@kalesix3 Ugh that’s awful. You’re not an awful person it just seems all the stressful things happen on the same days. Sending positive thoughts your way.
Oh my @kalesix3! So sorry for all that stress. How did they discover that? Was it something you observed and brought to your doctor’s attention or did your doctor see something?
Thank you ladies, virtual hugs to you all, I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates having to add insult to injury with bad news.
@baseballismyfavoriteseason I mentioned before that my baby was having convulsions, Which can be totally normal as far as muscle development and everything, but baby had a really intense episode this morning followed by decreased movement so they just want to check and make sure it's just normal muscle development and nothing more serious.
@peanutorcookie I attended a virtual baby shower a couple of months ago. It ended up being a lot better than I expected. I'm going to be terrible at describing it, but I'll try. The people organizing the shower asked for everyone to send in their predictions for baby (i.e. date of birth, weight, sex, names) and to answer multiple questions prior to the shower. They shared some of the name predictions during the shower along with their favorite answers to other questions. Everyone sent in baby pictures of themselves beforehand, and the parents guessed who they were. The parents also played a game where they made predictions about whether the baby would be more like mom or dad and what kind of parents each one of them was going to be. It was one of those games where they hold up one sign if they thought the question or statement applied more for mom and another sign if it applied more for dad. Before the shower ended, people gave advice to the parents. The parents also showed the nursery to everyone. They didn't open the presents during the virtual shower, but they did show all of the presents which were in the nursery. They sent out very thoughtful thank you notes after the shower.
@ccstlln1 and @AB518 thanks for the virtual shower ideas! It's going to be my only option for a shower so I'm loving it.
Related question: what parts of a virtual shower have people experienced that you don't recommend doing? I'm really worried that it's going to be boring for people.
@amapa20 The virtual shower that I attended was very structured which I found to be a good thing because there weren't any awkward moments or boring parts of the shower. The only less structured part of the shower was the very end when people were giving advice and asking questions. An in-person shower probably would have been longer and less structured. I also have to admit that I enjoyed attending a shower wearing pajama pants without anyone knowing.
@amapa20 I attended a virtual sprinkle. It was awkward because it was people from different parts of the mom's life, so no one really knew each other, just everyone knew her. I feel like it wouldn't have been as awkward if it had been in person, but it's harder to mingle virtually.
Maybe having it very structured as @AB518 mentioned would help if you're bringing together folks who don't know each other.
We’re about to move our 2 year old upstairs out of the nursery/crib to big girl bedroom. She isn’t potty trained yet- that was a disaster so we decided to go for the move now before baby arrives. She’ll be next door to our 5 year old and I can picture them sneaking into each other’s rooms already. 2 more weeks of being able to lay in bed until I feel ready to get her out of the crib...such a sad time! Ha! Hello hearing footsteps above our heads in the middle of the night!

Thinking about you both @kalesix3

Everything is probably fine, the extra monitoring doesn't hurt though.
