Re: Low AMH Level

  • @lrynwnab Thank-you, hope the lining check goes well for you.
    @andreamm31 Wishing you the best for Friday!
    @hopefuljj Thank you for the kind words, now the dreaded wait until the beta.
  • Loading the player...
  • @JamieH2000 Thank you! I want to test now :) lol.  I am sure I will end up testing early but following yours and others advice to wait until at least day 7 or 8.  Having a lot of twinges today but assuming that is from the progesterone.
  • @Imajin99 how many days are you past transfer now? I think 7 days is the sweet spot for a clear line of you can hold out that long.

    I like this link describing what is happening each day after transfer and it has helped me hold out. I can’t do a hyperlink on mobile. 🙄

    History and blog link in spoiler
    2016 - dx with super low ovarian reserve; failed cycle with clomid, failed IUI,
    2017 - egg retrieval #1 - 3 eggs, 0 embryos appropriate for transfer; ER #2 2 eggs, 0 embryos on day 3; ER #3 1 egg 0 embryos
    moved to donor egg in summer 2017; 35 eggs retrieved; 19 fertilized; 9 total embryos
    Fresh transfer Dec 2017= BFP!  baby boy born 8/22/18

    May 2019 - surprise natural pregnancy ended in MC
    Nov 2019 FET; MC at 9 weeks
    May 2020 FET; BFN
    July 2020 FET; CP treated with methotrexate
    Oct 2020 BFP!

    Take a look at my blog

  • andreamm31 - I don't have the exact success story you're looking for, but I had a low first beta this time (in the low 30s at 9dp5dt) and things have turned out OK so far. I really think sometimes these frozen embryos take a while to get going.  You know that your embryo is PGS normal and you know it implanted, so that's half the battle.
  • @hopefuljj- thank you dear friend :) hope you are all well and healthy!!

    @lmajin99- ive def been feeling more cramping since transfer! Is your beta next Friday then?

    @andreamm31 - how are you holding up? I realized that my third beta didn’t double during my pregnancy with Elliott but my fourth did. I lost a twin at 7 weeks and I think the off beta was a sign of that. I’m wondering if possibly your embryo split and one is growing now? I feel like that has happened to people with a wonky second or third beta... praying for a strong beta tomorrow!

  • @JamieH2000, yes my beta is bright and early on Nov 20 (Friday). Will yours be on Thursday? I know I should not symptom spot but yeah just feeling super crampy, sore throat in morning - better now, and now my gums hurt.
    @laurad75 I am only 2.5 days post transfer, seriously feels like it has been days even though I have been trying to keep super busy.  Thank you for the link, it is super informative and just nice to know day by day what could be happening.
    @andreamm31 Thinking of you :)
  • @lmajin99 thanks Girlie.  I think waiting till day 7 is a great idea....and what a great link from @laurad75.  That is super helpful to see for me too.
    @c-town18 thanks for sharing your success story.  How are you feeling this far along??
    @JamieH2000. Its really funny you wrote that about the splitting embryo because I kept thinking that was gonna happen to me.   And you know what, I also read a low beta rise story and the woman had an embryo split!!  So its definetly possible! Like maybe the embryo took a day to split so the hcg didn't rise much but once it completes the split and it will catch up!!

    Thanks for all your support ladies.  I feel all your love,  I really do.  I kept myself super busy today so the day would go by fast and my beta is in 13 hours.   Im praying this works and she's just being my stubborn child from embryo stage!

    While my embryo didn't split, this was also a vanishing twin pregnancy where I had the mixed numbers for the my first two betas.  Not sure if that's significant or not, but interesting.

  • @mbradfo2. That is really interesting!  I went back and read your story to my hubby.  Trying to help keep him calm too with stories of this happening.  I just keep thinking how crazy it would be if it was a split embryo.  my husband has visions of me pregnant with twins.  So who knows if that might happen or not!

