How did you find out? I just had a weird feeling one day, dug out a test, and was shocked to see a faint line. It's become a nice dye stealer since then.
Tell us about yourself: My husband and I will have been married for 10 years in March. We decided about 3 years into our marriage to start trying for a baby. Following lots of tests, fertility meds, IUI's, etc., we became pregnant naturally in November of 2016 with our son, Everett. Unfortunately, we lost him at 15 weeks and I delivered our little boy on March 1, 2017. We learned on April 30th, less than a month later, that we were pregnant again! Following an extremely anxiety-filled pregnancy, emergency c-section due to ALL kinds of issues, we had our rainbow baby girl, Charlotte Christine who we call Charlee. She was a complete miracle, a month early and only weighing 4 lbs 10 oz. The most of amazing thing was she has no time NICU time. The nurses said she was the smallest baby they had ever seen not come from the NICU! She is now a three year old fiery redhead! Over the past couple of years, we couldn't decide whether or not we wanted to try again due to everything we went through. I felt like I should just get off the birth control, so we did. It's been a tough year. My dad passed away suddenly at 56 years old on October 7th and I learned about 2 and a half weeks ago that we were shockingly pregnant. I'm very anxious. Dealing with heavy grief while pregnant is so hard. But I'm praying for a healthy (and last!) baby!
Haven't been trying, and my cycle has been pretty off since my last pregnancy. Last month I brought up just a discussion of maaaaybe having another one, just to see my husband's reaction more than anything. He said no way! I work all day in the legal field (he stays home) and he works evenings in food service (I stay home), we have a 3 (almost 4) year old and a 2 year old. And we are 42 years old! Sooo...I totally get his hesitation, I mean I kind of agreed with him even! I just threw it out into the universe and here we are.....
I had all these crazy pregnancy symptoms, major cramping 3-4 DPO, then nausea, bloating, frequent urination...classic pregnancy signs for me but also really early. I snuck out and took a test at the drug store at what woulda been prob 5 days before my missed period. Stark negative. But it was also in the evening. Breathed....validated my concerns about not being capable of handling #3, and realized we gotta be more careful! Christmas morning, I am now 2 days late so I ran up after breakfast to take the second test from the pack and instantly get the line. Fist pumping, "I KNEW this, I know my body!!" quickly followed by intense shock and panic. I went downstairs having no idea how to tell him (how to people keep this secret from their spouse's for more than 3 minutes?!) and I saw the untouched stockings we had forgotten to open and I tossed it in his. He was not even that surprised!
Due date: 8/30 although I will prob get induced a week early due to having some really jumbo babies....
First appt: Jan 14 at 7.5 weeks. I pushed hard for that, receptionist insisted on giving me an 8-10 week appt. I've never had an appt so late, I've had ultrasounds sooner than that! And I am extra nervous this time around. >40, covid, 2 little ones to worry about, now insulin resistant, and I was on a medication not reccomended during pregnancy....let me in there!!!!
August 19 based on LMP (3 days after my birthday😜)
How did you find out?
We were TTC once he got back stateside from a tour. I suspected my Ovia app was wrong with my expected period for December (I was sure I was 2 weeks late.) So I took an at home pregnancy test Christmas Eve and got 2 positives. Then I went to the lab at hospital yesterday for confirmation, a nurse called this afternoon to confirm a positive test (it’s how my OB works they told me to walk I to the lab.)
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
My DH and I have been married 5 years he is a serviceman and we have 2 daughters. Our oldest is 8 (she is his bonus daughter) we also have a 2yr old and we have a pet cat named Hazel. I’m currently a SAHM but have my CNA license. I’ve been going to school on and off but took a break since having our youngest. I’d really like to go back to school to be a radiological tech, there’s a college off post with this program so I’ll look further into it.
First appointment? Any symptoms? My first appointment is set for January 21st but it’s mainly a get to know you. The actual fetal appointment is set for January 28th.
So far I’m just my stomach is a little off and I have some cramps but no aversions yet.
Hi everyone! Been lurking for a few days since my EDD is borderline and I feel like it's still so early but this seems like a fun/nice board so decided to jump in!
