@warmwinter oh man sleeping while pregnant, esp 3rd trimester, should be an olympic sport! It's ridiculous.
You get to the point where you start contemplating sacrificing small animals to sleep deities that you won't get insomnia for the night, and try to get settled into your mountain of pillows. You don't wanna lie on your back, preferably on your left side, but then your left hip and arm go numb so you want to switch sides occassionally, and heartburn/reflux makes laying down difficult, so try proping yourself up, but laying on your side proped up isn't exactly easy. So when you CAN lay on your side do it! But then your belly gets huge and pulls you further to the side, but remember don't sleep ON your belly, so you FINALLY get situated and comfortable enough to fall asleep and you need to get up to pee, which gets harder and harder to do, I found lifting my legs up and rocking forward to propel myself up works best, then waddle to the bathroom, pee, waddle back to bed and start all over again 🤦🏻 oh and while all this is going on YH is blissfully asleep snoring next to you. But don't smother him, you'll want him alive for when the baby arrives. Pregnancy is GLORIOUS I tell you 🤣🤣🤣

Oh the hormones!!! I decided to make spaghetti yesterday for lunch. I bought a bottle of spaghetti seasoning and looked for it for about an hour as my sauce simmered. I couldn’t find it anywhere and blew up DH’s phone trying to get him to answer to tell me where he put it. I had a literal melt down in the pantry. I never found it either! I had to make my own blend and I was missing my oregano too! DH has a spice addiction and doesn’t put things back where they belong. He has 3 large shelves full! My lunch was ruined and I wanted to scream and cry... ok I did scream and cry like a psycho person.
RE:Sleep and Heartburn Baby only weighs about a pound yet it takes so much strength to roll over and switch sides or get out of bed. WTH! I’m pretty sure the other day I ate 4 hours before going to bed and still got the worst HB. I woke up wanting to throw up it was so bad. I think I got HB from drinking water 😒
My newest scariest symptom is contractions in the evenings. BH I guess. They started on Saturday and I had 15-20 that were lasting over a minute in a two hour period. I ended up getting checked out at L&D to make sure I wasn’t going into preterm labor. Everything checked out fine and I have had them every night since, though not quite as many. I hate them and I can’t help but be paranoid that I’m going to end up in preterm labor, though they told me it can be normal with subsequent pregnancies to get them earlier and for them to be more intense. Anyone else ever experience contractions this early?
I know BH is a symptom around 24. I get them daily maybe 1-3 times a day depending on my activities.
The heat definitely isn't helping anything. I felt super "pregnant" yesterday and just tired and run down. I feel like I could sleep all day. It is not helping that I do not get a super restful nights sleep since I just toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable.
I have been starving lately, and if I don’t get to eat fast enough then I have SUCH an attitude! The hanger is real, lol. Also, everyone is getting on my nerves at work. I think knowing that I only have 3 weeks left is actually making it harder to deal with the normal everyday annoyances lol. I also feel like over the last week or so my bump has gotten way bigger, maybe that’s why I’ve been sooooo hungry!
Oh, yesterday and today I’ve had the most irritating pins and needles sensation all up and down my right arm...she must be pressing on a nerve or something! It’s so annoying.
Right there with you ladies having the worst heartburn/acid reflux! I swear it started so much earlier for me this time compared to with DD! I had heartburn and indigestion bad from the first trimester, then I felt like I got a break from it between weeks 15 and 20 and now it is back with a VENGEANCE! I have to take at least one Pepcid a day - sometimes two! But it does help and is on my OBs approved medication list, thank God!!
Am I the only one who is CONSTANTLY hot and sweating?!? I seriously feel sweaty even at like 75 degrees just sitting in the house working on my laptop. It’s gross and annoying. 😰
Add me to the heartburn club. This morning it started before I even ate anything. I guess my coffee was the culprit.
@krystrist2014 I’m so hot too. Yesterday I walked out back to watch my son play with the hose and immediately was like “nope. Going back in to sit directly in the AC.” My husband has been wearing sweatshirts inside because of how cold I’m keeping the house.
I had a slight break in the heartburn for a few weeks but it came back worse 😩 I had it with DS up until and during delivery so I think it’s here to stay. That whole old wives tale about heartburn meaning your baby will have a ton of hair? Not true 😂 My kid is just getting hair now at almost two!
+1 on the I'm hot all the time train! It doesn't help that right not we're having a crazy heat wave (well crazy for central PA) and my house doesn't have central air...😫
@windywoman yep!! I’ve had really bad heartburn with all 3 pregnancies and I’m sure this kid will come out just as hairless as her brother and sister!!
I tried to sleep elevated with pillows, while sleeping on my side, and it was such a challenge. I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible neck pain. New strategy is to try to eat an earlier dinner...
Re: the heat, yeah it's a struggle here too! We've had 90+ days (hot for here) with high humidity and I've spent the past week inside until my evening walk.
I'm still waiting for that whole 'pregnant women are always hot' thing! I'm always cold... and pregnancy has not changed that! I think it's 75 degrees at home right now and I want a cardigan!
I’m fine during the day. But I wake up with night sweats! Especially the groin area 😩. What are y’all using for pajamas? I’m ready to splurge on some new ones to keep me cool and comfortable.
@mia80 I was ALWAYS a cold person before my first pregnancy, got the hot all the time pregnant woman thing, and then NEVER went back to being cold all the time. Crazy.
I have been crazy hungry lately! I feel like I’m never hungry at dinner time, and I’ll have something small. But oh man from 8 pm on I get the munchies!! I’m trying not to eat too close to when I go to bed, but I feel like I’m only hungry at night!
@1sttimemomma98 YES what is up with the late hunger?! I literally only feel hungry from 8pm on. I've been trying to eat a smaller lunch and dinner so I can eat something at night and not feel guilty. And if I dont eat later then I end up having a hard time falling asleep because I'm starving. It's like I need an entire 4th meal at 9pm!
@dumbledoredies omg yes!!! I was trying to fall asleep last night and I was miserable. I snuck back downstairs for some late night watermelon to tide me over😂
@potofgolden I got a few shorts/t-shirt sets from ASOS and they are sooooooooo comfy and not expensive, at all. Def not a splurge, but helps when even the A/C isn't strong enough!
It's been so hot here, and we don't have AC, so add me to team sleeping in just underwear. I know Kindred Bravely has nice looking nursing/maternity PJ sets, but I haven't bought any.

Heartburn can be awful. It was bad enough to wake me up during the night once but since then I've been drinking a very small amount of chocolate milk right before bed and that seems to help. Now if I can stop waking up during the night due to dreams and worries that would be great. I've never really minded the heat and summer time, but at 25 weeks I'm so ready for fall. I don't seem to be tolerating the heat nearly as well as I normally do and with a heat index of 105+ every day for the last week and a job working outside it has been rough. the last few weeks I typically feel baby moving around pretty actively at night when I go to bed but here lately she seems to have been more quiet I don't feel her nearly as much
Before getting married, I dressed for polar expeditions when sleeping(granted I slept in my parents upstairs which could be cold in the winter) but would sleep with wool socks and sometimes a sweatshirt. On really cold nights (I don't think the temp would ever drop below 65 so actually not *that* cold) i would wear my wool long johns 😂and if course i had two layers of down comforter as blankets. Now, im a night shirt and undies girl because my husband is a literal heater and if I have anything more I'll wake up sweating.
