What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): trying naturally. Just finished 3 months of BC to balance out hormones.

How are things going?: Things are good TTC-wise! I'm thrilled to be off the bench and actively trying again!
Mentally, things are rough. My anxiety is off the charts with school resuming in person in less than a month. I've been thinking about contacting my PCP and seeing if I can get something for my anxiety (ideally something I could continue to take safely if I got KU).

Any questions?: Is anyone here on any anxiety meds while TTC?

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): trying naturally, getting a 2nd opinion in a little less than 2 weeks

How are things going?: ehhhhh alright. Work has me feeling anxious a bit this week (just lots to do) and I'm feeling anxious about getting everything sent in to the other RE for our 2nd opinion. I'd like to have that all taken care of by the end of the week. This place is weird because DH and I have separate patient accounts so I think we had to show that the same videos have been watched in both accounts

Any questions?: not really

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1. get KU and never deal with IF again, 2. no more anxiety, 3. to go on a month long vacation

@gingermama29 Yay for being off the bench and officially trying! I'm sorry you are struggling with anxiety. I haven't personally taken anything (although I probably would have benefited at times) but [***TW: pregnancies***] I have multiple friends who have taken anxiety meds while TTC and even pregnant and they all have healthy babies. Definitely worth a convo with your PCP, no need to be struggling unnecessarily. 

Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, DOR

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO. Expecting this to be a crazy long follicular phase based on what I've read about the cycle after an ER. I haven't been temping but may start just to be able to predict CD1 better.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Did my HSG last week, should hear from my RE about it this week and hopefully get the green light to transfer next cycle.

How are things going?: Can't complain. Work is really busy but in a good way and if I can keep up this pace the rest of the year I'll be looking at a really nice bonus come spring which would be nice in light of these unexpected out of pocket IVF costs we've had this year. 

Any questions?: None at the moment.

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? (1) Successful FET, (2) effective vaccine ASAP, (3) I won't go into specifics so as to avoid offending anyone, but for things to go the way I want at the polls come November, I have serious anxiety about it already.

@gingermama29 I take anxiety medication. Both my primary care and my RE told me to continue taking it while TTC and it is generally safe to continue during pregnancy. Both my doctors emphasized that it's important for me to be healthy mentally, not just physically. 

Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained IF, unexplained RPL, AMA

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Well...I had a bit of bright red flow early this morning, but it seems to have stopped. Do I call it as CD1?? I had brown spotting, cramps and was crazy bloated all weekend. Good times.  

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF, I hope. It depends if the insurance company came through. 

How are things going?: OK. Just want something to go smoothly for once, whether it's IF treatment or the job search. I'm wondering what I did to piss off the universe.   

Any questions?: Just not sure if I should call today CD1 yet.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Just "doing it" whenever we feel like it! haha

How are things going?: Oh boy, well, they are fine on the TTC or NTNP front but not so great at all in other areas. I don't want to elaborate too much since I talked about DS in last week's update but I'll just say that my divorce has come up along with a ton of tears and emotions. I really don't know how to handle this 

Any questions?: Lots, but none that are TTC or IF related.

@ramzlau I hear you on the swing of emotions! I can't wait to start injections and have my ER (and it seems SO weird to be looking forward to needles), but at the same time I'm scared that it won't work and I will have put my body and my heart through ALL this for more heartbreak.

@legallykate FX for that end of the year bonus! And I agree wholeheartedly about this upcoming election. That was almost my 3rd wish. I'm so anxious for it to happen and praying all of the terrible people get booted from office.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): PNVs, tracking CM, OPKs, timing, first cycle of Clomid

How are things going?: Eh, ok. I have been having one of those down weeks where it's just hard to drag yourself out of it. And work is going to be really busy this week and I'm on call this weekend, so there's that. Trying to get myself out of the neggies today.

Any questions?: Not really

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? Pretty much the same as all of you lovelies...1. healthy pregnancy, 2. no more student loans, 3. an effective vaccine

Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, unexplained RPL (no official diagnosis, but heading there)

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFAF/NTNP, didn't bother checking to see if I ovulated this month, so just hoping my cycle is more or less on schedule so we can reset. Should hopefully come in the next week or two

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Got almost all the test results back, so far all are normal. Once the last one or two come in I'll schedule a follow-up with the MFM to go over them and see what's next. I think I'm going to make a spreadsheet of the tests I've had and all those mentioned by you all here so that I can run down the list and ask questions. Thank you so much @keikilove and someone else (I think, I remember a post but can't find it) for all of that information. 

