In Texas nature news, I watched a wasp drag a sizeable dead spider through my backyard Taking it home for dinner, I suppose. 🤮
I've been having trouble with anxiety and insomnia often incited by people being terrible on Facebook, so I deactivated today. I was putting it off because that's how I keep up with my prior BMB, but I needed a break from FB at large, even though I had already unfollowed so many awful people. I plan to go back eventually because it is a way I keep in contact with a lot of people, just needed a more complete break for a bit.
it doesn't even look like angel food cake!
@carrotsandpeas3 you gotta prioritize yourself and your health at all costs, it's not worth it if it's just causing anxiety and stress!

My first day back at work went well! It was weird seeing that many people in a day, but it gave me at least a modicum of normalcy. I work in a hospital, so outside of the cafeteria, they are pretty strict on masking and my co-workers seem to be taking it seriously. Guess this is our new normal for the foreseeable future!
@kboydbowman sorry about the crummy day. We just got some financial relief after paying for our yard work and got a $790 bill from homeowners insurance because we totally forgot to renew after refinancing 🤦🏻♀️ the good news is that is seems like I've already met my deductible so my bill for the anatomy scan is $63!!
@profmcgonagall yes it definitely wasn't scrimping on taste, as I thoroughly enjoyed it, but the cake wasn't a fluffy mountain, it was more dense like pound cake but oh well. I definitely agree on the pies though, so yummy 🤤
It's really hard to not be going back to work myself, I just had another interview that went pretty well, but once they know I'm pregnant they all say no thank you, it's happened so many times I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get another job
I'm sorry, it sucks. As women we go through so many hoops, it's crazy! we are done after this baby and I am so happy I can concentrate on doing what I want moving forward instead of planning career steps based on possible maternity leave. I am sorry you're going through it, I would think there would be some pregnant mamas now looking for a nanny for next year, so maybe not all is lost
I think I mentioned to you guys a while ago that I had a medical concern I needed to get taken a look at, well, I was stressing out so I finally did...basically it was an almond-size bump on my armpit, like right were you shave. Literally popped out of nowhere 5 weeks ago. Being a hypochondriac, I got nervous about it despite H dismissing it as a pimple (definitely NOT a pimple). My GP, who I honestly think is not very knowledgeable, gave me a tele-heath appointment (not so useful when looking at a lump). She basically was like oh it's probably nothing, what are your thoughts?? I am like well, my thoughts are I AM NOT A DOCTOR! So she sent me for an ultrasound just to make sure and I went today. Really happy I went to a breast center that is very well-known here so I felt like I was going to get some answers. The tech said well, you're pregnant so it's probably EXCESSIVE BREAST TISSUE. Like...WHAT? Well sure enough, she takes literally 3 minutes to take the ultrasound, tells me to wait for the doctor. Doctor comes, re-runs the ultrasound and BOOM. Excessive breast tissue. Had no idea is was even a thing. He said oh given you're pregnant, that's usually the first thing we consider. PHEW GUYS! I am so relieved. Am I crazy to think that my GP could have known this? At least she could have listed as a possibility? Here I was going to dark places...well...apparently it's just part of my boob growing in my armpit lol. Pregnancy is weird. I am really bummed I didn't mention it to my OB last time but it had only been a couple of weeks and Iw as still observing it...I am sure she would have at least mentioned it as a strong possibility.
On another note, looks like I met my deductible! The anatomy scan was only $65. Last pregnancy I had to go to a high risk place due to marginal cord insertion and since we had not met the deductible, the bill was almost $500!!!!
sorry about the Target tantrum. We are definitely in tantrum land with my almost 2-year old over here...
@anitamargarita_82
Maybe I'm going about it all wrong, to make it worse a lot of parents absolutely won't even entertain the idea of bringing a baby to their house to nanny, I suppose I understand how they feel their child will take second priority, but it just sucks to not be given a chance. It will get easier to schedule and plan for postpartum, obviously but I don't want to do nothing during my pregnancy either, coronavirus budget cuts hit us and we're not doing great on one reduced income 😩
@morethanamama that would have scared me so badly, I'm glad you have an answer now!