  • Oh my god guys, Ive been waiting all day!!!  I called at like 130pm and apparently their system went down and they asked me to be patient till around 4pm.  I call at 445pm, I need to wait until the doctor can release it and that won't be till she is done with patients. I finally got the email at 617pm!!!  about 30 minutes prior to that I straight up lost my mind, bawling my eyes out, my husband picked a fight with me, and I just lost it.  This day has been soooooo stressful.

    So my levels went from 123 up to 197.  So 74 increase which is a 60% increase.  Still not quite doubling. But I must just be that case where 15% of woman don't double and have slow rising betas.  Im convinced my embryo split initially and I had the higher start with 92, but the second embryo couldn't hang on so my next beta wasn't quite as high because of the second embryo dropped off.  Thats my thought right now.  My Doc is happy with my rise, but wants to do serial betas next week which I am more than happy to do that.  Today was hard guys.  Ive been so calm this whole process until Wednesday afternoon and since then it has been stress city!  Hopefully next week, my betas take off and I can relax a little.  But I doubt that will happen this whole pregnancy with how its starting out.  Im gonna be anxious every step of the way.
    @jamieh2000 thank you friend.  you are so sweet.  How is your wait going?

  • @c-town18. I think if my betas keep rising appropriately next week, my OB will have me come in some time between 6 and 7 weeks.  She is someone who really likes keeping a close eye on me, so I have no doubt she will get me in for an ultrasound hopefully the week after next.  I am 5 weeks tomorrow.
    @JamieH2000 Yes girl, soooo stressful, trying my best to stay positive.  This was definetly more reassuring.  So beta is next on Monday.  I work tomorrow so at least that will make one day this weekend go by fast and keep me occupied.

  • @andreamm31 Was happy to see the rise in your numbers. Sounds like a super stressful and long day.  Hope you are able to relax a bit now and enjoy the weekend before the next beta. Rooting for you :)
  • @andreamm31
    I know what it's like to be waiting for that call all day!!! I actually got so impatient once when my RE's office didn't call with my results at their regular time in the afternoon that I waited a few hours and then called Quest's provider line and got them to give me the results directly (which I'm not sure they really should have done, but I do technically have a right to my own medical info).

    I think it's positive that it seems like the numbers might be picking up -- Hoping and praying for you!! I hate saying 'you deserve this' but I know you've been through so much and I really am praying that this is your turn!!! Just keep going forward!

    AFM I'm starting to worry that my cycle will get pushed back due to the rise in covid (last march-april all 'elective' procedures were cancelled in our area). My mom thinks it's only going to get worse over the next month or two so I guess we'll see. Partially wishing I hadn't decided to wait now, but that's neither here nor there.

  • @andreamm31 that’s good news for the rise and I’m so hopeful for you that it will continue to move in the right direction. I’m so sorry you had to wait all day. That’s just mean.

    @mbradfo2 I feel like I remember when you called quest and we were all rooting for to do it. Otherwise it was someone else and people do it all the time.

    I agree that covid is going to get worse before it gets better but clinics are much more prepared this time around so don’t get discouraged yet.

  • @mbradfo2 Agree with @laurad75 that clinics are a lot more well prepared at this time.  I spoke to my clinic and they said that last time the Canadian Health Authority allowed them to finish procedures for people that had already started medications but as numbers rise that the protocols they have in place will not delay it this time.
    @JamieH2000 How you holding up?  I cannot believe how long this wait seems like this time around.
  • @mbradfo2- I get it- covid is scary. But I do think fertility clinics will keep going unless things are catastrophic. One unfortunate reality of fertility being a business is that most can’t afford to NOT stay open again...

    @lmajin99- so far so good here with being patient. I’m still debating whether or not to test early. Just so afraid of the negative and the grief that comes after.... any testing for you?

    @laurad75- beta is Thursday. I would def just wait for beta but I have to see my parents and mikes dad the next night and weekend... so knowing earlier may be better... but it’s never a good time to get bad news during the work week...