Due date? Aug 31 by LMP
How did you find out? POAS christmas eve bc I wanted to see if I could have wine with dinner. 😆😆
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have a newly minted 2 yo girl. MH and I will be married 10 yrs this spring. We both work in medicine and have a rescue dog and cat. I like to read (more nonfiction, though have loved the Robert Galbraith series), podcasts and just hanging out with my daughter. Peloton is the new obsession.
First appointment? Any symptoms? Haven't called to make an appt yet. I'll probably do that next week. Last time they didn't want to see me until almost week 9? Also trying to see if I'm going back to the midwife group or just use the OBGyn group at my work 🤔. Just tired and mildly nauseous but that could just be in my head...
@hannelorre welcome and be sure to jump into the Health and Fitness thread, I was just asking people over there for more info about Peloton and would love to hear your opinion!
How did you find out? I had a sneaking suspicion due to not using protection 1 time. Literally once 🤦🏼♀️
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have 4 kids, ages 6, 5, 3, & 1. My husband and I thought we were done but are in for a surprise for more! We live on a farm in Minnesota where I am obsessed with my chickens, homeschool my kids and enjoy a lot of baking. I’m also a graphic designer in my “free time” aka in the evenings when my kids go to bed.
First appointment? Any symptoms?
My first appt was December 7th but baby was too little so I went back the 22nd and we got some great 4D photos so we could tell out kids on Christmas Eve. I’m wiped, throw up often and my boobs are ginormous.
How did you find out? I had COVID & had to go to the hospital due to my breathing issues. The x ray tech asked me if I was pregnant and it got me thinking then I realized I hadn’t been pmsing like I was supposed to. I have pcos so my cycles are all over the place. When I got home I tested and it was positive!
Tell us about yourself...I have a 7 year old boy & this will be my first baby with my BF of 2 years. We have a 1.5 year old pit mix named Misha. We love going to six flags on the weekends (wahhh no more coasters) & just staying active as much as we can. BF & I work for UHC transportation but different departments.
First Appt, etc... 1/21 & I’m super nauseous, I vomit almost everything but crave steak like crazy. I’m exhausted, I get headaches, my boobs are sore & I have a touch of acne.
Happy to be back! I was a part of the July13 group waaay back haha
A lot better! They gave me an inhaler and it was an instant relief. The last 2 weeks my breathing has improved dramatically, I don’t get winded like I used to. Doc says the pneumonia has cleared and I was able to go back to work Wednesday. I’m also back to my workout routine this week but of course modified & I do get tired a little more easily.
Hello! I've been lurking for a while but haven't been able to post since I'm having phone issues (as always!) It's good to officially be part of this group.
Due date: August 6th according to LMP and ultrasound at 8 weeks
Found out: I had the suspicion that I was pregnant around Thanksgiving when I started having crazy cravings for green olives. That had been a telltale sign in other pregnancies. We had gone out of town for Thanksgiving, but when I returned I took a test. The rest is history.
I have two older children: a 6-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. I had been a highschool teacher for the last 10 years, but I quit working in August so I could stay home and homeschool my son. Remote learning was not going to be something that was effective for anyone in our family. Now, I am trying to find a balance between homeschooling my son, giving my daughter one-on-one attention, and taking care of myself.
First appt: I had my first in-person appointment on December 28th. It definitely felt more real after seeing that ultrasound and hearing that heartbeat! Because of my weight, I am considered high risk for developing gestational diabetes. Fortunately, I passed the intial blood test they gave me at my last appointment. I haven't had GD with any other pregnancy so I'm hoping that this one follows the same pattern.
How did you find out? We had been trying for a while, started testing around 8 dpo and got positive around 9 days.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have a 4 year old (just turned 4 two days ago!) and a 1 year old, will be 2 in March. I'm a hospital doctor. I used to like doing home reno stuff before this morning sickness started, now I can't remember anything I like to do, lol. My other half is super supportive, thank goodness!