How are things going?: Not bad? Got a lot done over the weekend, and finally bought a couch, which I'm weirdly excited about. Work also seems to be slowing down (at the risk of jinxing it), which is nice. Can use a break, it's been crazy for months on end. 

Any questions?: None right now

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be?

1. Immediate end to the pandemic. Don't really care if it's a vaccine, mutation, or some other treatment, just would like it to be back to normal.
2. Financial windfall for my parents that eliminates their debt so they have freedom to plan the next stage.
3. A pregnancy that I know from the outset will be successful. 

@legallykate @emeraldduchess Same with the election anxiety. Outside of political views, there are certain individuals at work (fed government) who need to leave for everyone's sanity, and I don't think they will of their own volition.

@akoros yay for new furniture! 

AFM, the results from last Monday's ultrasound just showed up in the patient portal. It says I may possibly have a "myometrial fibroid in the fundus". Well. Isn't that swell. I assume that if it was an immediate concern they would have told me, but seriously, it's just One. More. Thing. There were more than 10 antral follies on each side, so that's good, right? Still stuck in brown spotting. I called the RE and left a message asking what the heck I should do. After being there 3/5 days last week, maybe they should set up a cot for me in one of the closets.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Follistim, IUI, and Progesterone

How are things going?: Doing well aside from some lingering bloating and just wishing time would go faster! I’m still super optimistic about this cycle, but I also know realistically that it may not happen with the first IUI with injectables. I’m already anxious to test and I’m not even close to possible implantation...bring on the crazy! Lol. We had a pretty lazy weekend, which was wonderful!! Trying to take it a little easier during this TWW! 

Any questions?: Did anyone doing injectables have major bloating after? I feel like with IVF that makes sense, because you have so many follies...but what about with IUI? I had really bad cramping/bloating the night of the IUI and the bloating & discomfort has continued 4 days later, although it is getting better. 

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 

1. That we could get our 🌈!!
2. That everyone here could get their THB’s soon! 

3. That I could eat whatever I wanted and wouldn’t gain weight...I like to eat! Lol.

@inthewoods23 sorry you are dealing with some anxiety this week! That’s silly you both had to prove that you watched the videos on separate accounts, but I hope it’s easy peasy getting the rest of the info to them!

@emeraldduchess that sounds like CD1 to me, even if it didn’t last long. I hope insurance pulls through and you can start your ER cycle!! And fingers crossed both things go right for you, so soon!!! Ugh, sorry your US results showed that, but yeah...I’d think they would have told you if it was of major concern. That sounds very promising on the follicle counts! I hope you get some clarity from them very soon on how to proceed!

@akoros that's good that tests have come back normal! Agreed - anywhere but home sounds wonderful right now. I miss getting out, even as someone who's very much a homebody.

oh @emeraldduchess you are having a hell of a time aren't you? A cot would certainly save your the gas money right? That's a good antral follicle count! When they first checked me I remember the nurse saying they like to see 10 on each side.

@emeraldduchess thanks, friend   Sorry to hear about the fibroid, but that follie count is great! I have a submucosal fibroid,  but when I asked my OB she said she wasn't worried about it. I'm sure if they were worried they would have said something.

Not sure I'm much help haha

AFM: Results from today are in FSH a 7, A1C at 5.1 and 23 follies. We are going with Clomid and hoping this cycle works so we don’t have to worry about a cyst. Going to borrow some Hope from my RE on this one!

Looks like the insurance came through and it says approval is extended through February. I'm not sure what "cancelled after aspiration case rate" means, but it says approved next to it, so...I think we're good to go? Anyone know why that might be on there or what that actually means?

@emeraldduchess yay for approval! Does your insurance only give you one shot? I wonder if it's saying the approval expires once you've had the ER. I think IVF is considered aspirating the follicles. Thinking back to when I had that boob cyst drained - that's called a cyst aspiration and it's a similar thing to retrieve eggs.

@inthewoods23 I don't think we have a limit to IVF cycles on our insurance. It probably says "cancelled after aspiration" because there's no code for "cancelled due to global pandemic". 

Still no steady flow. I am so sick of these body shenanigans. This is CD42 right now and I O'ed around July 19. What. Is. Going. On?!  I wonder if my hormones are all screwy because of the estrogen patch I have on. And now I am freaking out that I won't be able to do my ER because it will conflict with the start date of a new job (which I don't even have yet). I was awake way past midnight with major anxiety about this.

Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, MFI 

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Who even knows... Currently on CD45. My cycles are usually 28-30 days long, 3 BFNs, took 5 days of Provera from CDs 33-37, last pill was last Monday and here I am 8 days later and still no AF. FML. 

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): WFAF for our FET, but my body is f*cking with me so we're going to miss our time slot. 

