@bluetickgal@kiki047 It is nice to possibly have a "reason" (even better that it seems manageable, just need to take some aspirin or blood thinner), and makes me more hopeful that (should it happen) the next pregnancy could make it. Making me sad, though, trying to push off the idea that things were fine last time, it's my body that betrayed him...and therefore my fault. I know this is the wrong way to think, but hard to avoid.
@kpearse99 I'm sorry you're having a rough time, hang in there.
@acleverusername yay for feeling lucky! FX that you are right! I'm glad you are feeling good about moving forward with the next phase of your treatment plan. I think IUI will be next for us after 3 clomid cycles. I'm in the "drink til its pink" side too, but I think you ultimately have to do whatever you are most comfortable with.
@akoros I'm glad you got an answer and that it seems like a manageable thing. I'm hoping so hard for you that this will make the difference!
@shoogapoff that is the best news! I'm so glad you get to go ahead with the transfer. I have everything crossed for you that this is the stickiest baby!
@kpearse99 I'm so sorry you're in a funk. Just be kind to yourself; its so hard to go through this month after month, let alone with added outside pressures. Sending you so much
@bbrahmbhatt hahaha that GIF almost made me fall out of my chair. So good.
Just talked to my RE, he is for sure my knight in shining armour. I have to go in for a beta tomorrow morning just to make sure the negative FRERs weren't lying, then I start BCP for as long as I need to for him to squeeze me in somehow. His exact words were "don't underestimate me, my dear, I hold THE POWER." I said "well in that case, can you please use your power to make this one stick?" He later admitted he has no power but he'll make it happen, and I believe him so we're going with that. Now for the BCP to work its magic (moreso than the damn provera)!!

@ramzlau Yay for the good numbers at
your CD3 appt! FX that Clomid does the trick this cycle!
@emeraldduchess Yay for glad the insurance company did the
right thing. I have no idea what that code means, but insurance lingo is always
gibberish to me. Come ON AF.
@kiki047 So glad your RE is going to make it work! Your AF
and Emerald’s need to get their asses back from whatever vacay they are on and
do their damn jobs!
@misshelen86 So sorry about the Beta. Big hugs. I will
keep everything crossed for you moving into IVF.
@acleverusername I don’t think a glass of wine would have
any effect other than potentially relaxing you for implantation! I’ve been
having alcohol on occasion during this off cycle, I just chose to abstain
during stims and will again when I start my transfer protocol (although I don’t
even know if that’s totally necessary).
@akoros That’s great that you may have gotten an answer and
that it is something you can work with!
@shoogapoff So so glad to hear you will be able to
transfer, looks like we will hopefully be FET buddies! Sending you all the
sticky embryo vibes!
@kpearse99 So sorry you are still struggling, friend. It’s
all a lot to process, so I hope you are being kind to yourself and letting
yourself feel all the feels

TTC #1 October 2017: BFP on 12/1/2017, DD born 7/24/2018 @ 37+1 after induction due to preeclampsia
TTC #2 January 2020: AMA, dx with DOR in May 2020
IVF July 2020: 16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 12 fertilized, 3 blasts, 2 PGT-A normal
FET 10/7/20: BFP on 10/12/20!!! (EDD 6/25/21); First beta 10/16/20 (9dpt): 148; Second beta 10/19/20 (12dpt): 621; Third beta 10/26/20 (19dpt): 4732; Fourth (and final!) beta 11/2/20 (26 dpt): 22,000+
Guess who FINALLY showed up today? It's about bloody time! (See what I did there?) I called the RE's office and my favorite nurse said I made her day by telling her I finally had a steady flow. So I have a 7:30 date with the ultrasound want tomorrow! Crossing everything that we get the all clear to start injections!
@legallykate I think that code is what is standing in for "Damn you, COVID!". I doubt there's an actual insurance code for cancellation due to a global pandemic. I bet there will be now, though!
@kpearse99 all the hugs, my friend. I'm so sorry you're struggling. Feel free to PM me anytime.
@shoogapoff yay!!! I am so happy you are going to be able to transfer your embryo!!
@akoros I am sure those test results are a lot to process, but you must feel some relief that you might have an answer and it's treatable. I know what you mean by feeling like your body messed everything up. I *may* have an issue with progesterone and it definitely makes me wonder if that's why I had 2 CPs.
@acleverusername thank you for your kindness and your wish! I'm getting more and more anxious about the job situation, but I need to believe that something is going to come up. My ovaries like to go rogue too, so I get your frustration!
@kiki047 OMG I love your RE! So glad he's fighting for you! I will send the period fairy your way. AF is ridiculous. It ruins things by showing up and by NOT showing up.
@misshelen86 I am so sorry your IUI was unsuccessful. I remember what a let-down it was after mine. Sending hugs! It's definitely an emotional decision to move on to IVF. You will know when you're ready.
@legallykate@acleverusername I went back in the portal... And idk why I thought there were videos lol. I'm pretty sure it's just some new patient paperwork we gotta do. I have to get DH to sign his name on some form for the medical release form so that my current clinic can send all my records to the new clinic. I feel better now that I've remembered to call and ask to have my records forwarded!
@misshelen86 so sorry the IUI wasn't successful 😢 DH had similar feelings with moving to IVF. The process seems so terrifying. I hope you can find peace in moving forward.
So happy for all the good news happening lately! DH and I are thankfully on super awesome terms lately (a far cry from my feelings last Friday!) and pretty sure today is O day so our timing has been *chef's kiss*. DH even agreed to some more fun tomorrow 😉 you know, I thought I'd hate "wasting" the summer away but it's been a lovely time.

