Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o 8.10

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):

  • @legallykate I have election-related anxiety, too.

@inthewoods23 I'm sorry work has you so anxious. Keep breathing, you will get everything done and it will be Fri-YAY before you know it!
  • @kpearse99 I'm so sorry that there have been new tears and emotions. So many hugs.  <3

@ramzlau I hear you on the swing of emotions! I can't wait to start injections and have my ER (and it seems SO weird to be looking forward to needles), but at the same time I'm scared that it won't work and I will have put my body and my heart through ALL this for more heartbreak.
  • @legallykate Covid and the election in the same year - ugh. It's not going to be pretty either way with the polls I think.

@emeraldduchess hmmm, maybe it's CD1. Hopefully that starts back up again so you can be sure it is. It's pretty sad to be hoping for Friday when it's only Monday morning  :D

@kpearse99 sounds like we both had some shit-tacular weekends. **hugs**  :'(<3<3

    @ramzlau good luck this cycle!

@kpearse99 Hugs girl because it seems like whatever it is, is very emotionally draining. I hope you find some helpful advice to help you navigate it!

@emeraldduchess I think I would call that CD1. I hope you get to start those injections soon! And whatever you did to piss the universe off I must be in the same boat with you, fx the insurance approved everything!

@inthewoods23 Work has me stressed too! Headed into the busy time of year. If you got your month long vacation where would you go? I have been dreaming of a getaway, anywhere at this point!

@legallykate Hope your results come back good and you get the go ahead for next cycle!
  • @ramzlau I'd love to go to a lake house in the woods in a rural part of the state. Or Iceland 😅 we loved Iceland. I just wanna go someplace quiet!

  • @inthewoods23 ugh anxiety is the worst. I'm sorry you're also dealing with it.

@legallykate FX for that end of the year bonus! And I agree wholeheartedly about this upcoming election. That was almost my 3rd wish. I'm so anxious for it to happen and praying all of the terrible people get booted from office.

@emeraldduchess good to know! Crossing everything for the insurance company to come through so you can get started with IVF asap!

@kpearse99 sending hugs. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of that right now.

@ramzlau crossing everything for you this cycle!
  • @gingermama29 Yay for being off the bench! I'm on an antidepressant and was told it would be fine to keep taking while TTC and even while pregnant.

@inthewoods23 so excited for your 2nd opinion! I hope you get some good insights from the new place. The separate patient accounts is a little annoying though. I hope this week improves for you friend <3

@legallykate A bonus?! That's awesome, you're killing it!  FX you get good news and the green light for FET next cycle!

@emeraldduchess I would probably say its CD1, but hopefully it returns so you know for sure.

@kpearse99 I'm so sorry you're going through all of these emotions and tough conversations back to back. Sending you so much <3

@ramzlau the ever-swinging emotions are REAL. I hope you are able to process and move through them without any negative emotions weighing you down too much. Hoping so hard that your IUI is successful!

Diagnosis (if you've been): unknown, workup is ongoing

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): PNVs, tracking CM, OPKs, timing, first cycle of Clomid

How are things going?: Eh, ok. I have been having one of those down weeks where it's just hard to drag yourself out of it. And work is going to be really busy this week and I'm on call this weekend, so there's that. Trying to get myself out of the neggies today.

    Any questions?: Not really

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? Pretty much the same as all of you lovelies...1. healthy pregnancy, 2. no more student loans, 3. an effective vaccine

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, unexplained RPL (no official diagnosis, but heading there)

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFAF/NTNP, didn't bother checking to see if I ovulated this month, so just hoping my cycle is more or less on schedule so we can reset. Should hopefully come in the next week or two

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Got almost all the test results back, so far all are normal. Once the last one or two come in I'll schedule a follow-up with the MFM to go over them and see what's next. I think I'm going to make a spreadsheet of the tests I've had and all those mentioned by you all here so that I can run down the list and ask questions. Thank you so much @keikilove and someone else (I think, I remember a post but can't find it) for all of that information.