How are things going?: Hah. Well the provera turned me into a crabby, hormonal psycho so I was just a joy to deal with for a week, and now I'm upset because it didn't even work and we're going to miss our 2-week window for our FET (because my RE is only allowed to do 1 transfer in every 2 week period). 

Any questions?: What's wrong with me?  

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1. A healthy, normal pregnancy that results in our THB... (and not just for me, for all of you too!). I'd honestly use all 3 wishes on that alone. But my other wish would be financial security for my in-laws so my MIL could retire without worry (company FIL worked for went backrupt over a decade ago and he never went back to work, and no company = no pension).

@kiki047 wtf with multiple people here taking provera and it doing nothing?? Is their Quality person Creed Bratton? Are they making something ineffective and they don't even know it?

@kiki047 That really sucks if you miss out on your FET.. is it definitely too late now? How long will you have to wait now to do the transfer? The waiting is truly one of the hardest things about IF. So sorry friend

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Beta on Friday was negative. Taking this month off to NTNP.. we are signed up for IVF next month. We will be doing PGT as long as we get more than 2-3 embryos. We are also attending an online information session for adoption tomorrow just to have another option in case we go that route in the future

How are things going?: I’m having very mixed feelings right now. I’m excited to be moving forward with IVF since this gives us our best chance at having a baby. But I’m grieving the fact that we have been unsuccessful on our own/with IUI. I’m worried that we won’t get any embryos. I hate the fact that we have to spend so much money. We have no coverage so it will be out of pocket but we will get some back in taxes. I’m trying to just take this one step/one appointment at a time but it’s really hard to not get sucked into the future and the “what-ifs”.

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? Mine are similar to most..  1. To get KU 2. To be able to travel again (i.e. for this pandemic to be done!) 3. For IVF to be covered for everyone who needs it

@gingermama29 yay for being off the bench! I hear you on the anxiety. I take lorazepam as needed for panic attacks and my Dr and RE both agree that it's fine while TTC but I'll have to switch to something else if/when we get KU. I hope you can find something that works for you  
@inthewoods23 I'm glad you're getting a second opinion, hope that goes well. **And since it's taken me all morning to type this up, adding that YES wtf is with provera not working?! I don't get it though, there is something called the progesterone challenge test and if you don't have a bleed within 2 weeks of finishing the provera or PIO then it could indicate either 1. E2 levels are too low, or some kind of blockage that could be preventing flow (which we know is not the case) so I'm apparently just broken. My estrogen levels have always been off the charts due to my PCOS so I don't think that's it. I'm going to push for some follow-up BW this week to see what's going on.
@legallykate I disappeared when you gave your last update on your PGT, so happy for you! FX your HSG comes back clear so you can start FET prep!
@emeraldduchess yahoo on insurance approval! Doing a happy dance for you! I hope that fibroid doesn't cause any issues. I'm no doctor but it sounds to me that if it's an intramural fundal fibroid it means it's up high between your ovaries so theoretically shouldn't impact anything too much especially if you're doing IVF. FX your RE can clarify soon for you!

@ramzlau FX for your clomid cycle!! and I'm with you on the travel soon pls. Selfishly I don't actually mind the quarantine because I'm crabby and dislike people but I do miss being able to travel. We always said we'd travel lots before baby, and that made us feel like we were at least living our best lives even with the huge hole that IF leaves but the travel bans are really cramping our style lol.

@bluetickgal I was bloated AF for the ER and it didn't go down for a while. I wasn't crazy over-stimulated either, my RE had me on a real low and slow protocol. Hopefully you get some relief soon! 
@misshelen86 I'm so so sorry for the BFN.   Glad you're able to move forward with IVF but I completely understand the heaviness of what that means and it's so hard not to go down the rabbit-hole of "what-ifs". That was how I felt going into it, feeling like what if we do IVF and it doesn't even work? But you don't know unless you try!! You've got this, friend! And we'll be here every step of the way.

@kpearse99 ah, I was hoping it would! You do exactly the same thing for me, friend!! Of course...your bloat with Clomid and IUI, not sure why I hadn’t thought about that! It definitely helps...I just didn’t have it with Letrozole, so it is very different for me!

@kiki047 ugh, that is so frustrating that Provera hasn’t worked for you yet! Prometrium didn’t work for me, but Provera has always done the trick! 🙁 This sucks so bad!! I’m sending all the AF vibes your way! Hopefully you and @emeraldduchess will both get CD1 today so you can move forward!! Ok, that’s good to know...I only had 3 (maybe 4) mature follicles, and he said I had some small ones, but I didn’t figure that was enough to be overstimulated. It is getting a little better everyday at least! 