Looks like it's Wonderful Wednesday over here with all of the great news!!!
Yay @emeraldduchess for AF. Will be anxiously waiting your update tomorrow AM!
Woohoo @shoogapoff! I'm so excited that you'll be able to proceed with the transfer. Will hope and pray for a sticky / healthy baby!
@legallykate hooray for ✅HSG and a clear path forward. Gee... I really hope that the Grad thread(s) start hoping soon!!!
@kiki047 What a great RE you have! You're in good hands, and you'll get to hold a baby in your hands oh-so-soon; I just know it.
@bbrahmbhatt Hooray for OK progesterone! Did you have issues with it pre-Clomid?
@akoros I'm a really happy that you go _some_ answers and that there's a way to manage against this in the future. Of course I can't speak to experience, but knowing myself, having a root cause and a plan to eliminate it would be so much better than "it was the (bad) luck of the draw".
@akoros I totally understand the sadness, but it is definitely not your fault! *TW - loss is hard no matter the reason...but you have done everything you can, you had no way of knowing about the Factor V issue before! I’ve tried to figure out if there was some reason for my losses, something I did wrong because all of our tests came back normal...and I still feel like it was my fault for some reason at times, but I know deep down that sometimes bad things just happen. It sucks so badly though, because it is plays with our emotions in the worst way possible! - End TW* I hope you can hold on to the comfort that hopefully meds will help when you get KU again and things will turn out so much better!
@bbrahmbhatt your gif to @kiki047 was perfect! 😂 Yay for your day 21 BW showing you O’d! That is awesome! Fingers crossed so hard for you!! So sorry you have been dealing with the Clomid crazies though (saw you post about that in another thread)...that is one thing I was thankful to avoid when I was on it. I hope things level out soon for you!
@kiki047 your RE rocks...whether he has true powers or not! Haha. So glad he is going to make sure you get worked in to the schedule somehow! Fingers crossed the BC does its job and you can start your FET cycle very soon!
@legallykate yay for the HSG being clear and getting the green light! You are so close now!
@emeraldduchess woohoo...so happy for you!! Thinking about you this morning...hope all went well with the US and you’ll be starting stims so soon! Eek...it’s happening!! @inthewoods23 yay for good feelings lining up perfectly with FW! So glad you are in a better place now! ☺️
@acleverusername not that I know of; I had it checked once pre-clomid and it was within the normal range, but according to my google stalking, with Clomid cycles it is supposed to be even higher, above 15 to indicate "good ovulation" whatever that means.
I'm waiting to hear back from the RE about my ultrasound and whether or not I can start injections tonight. My head is spinning. It says 300 u of Gonal F and 4 vials of Menopur. Does that seem really high to anyone else?? I will double check when the nurse calls but holy cow, that seems like a LOT for one dose of each. Maybe my geriatric ovaries need the extra punch?
@bluetickgal cue being super extra hopeful this cycle works! I kind of hate feeling super excited about it because I know I will crash from the disappointment. I have plenty of TWW time to be more chill.
@emeraldduchess FX so hard you can start injections!!!! I responded well (almost too well actually) to the injections. They had me start with 1 vial of menopur and 150 of gonal-f. My first check up after starting the injections they dropped my gonal-f down to 75 to slow their growth down. Knowing your ovaries, yes, they need the extra kick in the butt.

