Welcome to June 2021 BMB!  If you're new to TB, we're excited to have you! Below you will find information on how the flow of BMBs work, guidelines and helpful links. I've borrowed this from other BMBs.

Some links that you may find helpful:

For the sake of board organization, here are some simple guidelines for posting threads:

DO:
-Introduce yourself in the "Introductions" thread
-Feel free to start one of the weekly posts listed below: if a post is "assigned" but hasn't been started by mid morning, feel free to start it!
-Post your own thread if you have a confirmed loss
-Post a thread that would apply to the entire community and doesn't fall into one of the categories for daily threads listed below (Ex: what to pack in your hospital bag, baby gear, etc)
-Comment, share advice and show support for your fellow bumpies; this is a two-way street, to get support, you must show it as well

DON'T:
-Start a thread asking about symptoms; please post this in the current weekly "symptoms thread"
-Ask the community if you are pregnant, it is against TOU
-Start a thread asking for relationship advice; a professional is better suited for this task
-Post pictures of your pregnancy test, this is also against TOU
-Post a thread that asks a question only applying to yourself unless you suspect you may be going through a MC
-Get bent out of shape if someone calls you out for not following these guidelines; if you expect to be part of a supportive board (which we are), you need to be able to take the time to learn the ins and outs of the board

  • @klj0228 fyi, it still says May BMB at the top

Does anyone care if we do ticker changes or week 1/2/3/4 check ins? I've seen it done either way.

And maybe have 1 questions thread so they can all be in one place? What do others think?

Follow up | 1.16.24 | Green light continues
    TTC put on pause indefinitely
  • I prefer one questions thread!

No preference on ticker changes or week 1/2/3/4 check ins. I’m good with either!

Definitely want to have some kind of healthy habits check in. I know I’m going to need the accountability!

    Me: 32 years old
    DH: 33 years old
    Married in May 16, 2015
TTC #1 (on and off) since September 2015
    DS1 Due 6.7.2021
  • I like the idea of the weekly check-ins. The fact that there would only be 4 threads instead of 7...how do you say..."sparks joy" for me. I also like that you would be in a similar boat as the people in your check-in in terms of symptoms, appointments, proximity to due date, etc. And lastly, because there are only 4 threads, I feel like they would all be pretty robust groups. On my first BMB we ended up combining a couple of the ticker days because we were only 2-3 people and we were kind of lonely, haha.

But, I am happy either way if others prefer ticker changes.
  • I kind of prefer the week 1/2/3/4 check ins over ticker changes too, but am open to daily ticker changes too. I just think it’s nice to check in with others due the same week.

I like the healthy habits check in. In my last board that was a weekly check-in but on the May 21 board it is ongoing pinned to the top.

  • @inthewoods23 thanks for pointing out the May at the beginning!
  • @pickle-chips I have to say I feel your 4 posts over 7. My last BMB was N14, and we had ticket change groups, but there were no where near as many different daily threads. When I was lurking on May 2021, I was overwhelmed when I saw how many different threads are listed for each day!

@DoubleUp8 I am overwhelmed with all the daily threads too! Below are the threads I like. I think some could be weekly and some could even be just monthly maybe.

    Healthy habits
    Weekly Randoms
    Weekly symptoms
Weekly check ins for due date weeks
    Weekly Questions
Hump Day Bump day - maybe around start for second trimester
FFFC - Flame free Friday confessions
why my pregnant self is crying - this could even be a monthly board
FTM check in - I think this and the next could be monthly
    STM+ check in
what my pregnant self is eating/craving

ETA: I am happy to edit the original post if we want to get rid of some of the daily things.
  • @BumpAdmin or @rosesareblue242 can you please pin this thread?

  • @klj0228 that list of threads would be my dream board!

I’m going to throw a vote out there for weekly healthy habits instead of just one thread!