@misshelen86 thanks, friend! No beta scheduled, just supposed to test in 14 days (08/20)...but I might break my no testing early habit! So sorry for your negative beta, sending hugs your way!! 💜 I’m so hopeful that IVF will do the trick for you though!! So sorry for the grief and worry though, it’s so hard not to think about the “what if’s”! You are doing everything right now, just take it one day at a time! I hope the adoption meeting goes well tomorrow! Ours honestly gave me so much more comfort about the process...we are still hopeful with this final treatment plan, but we both have comfort if that is the route we go as well!

Oh boy, there's a lot of catching up to do!

@gingermama29 it's already been said, but there's no shame or harm in taking something for your anxiety even while you TTC / KU'ed. I remember having a preemptive convo about this with my PCP (years ago, when I was taking anti-anxiety meds) and she confirmed that for those who need it, the benefit of taking something far outweigh any negative side-effects. My NaPro OB said that Zoloft is well-research as the safest-while-KU'ed anti-anxiety med. 

@inthewoods23 having separate accounts is understandable from a HIPAA perspective, but not having to "prove" you've watched the same videos. You should be able to drag the slider of the video until the end that will mark it as watched. Otherwise just leave it playing in the background, right? I hope you get your ducks in order so that the 2nd opinion visit next week goes smooooothly. 

@legallykate for starters, I just understood your choice of username. LOL. I hope you manage to bring the balance back to "just busy enough" so that all systems are in equilibrium for next cycle's FET!

@emeraldduchess AF is just such a bitch; I hope that by now you have more clarity on whether or not it was CD1. Also, agreed that if the myometrial fundus fibroid (try saying that 10x) was something to worry about, you'd have gotten a call. And super great news about insurance approval! And 10 follies on each side! It's GAME ON! (And I'm sure you'll land your dream job soon too; I have a feeling that August is your month!) 

@kpearse99 I am so sorry you're struggling with for the 2nd week in a row; I wish there was something I could do other than wishing that your wishes come true. Also, keep on "just doing it" (And I don't mean wearing a ton of Nike gear. 😉)

@ramzlau Good luck with IUI #4. What are you doing differently this time? Also, 23 follies on Day 3 is AWESOME. Hopefully Clomid will do the trick. 

@bbrahmbhatt Did you shake off the neggies? (I like that word btw; I'm gonna steal it). If not, just be kind to yourself. You're in the TWW so it's easy to get overrun by (negative) emotions and "the weight of it all". 

@akoros what the others have already said re: spreadsheets. LOL. I think I've also referenced this article for RPL testing. Of course, @keikilove's is an experienced-based list, so you'll probably get a lot of overlap between her testing and what's in that list. 

@bluetickgal I really really really hope this was your cycle; and your attitude is super positive so that can only help things go in that direction! Thanks so much for your "pick-me-uppers". That really did the trick (I too had a case of the Monday's yesterday, along with a few others on here!)

@kiki047 Oh no! Why must your body do this to you! So. Freaking. Unfair! Have you talked to your doctor about this? What does missing this window mean? Argh, I'm sorry that Provera f**ked with your emotions so badly. My wish for both you and @emeraldduchess (I'm using up 1/3 of my wishes) is that AF shows up. 

@misshelen86 I am so sorry that your IUI was unsuccessful. 🙁Grieving is part of the ttc process so taking the month off to work through those emotions seems like a very good decision. I totally hear you on the cost of IVF; nothing's covered for me either, and unfortunately I don't work for one of the tech co's in CA whose insurance covers it. So THANK YOU for your wish of having it be offered free of charge for anyone who needs it 🙏🏻.

Diagnosis (if you've been): I guess the closest diagnosis thus far is late luteal phase defect, which indicates a problem with ovulation. Plus PCOS. Anyway, basically... my ovaries are on strike and the talks between employees (ovaries) and management (my will?) are at an impasse. 

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): wrapping up all the testing ordered by our RE before we finalize our treatment plan with her on 8/20. At the initial consult on 7/21, it was going to be superovulation + IUI. TBD if that holds once the results from genetic testing + my pelvic MRI (which was today) come back. 

How are things going?: Oddly optimistic and hopeful that maybe we might have gotten lucky this month on our own. But, realistically, that's probably just my mind throwing a Hail Mary before we start down the IF treatment path for realisies. That said, I do think I had a very good ovulation this cycle... I ended up doing 3 pre-O estrogen tests (ordered by the NaPro OB) and so far the results of the first 2 tests are back and Estrogen levels were really good. Also had the highest 1DPO bbt jump then all previous cycles. I know I'm grasping at straws, but ... 🤷‍♀️

Either way, if this cycle doesn't work, I'm really looking forward to starting with IUIs. We had our IUI Orientation session yesterday and got some great info from the care team at our clinic. 

