the kicks if not anything else. I also started the HR process too - Taking 12 weeks off. Not eligible for the maternity benefits (full pay) but with the company’s short term disability insurance and state family leave benefits it’s not too bad in the end.
  • @FuzzyDust I had an anterior with my first and I didn't feel much till 22 weeks or so? Just in case that helps. :)

  • How are you ladies doing? Everyone should now be in the 3rd trimester by now :)

I'm starting to nest, and slowing down on work. Planning to stop working on May 15th. 28w4d today, starting to feel the physicals discomfort of the bigger belly, but no major problems. Lots of movements! I had an ultrasound yesterday to check if my low-lying placenta moved up, and it did - yay! baby is measuring 2.5 pounds and 21%-ile (very similar to my first - I tend to have skinny babies :) )  I'm still about 3lb under my pre-pregnancy weight, but I can really see and feel that my belly is growing while the rest of my body is getting skinnier. Again - same as with my first - pregnancy is my great weight loss plan (regardless of what I eat or how much I move). I still go swimming once a week, and plan to keep doing it, as it's the only exercise that actually feels good right now.

  • @FuzzyDust thanks for checking in! Glad you’re feeling pretty good, all in all! Great news that your placenta moved up and baby is measuring well. Two months left of work foe you! How close is that to your EDD?

I hear you on the starting to nest. Yesterday I rearranged our room to figure out where the bassinet goes and DS’s room so we could move the rocker into our room and update the space for his incoming big kid bed. I can feel it already this morning! Otherwise I’m feeling good overall, just minor complaints here and there. I’m both ready and not at all ready to be in the home stretch, lol
  • @FuzzyDust @halfanewt Glad to hear things are all going quite well!  LOL If only pregnancy were a weight loss program for me!!! 🤣 That sounds like a holy grail. Lol. Enjoy third trimester, ladies! ❤️❤️❤️
  • How is everyone??? Any Sept 2020 FET babies born yet?

I'm 37w3d today. Very pregnant, but feeling actually quite well overall. 2.5 work days left!!!! Can't wait!
11 days till induction (if all goes per plan). I'm being induced at 39w due to my age, IVF baby, and the history of gestational hypertension with my first. Although so far it's been a much easier pregnancy than my first - BP is good, almost no swelling. Only started snoring at night 2 days ago  :D Some heartburn that tums can't handle anymore, but Pepcid did the trick.
I'm really looking forward to the next week when I don't have to work anymore, yet don't need to care for a newborn yet  :)

  • @FuzzyDust glad you’re doing well and hope you're enjoying this week of not working! You’re so close!

I’m 37+4 now and doing well, planning on working through the end of next week, then we’ll see what happens after that. Wrapping up all the work projects is a little stressful, but still working from home is a definite silver lining :)

  • Hi just want to check in. I had my baby boy on 5/18. What a journey, I’m grateful to have you ladies to talk to during the early days. Now that we are in the toughest weeks of being new parents I realize pregnancy was the easy part lol. Hope you both are doing well.
  • @crazyladywithacat congratulations!! Hope you and baby are settling in well 😊

I had my baby boy (2 boys now!) 5/29!
  • congratulations!! It has been very difficult but there are som better days. It’s a mix of no sleep and new parent anxiety. I’m holding on my faith and looking forward to the future when it gets easier like everyone keeps tell me.
  • @crazyladywithacat Congrats!  It is wonderful, but not always easy.  There is a new mama check-in for support on the PAIF board as well. :)
  • I had my baby girl on May 23rd! My family is now complete  <3 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Congrats, ladies, on your babies! And hope you'll be able to catch up on sleep/rest/social life soon. I'm soaking up all the baby snuggles and enjoying occasional 3+ hour sleep stretches at night  :D
