@runningoncookies same, DH does the store, breakfast and dinners. Nothing fancy, mostly frozen stuff popped in the oven. But better him than me. I make an occasional grocery run for myself only to peruse the aisles and try to find palatable options.
@runningoncookies I wish DH would pitch in when it comes to cooking. But it takes a fair amount of begging and he makes the stinkiest things. He cooked last night for himself (the kids and I had cereal), and he made some sort of seafood garlic pasta. I had the windows all open, despite it being 20 degrees outside. I was about the star in that show "Snapped" 🙄
I attempted grocery shopping yesterday and it didn't go well. Walking past the meat made me turn green. DH wanted a rotisserie chicken and I was so happy they were out. I don't think I could have handled having that in the house.
runningoncookies same here. H does almost everything food related. I think I’ve made like 3 dinners in the past 2 weeks (and once they’re done I can’t stomach eating it)!
@whatabout2ndbreakfast can your DH at least cook? Mine can't. I told him that I need to teach him how to make a few basic meals so he's not eating cereal all day everyday.
@emeraldduchess he can cook, it’s just sometimes questionable choices like two meats for dinner and never a vegetable. He’s very good at making pancakes!
@runningoncookies I freaking love Annie's. I'm still meal planning and cooking but TBH once I actually make dinner I often get nauseated when I sit down to eat. But I'm slightly type A so my cooking is mostly so I can control what we have for dinner since my DH would never serve veggies.
I've been doing all of the shopping and my husband does all the cooking currently. He is by far a better cook than me and far more nuanced with flavours. But when it comes to making our weekly grocery list he is no help. We end up throwing away so much produce because he simply doesn't use it. He also refuses to meal plan at all. Then he has the audacity to tell me that I am bad at grocery shopping.
I successfully ate an egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin this morning! Big win for me. I haven’t been able to stomach eggs probably since week 6.
@runningoncookies I’m starting to eat more and better in the last 5 days, since just before 11 weeks. It’s a game changer. I feel like I can finally see the light! how many weeks are you now?
@agea YES! I’m 11 weeks today and I’m hoping it’s the start of my turn for the better haha! Def got more nutrients in today than I have been in the past month.
@sawasap mangos sound good now.... Ive been craving fruit randomly. Yesterday I thought about strawberries, sent DH to the store for them. Ended up eating an entire pint in one sitting. Gonna go get more
Anyone else's cravings hitting hard right now? Just me?! I mean, most things still sound bad, but then an idea pops into my head and I NEED it lol. Anyway, I had a really good day yesterday (the best I've had in a month) with very little morning sickness till the evening. Went to cheesecake factory with my mom and had the Skinnylicious Chopped Salad. Maybe it's the pregnancy talking, but that was seriously the BEST salad I've ever had (and probably the most nutritious thing I've eaten in weeks!). Still sitting here thinking about it 😆
I'm in a place right now where, no matter what I eat, as soon as I'm done eating it, I want another one. My body seems to think all the food is the best food. So glad I still can't deal with sweets, otherwise I'd be in big trouble.
Crawfish are coming in season and I’ve just found a supplier that gets them live from Louisiana. I can’t wait to pick up 10 pounds of them and do a personal boil!
As a kid I used to have a bowl of cereal with heavily buttered toast, and dip my toast into the sugary cereal milk. I've brought that back and it's my regular breakfast now!
No matter how much I eat for breakfast or how many snacks I add, I’m still sick hungry before lunchtime. Wtf. today I had an instant breakfast and an apple then picked up from Starbucks a breakfast sandwich, chocolate croissant, and banana bread. And I was still hungry. I feel like the very hungry caterpillar. and even so, most things still sound unappetizing.
@agea I totally understand. I'm eating a minimum of two breakfasts now plus a snack to get through to lunch. Then I'm usually fine from lunch to dinner. It's just mornings for some reason!
Food aversion is still pretty strong here. Does anyone else find the thought of cooking nauseating, not just certain foods? Friday nights I always make pizza at home and this week I could barely stomach the thought of making it. I was wishing I'd bought a frozen pizza to just throw in the oven. I powered through and was able to cook and eat it, thank goodness. I still can't stomach vegetables, which is why I am thisclose to buying some V8 Splash today. The closest I have been to vegetables has been tomato soup and Birdseye veggie pasta. I am baking Greek yogurt blueberry bread today and I'm so excited. It uses honey instead of sugar, and the yogurt takes the place of butter and oil. So even though it's carbs, I feel like I am getting at least a little nutrition.
@emeraldduchess yes totally. I’ve had H do the majority of the cooking bc I hate looking at / smelling most things. I try to worry less about vegetables at this stage and more about eating whatever option makes me feel best. How do you feel about smoothies?
@agea unfortunately DH can't cook, so I'm stuck doing the meal planning. I love smoothies, so it's been a good way to get some bananas and berries. I was eating a lot of applesauce this week, too.
@emeraldduchess enjoy those strawberrries! I ate another pint today 😜.
I am still having a big issue cooking also. I bought a bunch of freezer meals/easy stuff my husband can handle (he typically never cooks). The only veggies I've been able to eat have been simple salads and canned green beans. With all the digestive issues I've been having lately, I've been afraid of any other veggies that might aggravate my stomach.
Not so much a food. But I've been really into pop lately. Which is especially weird because I rarely drink it. More specifically root beer and Dr. Pepper.
@nasalot188 I normally don't care for Caesar dressing but the other night we got takeout (Caesar salads included) and I wanted to call the restaurant and ask to buy a vat of it!
As for me, just tried to cut up a rotisserie chicken for DH and I and started dry-heaving as soon as I took the lid off the carton. Fun times. 😭 Looks like it's tomato soup for me again tonight. Going to have some Greek yogurt so I can get a smidge of protein. I swear this baby is paying me back for being a finicky eater as a kid.
Tonight was the first time this entire 1st trimester that I was so hungry and absolutely nothing sounded good. We wound up getting tacos (which I love) and I was like ugh this isn’t what I wanted. But I don’t know what I want either, so I’ll just eat it. 😂

I read an article recently about women who crave things like laundry detergent and chalk. Now that's weird 🤣