@emeraldduchess I did 300 of Gonal and 2 vials of Menopur for my geriatric ovaries, I have seen others do up to 3 vials of Menopur but not sure I have seen 4 so I would check that but it doesn't sound totally insane. I think if you do more than 2 vials you have to split it into 2 shots though so then you'd be doing 3 shots (1 Gonal and 2 Menopur). I did my Menopur in the morning and Gonal at night which I actually preferred versus doing them at the same time.

@bbrahmbhatt@legallykate@inthewoods23@acleverusername@bluetickgal Thanks, all! You're right, no matter what the cause (and even if I didn't have a "reason") it's never easy and I'd still find some way to blame myself. I've actually been surprised at how *other* people seem to want to take blame (I get me and my husband, but my mom's been wondering if it's her fault because I was born premature and my boss was worried it was his fault because of stress), so it's just natural. That said, it is somewhat comforting to have a "cause" (and a manageable one) so that if there's a next time it'll help with the anxiety. Perpetual "bad luck" is kind of a mindf***, there's no way I'd be able to keep calm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.
@emeraldduchess So glad it finally showed up (and love the pun)!
@bbrahmbhatt Agreed, lots of good news all around (including yours)! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you
Okay, I probably missed people, but I really wanted to participate this week! Thank you so much for all of your kind responses to my embryo news.
@emeraldduchess Yay for starting injections! To echo what others have said, I started with 75 Gonal-F and 3 vials of Menopur. Everyone's protocol is so different!
@bbrahmbhatt Yay for Clomid doing its job! I'm sure that's a big relief.
@inthewoods23 Yay for awesome timing on your fun sexy times! I'm glad you're enjoying things.
@kiki047 I LOVE an RE who is invested in his patients! To answer your question about the PGT results: It seems like they just didn't get a good sample to send off. In my obsessive googling, I got conflicting information about whether it's just something that happens or if it means the embryo isn't high quality. I'm choosing to believe it was a fluke.
@legallykate Yay for FET buddies! I'm so glad your HSG was normal and went well!
@acleverusername I agree with others about drink til it's pink. If I had stopped drinking when we started trying, It would be YEARS before I had wine again. And I love my wine! I always make sure to get something I really enjoy as my "possible last drink" each cycle.
@misshelen86 I feel ya, girl. This all sucks so much. FX that IVF is exactly what you need to get your THB.
@kpearse99 I know this is a late response, but I'm so sorry you had such a rough weekend. If you need to PM about it, I don't mind discussions of your DS etc at all.
@bluetickgal To answer your question about bloating: YES! Girl, I thought my IUI bloat was so bad that there was no way I could do IVF. But the bloat with IVF was not that much worse (at least pre-egg-retrieval). It's a real thing!
@legallykate right?? how come AF gets to go on some kind of extended vacay and I'm stuck here waiting for her to get back. whatta beyotch. But YAY for the all-clear for your FET! Hey, maybe we'll end up being almost cycle-buddies!! @emeraldduchess oh thank god, finally! let's get this show on the road sister!! Yes those doses seem high to me too, I was also on one vial of menopur and 150 gonal-f, which dropped to 75 eventually. But they can always adjust if you end up responding really well! The best advice I got for the menopur is to mix it ahead of time, like 30 mins if you can, and let it sit so it's fully dissolved because it burns like a mofo. Gonal-F was a piece of cake, tiny needle and the pen is so easy to use.
@bbrahmbhatt woo woo!! Thank you Clomid!! @inthewoods23 yay for great timing!! And for YH not fighting you on it. I always have to be the one to initiate too and although MH doesn't actually fight me on it, his engines take a little longer to warm up lol. @bluetickgal thank you friend!! You always know just what to say
AFM, BFN confirmed by beta (the tech seemed super uncomfortable when I cheered on the phone, lol, bet he's not used to that reaction) so waiting for the call from my RE now.
TTC History:
Me: 36 MH: 39, TTC since Dec 2017

