We just got back about an hour ago from hubby’s birthday “hiking” trip with our pup! It was humid, but the trails are in the shade at the state park so it wasn’t bad at all. Had lots of water with us. Baby’s first hike! 😉 The people on the trails probably thought I was crazy hiking in the heat being pregnant 😂 It was a 3.5 hour drive one way, so we spent 7 hours in the car round trip and oh man, does my back ACHE on my right side and I need to break out my heat pad.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I’m excited for the set to arrive.   I never had any swaddles with my DD.  No idea why 🤷🏻‍♀️ although most likely because she came so early and things just were crazy from the beginning.

  • @carrotsandpeas3 @anitamargarita_82 I NEED THAT SWADDLE SET NOW!!! So cute!!
  • @anitamargarita_82, that swaddle is too cute! I might have to get it

  • @babyodo So sweet! Thanks for sharing—I’ve seen PLENTY of ads for them, but haven’t known anyone who could actually give a review!

@babycakesday which grocery store do you use? I've been using whole foods or Amazon fresh. I had tried instacart but got ridiculously overcharged and a manager never responded so my bill never got fixed.  Had difficulty getting time slots with 2 other local supermarkets but maybe now I could?
@morethanamama right! Makes me feel better to know it's not a pregnancy overreaction. My hubs was like there should be an icon of don't mess with pregnant lady under the complaint choices hehe. Totally the same I def feel like I'm as big as I was at 40 weeks with DS already and frustrated with difficulty doing things already ugg..
@kalesix3 seriously like why put a pineapple ontop of berries? Why crush the bread?? I really miss wandering the grocery store and fixing my grocery bags in the car if needed sigh.
@PeanutButterCookie really??? They haven't done that yet on any order I've received.
@animalandplantrescuer sounds like you used to pack a really goodbag! How you described is exactly how a bag should be packed!

  • @jgrodo seriously! I'm about to start looking for another supermarket too, this is ridiculous. Last week all of my freezer stuff wasn't given to me, plus my juice was expired, so my partner goes into the store to find more and every juice in the cooler was expired. I was so angry, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to run a decent grocery store 🙄
  • I spent the weekend cleaning out my kids' dressers and making piles to donate and it feels so strange to be pregnant but not need anything for this baby. I have gotten rid of almost all of our baby stuff and a tiny part of my brain is like- hey aren't we going to need that? I'm hoping to get my youngest started with potty training soon and then I won't even need to go through the baby section at Target anymore. So so weird.

@kalesix3 seriously?!? That stinks. Exactly!  So frustrating!!!
  • @jgrodo We have HEB where I live. It’s our main grocery store with target and Walmart and Whole Foods as competitors. They are so amazing and it’s sad that if we ever move out of the state we’ll have to say goodbye to such an amazing store.
  • @babycakesday did I know that you're in Texas, too? I'm in Austin, where are you?
  • My H was born in San Antonio and lived in Austin for 10+ years. We used to go to TX 3X year pre-Covid :( and we ADORE HEB and Central Market :)

My ILs moved to San Antonio about 10 years ago so I've been down there a fair amount and LOVE HEB! MIL keeps talking about retiring and moving back to Indiana to be around the grandkids more, and I think HEB might be the part she misses most about Texas if that ever happens. 😂

I've had a super productive project day. Finished DDs big girl room minus a few accessories like a lamp and wall hanging that I ordered. Taking apart the crib and rebuilding in the next room took me way longer than it should have today, but it's done, so she's offically sleeping there tonight! I'm so excited to show it to her. I've kept it hidden and only worked on it at naps, etc so she hasn't seen it at all yet.

I also got my bathroom vanity cleaned, sanded, and 2 coats of primer on! Going to make MH help me finalize color choice tonight and paint tomorrow. I've been talking about doing this for years because our house has a ton of that honey oak 90s cabinetry, so I'm really hoping it turns out okay.

Meanwhile the rest of the house is a mess and I haven't planned anything for dinner, but I'm still feeling so productive anyway!
  • @peanutorcookie I think I’ve mentioned it but I’m also super paranoid about the internet. My in laws are in Austin and we love with in two hours of there. I grew up in northern CA so H‑E‑B is a novelty to me. MH thinks it’s hilarious how much I love them.
  • We lived in Austin for 6 months back in 2016 and COMPLETELY fell in love with HEB. That was the saddest part about leaving. Friends can come visit us but nothing compares to HEB. 😂🥰
  • My dad actually works for HEB doing data analysis and such. He's been there for about two years and I haven't had a chance to visit. But he loves them! They are very good to their employees. And he loves that they set up the different store based on the neighborhoods rather than a one size fits all cookie cutter like Walmart. I am kind of jealous of you Texas folks (aside from the massive pandemic outbreaks and ridiculously hot weather).
  • @wineren I kinda hate that they don’t stock everything at every store sometimes! The craft beers and ciders we love, we have to travel a little farther for them. I guess everyone at our H‑E‑B just wants light beers and shiner. But yeah I will say I was happy where I was living because our numbers were so low for so long, but that’s out the window.

@peanutorcookie depending on where you deliver my BFF could be your l&d nurse!