  • Hi everyone! I've been quietly checking in on you all even though I haven't been writing. Had some struggles this week with the nausea and when it's like that all I can do is just lay down and it sucks to write posts on my phone.

    @JamieH2000 and @Imajin99 Thinking about you two! The TWW is rough, but rooting for you so much and sending you my absolute best <3<3<3

    @andreamm31 You are so in my thoughts this weekend. I hope the time flies for you, or you can binge watch some Netflix and distract yourself. FWIW, I also think that clinics are more prepared this time. Also at least UFC is an independent clinic and not affiliated with a hospital. Therefore they don't have to adhere to what big hospitals or universities are doing. Plus they don't want to lost money either...as much as I want to think they are helpful and altruistic, they gots to make all their own funding so...

    Anyway thinking of you all with all fingers crossed!!!

  • @lucyb1954 Thank you, sorry that the nausea is not getting any better yet, hope you are able to eat a bit and hold down the food for you and the baby.
    @JamieH2000 I was just debating on testing now as it is Diwali (India's festival of lights & New Year) and our families celebrate this occasion and would be great to see a positive result on this auspicious day. However my stronger mind is prevailing and since it has only been 4 full days now (3 pm PST) I will wait....just do not know till when.
  • @JamieH2000
    Good point that we're likely more prepared now and already have lots of precautions in place. I think I'm likely going to worry about everything until we've got some embryos to freeze; I don't have the best history of securing alot of eggs (likely due to AMH) and our fertilization rate is also poor (My RE thinks this is likely due to poor egg quality). Guess I just need to hope for that golden embryo like I got last time! I'm debating whether to test this time or not; I think if I'm fortunate enough to get more than 2 embryos this time, I may test so we don't transfer things that aren't good and waste time.

    @andreamm31
    Been thinking of you a lot this weekend. Hope you're holding up well!!

    @Imajin99
    Yeah, I think 4 days is a little early to start testing and getting a BFN now would probably just make you feel bad or stressed out (even if it's just too early to tell).

    My RE's IVF nurse texted me today and said they're going to be changing up my stim protocol since last time I was on their "mini-stim" protocol (what she said, I didn't know!). My RE tends to be fairly conservative as far as stimming goes since he thinks quality is more important than quantity and too much stimming can hurt egg quality. I was a little surprised that he wanted to do something different -- but he's been doing this for 30+ years so I guess he probably knows what he's talking about!

    2 iui's to start - BFN
    IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5!    2 5AA 1 6BB  PGS results =  all abnormal :(
    IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty.  Nothing made it to day 5
    IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval
    IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
    IVF 5 - Canceled -  looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
    IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS

    Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!!  1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.

    FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol
    Chemical pregnancy
    FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN
    Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2????   Miscarriage at 8 weeks.  viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal :(

    DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos
    1st transfer - chemical pregnancy
    2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!
  • @hopefuljj Thank you so much, was quiet and cozy due to COVID but was very nice.
  • @lmajin99 @JamieH2000 only a few more days until beta! It will be here before you know it.
    @andreamm31 thinking great thoughts for your third beta today!

    afm, I had my lining check this morning and it looked good. what a relief; i had no idea what to expect after taking the lupron depot shots back in july/august. here's hoping that the endo is kept at bay thanks to that treatment.

    the ERA i had in May said I needed two extra shots of progesterone before transfer. So I'm taking shots for 6 nights rather than the usual 4, starting tomorrow night at 10:30 pm. Transfer 11/23 at 10:30 a.m.  we'll transfer one; we have a boy and a girl left so the best of those two, a little exciting in that sense.

    You should do what my husband did with my cheapo HPTs; he hid them so I wouldn't get obsessive over testing XD  And if I wanted to get more, I had to actually bother going to the store and buying them, so I just sat on my couch and played Fallout until my beta XD

    I had a history of wasting TONS of money (relatively speaking) on HPT's -- when I got my first BFP, it was two days before we went on holiday to France for a month...and EVERY MORNING there I would stop at the pharmacy near our little rental and buy HPT's to "check" if I was still pregnant. I got to know the pharmacist pretty well XD Not exactly a high point of my life XD XD My RE did have me link up with a local OB where we were staying so I could get two more beta's run the first week I was there to check for rising. I still remember calling the OB's office there and confusing everyone as to why I needed more blood beta tests run. I eventually had to show the doctor a prescription from my RE and then they did them. 40 bucks for everything, which was surprisingly cheap.