I start with 300 Gonal F tonight and 4 of menopur tomorrow morning. I think since I tend to O late in my cycle and because I am AMA they are starting me off with a very high dose. My first cycle on letrozole it took a while to work, too. Of course, then by cycle 4 I was triggering on CD9, so who knows what my ovaries will do? I go in for monitoring on the 18th. Now let's just hope the side effects aren't bad. Don't want to be a hormonal basketcase if I get called for interviews!
@inthewoods23 yes...the super hopeful thing needs to pay off for us!! Haha. My hopefulness has faded a bit, but I’ll still be pretty devastated if this cycle didn’t work! I’m jumping on the hopeful train for you though, fingers crossed this is your cycle!!
@shoogapoff I feel much better knowing other people have experienced the bloat too! Today is the first day I’ve felt pretty normal, it’s quite nice! Haha. That’s crazy it wasn’t much worse for IVF than it was for your IUI’s!
@kiki047 haha...I’d say they aren’t used to that reaction! But now you can move forward, so that is wonderful!
@emeraldduchess yay, you’ve got this friend!! So excited the ball is officially rolling!
I just spent at least an hour on that damn intake form and oh. my. god. is how I feel about it. I had to go find all my damn test results like my AMH, FSH, etc. and also provide details on all the treatments we've done. Wtf is the point of me sending my medical records??
It's been a little shaky with what's needed with forms so that the new clinic can get the records from my first clinic, but I think it's under control now 😵 haha