First appointment? Any symptoms? I have my first appointment this week with ultrasound. I've done my own ultrasounds at work a few times so I've seen the little blob and heartbeat already a few times. I've been feeling terrible. All day and night (literally wake up at night) sickness. And exhaustion.
Hi all! I **think** due date will be around August 27th.
How did you find out? Got a BFP today! Very unexpected, so I'm a little overwhelmed but happy. My "period" last month was very short. Talking less than 48 hours and very mild. I thought it was weird but just took it as an off month. Fast forward to this month and having symptoms over the last few weeks so I opted to take a test today.
Tell us about yourself - I've been married 10 years. We have 2 kids - DD turned 7 in October and DS turned 5 last month. I'm a Marketing Director for a staffing company and my husband is a regional sales manager for Benjamin Moore (paints).
First appt - next Thursday. I've been tired, fatigue has set in, some food aversions, and boobs are tender/big.
This is crazy!!!! Praying for sticky babies for all!
Hi everyone! First time mommy here! Our due date is August 15th, a day after my husband's birthday! We had been trying for a few months so I peed on several sticks and got my positive around December 9th. My husband and I have been together for over 9 years, recently married. We have a little dog that we love to death. I am an accountant and love spending my free time with friends and family. I had two back to back chemical pregnancies this year so I had my first appointment at 5 weeks, 2 days. Went back at 8 weeks, 2 days and baby is growing! I've been very nauseous but haven't thrown up. There's not too much that sounds appetizing.
My name is Michelle and we are expecting baby #3 on august 20th!!
I am a labor delivery nurse and my hubs in an ICU nurse. My boys are 6 and 3.5 years old. We have / doggies! Hamilton is a 1 year old golden doddle and Ke$ha is an 11 year old rescue who has epilepsy.
My hubs and I are 33 years old and have been together for 20 years! (Married for 9). 💙
i am now 10w1d. I have been SICK AS A DOG. Which I wasn’t with my boys so I wasn’t expecting it. I had 1 US at 8w, and I was able to play around at work briefly last night and sneak a peek and see the babe wiggling all around. All the feels 😍
my family is huge campers. We spent all last summer working and camping on our off days. We love the beach, outdoors, anything with fresh air!
Due date? 8/22 per u/s because I had no idea of LMP
How did you find out? Took a test the day after Christmas after wondering for about two weeks but not wanting to bother with it If it was going to be negative.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) We’ve been married for 10+ years and when we found out we had been trying for exactly 10 years and one month. So actually, haven’t been trying the last several years and gave up on having biological children. We have two kiddos adopted from foster care who are our first precious babies. But this pregnancy is still long awaited and just as precious. I’m currently a stay at home mom.
First appointment? Any symptoms? Had a pregnancy confirmation and dating ultrasound already, have next appt scheduled soon.
Due date? August 31 - will most likely have to be induced early as I have had Cholestasis with my last two babes.
How did you find out? I had implantation spotting in the middle of December. At first I thought I got my period but it stopped almost as quickly as it started. I took a test a week or so later and it was VERY faint. I also almost fainted. This babe is an unexpected but happy surprise
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) MH and I have 3 other babes. 2 girls and 1 boy. We have 1 dog and 1 cat(Anyone want a new cat?!?!? ) We are currently remodeling our home so we hope to have it at least livable before this babe comes!
First appointment? Any symptoms? I had my first appointment already and got to see the heart beat. I am roughly 9 weeks now. I have been really really sick but it has gotten a little better the last two days.
Hello All!! My technical Due Date is Sep 4th, but this is my third pregnancy and I have gone 2 & 3 weeks early previously so fully expect a late August Due Date here (will be planned C Section).
My story: I have three Daughters from my previous marriage and then I got divorced and remarried 5 years ago. My husband never had kids so we decided to go through IVF to try (my tubes were tied after my twins were born 11 years ago). I am 45 now, and when I started IVF at 43, we tried 2 rounds of retrievals and although we got plenty of eggs that made decent looking embryos, they all tested abnormal. So we moved onto donor eggs. My first round of DE was a BFN, but my second one has stuck so far!! I look forward to getting to know you all!