@klj0228 I think there are a few that are good for specific groups. Maybe make the below and the FTM and STM like Tuesday or Thursday posts so Monday isn't the day for all posts:
    - Pregnancy after loss - PGAL Check-In
    - Moms of Multiples Check-I
    - High Risk Pregnancy Check-In
    - Pregnant after IF

Also some are good if someone has a good story:
    - Monday bitchfest
    - WTF Wednesday

A few I saw in other boards that are more a monthly or general
    - Healthy Habits Check-In
    - ultrasound thread

How do others feel about trimming the number of threads?

ETA: I think we should try to decide today so @klj0228 can edit the post before her 24 hours are up and the board states to get busy.

  • @DoubleUp8 yes, I am sorry I missed those other group posts. Agree, they are important too. I like the Monday bitchfest and WTF Wednesday, but prefer one or the other. In my last group it seemed people just started posting on one after time went by. Good call on ultrasound board. I would like to see it just be a pinned board that sticks around for the duration.
  • @klj0228 sounds good. What about someone like this? What do other people think?

  • I have updated the original post with the suggestions. Please let me know if I missed anything...I’ve got 12 hours left to edit it.
  • @klj0228 it looks good to me, but someone else should check it too. It's a little after 9:00 my time, which means that I am absolutely exhausted and going to bed. So excited for June 2021 BMB to get started!

  • @klj0228 I think it looks good! I did notice that the "I want a ticker on my signature" link is broken. It sends you to a 403 Forbidden page. Definitely a Bump thing. Maybe we could link to this more general "I want to edit my signature" post, which also describes how to add a ticker? The post at least explains the process and people can go to any website that generates a ticker.
  • *lurking*

Just popping in because I know your time is running out to edit but some other BMBs have the following and not sure if y’all wanted to add them. Props to your organization! 🙌🏻

    June 2020 Spreadsheet
    Sex Reveal/Announcement thread
    Product Spotlight
    Me: 29 | DH: 28
    Due: 6 Nov 2021
    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
    PitaPata Dog tickers

  • @jackie_dunny thanks for chiming in. I think if we miss the edit deadline to add anything else, we have this sentence that buys us so leeway "Once we all get farther along, we will also have pinned threads for things like ultrasounds, sex announcements and birth announcements."

Also, I was a lurker on May 21 while waiting for June 2021 to open and I am so sorry for your loss.

  • A question about the weekly check-in threads: it makes the most sense that a person from each of those week groups would post their weekly discussion, right? Not that one person posts all 4 discussions.
  • @pickle-chips I am okay with doing it that way. This week we shouldn’t need week 4 and possibly even week 3 check-in since those ladies likely don’t know they are pregnant yet.
  • @pickle-chips I think that's fine. I don't know that it matters too much. I'm guessing people will lurk in different weeks from time to time to read updates.

On the Trying to Get Pregnant board, the same person often posted the Waiting to Ovulate and the Two Week Wait threads even though you are one or the other. I posted both FTM and STM+ yesterday because I was on early and wanted to be sure both were posted for the group.

  • I’m all in for whoever thinks about or is on in the morning posting the boards for the day. The May group assigned people to start boards each day, but I think that can be a lot of pressure if you don’t do it first thing or someone else has something they really want to say but are waiting for your to start it.
  • Cool cool cool. Definitely just overthinking things early the morning. I agree with you both.
  • Is it ok if we add "GTKY Mondays" with a different fun topic each week?? we did this in one of my old BMB's and it was fun.

  • Question.. who makes these threads on certain days of the week? Can anybody just create them on a thurs or Friday etc etc if they arnt already up? or do they come from someone else or admin or?
  • @mindyb2019 anyone can make them! We haven't assigned any (so far?) but feel free to call dibs on any or get them going if they haven't been started. I've been making a few because I am usually up early PLUS I am in Atlantic Canada, so one of the earliest time zones (other than our Kiwi friends, of course!).
  • Are group MODs still a thing? Or am I showing my Bump age?

  • @jaztastic I think usually later down the road or when/if we switch over to FB? I can't remember if we had true MODs while still on the Bump when I was on here 3 years ago...
  • Hi! Late joiner --- how do people feel about a monthly appointments thread? I liked knowing what was happening with people not in my "bump week" and supporting them with upcoming appts.
  • @mc0303 I thought about making one of these too. I think its a great idea and im all for it 👍