Thanks, ladies for letting me know how much protocol can differ from person to person! I watched a few videos on IVF meds and I feel a lot less overwhelmed. DH is really excited, too.
@inthewoods23 yikes, I would be overwhelmed with all those forms, too! That's interesting that you have to provide past test results on your own.
@bluetickgal we will all hop on the hope train for you!
And LOL at your Joey gif! I have a feeling this is going to be me all hormone-d up:
Whew, this was like a telenovela this week! All the ups and downs of IF.....You ladies are WARRIORS! AFM, I've been lurking all week but never had enough time to jump in here, so gonna do my best to catch up before the entire week gets away from me. Have plenty of my own drama to add to our weekly soap opera that is this IF thread lately...
Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, AMA, Blood-clotting disorders, Elevated NK cells & activity (mostly resolved), DOR is back on this list
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW, I think
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Welp, my last update last week was that our egg retrieval was postponed again because the 2 surprise cysts had grown even while on BCP. I left the RE's clinic with instructions to wait for AF in the next few days, which would likely clear the cysts, and then begin the meds for ER. After one week of waiting I called them to say no AF in sight, could I take something to kickstart it? Nurse said "No, your body clearly doesn't like to be messed with, let's let things run their course". After that I started taking OPKs to see WTH was going on. Lo and behold, the next night I had a positive OPK! So we got in a session, and the next morning I had a blazing Peak OPK. I called the clinic to ask what happens now. The nurse was shocked and said she'd need to consult with the doctor. I asked if I could do bloodwork to see what my hormones were doing and make sure that the OPKs weren't some fluke. BW wasn't back by that night so we had another BD sesh. The next morning I got the call that I was indeed ovulating, so my RE was right all along! They were "2 runaway follies" and not cysts! So, the nurse relayed that the Dr said it's my choice what to do next. ?? I said, "Well, I figured we'd have to wait 2 weeks for AF anyway before starting the meds, so we squeezed in a natural cycle in the meantime." She said, "OK, call us in 2 weeks either way! Good luck!" Once I hung up I wondered if maybe we could've started the meds once my estradiol had dropped after ovulation? Not sure how long that might've taken.... Did I just extend our waiting time to start meds for ER? IDK, this entire thing has been such a fiasco since March, what's two more weeks?!?! Also, I've been having what feels like strong ovulation pain for a full 3 days on my left side, so really not sure what's going on. Maybe I ovulated and I have cycsts? Geez, this life...
How are things going?: Things have been good. I've been feeling very positive about everything overall. Yet, there are some doubts in the back of my mind about a couple of things pregnancy-related, but I will deal with those when that time comes. I think I need to get back involved in the TTCAL thread to acknowledge some of the subconscious worries that've been creeping up lately. *TW: PG mentioned*
Things like, I saw a lady on the beach today taking her beach walk, very PG, with a beautiful big belly in her little bikini, looking very strong. But in the back of my mind I was like, "Ugh, I don't want to deal with that for all those months, worrying the whole time if everything is ok." I've had some terrible PG experiences with terrible outcomes, so part of me subconsciously worries whether it's ok for my body to go through it again. And then I wonder if these deep-seated fears are contributing to my challenges staying PG. It's a vicious cycle.
Any questions?: How long does it take you to post in these threads? I always wonder if it's just me that takes at least an hour to read & respond... That's why I have to save this thread for when I have a serious chunk of time to commit. Otherwise, I just dabble here and there in the lighter threads when I have a few spare minutes...
GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1. To have multiple children of my own without ever having to go through pregnancy 2. For all the pain & suffering of the world to just disappear 3. Unlimited future wishes, definitely involving world peace, unlimited travel, and unlimited funds (Yes, I felt like I was 11 years old coming up with this unlimited wishes idea earlier in the week. Then I saw that @acleverusername had similar thoughts hahaha.)
@emeraldduchess YES for finally moving forward to injections! You can do it! FX that your side effects are minimal. FWIW, I read up on your patch protocol, and it seems like it's a really good one with great results. I saw Dr. Sher post about it: he's a renowned expert in hard-to-treat cases of IF. Also, I'm going to be doing large doses like you once we start our injections. I think it's 150 of Gonal-f twice a day, and 150 of Menopur twice a day. (Would have to check my paperwork to confirm.) My RE said it's high, but not too high-- just the right amount to get a good result with AMA or expected poor responders.
@inthewoods23 Yippee for feeling warm & fuzzy toward YH again, and right in time! Sorry that intake form took so long. I hear you on the paperwork: When we had to get that together for the RI, we ended up faxing 73 pages over! If I had to do it again right now, after all the tests and everything we've done in the last 10 months, I can't even imagine how long that would take.
@kiki047 Yay for that confirmed negative beta, hahaha! And YES to your doctor bringing all the positivity that he will make this happen for you guys! We all need someone in our corner like that.
@shoogapoff HOORAY that you get to transfer your precious little embaby! I'm praying right along with you that it was a fluke, and that this little one sticks!
@misshelen86 I am so sorry about the bfn with the IUI. That is so disappointing. I am so glad for you that you do have IVF lined up so quickly after this, though. It's always a good feeling to have a plan i@misshelen86
@bbrahmbhatt Congrats on the Clomid working and the good progesterone levels! All of this good news here mid-week really makes up for how the first part of the week started out!
@legallykate Congrats on the all-clear HSG! Things are moving right along. Do you know an estimated date for FET?
@kpearse99 I'm sorry you're down in the doldrums this week. It's bound to happen sometimes, especially with what's been going on lately. Sending you a big tight hug, friend! Feel free to PM me anytime as well. (I haven't checked my inbox in awhile because I have to do it from computer, so I will do that later today & send you some PM.)
@akoros I am sorry about the Factor V Leiden diagnosis, but so glad you have some sort of answer. It is quite common; as you know, you will likely need to be on Lovenox or Heparin for any future PGs, along with baby aspiring and/or fish oil. I'm on it for 3 blood-clotting issues (discovered after the fact). You have a great attitude about it: at least it is something fairly easy and short term that you can do for a greater likelihood of success! You can check out the Lovenox Ladies group on FB to learn more about the process/have a support group, etc.
@acleverusername FX that your feeling lucky vibe is correct! I want some of that too! Love your employees/management impasse analogy. You all are killing it with the gifs and clever words lately! As for your question, I used to be staunchly in the "drink till it's pink" club. Until I learned all about inflammation and how even a little alcohol can trigger it. So now I might have one glass or less of wine on the first day of AF and that's it, if even that. I recently read that IVF cycles were less likely to be successful if the male or female drank in the month before treatment. So now I'm in the "don't drink unless it's absolutely vital to your mental health or emotional well-being" club. Whomp whomp, no fun here. But if you're not prone to inflammation then ignore my opinion. ;-)
@bluetickgal FX that this IUI is successful! and Yes to the bloating after IUI question, even though I didn't do injectables. How is it today?
@ramzlau Those latest numbers sound great! FX for a successful IUI this cycle!
@gingermama29 Woohoo for being OFF THE BENCH!! That was a long stretch, you handled it really well! I'm sorry things have been so challenging mentally. I am also in education and have many friends who are feeling the same as you. People are leaving meetings in tears, considering taking a leave of absence, etc. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself, my friend.
@keikilove sounds like your ovaries are pulling some shenanigans! I'm glad you listened to your body and checked with an OPK. Way to go with HIO. It takes me a long time to do tags in these threads, too. I usually have to write down my responses before I will type them in here. I'm always afraid I will forget someone! I read up on the patch protocol too and I feel better knowing that it has a pretty good success rate. My AMH has been all over the place (0.97, 1.43, 0.64), so I think my RE is pulling out all the stops. I'm sorry all those feels are coming up about being PG. Lots of hugs to you, friend.
I did my first dose of Gonal F and it was easy. Let's hope the Menopur goes as smoothly. After I did the injection, I looked at DH and we had a "ok, this is happening, no turning back" moment. It's like they lowered the safety bar on the rollercoaster and we're off!
@kiki047 I am a strong introvert, so I love not having to go into the office with people and getting lots of quality time at home! But yes I miss travel so much! And omg "I hold the power", pass some this way please? haha I am glad he is making it happen for you!
@keikilove So by runaway follies that were masking as cysts, are they saying they were just huge follies? Usually cysts are larger right? That would explain the ovulation pain if you had two huge follies, right? Way to go getting a natural cycle in! It takes me an hour at least too, I usually work on responses here or there and type it into a notepad so it doesn't get lost and then copy and paste over. Its a lot and why I only contribute to this thread instead of in addition to the dailies.
AFM: SA results came back, morph is still lower than ideal at 9% (goal is 14%, but IVF required line is 5%) and she mentioned something called agglutination? Anybody had experience with that? Recommendations? The RE mentioned that they add something to the wash during an IUI to help with that anyways, but it could be a hindering factor.
@keikilove it kind of feels like we went from Space Mountain (totally in the dark) to Expedition Everest (more intense but at least we can see where we're going)!
@emeraldduchess the menopur has the same sized needle so it should be just as easy! Just burns a little under the skin.
@ramzlau I know agglutination is when the sperm stick together so they can't move properly. I actually don't even know if our SA looked at that. It wasn't noted so I guess that wasn't an issue for us. I'd be curious to know if there is something that can help prevent that!