How are things going?: Not bad? Got a lot done over the weekend, and finally bought a couch, which I'm weirdly excited about. Work also seems to be slowing down (at the risk of jinxing it), which is nice. Can use a break, it's been crazy for months on end.

    Any questions?: None right now

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be?
    1. Immediate end to the pandemic. Don't really care if it's a vaccine, mutation, or some other treatment, just would like it to be back to normal.
    2. Financial windfall for my parents that eliminates their debt so they have freedom to plan the next stage.
    3. A pregnancy that I know from the outset will be successful.
@legallykate @emeraldduchess Same with the election anxiety. Outside of political views, there are certain individuals at work (fed government) who need to leave for everyone's sanity, and I don't think they will of their own volition.

@inthewoods23 Iceland sounds lovely! (ok, anywhere but my house sounds wonderful)
  • @bbrahmbhatt I hear you on having those days where you just feel down and it's tough to pull yourself out. Hope things start to look brighter!

    @akoros yay for new furniture!

AFM, the results from last Monday's ultrasound just showed up in the patient portal. It says I may possibly have a "myometrial fibroid in the fundus". Well. Isn't that swell. I assume that if it was an immediate concern they would have told me, but seriously, it's just One. More. Thing. There were more than 10 antral follies on each side, so that's good, right? Still stuck in brown spotting. I called the RE and left a message asking what the heck I should do. After being there 3/5 days last week, maybe they should set up a cot for me in one of the closets.
  • @bbrahmbhatt based off my comments yesterday and a handful of people's today, we're all having a bad case of the Mondays!!

@akoros that's good that tests have come back normal! Agreed - anywhere but home sounds wonderful right now. I miss getting out, even as someone who's very much a homebody.

oh @emeraldduchess you are having a hell of a time aren't you? A cot would certainly save your the gas money right? That's a good antral follicle count! When they first checked me I remember the nurse saying they like to see 10 on each side.

@bluetickgal bringing in the good vibes today!!! Love it!! My cat and hedgehogs are definitely not that friendly with each other haha

  • @emeraldduchess thanks, friend <3  Sorry to hear about the fibroid, but that follie count is great! I have a submucosal fibroid,  but when I asked my OB she said she wasn't worried about it. I'm sure if they were worried they would have said something.

@inthewoods23 yeah, there must be something going around on TB!

@bluetickgal thank you for the good vibes; I needed some today!
  • @ramzlau I'm so happy you're off that darn bench!!!! I know the mixed feelings of being hopeful but not hopeful all too well haha

@bbrahmbhatt I totally feel ya on having a down week. I was like that all weekend and again today and it's hard to get out of that slump sometimes. :( Hang in there, friend. I'm sending you hugs!

@bluetickgal FRIEND those GIFs are exactly what we all needed today! Thank you so much <3 You always know how to cheer me up <3<3 As for the bloating and cramping, I had 2 IUI cycles where I felt like that afterwards for a several days and then I had other IUI cycles where I didn't feel anything. Not sure I'm much help haha

@akoros with all of the tests you've had done, I think making a spreadsheet is a great idea to help you keep track of it all!

  • Gah I jinxed myself saying I was a good level of busy and that turned into way too busy real quick today, lol. Finally catching my breath.

@inthewoods23 I think I posted at the same time as you earlier! What are the videos you have to watch? Sorry work is making you anxious, I can definitely relate to that.

@emeraldduchess Hope AF makes up her mind whether she is visiting or not, I hate confusing stuff like that! And booooo to the fibroid. I hope it isn’t a big issue and doesn’t mess stuff up.

@kpearse99 Oh no I’m so sorry you are having a rough time with non-TTC stuff. I wish everyone could just get their wishes and be happy too. FX things get smoother soon.

    @ramzlau Hope monitoring went well!

