@morethanamama I had huge issues this past week and I finally got a new phone and was able to login. Not sure if it was my phone or the bump hating me.
@babyodo my baby was my In laws first grand baby and they were the same. We were team green and bought so many useless things without asking us and we ended up giving away a lot of them. Once we had DD, I’m super girly and love pink and purple and flowers everything. And they would constantly buy her “neutral” things and then redress her whenever we visited. DD finally put her foot down when she was like 2 and now they just don’t buy things for her as much. It bugged me to no end but I was able to donate a lot of really nice things to the women’s shelter. This time around they are pretty much like whatever about my pregnancy and it’s kind of nice. I wish I had some advice on how I made them stop but really I just let it run it’s course. At least know it happens all the time.
@morethanamama Thank you for the tw. I had to take a break because I stumbled into a board and someone did not TW and it left me an anxious mess. I try to avoid certain board to help ease my anxiety but I know it’s bound to happen on any board.
Our state is starting to open up, but cases are on the rise again. I don’t have a job so we’re just staying at home and staying away from other people for now. Anything to stay healthy if It’s in my power to do so.
@mckjacks I'm late to reply to this, I apologise! But I wanted to tell you that my mom had twins and she didn't really show at all, there's a picture of her at 8 months and she has no bump, she even went overdue with them, there's definitely an expectation that you'll be huge with twins but not everyone is, and I'm sorry you're having to deal with that. I think with bump sizes the grass is pretty green on both sides of the fence, I get "you definitely have gestational diabetes with how huge you are" comments and it really stings. People just need to stop making comments about size, it's so triggering and harmful and I don't know why in 2020 we still have to hear garbage about how big or small we are. Ugh. Your pictures are going to be beautiful!
@psmk521 no the bump can't count or do math correctly lol! It's insulting that they think you can't get a positive test result before two weeks post ovulation either.
On a side topic, if you guys can feel your uterus, where is the top of it? I read that fundal height is supposed to be at your belly button at 20 weeks.. I'm almost 17 and it's almost to my belly button and I'm absolutely freaking out 😩
@kalesix3 You are correct that the top of the uterus is usually at the belly button at 20 weeks. I can feel the top of my uterus about 2 cm below my belly button when lying down. When I'm sitting, it feels like it is at my belly button, but it is supposed to be measured when lying down. I'm 17 weeks today. It sounds like your uterus is around the size that it should be. My OB doesn't start measuring it until after 20 weeks.
@AB518 thank you, that's really reassuring, I think for 17/18 weeks the measurement I saw on an OB chart was two fingers width below your belly button, and I don't think I'm quite that far below when I felt it this morning lying down. Maybe its a growth spurt or something, I hope I'm not having abnormal growth though, I'll ask about it next time I'm in for an appointment 😩
Already starting the warm weather off rough! My daughter had some kind of reaction to sunscreen yesterday. So I got her some different lotion this morning. We didn’t have these problems last year.
I’m doing a happy dance over here because I feel like we’re making progress preparing the toddler to be a big brother!! The last week I’ve been taking his hand to pat or rub my belly and saying “hi baby brother!” This morning I asked him, “do you want to say hi to baby brother?” And he smiled and pointed to my belly! He is incredibly spoiled by my side of the family because he’s the first grandchild, so I’ve been a little anxious about his adjustment. I know this doesn’t mean it will be a breeze but I’m happy with the baby steps!
I find it interesting that all of my anxiety dreams as of late have been being stranded.
The first was that my whole extended family and I flew to London the day after I gave birth to twin boys (only having one). I carried them in bags like you store those folding camping chairs. Then my family left me alone to go to a Harry Potter museum. I was supposed to figure out how to get to my cousin’s house, where I have never been.
The next was I was alone in LA without my wallet. My phone then froze. I was trying to hop on trains without getting caught.
Last night I was dropped off in Sacramento, and boarded a public transit train. I felt for my phone and purse, and had neither. Again I was trying to avoid the ticket collectors.
Let’s see if these dreams continue the whole pregnancy. 😂
@anitamargarita_82 ugh sorry she reacted, that's such a pain. Weird for her to have developed a sensitivity from one summer to the next, but who knows with kids! @baseballismyfavoriteseason how old is you toddler? My DD doesn't seem to be getting it yet but she's only 21 months. I keep telling her there's a baby in my belly and she doesn't seem to comprehend at all. I'm hoping once I'm bigger she might. @animalandplantrescuer I've had weird dreams but no theme! That sounds stressful!
I feel like I'm nesting in really weird ways. Since we already have a nursery set up from DD, I've been doing other home improvement stuff. Just hired a contractor to re-side our house (yikes $$$) and am thinking about painting the vanity cabinets in each of our bathrooms.