    Well - 40 euros. I don't remember the exchange rate at that time XD

    @andreamm31
    Been thinking and praying for you all day.  FX for good news.

    @andreamm31 Thinking of you Girl!
    @lyrnwnab Still feels so far away................I feel like I am going to lose it but at least I am back to work for the next few days and helps keep my mind off it. Glad the lining check went well and you have a transfer date set.
    @JamieH2000 Yes I am getting super anxious which I do not feel is good, I am going to try to hold off till tomorrow morning but I do think I am going to take my chances later this afternoon as that will be 6dpt, I know it is still early so will keep my hopes lower.  How you holding up? You are 7dpt! only a few more days till the beta.
  • @lmajin99 @JamieH2000 you guys are inspiring me to not test after I have my transfer. I'm usually so bad about testing early at like 5 DPT. Yes, transfer next Monday. I have to give a short presentation that Monday at like 8 am (like a 5 min one) and really want to postpone but also want to get it over with; probably will just do it.

    I asked the RE about shutting down in the event of COVID and she said people in the middle of a cycle would not be shut down. She seemed a little skeptical things would be shut down. Fingers crossed.

    @mbradfo2 I get it! It is so stressful! A holiday in France sounds great ... dang COVID!

    thanks @laurad75

    so hard to concentrate...
  • Thinking about all you ladies in your 2WW!  Hang in there!

    AFM: Well, its not good news.  My HCG went from 197 to 186.  My OB says there is still a chance of it being ectopic and I have that great background noise in my head thinking my fallopian tube is just gonna rupture at any second and Ive had slight cramping on and off on my left side since implantation....once in a blue moon on right, but mostly left.  So now Im thinking any slight twinge is an impending rupture.  its such a mind trip.  But my RE does not think strongly that it is ectopic.  We will get more blood and see Wednesday if they plateau or go down.  She thinks they will go down and I will miscarry.

    We talked for like an hour.  And I was frustrated at times with how data driven she is and study oriented.  She still is questioning using my ERA and we agreed to change my timing of PIO to 132 hours from 144hours, which I think is stupid because she clearly implanted....she just stopped growing , so wouldn't that make us think that timing was right but something else was off?  Ughhh.  So I agree to drop it by 12 hours.

    Then she wants to do an endometrial biopsy to check for endometritis which I guarantee is not the case because I had such a healthy uterus and pregnancy with my last pregnancy that ended because of trisomy 21 and a bad egg.  So I will go through with it and if it is positive, I take 2 weeks of antibiotics concurrently while getting ready for my transfer.  I know @JamieH2000 went through all this.  My last pregnancy, it took 10 weeks for my HCG to come down and I was 10 weeks.  I will be pissed if it takes 5 weeks to go down since Im at 5 weeks.  I know its not science, but it feels like my HCGs take forever to get to zero.

    Im ok, im pissed, and Im sad.  I feel like this is never gonna work and its so hard to ever get excited about anything. I was so calm and peaceful and confident this would work and I would have my baby, but now I lost my best girl embryo, a chance at having our 2 daughters with only 2 girls left and it makes me really sad.  Im having my glass of wine right now and trying to find the hope and ability to quickly grieve and move forward.  I guess with so much loss and disappointment I know I will bounce back quickly because I never truly felt confident since my 2nd HCG, I never let myself get truly excited because there was so much fear.

    But on this same day, my homegirl gets her shot at having her embabie and I couldn't be happier for her @ladyp0tter. Cant wait to hear how it went.

