Re: September 2020 FET

  • I just had my suppression check appointment today and we're all good to start estrogen tomorrow - woo-hoo!!!  B)
Per current schedule, the transfer day is Sept 11, which is also my husband's birthday. We'll be using PGS-tested XX embryo, and I'm so so so hopeful for it to work, as I would really love to have a baby girl (plus, the timing would be ideal with her born right before next summer).

Hope to see more people join me on this journey in September  <3

  • I’ll join in!

Finally back after **TW** miscarriage from June transfer *end TW* and set for a natural cycle transfer on the next cycle. Unless we’re SS and get magically KU on our own (wouldn’t that be nice!), transfer should be mid-September!

@fuzzydust love that your transfer date is also DH’s birthday! From your timing comment - are you a teacher?

  • @halfanewt, welcome to the crew! :)
very sorry to hear about your June transfer results :( hoping September will be successful for you! Or even naturally KU - that would be amazing! Do you have to do any drugs/checkups for a natural cycle transfer?

my husband is a teacher :) so if we have a baby right before summer break - we can both be home for 3 months! (I get 20 weeks paid leave at work)

  • @FuzzyDust my clinic treats a natural cycle pretty similarly to an IUI - baseline, monitoring appointments start a few days before O with OPKs at home, trigger, then the big difference is they add a high power progesterone supplement. So not too bad, all in all.

20 weeks for you is amazing! I’m a teacher, too, so I thought that schedule sounded familiar 😉
  • @halfanewt - what form of progesterone will you be doing?
My first FET 3 years ago I did Crinone suppositories to begin with and then switched to PIO (RE was fine with keeping suppositories, but I was freaking out that it wasn't reflecting enough in my blood test resutls :# )
During my failed FET last December I did PIO from the beginning and started to get a pretty bed reaction to it, so this time around we'll do Crinone again.

I'm day 3 of estrogen now, and starting to feel it  :D Considering that I usually don't have periods, it's pretty noticeable sensation when the lining is growing, and I also get all kinds of funky discharge.

I'm feeling good about this transfer. It must work!

  • @FuzzyDust I’ll be on endometrin. It’s what I’ve used both times (2 years ago and June) and I’m not a big fan of needles so I won’t complain 😊

Sorry you had a bad reaction to PIO - that sounds doubly unpleasant! How long are you on estrogen?
  • FuzzyDustFuzzyDust member

@halfanewt  Endometrin sounds pretty good, my assumption that it's even easier than Crinone, as there is less mess from it :) How long do you need to take it for?
Are you just waiting for your period to start at this point?

I'm on estrogen for ~3 weeks before transfer. Progesterone is added on the last 5 days of it. And if transfer is a success, then I'll keep taking estrogen until 10 weeks, and progesterone until 12 weeks.

I'm on day 6 of estrogen today, and things are progressing down there, I can tell  :D 9 more days till the lining check appointment 🤞

  • @fuzzydust it’s not too bad, though it has its own mess. I had a bunch of spotting on it last time, though none 2 years ago, so it’ll be interesting to see if that happens again. I think it was irritation and RE is unconcerned, but 🤷‍♀️ I only take it 5 days pre-transfer until 10 weeks if it’s a success. Crazy how every place is different. Didn’t realize you’d be on estrogen that long!

Yep, just waiting now. 8dpo today, so probably not too much longer. This unexplained diagnosis has me always hopeful, though, so 🙄 at myself but also 🤞, lol.

The waiting game is killer, isn’t it? Hope your 9 days fly by! And thank you for starting this one, by the way. It’s nice to have someone to chat with while waiting 😁
  • @halfanewt , I do keep hearing about spotting with suppositories, and I assume that most of the time it's from the irritation of things inside, not actually coming from uterus. Hoping that neither of us has problems with it this cycle!

Although that would be awesome if a few days/weeks from now you don't get a period, but a BFP instead :D I love when things like that happen on this board. fingers crossed!  :D

Yeah, waiting is the worst, and with COVID around, it's mostly quiet on IVF forums, so it's much harder to find cycle buddies.

  • @FuzzyDust and my short LP strikes again. CD 1 of course falls on a weekend. Hate dealing with their answering service. Ah, well. At least the ball is now rolling again!
  • @halfanewt, woo-hoo for the cycle starting! Sorry you have to deal with the weekend answering machine. My clinic has really good online portal with scheduling appointments and very responsive to emails, so I don’t think I ever call them.
good luck!!! When will they tell you the transfer day?

