Re: July Symptoms

  • @hedgepig this was me with DD and starting with the twins! Big meals make me feel AWFUL with heartburn and super pukey. Snacking on small things throughout the day is the only solution.

  • My belly button got to the "flat" stage with my 2 girls, and it was so uncomfortable.

I don't want a Halloween baby, but the 30th would be ok. Lol
DD#1 is April 26, and the latest Easter can ever be is the 25th, so I'm good there. DD2 is November 22, so every few years her bday is on Thanksgiving. Not terrible, since it's not EVERY year, but I'm still not a fan.

I had a faint linea negra with 1 and 2, but I don't think it appeared til 30ish weeks.

  • So much pressure in the pelvic region 😩 Also having some shortness of breath today for the first time. I’m sure it’s pregnancy related, but of course my mind goes straight to covid 🙄
  • @lalarose22 me too! Husband laughed at me for breathing heavily while brushing my teeth 😂
  • Just had to break out my compression socks from when I was pregnant with DS1! The swelling isn't terrible (yet) but it was noticeable enough for me to want to do something about it.
  • @acdc1109 do you have some you’d recommend? I’m starting to swell too and have never tried any.
Anyone else dealing with dry, sore nipples? I’m wondering if nipple balm for nursing would be a good idea now but I’ve never used any aside from the early nursing days.
  • @surlyjaneausten +1 here for the dry sore nipples. :( right now I'm just making sure to get moisturizing lotion all over after I dry off from the shower. I've had the worst nipple pain, but I also did with DS. Woke up in the middle of the night a few nights ago because they were so sore. Last pregnancy if the pain persisted, a warm shower seemed to help a bit!
  • @surlyjaneausten I honestly bought mine at a CVS Pharmacy and they're a pretty basic pair, but they get the job done! I'm sure compression socks are sold at most drug stores/pharmacies so you'll have options.
  • @surlyjaneausten Haven't needed any, yet, BUT a lot of people I know are really into the Comrad compression socks. They aren't cheap, but come in really cool colors!
  • @potofgolden haven't given it a try but it's going on my grocery list now! :P
  • Does anyone else have crazy shooting breast pain?? Ouch.
  • I've used coconut oil and I like it!
@kerriec93 I'm sure you know what coconut oil is but the first time I bought it i was confused because it was in a jar and looked hard instead if runny like other oils😂
  • Lower back pain😣 at about hip level and to the right of my spine. It's not constant but I'll get shooting pain if I move certain ways or if I haven't moved in a while like getting out of bed in the morning. At times I can't put any weight on my right leg, it'll just give out on me. Also, im pretty sure my stomach muscles are seperating. When i lay on my back and lift my head up so the muscles flex, i get a soft ridge down the middle of my stomach and can feel a gap. I did some research and I guess it's pretty common? Anyone else had that? I also read that it can cause back pain because the stomach muscles arent doing their job so that's just great!🙄😫 i have dr appt on Monday so will ask then. Also, if anyone has had separating stomach muscles, was there any way to strengthen the muscles when already pregnant?

@surlyjaneausten @kerriec93 have you tried coconut oil on the nips. The kind you cook with or wear. I bought a jar in the oils/food section at W-Mart while pregnant with DD. It really helped and I felt like a body builder.. all slick like 🤣
i agree, coconut oil has really been helpful.
As a FTM, does everyone get stretch marks? At what weeks do stretch marks on the abdomen appear?

    Sorry, that sounds really painful.
  • @memar12 I have no idea when the stretch marks appear. With DD1 I was pretty regular at using the palmers stretch mark lotion on my tummy, but they show up anyway. This go around I have not been consistent. They are everywhere, but they are probably left overs from DD1 since I only had a year to recover.
  • Re: stretch marks... I have been using lots of palmers and shower oil but my mom got them really bad with her first pregnancy (me) so I expect them regardless. Although, she did say her mom never got any or her sisters so I am holding onto a tiny bit of hope, lol!! But I asked my mom when hers showed up and she said they actually appeared AFTER she gave birth, like within a few days I believe, so she thought she was in the clear and then her body said NOPE! Just kidding!  :#   :s
  • @memar12 - like others have said, it really depends. With my first pregnancy, I thought I escaped them and then all of a sudden at like 35 weeks, I had them EVERYWHERE on my belly and upper thighs. I had been using all the creams too.

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts OMG YES. I’ve hardly nested with the others. This time ...we’ll I’ve already sorted the baby clothes twice and am currently streamlining (donating) outfits that are muted colors. I’m hoping to inventory all our things this weekend 😳. My DH is completely surprised...so am I!!
  • @name1109 YES! I've pulled out all DDs swaddle blankets, hooded towels, sheets, changing pad covers, etc. All the 3mo and smaller clothes, but still have to sort through the rest. Need to get a shelf or two put up and waiting for SDs loft bed frame to come in. I barely nested with DD, but holy guacamole it's intense this time around lol.

Btw SD LOVES the play nook! Her response "eeeek, it's so cool!"

  • @surlyjaneausten Same here! The "baby's" room is currently our playroom and DS2 is still using the crib. We probably won't do any room re-arranging until after Christmas or later because I 100% don't trust DS2 outside of a crib at bedtime and the baby will be in my room anyway! Ironically enough, DH has been nesting and wanting to clean/organize the house! 😂
  • @surlyjaneausten ughhhh sleep regressions are soooooo hard.