    I appreciate all of you sending me good vibes and thinking of me today, I felt the love.  Im sorry I didn't tag all of you,
    Andrea

  • @andreamm31- I’m so sorry friend. I wish I had better words. I really Hope it’s not ectopic. I feel like those usually Get higher with numbers before declining and rupturing.
    Personally, I think it’s a really good idea to check for endometritis. I had a clear biopsy in March and then a chemical with my end of June transfer. So I feel like it def could have come from bacteria getting in during the whole surgery ordeal. If they want to do a biopsy anyways, can they repeat the ERA to be sure if the timing? Off timing can cause chemicals since it doesn’t implant fully. Again I’m so sorry and I do have lots of hopes you will get your rainbow baby given so many embryos left!! Hang in there. Sending you all my love

  • I hate to add to the bad news tonight....

    I m gave in and tested and it’s totally BFN. I’m 7 days last transfer and I know I would have seen some sort of line of this is viable. I’m gonna try to move my beta up to wed. I’m honestly just so scared my uterus is completely messed up. We know the embryos are pgs normal and the timing is right. So scared the endometritis isnt gone or won’t ever be gone. Honestly can’t imagine going thru months more of biopsies and meds and def another hysterscopy before I would transfer again.
    Somehow I find the Strength to pick up and keep on trying like you strong ladies. But sometimes I wonder how many more years I can go thru this.

    @andreamm31
    =hugs= I'm so devastated for you. Enjoy that wine and forget about how crappy IF is for an evening or two. But as you said, @JamieH2000 went through the same thing -- so there's no reason to lose hope. I felt the same way about treatments/TTC after my first m/c -- like it would never work and the result would just be what had become normal for me -- bad news, bad news, bad news. I was fortunate my clinic and my family were both very supportive because I basically felt like giving up after that. I don't know much about the testing the other girls are suggesting so I won't add to that. Just know I'm thinking of you and send you internet hugs. I have faith that your beautiful baby is on his or her way to you.

    I don't know if you are religious or not -- I'm not terribly religious but I consider myself spiritual and this song helped me sooooo much through the darkest days of IF.

  • @JamieH2000 Thinking of you, hope you can go in for the beta a day earlier to help ease your mind.  It could still be a bit early though so I am going to keep you and your embryos in my thoughts and prayers.
    @andreamm31 I am so sorry :( sending you a hug and we are all here if and when you need us.
  • andreamm31 JamieH2000 - I'm so sorry girls.  You both have had one hell of a year.  This shit just isn't fair, it makes me so mad. I don't have answers but I'm sending you love.
  • Hi friends. I'm so sorry to see the hard news on this board tonight. @JamieH2000 and @andreamm31 I'm sending you both the biggest hugs in the world. @JamieH2000 I'm still holding out some hope for your embryo to snuggle in tight, but I'm sure your heart must be breaking. Know that in my head I am cursing like a sailor at infertility. There's no ***** words sometimes for how heartbreaking and crappy this journey is, and how it just compounds. As @c-town18 says, this shit isn't fair. It doesn't get doled out evenly, some of us get more than our fair share of the shit and it sucks. Both of you have had a tremendously hard year and you've both had waaaay more than your share dumped on your plate. My biggest hugs and heart feels to you both. You're wonderful, strong women and you deserve more than this.

    @andreamm31 I know that Dr. D is so data driven sometimes it can be frustrating. I have had that experience with her as well. However, in a couple of days, when you're feeling stronger, if you feel strongly about your ERA I would suggest talking to her about it again. I'm super stubborn and have done that with her before and had good results. I think you also might think about a repeat ERA to confirm timing. It would suck to have to do it again, yes, but a lot of times when you have a displaced window they will do a second to confirm it. The test for endometritis is probably a good idea, especially after your hemorrhage and D&C this summer...perhaps that process could have introduced some foreign bacteria into your uterus? In any case, more information could be helpful. But definitely take your time and feel like crap and eat some sushi and drink some wine. This sucks. There's no doubt about it. And you don't deserve it.