Any questions?: The only pressing question I have is: to drink or not to drink? DH and I have all but given up booze since we started trying in Feb, but had been dabbling in a glass of wine or 2 whenever AF shows up but before O. BUT, I've been doing Whole30 since 7/13 (today is Day 30) and I am CRAVING some wine, but it's TWW AND possibly doing IUI next cycle. So, I just don't know if I should risk having a glass of wine during TWW leading up to IF treatment. 

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? In the interest of not repeating what's already been said...
1. Wish already used up
2. To be able to buy a house -- don't know where yet! Likely back home since who the heck can afford to buy a place in SF?
3. 10 more wishes (there was no rule against wishing for more wishes, and I think 10 is a nice number of additional wishes.)

@acleverusername Yes, it was you! Thank you so much for that, I'd bookmarked it but then couldn't find the original post to remember who steered me there.  

So, I think I might have gotten some sort of answer? My Factor V Leiden test came back positive for a heterozygous mutation, which increases my risk for blood clots and has been linked to miscarriages after 10 weeks. There's a couple more tests that I think need to come in based on the PowerPoint the counselor sent me (Factor II, which is recommended by the lab as well, Protein C and S, and Antithrombin III), and then the lab also recommends Factor V R2 DNA analysis, which I'm assuming we'll talk about when I get a follow-up appointment. Kind of a mix of emotions, though admittedly a bit relieved that it's a possible answer and looks to be something manageable. Will also simplify my spreadsheet research somewhat, as I have something to target around.

How are things going?: I talked to the Research Coordinator this morning. She said the study has said we need to re-biopsy the embryo. But our Embryologist disagreed and asked for them to reconsider. It's going up the chain of command for approval. I am grateful that our center is advocating for us. The Research Coordinator said this "hasn't happened to anyone" so they have no idea what our options are. ***EDIT*** Okay, so the Research Coordinator called me as I was typing this and said the study sponsor is going to let us transfer anyway! 

Any questions?: How do I make this baby stick?! :P 

GTKY: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1. To have a THB, obviously, but if we're talking magical genie wishes, I'm going to think big and say that I wish infertility didn't exist! 2. For all the dogs and cats of the world to have safe and happy homes (mostly so I wouldn't feel pressured to take all of them home and MH would stop having to tell me we can't have anymore animals!) 3. To be independently wealthy, so that we could do the fun things we want, but also so we could help others when they need it.

@bluetickgal of all the times I've wished for AF to show up (before our first monitoring appt, before our ER, and with 1st FET) she took her sweet time. This is a new record though.

@acleverusername oh you are too kind to use one of your wishes on us   I would do the same for you guys in a heartbeat! If we miss our window we go to the back of the line because he's already lined up the next 2-3 months worth of cycles. The only saving grace would be if the lab loosened the (covid) restrictions and let him do more than the 2/month he's currently allowed. Last time we talked about doing BCP before our transfer but I had been regular up until this month so he didn't think it was necessary. FML. As for your Q about drinking - I'm firmly in the 'drink til it's pink' camp, and as long as it is in moderation a drink here and there is completely safe. @mvt2003 inspired what she called her 'farewell tour' of consuming all the things she wouldn't be able to have when she got KU, and it worked so bring onnnn the wine, runny eggs, deli meats, etc. 
@akoros ohhh I've never heard of that but it's good you're getting some answers! I hope that's the first step in the right direction in finding a treatment plan that will work for you. FX FX!
@shoogapoff oh goodness friend, what a rollercoaster. I'm so relieved for you that they're letting you transfer your embie without needing to re-biopsy. Did they say what 'inconclusive' meant? Like was it just that it was neither normal nor abnormal or was there a problem with the test? That's frustrating.

Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes. It means a lot. I'm sorry I've been sort of ghostly this week, so far, it's just been a hard week and I'm stuck in a funk. I'm just struggling with how to process everything that's going on and what the best way is to handle it so that no one feels the way they have been feeling. I know I will get through this too.

Dammit @kiki047!!! Come on AF, what is going on? We need you to do your thing and show up this one last time so that my friend can move forward with her treatment!! Get your ish together!!

@misshelen86 oh friend, I'm so sorry this last cycle didn't work out and that you have so many mixed emotions. I hate how everything is always so up in the air for all of us, the uncertainty is always so hard to take and accept. I love that you're keeping all these options open though and getting information on adoption as a back up plan.
