The Great Question Thread

Re: The Great Question Thread

  • @wychets it is good to hear I am not the only one!!! I remembered it later with DD too. I have had extra pressure already and she feels super heavy low too. No real tips here though.... I try to relax to see if that helps but yeah you know how hard that is
  • Loading the player...
  • @mtengl @wychets no tips but same. I am due 11/1 and my ob said it's normal for this gestational age. Plus second babies get the benefit of everything already being stretched out 🙄
  • @wychets yep there have been a few times it felt like baby was about to fall out of my vagina! It's such an unpleasant feeling lol
  • @wychets No advice here either, just commiseration! I tried to run after DS2 the other day and literally I thought everything was going to fall out! 😳
  • @wychets oh yes. I asked my OB about feeling so sore and she just said it was at least in part due to those weaker pelvic floor muscles thanks to baby #1. I feel like I’m groaning and waddling a lot earlier than with DD1!
  • Yes @wychets and it’s the worst when getting out of bed.

@potofgolden I love that idea. My mom likes to say things like “our daughter had her baby”...she’ll say but I didn’t say which daughter...um we have how many in common friends?????? It’s not hard to figure it out which daughter lives in our state or who is expecting.  We try to share virtually nothing until we’re ready for this reason.
  • @potofgolden that is cute.

i feel like this baby has so much more room compared to DD so I guess that is a bonus for being stretched out already

@potofgolden I love that idea! Like you said, it’s sad you needed to have that message out there but it’s so necessary in some cases!
ETA I may make one just to send along with text announcements to certain family members (coughSIL) when baby is here.
  • @potofgolden Those are really neat and definitely a good idea for those who have concerns in that area.

Maybe I'm just not very sentimental or super lazy...but I'm pretty sure I didn't get around to announcing DS's birth until 2 weeks later and only because my work prompted me saying they wanted a baby picture for our very small, in-office newsletter and I was like, oh shoot, should probably generally announce this! Haven't been much better this time around either really. Just last week we discovered that a fairly close friend didn't even know I was pregnant! I can largely blame Covid for preventing us from meeting up with people like normal where this information would typically have been shared...but I also haven't announced the pregnancy on Facebook at all. Again, lazy mostly! I honestly was perfectly fine with my mom telling pretty much everyone to save me the steps of having to call family members and make small talk about it! ;)
  • @csardaszz Haha I love that! I kind of have a similar plan for church. Just show up with an extra baby in tow. The way things worked out, we stopped going before I was showing, and, at this rate, won't be back until the baby is a few months old. Like you said, much more interesting conversations than the typical, small-talky ones!
  • @doublestroller DH went freaking nuts and announced it wya to earlier and since then we haven’t posted anything...
  • +1 for not announcing on FB yet. I think most family and close friends know but not sure. We talked about doing an announcement and I was like yeah I need to get the kids dressed and do something. DH suggested we get a picture of me as well and I'm like when am I going to do hair and makeup 🤷🏼‍♀️. Maybe in the next couple of weeks we'll do one with the kids but at this point I'm okay just posting to FB after baby arrives.

  • I didn't announce on social media (nor did I with #1). I planned on showing back up to work in August (educator) and say surprise, but I am all online. My work friends know, but I guess others will find out when I am on leave? But people I am not working with directly I guess will just find out when my department head sends out the welcome baby to our family email 😂
  • We haven’t announced on Facebook either.  Our close friends and family know. 🤷‍♀️

@dumbledoredies lmao nah, not the only one. I announced a while ago ;)

When we got the NIPT sex results MH did a FB live video so we could include friends/family

  • Is anyone else dying of heat. This is my third and I don't remember it being this bad. We have a swamp cooler and the air conditioner is cranked and I'm wearing as little as possible  but I'm still dying of heat. I can't do anything without dripping sweat. Ugh, so stinkin ridiculous. I can't wait for fall.
  • @milkylee Same! It's been pretty hot here and we don't have AC and I am DYING. Usually I'm the one in the family who handles heat well, but not while pregnant! There have been some days when I go for a short walk and have to come home and lay on the bed under the ceiling fan for 20 minutes to recover. It's way hard.

  • @mikylee YES. #3 here too. Maybe TMI, but I legit feel like I need to change my underwear multiple times a day.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @hedgepig I cannot fathom how you're surviving without any air conditioner, here it's still high 90s low 100s everyday.
@crizz13 same here 🤦🏻‍♀️. Again I don't remember my pelvic area sweating so much but it's definitely sweating there more than everywhere else.
  • @crizz13 @mikylee YES I went for a walk with my dogs today, died of heat. Sat down when I get home to drink some water and catch my breath, there was a literal sweat spot when I stood up🙃🙃
  • @crizz13  totally not TMI. Yeah I changed my underwear like three times yesterday...
  • @mikylee I’ve been a puddle of sweat for months now. It’s super gross and I’m over it but I live in Florida so this will likely be my situation until baby is born. 😭
  • @mikylee and others - in my case, it’s nice to finally be able to blame something for always being hot! 🤣 I’m such a hot blooded human that all the sweating is not much different than my usual! Poor hubby is in a sweatshirt most nights though.

  • @lovelee3 I'm usually the freezing one, except when I'm pregnant. I'm known for wearing jackets and cardigans well into the summer usually.
  • @potofgolden a DAILY fear of mine especially with work. Some of these kids really make me sweat and I get nervous that I just didn’t notice. 🤣