I’m less than a week from the lining check appointment now! And feeling better with less discomfort down there. I remember my old doctor telling me that uterus is like a balloon - it’s harder in the very beginning, but once it starts inflating, it gets easier. Hopefully this means I have a nice think lining growing 🤞🏼

  • @FuzzyDust a little jealous you never have to call! My nurse is very responsive to emails, but they always make you call to schedule. No online scheduler, either. For being a big city clinic they are pretty old school when it comes to front end stuff.

That’s an awesome analogy, lol! Now I’m picturing an internal balloon. Hope the rest of this week flies by for you!

Transfer date depends on ovulation/trigger timing which makes it a little variable, but I’d guess around the 19th. Just had my “suppression check” - it amuses me that they still call it that - and all looks good. My next appointment isn’t until the 10th, so now to settle in and think thick lining thoughts.

  • @halfanewt - grow, lining, grow!!!  :D

Sounds like you're about a week behind me for the transfer day :) I'm heading for the lining check on Sat!

  • @FuzzyDust I was just logging in to wish you good luck! Yay for thick lining!
  • 8/29 ER and 1 fresh transfer on 9/3, 7 frozen, on Endometrin 3 times/day, waiting for pregnancy this Sunday (9/13). Time is sooooo slow and I don't see any signs.... very anxious! HELP
  • @crazyladywithacat - congrats on being PUPO!!! Best of luck! No signs doesn’t mean anything, especially considering that you just did IVF and your body was full of the same hormones that the pregnancy would produce. But year, I hear you 2ww is the worst!!!
also, congrats on 7 frozen embies- that’s a great result!

@halfanewt - good luck with the lining check appointment tomorrow! 🤞🏼

I’m 2 days to the transfer day (and DH b-day!) ☺️ Should get a call today about the time I’ll need to come in for it. Crinone is a big mess, and it’s doing something to my ovaries (usually super quiet, I’m so aware of them right now) 😬 but other than that - I’m feeling great!
I’m expecting the next work week to be super busy, which is good - I’ll definitely need some distraction during the 2ww. Just need to find some weekend entertainment too, maybe apple picking on a farm. Beta date is Sept 20, but I’m fully expecting myself to pee on a stick way before then 😆

  • Thanks and best of luck with your transfer day! I was surprised with 7 frozen embryos since my doctor told me they are targeting 15 follicles (I guess to reduce the risk of OHSS) but I got 22 follicles (def gave myself a pat on the back)

Endometrin is also quite messy. I have to change panty liner a lot during the day. Also, I saw some light pink discharge this morning, normally pure white from the Endometrin. I wonder if it's spotting from the implantation? I'm trying to stay positive and hopeful.

Some distraction is great. I had some friends over Labor day weekend so the time can go by fast, but i had to lie when they offered me Oysters and wine they brought over.... apple picking is a great idea, maybe I will try that this weekend before the results come in.

I heard pee on a stick isnt accurate for IVF patients?
  • @crazyladywithacat good luck on Sunday! TWW is the worst!

@FuzzyDust good luck tomorrow! What time do you go in? And happy early b-day to DH :)

Today has been an adventure. Got a positive OPK this am (I never O this early), everything checked out on the US, and we’re set for a transfer on the 16th! I was counting on it being Friday at the earliest, so making up an excuse for work on Wednesday will be interesting since it’s usually my heavy meeting day. In between my AM appointment and the confirmation call, I got to take DH to the ER for 6 stitches since he sliced his finger open! And attempt to get work done at work. And it’s not even 2pm 😆
  • Thanks @halfanewt! I'm losing my mind researching on every little signs or no signs. I got laid off during Covid so schedule has been great but stress level has been even higher.

Making up excuses is the hardest since I'm not a very good liar. I did some tests when I was working, I basically 'had a fender bender accident' and had to 'drop the car off at the shop' once and 'pick it up' once.

@fuzzydust Good luck tomorrow and happy birthday to DH
  • Hi, everyone! My transfer was on the 7th, and Beta will be on the 16th. Keeping you all in my prayers for successful pregnancies.
  • @crazyladywithacat, I think hpt isn’t recommend after IVF because the ovulation trigger isn’t the same as pregnancy hormone, so you might get a false positive from it. Only 3 days left for you till the Beta! Good luck! 🤞🏼

@halfanewt, yay for being ahead of the schedule! And ouch on all the stitches - sorry to hear that about your DH. I took mine in for the same thing 2 years ago 🤣

knottie- good luck! Hope 2ww flies by for you!

thank you all for the good wishes tomorrow! I’m very excited about it! Just needs to still remember to say “happy birthday” to DH 😅
transfer is in the early afternoon, so I’m still planning to do some work, then meet up with a friend for a stroll in a park (apparently she found a uterus-shaped rock in a creek there and it’s been “my” rock for a while now 🤣, so we’re need to visit together for good luck), and then head to the clinic. Next time I check in here, I’ll be PUPO!