My symptoms have been worse in this pregnancy than my previous ones (maybe because I am older). I had all day nausea and sore boobs. But that's all. Nothing major. I had implantation spotting from day 6-8 after my transfer so expected that things worked which they did!
I have had two appointments so far. First with my RE where we saw they baby with HB at 7wks. Two weeks ago I saw my OB for the first time at 9wks and baby had grown perfectly. I am to go back in two weeks for NIPT testing around 13wks.

Hi everyone! Decided to finally jump in after hitting the 12 week mark
Due date? Aug 27
How did you find out? I track my cycle & noticed immediately when I was late! Very much a surprise but super excited.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I have been married for 10 years, we have a 10 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. Guess we just like the 5 year age gaps 🤪 I am a personal trainer & my husband works in construction.
First appointment? Any symptoms? Originally thought my due date was Sept 2, but after first appt baby was measuring a week early. So happy to finally be over the all day nausea and food aversions!
@fitmomma1989 how is the 5 year gap? Mine will be 5 years apart too and I don't know anyone else with such a big gap except myself - my older sibs are 8 & 10 years older, but my parents also had one after me close in age. Welcome to the group!
Married DW 08.2013; AI 2x; IUI 6x; IUI #7 05.2015; DD born 2.2016 ; Reciprocal IVF FET #1 on 11.18.2020
@claireloSC I personally love it! I love that I got to have 5 years with my oldest & then our son came. She was more independent and able to help when he was born. I also loved that she was headed into Kinder & I got to have one-on-one time with baby.
They are 10 & 5 now and play really well together even with the 5 year age gap
@claireloSC DD1 and DD2 have a 6 year age gap and they get along very well. Of course toddler tantrums can be frustrating for her when she’s trying to play and share. She’s been such a big help from the beginning though. I feel there was a bit of jealousy but everyone was getting used to the new addition with DD2. I’m more concerned about DD2 and new baby now 😅
+1 to the 5 year age gap question! Good to hear from those that have enjoyed the 5-year gap. My first two are 25 months apart (now 5 and 7) and so this 3rd will be born right when DS is going to kinder.
Thanks, that's helpful! I just don't want DD1 to feel too left out when DD2 is getting more 'attention'. DD1 is very much a mama's girl and wants a lot of time and attention from me.

Hello!! First time mommy to be here. EDD is Aug 5, 17 weeks today. I was two weeks late so took a test and got some strong double lines lol
Had really bad morning sickness for first 14 weeks but finally feeling better. Very tired (idk where this second trimester energy is but I don't have it lol) My boyfriend has been amazing and so helpful doing lots of chores around the house for me Finally meet my OB and I've had a few ultrasounds now, I cry everytime!! Haha my gender ultrasound is 3 weeks away and we are very excited!
@knottie7b4aaa49241775ce welcome! If you plan on sticking around I'd suggest you change your user name 🙂 you may have to go to the knot to update it though.
I found out when I POAS, but was not expecting a BFP. Got married in Sept, removed my Mirena, and were in the mindset of being happy if it happened but ok if it didn’t. I tested more times than I’d like to admit to and the day I got the BFP actually blew me out of the water because I was testing but expecting another negative. 😂
This is my second child- I have a 5 year old DD from a previous relationship, and this is my husbands first child. I’m a professor, so this fall will be interesting to say the least- I’m going to have one class online first half of fall and go face to face second half of the semester. I like to stay active, and started teaching group fitness classes earlier this year. I’m also into beekeeping, but it looks like I’ll have to wait one more year to get started with my own hive.
I had a lot of anxiety about this pregnancy prior to my first appointment in January . It was in part the anxiety that made me wait to schedule my first appointment, etc. Now symptoms are mostly not sleeping well but I finally caved and got a pregnancy pillow so I’m slowly getting better.
@lmattox18 Welcome! I believe @pickle-chips is also in academia! My wife is a professor as well. That sounds like a rough semester, you're a tough mama! Do you not get any paid leave? Sorry for the anxiety - a lot of others on here feel the same so feel free to share with us and get some support!