@kalesix3 is your uterus titled at all? That can throw off fundal height. If you have really muscular abs that can make it harder to find the top... I don’t have that problem 😂
My toddler (2+4 mo) insists this baby is a girl (we won't find out until AS), says she must be named George (she watches too much Peppa Pig while I work these days), and will have blue eyes like her, not green like me or DH. She will definitely be disappointed by the name, we'll see regarding sex and eye color!
I've had guilt dreams, if that's a thing, and like scary murder/kidnapping dreams. They're always in the last hours before I wake up so my morning sleep is all broken up. I'm over them!
@MJDsquared Those sound awful. I’ll take my being stranded over that any night. I’ve only had one guilt dream early on where in it I drank even though I knew I was pregnant.
@Kurtni I used to have some degree of retroflexed uterus but my pregnancy realigned it oddly enough, I have a twisted spine so one hip is higher and I know that has made both babies sit more to one side than the other, I didn't know that could also affect fundal height, thank you for the tip! Pretty sure my ab muscles resemble shot elastic at this point haha
So we got our golden retriever back yesterday, 7 whole weeks early. She only had two puppies which isn’t usual. They had a hard time latching onto her nipples. Her breeder had made the hard decision to put her pups with another female who had 5 pups the day before and lost one. She took them instantly and they latched right away. She had been trying to slowly wean Mia away from them and had us come pick her up. It was a hard afternoon for her back at our house - she was confused and nesting with her favorite stuffed toys and sleeping a lot. But this morning she seems to be doing much better after sleeping on our bed all night. 💕 We are going to get her back into as much of her normal routine as possible today by lots of walks and maybe a car ride!
We did get paid as per our contract and with the nice check we are buying the nursery dresser and Halo Bassinest!! 😊
I guess today is the first day I'm able to log in with my phone, but I'm using the browser not the app!
Happy mother's day to all of you! I can't complain as I was spoiled with donuts, flowers, and a framed "drawing" from my toddler lol. H also got me a recipe book that I wanted!
Sorry about the crazy dreams everyone. I also am having some and they are all over the place! @carrotsandpeas3 my toddler is 22 months and I think he would understand if only he would pay attention when I tell him there's a baby in my belly😂 these days he is just tooooo busy with learning stuff and playing, his attention span is a bit low!
@morethanamama that could totally be it! She doesn't even seem to hear me when I tell her because she's so distracted by anything and everything right now. That's why I was thinking that once I have a bigger belly, maybe I can actually catch her attention for more than 5 seconds.
@carrotsandpeas3 and @morethanamama I’ve been showing my 3 year the baby that changes week by week here on the app and talking to her about the baby in my tummy. So she touches the screen and moves the baby around and looks at it. Might be something to try with your littles if you haven’t already. My DD really loves looking at the baby on the phone.
I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day yesterday! MH ordered us afternoon tea to go and it was awesome! If you’ve never had an English scone with clotted cream and jam, you are missing out!
Afternoon tea is one of the things I will miss the most when we leave England

Not gonna lie, @ProfessorMcGonagall one of the reasons I'm happy to be having a girl is that we can have tea parties, lol.
Add me to the crazy dreams camp. Mine are mostly sex dreams, though, haha! Both of my sisters told me they had them when they were pregnant, so I know it's normal, but whoa.
@carrotsandpeas3 I, too, am nesting in weird ways, as well. Our nursery is about 35% set up, so I really should be focusing on that, but I've been focusing more on purging & storing/donating/discarding the old stuff we took out of there, and other stuff around the house, too. For instance, we had the house power washed yesterday, and it looks sooooooooo good! Though, while they were doing it, my black lab/mastiff got spooked and wanted to protect me, so he hopped up on the couch where I was laying and was pinned there for over an hour while he growled at the window. I think he has caught on to the fact that I'm pregnant.
@profmcgonagall yummy looking tea! We had smoked ribs, macaroni salad, corn on the cob and strawberry shortcake yesterday for Mother’s Day. It was a relaxing day. I sat around outside under an umbrella watching my 3 year old play in her pool and run around the back yard most of the day.
@babyodo I had the crazy dreams early on but they seem to have calmed down for now. I’d wake up feeling like I’d been up all night doing all kinds of crazy stuff.
Sigh... I’m starting to feel like a turtle on my back already in bed. Few more weeks and I’ll probably have my husband move our extra recliner into our bedroom so I can sleep in that. It’s starting to become a challenge to move around at night and sleep comfortably in bed.
@anitamargarita_82 I’m having the same sleeping issue! I toss and turn so much and somehow end up on my back which I never used to sleep on my back ever... and I know it’s not good at a certain point in your pregnancy!
Same with the sleeping issues. I feel like my hips is super loose and anything can make them super achy. I went for a nice 1.5 mile walk super slow pace since we let our toddler run around and woke up with super swollen knees the next morning.
I always dream weird vivid things, usually nightmares. But last night omg.. I was 26 weeks and I could see the baby's fingernails through my belly and then went to my appointment and was told I was measuring 10 weeks ahead and I lost it 😂 I kept waiting for the baby dreams to start because I loved them last pregnancy but jokes on me obviously!