@keikilove glad you were able to get in on the telenovela action this week! And holy cow your own drama was a page turner, but so happy you "made good use" of your runaway follies. Who knows, right?!
It absolutely takes me forever to properly read / comment on this thread; I usually have 2 tabs going... one to scroll in, and the other one to type in. Sometimes I even seat in the office, where I have dual monitor setup. 😆
Thanks for your take on the alcohol. I've had RE/IF nurses tell me "it's perfectly fine to drink in moderation" but I personally don't feel comfortable with it. Plus, there definitely _is_ research supporting no alcohol during IF is best. It's interesting that you mention inflammation though... I just finished my Whole30 challenge and I can definitely say that inflammation in my body has gone significantly down! (This is TMI but... I no longer need to pee in the middle of the night... how is that even possible?! I've been a night-time pee-er for as long as I can remember). Anyway, last night I "celebrated" completing the Whole30 with 2 glasses of wine and I regretted my life this morning. I had a killer headache on top of very poor sleep. So, I think henceforth, I'll also be in the "only if mental health seriously demands a drink" camp.
@emeraldduchess that does sound like a pretty aggressive protocol, but – and I might be talking out of my ass – but maybe it's easier to pull back after your first check-in rather than to add on? I remember when I did ER for freezing I had a very light protocol (75 Menopur; 150 gonal-f) for the first 5 days, and then they doubled my Menopur dose to 150 mid-way through. I ended up with only 11 eggs, and my AMH was "normal" for my age. (Though I'm not a very good example since there were a few things "wrong" with how that clinic went about my protocol/procedure.)
@acleverusernameI think my RE wants to go with an aggressive protocol because I am AMA and *TW* I have had 2 losses, both very early. End *TW* My u/s on August 3 said more than 10 antral follicles on each side, which is a good number to start with. My RE has said from the beginning that my AMH levels don't match what she sees in my scans.
Ladies, I totally freaked out with the menopur this morning. I went through an extra vial because I had issues with the syringe and drawing up the meds (threw that out, of course). I eventually got it but it took 2 syringes to get there. I think I was using the Q cap along with the giant mixing needle and I don't need both. I'll do better tomorrow, I think. At least it didn't burn as much as I thought it would! Now to brace myself (and DH) for the side effects.
Good luck @emeraldduchess!!! Hopefully the AFC ultrasound is more reliable than your AMH values and that your follies respond super well to the protocol. I am VERY excited for you.
Quick update from me: pelvic MRI results came in and no issues with my uterus! Woot. (Though it appears I have disc degeneration happening. 💩) Also got our genetic carrier screening results and I am a carrier for a rare disease - Nephrotic syndrome type 2. The chances of that happening at < 1 in 1M although the prognosis isn’t great.
I am leaving to go camping today followed by a cabin stay until next Thu and plan to disconnect from the world. And while I’m looking froward to my trip, I am sad about missing all of the exciting updates from you folks! Especially @emeraldduchess and @bluetickgal. I will catch next Thu/Fri when I’m back on the grid. Until then...
MAY TOUR FOLLIES GROW AND BE EVER SO FRUITFUL! AND MAY YOUR PARTNERS’ SWIMMERS GET THEIR SECOND WIND AND ACCOMPLISH WONDERFUL THINGS IN THE PROCESS!
@emeraldduchess the Q-caps should allow you to draw everything easily. Of course it's been so long, maybe I don't remember exactly how to do them. Do you have a training video you can watch that explains how to draw it up? You'll get better at it as you go! And yes, I swear it was like everyone would scream about how much menopur burns but it's like, ok there's a slight pinch and some warmth and that's it... what was the big deal?
@acleverusername yay for a good MRI! Sorry about your screening results. I'm curious, if you do IVF and screen the embryos for carriers, do doctors not want to transfer those at all if they're just a carrier vs being affected?