@claireloSC, No paid leave. I’m not on tenure track/ have tenure, but I don’t know if I’d have different benefits if I were. I do get to make it asynchronous so that will help a little bit, and it’s an intro class that I’ve gotten to the point of needing to change very little from semester to semester (finally, thank goodness).
I think tenure track profs usually do get leave, I'm sorry you are not getting paid leave. I hate that about our country...all parents should have paid leave. I'm glad the asych will help somewhat. Ha, I know what you mean about not having to change from year to year - my wife just recently got to that point as well Year 3 of being a prof. @loloyoyo26

This baby was 3 years in the making 💕 Took a lot of love and a little bit of science (IVF with ICSI is what finally did the trick). I think I waited a good 8 days after my 2nd transfer before poas and couldn’t believe it when I saw the positive. Immediately woke my husband up to share the news. Some days I still can’t believe it ... I probably won’t fully believe it until baby is safe and healthy in my arms.
Tell us about yourself?
I’m in NY, and so very thankful to be working from home since last March. I’m a Marketing Director for a financial company, and my husband is a Photographer for the local PD. At this point we have known each other for 12 years, and married for 6 of those years. We have 2 rescue pups, one big black lab mix who is my gentle giant and fierce protector. She absolutely loves babies and children. We also have a quirky little pittie / terrier mix who is the sweetest tiny man, but is quite afraid of children 😬 I have no idea why, other than to say that he’s afraid of literally everything, so the fact that he’s afraid of kids is just one thing on a huge laundry list of his fears. Needless to say, this should be an interesting place come August lol Pre-pregnancy and pre-pandemic my hobbies were going to concerts or watching local live music, dinners and drinks with friends, traveling, and probably partaking in more martinis than I should. Of course now my hobbies are peeing every 4 seconds and falling asleep by 9pm most nights 😆 it’s a wild ride.
First appointment? Any symptoms?
I have my 16 week sonogram tomorrow! Very excited to see baby ... 4 weeks between sonos is way too long 😢 I’ve been very lucky - no morning sickness at all. Definitely having food aversions (no chicken 🥴) and major cravings (all the sweets, and pickles and olives!). Also gagging at random smells - like marinara sauce and tacos (my pre-pregnancy favorite food!!).

We’ve been married for 10+ years and when we found out we had been trying for exactly 10 years and one month. So actually, haven’t been trying the last several years and gave up on having biological children. We have two kiddos adopted from foster care who are our first precious babies. But this pregnancy is still long awaited and just as precious. I’m currently a stay at home mom.
Had a pregnancy confirmation and dating ultrasound already, have next appt scheduled soon.
MH and I have 3 other babes. 2 girls and 1 boy. We have 1 dog and 1 cat(Anyone want a new cat?!?!? )
We are currently remodeling our home so we hope to have it at least livable before this babe comes!
I had my first appointment already and got to see the heart beat. I am roughly 9 weeks now. I have been really really sick but it has gotten a little better the last two days.

My husband and I have been married for 10 years, we have a 10 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. Guess we just like the 5 year age gaps 🤪 I am a personal trainer & my husband works in construction.
I personally love it! I love that I got to have 5 years with my oldest & then our son came. She was more independent and able to help when he was born. I also loved that she was headed into Kinder & I got to have one-on-one time with baby.
First time mommy to be here.
EDD is Aug 5, 17 weeks today.
I was two weeks late so took a test and got some strong double lines lol
Very tired (idk where this second trimester energy is but I don't have it lol)
My boyfriend has been amazing and so helpful doing lots of chores around the house for me
Finally meet my OB and I've had a few ultrasounds now, I cry everytime!! Haha my gender ultrasound is 3 weeks away and we are very excited!
Welcome! I believe @pickle-chips is also in academia! My wife is a professor as well. That sounds like a rough semester, you're a tough mama! Do you not get any paid leave? Sorry for the anxiety - a lot of others on here feel the same so feel free to share with us and get some support!
8/30
Hope everyone is doing / feeling well! ❤️