Wow heb sounds like such a great store! Bummed that we don't have one here. Giant and Harris teeter are the main choices. Love Wegmans but it's a pain from where we are.
  • @babycakesday Have you ever tried requesting they stock a particular product? They did it for us once!
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason We did at our store. I really love this Austin East Cider but our store didn’t carry it. They started carrying it later but so haven’t tried at our new one. We also moved around the time they started doing curbside pick up so I don’t go in as often anymore.
  • @babycakesday OMG I looooooove Austin East Cider!!! I’ve seriously been trying to get it up here in Seattle since we moved back. I can’t even get a case shipped to my house! 😭😭
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason My SIL and her husband live like three blocks from the brewery. We would go there for double date night whenever we’re in town. It’s sooo good. That’s so sad they can’t ship it to you!
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason My boyfriend was just going through that with the Rogue limited release beer he wanted to try. He finally found them at Costco.
  • @mamahosch both are super cute!  Love them.  You’ll look great for both events!
  • @mamahosch so pretty! Pinkblush has really cute stuff, I got my shower dress from them fory DS :) it actually fits me while not pregnant too and doesn't look maternity at all!
  • KurtniKurtni member
@mamahosch so cute! I’ve been thinking about ordering from there. My last BMB was crazy about pink blush.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @mamahosch you look so cute! I love their stuff.

My sister’s rescheduled baby shower is this Sunday and I’m praying my mom cancels it. We are seeing cases really rise here and I do not want to be stuck in a room with a bunch of people, but I’d also crush them if they didn’t cancel and I didn’t come.
  • @coldbrew My friend is having a baby shower in a couple weeks... she’s having triplets, so it’s a high risk pregnancy, and I just want to shake her mom and sister and say “what are you thinking exposing her to all these people?!” And her SIL is coming from out of state... They’re doing an open house style, so I feel better for myself being able to pop in and pop out.
  • Thanks everyone!! 😍
@coldbrew we are planning my shower to be a drive through shower, and it’s not even until the last weekend of August. I’m surprised anyone these days is doing a regular shower!
  • @mamahosch those are absolutely adorable! I love PB so much, their dresses are the best!
Your shower idea is super cool, I keep seeing the cutest drive by showers happening everywhere!
  • My mom and sister are planning a virtual shower for me since we’re in different states. If anyone needs ideas on how to plan one I can share what they’re planning, they’re going all out! I know my MIL wants to do an in-person shower here, but I’ve told MH I’m only doing a drive through one. I’d tell my MIL directly but she thinks I shouldn’t be involved in planning at all since it’s for me.

The dress I’m planning to wear for the virtual one is Pink Blush too!
  • @kalesix3 I was looking on Instagram last night at different ones people have done and some are so adorable! My cousin had one in Arkansas a couple weeks ago and I love how she did it! I sent my best friend pics of hers for inspiration:)
  • I don't think I will have a shower of any kind this time but if I do it might be labor day weekend or bust. My OB told me to be super cautious during the last month as to not jeopardize the l&d experience. I honestly had a great one for my son and I feel like I can always have a mini party for baby girl with a couple of neighbor friends and my IL.

My neighbor had her baby this morning! So crazy, her girl is 3 months older than my DS and her boy will be 3 months older than my girl. Literally switching. They named him Finn which is such a great name. Can't wait to see him from a distance!

Second kid problem, I was so sure to be 25 weeks today but I am 26 weeks...I have been taking polaroid pictures of my bump and with this kid I only have 4...by now I had 10 with my son, lol. With being home all the time I feel like I never look good enough for pictures, so I need to change that! Also I am not really weighing myself regularly but out of curiosity I did today and I continue to be the EXACT same weight at this stage with my son. I feel much larger, but I guess it's all about where things are distributed this time around.
  • @morethanamama I had to go and check and make sure I was 24 weeks because you made me doubt myself 😆. I took weekly photos with DD and I have zero photos with this baby. I agree being home all the time makes a difference. I have a dress and two shirts and shorts for when I go out but other than that I live in my husbands basketball shorts and big T-shirts. Definitely am not taking pictures in that.

My sister is due any day now and she’s at that stage where she’s so uncomfortable she just wants the baby out. It’s really odd to think I’ll be there in a few months because I’m totally fine with being pregnant for weeks.
  • @ccstlln1 my mom and MIL are planning a virtual shower for me, too. I think they're both lost, so I'd love some ideas to pass to them!
  • I just need to vent for a second here 😩
I had to schedule another ultrasound for Thursday to monitor baby for seizures out of the blue, which sucked. I didn't want to bother my partner because he went back to his office today and I didn't want to worry him. So I figured I'd just tell him when he got home, and turns out he had a horrible stressful day and now he's stressed about the baby and I feel like the worst person for piling all this on top of what he was already going through. 😭 What a crummy day.
  • @kalesix3 I’m so sorry you’re going through that. I always hate telling MH bad news when he’s had a bad day, but he’s always told me it stresses him out more when I don’t tell him bad news that he can tell I’m stressed out about. Hopefully once he’s had a few hours to de stress and deal with the new information he’ll be glad you told him.

@peanutorcookie They’re putting together favor and activity boxes they’re sending to everyone attending. They’re putting in a few favors, a blank bingo card, and a onesie they can decorate. My sister’s also planned a few games that you can easily do virtually, there’s a couple different trivia games about me and MH as babies, about my pregnancy, and general pregnancy/baby trivia. The bingo cards are for while I’m opening presents, everyone fills out the spaces with presents they think we’ll get and then play bingo while I’m opening the presents based on what we actually get.