@inthewoods23 I did watch the training video and the woman didn't have a long needle on the syringe. I think that's what happened, I was using the Q-cap WITH the needle on the syringe and that was keeping me from being able to fill it up. I know I will get better. Hopefully they will adjust the meds on Tuesday so I won't run out. I told DH how much these meds would be without insurance and he almost spit out his coffee. That Gonal-F pens are like $1,000 each and they sent me several. Thank goodness you can get multiple doses out of one, right?
@emeraldduchess if I remember right, the Q-cap should screw onto the syringe. I know it's confusing when you get syringes with separate needles and some that include it! I always have that overwhelming feeling sorting through everything when it gets delivered.

@inthewoods23 that stinks you had to deal with all that on the forms, but that’s great it should all be taken care of now!
@emeraldduchess thanks, friend...that is the most fun train I’ve ever seen! ☺️ Sorry you had some issues with the Menopur, but I hope it’s smooth sailing from here on out! And hopefully the side-effects are kept at a minimum! @keikilove thanks, friend! The bloating discomfort is basically gone, so yay for that! (Scratch that...took a break before posting to try and do some P90X yoga with DH and the bloat is in fact still there! My lower belly couldn’t handle that!!) My goodness...you did a 180, waiting for AF and then ovulating instead!! Fingers crossed this is a miracle cycle! If not, I’m so hopeful you’ll be able to proceed with ER next cycle! I’m so sorry you are dealing with some doubts about actually being pregnant. I feel like I’m going to be so anxious if it actually happens for us again, and I haven’t been through half of what you have! 💜 I know that doesn’t help...but we will all be rooting for you when it happens!!
@ramzlau I don’t have any insight on that, but that’s great there is something that can be done to help improve the morph! And also good that it’s already above what is required for IVF...but hoping this cycle works and it doesn’t even matter!
@acleverusername glad everything looks good with your ute! Hopefully with that small of a chance, it is not something you will have to deal with! I’m not sure if I was actually the intended tag or not, but that’s a-ok! 😉 I hope you have an awesome time away and get to relax while being disconnected!
Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 8.10
@kpearse99 I'm sorry you're having a rough time, hang in there.
@akoros I'm glad you got an answer and that it seems like a manageable thing. I'm hoping so hard for you that this will make the difference!
@shoogapoff that is the best news! I'm so glad you get to go ahead with the transfer. I have everything crossed for you that this is the stickiest baby!
@kiki047 ugh, COME ON AF!
@kpearse99 I'm so sorry you're in a funk. Just be kind to yourself; its so hard to go through this month after month, let alone with added outside pressures. Sending you so much
Just talked to my RE, he is for sure my knight in shining armour.