@bbrahmbhatt Hope your afternoon got better, at least Monday is over! Sounds like a lot of us were having rough Mondays today.

@akoros Yay for new couch and work easing up a bit!

@bluetickgal Boo for bloating but yay for feeling optimistic, will keep everything crossed for you!

  • @legallykate I actually don't know what they're about haha. Probably intro stuff, maybe some marketing-like stuff.

@emeraldduchess yay for approval! Does your insurance only give you one shot? I wonder if it's saying the approval expires once you've had the ER. I think IVF is considered aspirating the follicles. Thinking back to when I had that boob cyst drained - that's called a cyst aspiration and it's a similar thing to retrieve eggs.

  • @inthewoods23 I was curious after I saw that if yours were that cuddly! I feel like that’s probably rare! Haha.
@bbrahmbhatt glad I could help, if even just a little bit!
@kpearse99 ah, I was hoping it would! You do exactly the same thing for me, friend!! Of course...your bloat with Clomid and IUI, not sure why I hadn’t thought about that! It definitely helps...I just didn’t have it with Letrozole, so it is very different for me!
@ramzlau so glad they made you smile! That makes me feel better...not that you went through the misery too, but that it seems pretty normal! I did some googling of course, but I like hearing from people I actually “know”! Lol. Yay for great results, hoping with everything in me that this is the cycle for you!
@emeraldduchess thanks, friend! Yay for insurance coming through with the approval!! So sorry your body is still be confusing though, I hope you get a clear cut CD1 today!
@kiki047 ugh, that is so frustrating that Provera hasn’t worked for you yet! Prometrium didn’t work for me, but Provera has always done the trick! 🙁 This sucks so bad!! I’m sending all the AF vibes your way! Hopefully you and @emeraldduchess will both get CD1 today so you can move forward!! Ok, that’s good to know...I only had 3 (maybe 4) mature follicles, and he said I had some small ones, but I didn’t figure that was enough to be overstimulated. It is getting a little better everyday at least!
@misshelen86 thanks, friend! No beta scheduled, just supposed to test in 14 days (08/20)...but I might break my no testing early habit! So sorry for your negative beta, sending hugs your way!! 💜 I’m so hopeful that IVF will do the trick for you though!! So sorry for the grief and worry though, it’s so hard not to think about the “what if’s”! You are doing everything right now, just take it one day at a time! I hope the adoption meeting goes well tomorrow! Ours honestly gave me so much more comfort about the process...we are still hopeful with this final treatment plan, but we both have comfort if that is the route we go as well!
  • @kiki047 ugh that is so frustrating! Why can't our bodies just do what we want them to do! I hope you get some answers soon!

@misshelen86 I understand the mixed feelings, and it's so hard not to "what-if" about everything. You're doing everything possible, and yes, taking it one step at a time is all you can do. I'm crossing everything for you that it works out for you on the first go. <3

@ramzlau FX for your Clomid cycle!

@emeraldduchess yay for insurance approval! Grr for the lack of consistent flow. I hope she shows in full force so you can move on to the next cycle. Sending you so much positive thoughts <3
  • *Lurking* @kiki047 I'm so frustrated for you. I really hope AF shows for you soon so you can get your FET in without a delay!

  • @bbrahmbhatt those weeks are so rough. I hope things turn around for you soon.

@akoros oooh new couches are exciting! A spreadsheet definitely sounds like a good idea for all the testing.

@emeraldduchess ugh I'm sorry about your ultrasound results. Hopefully it ends up being nothing. But yay for the follies! Sorry AF isn't showing up too. Sending hugs.

@bluetickgal oooh sign me up for also wanting to eat whatever and not gain weight. I love your positivity and optimism. Crossing everything for you!!

@ramzlau sending you all the positive vibes for this cycle!!

@kiki047 I'm sorry AF isn't showing. Crossing everything that she gets here in time for you to get your time slot for your FET.