@knottieade44a1dca4335a3 2WW is so tough but come check in once a while we can keep each other company and fight against anxiety
  • and just like that - I'm PUPO and joining the ladies in 2ww :) All went smoothly. I told husband "going to go pick up our daughter" before heading to the clinic :) Our little embie was thawed perfectly and I got to see it on the screen being loaded into the catheter (my old clinic didn't have that!). A beautiful hatching blast - it grew almost twice the size since being thawed in the morning. They also gave me a card with an embie photo from the morning, and I presented it as a birthday card to DH  :)

Didn't end up going to a park with a friend, as the air quality in our area is "unhealthy for all" due to forest fires and smoke being blown into the city. But that's ok - I know my "uterus rock" is there.

  • @FuzzyDust - That sounds like an amazing day and certainly a memorable BD for your husband.  I’ll be sending good energy your way over the next couple weeks 🤞
  • Just wanted to drop a quick note to wish everyone luck. Sending positive thoughts and hope to see some good news coming through soon.
  • @halfanewt I hope your DH is healing well. Praying everything goes well on the 16th for you.

@crazyladywithacat Congrats on the new job! Praying that yours is not a false positive, and Sunday brings confirmation of positive!

@FuzzyDust Awesome prezzie for your DH! Congrats on PUPO! Keeping you in my prayers. Also, I hear you about the air quality, I'm in an area affected by the fires as well. The on/off orange sky and pink/red moon the past 2 weeks has been not helped with mood for sure.
  • @crazyladywithacat - I trust that positive test! This later after transfer, it better be the real thing!!!! Good luck with the Betta! Update us on the results when you find out! Good luck! Oh, and congrats on the new job!!!

Knottie - I know! The orange skies make everything look like we're on Mars. I'm really looking forward being able to go on walks outside again.

  • @crazyladywithacat good luck today! And congrats on the job offer!

@FuzzyDust congrats on PUPO! Hope you’re enjoying DHs bday weekend, even with being inside.

@fuzzydust and @knottie Where(ish) are you, if I can ask? I’m in Western WA and we’ve been pretty much stuck inside since Tuesday...

Yaas!!! Congrats, @crazyladywithacat!!!! That’s a great number! I know what you mean about being scared to celebrate until you have the baby in hands. But as of today - all is aligning as well as it could at this point in the process ❤️ good luck with second Beta!

@halfanewt , I’m in Grater Seattle area, so we’re close :) really hoping for the smoke to clear out soon 😞

2ww is rough! But I’m feeling good about this transfer, so overall very hopeful. I’m only 2dpt, so it’s way early for anything, but I’m already imagining all the symptoms 😅

  • @fuzzydustThanks! And yes, one small step at a time, today is a good day.

I was hypersensitive about my body during the 2ww. That's why I was getting worried about having no signs. Apart from the implantation bleeding (I wasn't even sure at the time) that lasted approximately 8 hours 6dpt, I had no symptoms.

  • @halfanewt I'm in the South Bay of California.  There are so many fires around the west coast right now.
  • I have zero penitence for anything right now :D I'm living in my own head and trying to stay sane during the 2ww.

I also peed on a stick today. 4 days post transfer (a hatching blast). I swear, if I turn the test to the light, I can see "a hint of where the line should be". DH can't see it (but I have better eyes, and I don't think he understands what "a line is a line" means :D ). I can't really call it a line yet, but this makes me hopeful for tomorrow!

How is everyone else doing so far?

  • Good luck for tomorrow @halfanewt and @ffm11

  • @fuzzyDust I feel hopeful for you too. A line is a LINE! My line was super light before my 1st beta test, only 10 days after my 5day embryo transfer. Just keep doing it until it turns into that BFP! FX for my 2nd beta tomorrow
  • **lurking**

SUPER HOPEFUL for you, too! @FuzzyDust  fx that squinter gets darker each day...! ❤️❤️❤️
  • @ffm11 - hope your beta will be positive today!!!

@halfanewt - good luck with the transfer!

@crazyladywithacat - good luck with the second beta!

DH couldn’t see the line I saw on my yesterday’s morning HPT, so he asked me to pee on the stick again in the evening 😆 the line is there for sure, very faint, but even DH can see it now. I tested again this morning (5dpt) and it’s a tiny bit darker, but barely. I’m so cautiously optimistic! Beta in 4 days.
Air quality outside is still really bad, so we’re stuck inside. I’m really looking forward getting back to my morning walks. My body is getting very restless with the stress of the process, the hormones, and the lack of physical outlet.

Second beta 479, scheduling the 1st US in Oct.

@FuzzyDust I probably would test every 8 hours if I were you, just to see the line gets darker and darker each time. FX for you.