@ramzlau Yay for the good numbers at your CD3 appt! FX that Clomid does the trick this cycle!
@emeraldduchess Yay for glad the insurance company did the right thing. I have no idea what that code means, but insurance lingo is always gibberish to me. Come ON AF.
@kiki047 So glad your RE is going to make it work! Your AF and Emerald’s need to get their asses back from whatever vacay they are on and do their damn jobs!
@misshelen86 So sorry about the Beta. Big hugs. I will keep everything crossed for you moving into IVF.
@acleverusername I don’t think a glass of wine would have any effect other than potentially relaxing you for implantation! I’ve been having alcohol on occasion during this off cycle, I just chose to abstain during stims and will again when I start my transfer protocol (although I don’t even know if that’s totally necessary).
@akoros That’s great that you may have gotten an answer and that it is something you can work with!
@shoogapoff So so glad to hear you will be able to transfer, looks like we will hopefully be FET buddies! Sending you all the sticky embryo vibes!
@kpearse99 So sorry you are still struggling, friend. It’s all a lot to process, so I hope you are being kind to yourself and letting yourself feel all the feels

@legallykate Yay! So much good news today!!!
AFM, I just got my CD21 labs back and the Clomid definitely worked, according to my progesterone level! Woohoo!
@misshelen86 so sorry the IUI wasn't successful 😢 DH had similar feelings with moving to IVF. The process seems so terrifying. I hope you can find peace in moving forward.
@acleverusername that employees and management 😂
@akoros I don't understand most of what you said, but I'm glad you've gotten some answers!
@shoogapoff I'm so glad they want to transfer that embryo!
@kiki047 your RE sounds like your BFF! That's awesome of him to do that
@legallykate yay for a good HSG!
@emeraldduchess Woohoo! Take that shenanigans!! Have a great US tomorrow!
@bbrahmbhatt yay progresterone!!

@inthewoods23 yay for good feelings lining up perfectly with FW! So glad you are in a better place now! ☺️
@emeraldduchess GL with your ultrasound! Keep us posted!
@acleverusername not that I know of; I had it checked once pre-clomid and it was within the normal range, but according to my google stalking, with Clomid cycles it is supposed to be even higher, above 15 to indicate "good ovulation" whatever that means.
ETA for typos
@emeraldduchess FX so hard you can start injections!!!! I responded well (almost too well actually) to the injections. They had me start with 1 vial of menopur and 150 of gonal-f. My first check up after starting the injections they dropped my gonal-f down to 75 to slow their growth down. Knowing your ovaries, yes, they need the extra kick in the butt.

@bbrahmbhatt Yay for the good progesterone level!
I did my Menopur in the morning and Gonal at night which I actually preferred versus doing them at the same time.Me: 37, MH: 38; Married August 2017
TTC #1 October 2017: BFP on 12/1/2017, DD born 7/24/2018 @ 37+1 after induction due to preeclampsia

@emeraldduchess So glad it finally showed up (and love the pun)!
@bbrahmbhatt Agreed, lots of good news all around (including yours)! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you
@emeraldduchess Yay for starting injections!
@gingermama29 Yay for being off the bench!
@ramzlau Yay for being off the bench!

Any questions?: How long does it take you to post in these threads? I always wonder if it's just me that takes at least an hour to read & respond... That's why I have to save this thread for when I have a serious chunk of time to commit. Otherwise, I just dabble here and there in the lighter threads when I have a few spare minutes...
GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be?
1. To have multiple children of my own without ever having to go through pregnancy
2. For all the pain & suffering of the world to just disappear
@ramzlau I know agglutination is when the sperm stick together so they can't move properly. I actually don't even know if our SA looked at that. It wasn't noted so I guess that wasn't an issue for us. I'd be curious to know if there is something that can help prevent that!

@acleverusername yay for a good MRI! Sorry about your screening results. I'm curious, if you do IVF and screen the embryos for carriers, do doctors not want to transfer those at all if they're just a carrier vs being affected?