@acdc1109 DD is still in our mini crib too. I set up the full sized convertible crib we just got as a toddler bed to have her try out. It did NOT go well. That girl does not want to have more room to sleep in 🤣 she's a let me curl up and smash myself into a corner sleeper so the current plan is not to force the issue and keep her in the minicrib for the time being and have the twins share the bigger crib until they need their own space/start rolling over. Hopefully DD will be more inclined towards a big girl bed by then or worst case we move her to the bigger crib and get a secondary minicrib 🤷🏻 we'll be crib city!  The very first few nights the twins will be in a pack n play in our room, but they'll move pretty quickly to their crib. We literally share a wall between the bedrooms and have a doorway connecting the two. When DD was a newborn I freaked out about moving her from our room to her crib and very quickly learned I could hear her just as well with that doorway open and I was less likely to startle at every little sleepy noise she'd make. Plus she slept better as well (MH is notorious for falling asleep with the TV on) 😑

  • I've been having the worst acid reflux lately. Last night it ended up making me sick and I ended up sleeping on the recliner.

I've gotten tired and kinda lazy lately, so the energy I had before to set up the nursery has been put on hold. Getting bigger lately and hoping I don't miss my chance to get everything in order...
  • @ksdelong20 the heat definitely makes it worse for me. I'm quite miserable in heat not pregnant. But add baby(ies) and I am a grumpy mess unless I am in my air conditioned house. MH had a *brilliant* idea to go camping tonight for his buddy's b-day (with a heat advisory in effect 🤦🏻) so I said I'd join them simply to eat dinner and then go home. I was out for all of about 2 hours and spent about 20 of it sitting in my car in the ac and I was MISERABLE. I could barely get up and down and when I did I needed help, forget about chasing DD instead made DH, SD, & friend chase after her while I was a bump on a log, drank two large bottles of water, ate about 1/2 a burger, made DH put DD in her carseat, and said buh bye. Maybe next time he'll listen to me when I say it's a terrible idea.

@warmwinter ugh reflux sucks! Can you try laying in bed put with some pillows piled up behind you so you're more sitting than laying? Might be slightly more comfortable than a recliner.

@bserena darned sneaky stretch marks 😆 I'll look in the mirror occassionally and be like oh look there's a new one where'd you'd come from.

@warmwinter Me too! We want out for supper for DH's birthday this week and I had indigestion /reflux so bad I was sure I had food poisoning!! Might have to skip Indian food for the next couple months...
  • @memar12 you could get lucky and not end up with stretch marks! I didn't get any with DS and I never used any creams. My mom didnt get any stretch marks the 3 times she gave birth though so I think its genetics for me.

I cant wait to get into our new house so I can start nesting! It's impossible to nest in a house when you plan on leaving said house 😆

@warmwinter ugh I had pizza the other night and was miserable after. It felt like a hole was being burned into my chest and I couldn't stop burping. Solidarity!

I've been dealing with a cramp in my lower right abdomen everytime I try and go for a walk. I'm not sure what it is but I love going for walks and it's making it impossible to take walks! I dont notice it when I'm walking around the house but as soon as I try and go for a walk outside with DS it flares up and I have to come home and sit down. It feels exactly like the cramps you get when you eat and then walk/run too soon after. It's on the same side every time. I'm assuming it's an internal organ or what not that's being squished or pulled or something. I thought about trying a belly band to see if that helps. Does anyone have a belly band they love? I never used one with DS.
  • @dumbledoredies a belly band might help. I haven't gotten mine yet. My OB sent me to PT to get fitted for one and I should be getting it sometime this week 🤞🤞🤞 I am SUPER excited for it lmao. I'll keep you posted on if it helps.

Pizza is the WORST because it tastes soooo good but then BAM heartburn/reflux 😭

  • @ksdelong20 OH MY GOSH I AM SO SORRY! I've been dealing with SI issues on my right side for years, and every pregnancy it gets worse. I was at the Chiro for an adjustment 3 days a week with DS1, and this go around I've opted to do prenatal pilates and I swear its been a God send. I haven't had a single Chiro visit and im actually able to adjust myself on my own now the few times I feel like I need it. I'm not sure if pilates is of interest or an option for you, but if so then I 2 million % recommend it. im converted! I hope you find relief somehow soon, the discomfort is the worst and im sending hugs!

  • @ksdelong20 I feel you! It seems like every other sentence when talking to my husband is a complaint about my physical state. And I realized the other night while laying uncomfortably in bed that it’s only going to get worse 😳. Only 18 weeks to go. I’m looking forward to cooler weather, but then I also feel like it’s going so fast and I’m not ready yet!!
  • @dumbledoredies I felt a similar cramping today in the same spot when I went for a walk today! It happened a couple times and then went away, so hopefully it doesn't get worse...

@lurvleybunchococonuts good idea, I will try more pillows! DH already jokes about the "barrier" we have with the Snoogle. I have one pillow under the Snoogle right now so that I have space for my arms, to try to keep them from going numb. I had no idea sleeping would become difficult for all these different reasons, lol.