@misshelen86 I'm sorry for the BFN and the mixed emotions you're having right now. They are completely valid. I'm so hopeful for you in moving forward with IVF. Sending positive vibes your way.

Diagnosis (if you've been): I guess the closest diagnosis thus far is late luteal phase defect, which indicates a problem with ovulation. Plus PCOS. Anyway, basically... my ovaries are on strike and the talks between employees (ovaries) and management (my will?) are at an impasse.

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): wrapping up all the testing ordered by our RE before we finalize our treatment plan with her on 8/20. At the initial consult on 7/21, it was going to be superovulation + IUI. TBD if that holds once the results from genetic testing + my pelvic MRI (which was today) come back.

How are things going?: Oddly optimistic and hopeful that maybe we might have gotten lucky this month on our own. But, realistically, that's probably just my mind throwing a Hail Mary before we start down the IF treatment path for realisies. That said, I do think I had a very good ovulation this cycle... I ended up doing 3 pre-O estrogen tests (ordered by the NaPro OB) and so far the results of the first 2 tests are back and Estrogen levels were really good. Also had the highest 1DPO bbt jump then all previous cycles. I know I'm grasping at straws, but ... 🤷‍♀️

Either way, if this cycle doesn't work, I'm really looking forward to starting with IUIs. We had our IUI Orientation session yesterday and got some great info from the care team at our clinic.

Any questions?: The only pressing question I have is: to drink or not to drink? DH and I have all but given up booze since we started trying in Feb, but had been dabbling in a glass of wine or 2 whenever AF shows up but before O. BUT, I've been doing Whole30 since 7/13 (today is Day 30) and I am CRAVING some wine, but it's TWW AND possibly doing IUI next cycle. So, I just don't know if I should risk having a glass of wine during TWW leading up to IF treatment.

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? In the interest of not repeating what's already been said...
    1. Wish already used up
    2. To be able to buy a house -- don't know where yet! Likely back home since who the heck can afford to buy a place in SF?
    3. 10 more wishes (there was no rule against wishing for more wishes, and I think 10 is a nice number of additional wishes.)

@acleverusername Yes, it was you! Thank you so much for that, I'd bookmarked it but then couldn't find the original post to remember who steered me there.

So, I think I might have gotten some sort of answer? My Factor V Leiden test came back positive for a heterozygous mutation, which increases my risk for blood clots and has been linked to miscarriages after 10 weeks. There's a couple more tests that I think need to come in based on the PowerPoint the counselor sent me (Factor II, which is recommended by the lab as well, Protein C and S, and Antithrombin III), and then the lab also recommends Factor V R2 DNA analysis, which I'm assuming we'll talk about when I get a follow-up appointment. Kind of a mix of emotions, though admittedly a bit relieved that it's a possible answer and looks to be something manageable. Will also simplify my spreadsheet research somewhat, as I have something to target around.
  • @gingermama29 thanks, friend!! Yes, give me all the food...carbs and sweets galore if I’m not gaining weight! Haha
@acleverusername thanks, friend! I’m glad the “pick-me-uppers” helped you some too!! I’m so hopeful this cycle is going to be a success for you too! That’s great you are excited about the plan for IUI if not though! It feels good when you get to the end of the testing and actually get to start treatment, but I’m really hoping you don’t actually need the treatment!
@akoros that is great news that they may have discovered the issue and it should be manageable! That has to be somewhat of a relief!
@shoogapoff that is very exciting news, friend...I’m hoping with everything in me that this is the stickiest embaby!!!!! 🤞🏻💜🤞🏻💜
@kiki047 still sending those AF vibes! Right...we don’t ask for AF that often, give it to us when we want it please!! I hope you don’t get pushed to the back of the line...or at the very least, the limitations on your RE’s FETs per month get lifted if that is the case!!
@kpearse99 still sending you hugs and positive vibes!! 💜 Things will get better, I just know it!!