I mostly feel like I need to stop over-indulging. Donuts yesterday were delicious but seriously no more sugar for me. I think I am going to have veggie soup for lunch, lol! I'm still sleeping like a baby but the lack of exercise is getting to me so I am going to prioritize it this week. Plus, the yard is DONE! Just need to stay off the grass for another week-ish or so. But I can easily use the patio. Weather is a perfect 70F and I just wish I could go for a walk right now! Alas, lots of work as always.
Hope everyone starts the week right! The Bump is still not loading on my phone and it takes forever on a browser too...UGH
I am dying to shop for summer clothes and keep filling up carts on my favorite sites, only to remember that I'm not going to fit in any "normal" clothes. I did buy a pair of regular shorts since I know I can wear them with a belly band, but I'm irrationally annoyed because for the most part, I'm not a fan of maternity styles!
@morethanamama I’m envious of your yard being done. We only have a front yard because we live in a duplex, and we just took out half of the lawn. It now has to be under plastic for 2 months to kill any remaining grass sprouts. We have about 1.5 months left. After that we have big plans that include a fence, deck, fire pit, and landscaping. It’s been such nice weather here, I can’t wait to enjoy it.
Any requests for product spotlight this week? I was thinking maybe nursery decor or hospital bags, but it might be a little early for that. I know someone asked for that to be moved sooner! Here is the link to our original schedule. https/docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VE5GPZNRjwY-KqRzMCNvQk8NRQZUsPzFKRhrIqdCGZc/edit?usp=sharing I've been jumping around a little. I figure as long as we cover the things people are interested in, that's okay!
@carrotsandpeas3 I am the one who suggested hospital bags earlier, because as a FTM I started packing a bag around 20 weeks, and had my baby around 37, so the September date it is currently scheduled for would have been too late for me. BUT I am not as desperate for it this time around.
Sounds like people have started doing their nurseries some, so it might not be too early for that?
I personally wouldn’t mind diaper bags, as I’m considering changing ours up for this babe...
@baseballismyfavoriteseason okay I will start diaper bags! I keep forgetting that people are doing registries and showers since this isn't my first, so now is totally reasonable to already be picking out this stuff.
@babyodo you could certainly put it on there. This is the one I have. It’s all washable. Which is great because my DD has projectile vomited all over several times as a baby and young toddler. Now she just sits in the booster seat at the table.
@babyodo definitely! We didn't get ours out of the box until kid was like 5 months old, but it was nice not to have to think about it later. We have a graco one which is...fine. takes up a lot of space but otherwise good. I've heard great things about the basic Ikea one.
@babyodo we didn't register for it because we planned on getting the Ikea one which was $30. At the time we lived in an apartment so we didn't want too much stuff we couldn't store.
I honestly absolutely loved it for the baby stage but my son started hating it around 18 months. We now have the stokke which is a RIDICULOUS amount of money (a gift from the IL). I actually am in the minority but I currently hate it😂😂 the straps are absolute crap and I personally would not recommend it for the baby stage because it would be so hard to get baby out if they were choking. But I love the idea that once I can take the baby seat out hopefully around 2.5 my son will use it as a regular chair forever basically, and it doubles as an adult chair too.
@animalsandplantrescuer it's been a long time coming. It's actually finally done. So so worth it. I hope your front yard turns out amazing!
@morethanamama I’ve been thinking about getting the stokke chair for my toddler, but the price is crazy! We have a small house and he’s currently using a Phil and Ted’s lobster chair that attaches directly to the table, but he will outgrow that soon and it would be nice to get him a chair that he could use in place of a regular chair. Hopefully by the time he outgrows his current chair he can just use the stokke chair without the infant seat and then the new baby can use his current chair when they start eating solid foods.
@westslopemama sounds like a good plan. Remember that's just my experience, lots of people love it at all stages. It's funny, I actually wanted it right away initially. My friend told me it was ridiculously expensive and that I was crazy. I ended up getting the Ikea anyways also because we were going to move soon-ish and the stokke could have been a good investment in the new house. Fast forward to when she needed a high chair and she got the Stokke 😂😂
This may be a FFFC a day early, but we had a lot of failure with getting DD to sit in any sort of chair to eat. She sat in a high chair until around a 10 months, then strapped in a booster seat on one of our regular chairs for a few months, but sometimes around 13-14 months, she decided being strapped in anything was the worst thing in the world. She would prefer to scream for an hour rather than eat, so we caved. We bought a little table and chair from Ikea. I figured, at least it was closer to the ground if she fell out, but she wouldn't stay in the chair, so she would mostly stand at the table, eat a few bites and run around. Then, probably around 16 months, she moved to standing in a regular kitchen chair for a few months (yep, you heard me right, we let her stand in an adult chair because she would at least stay in one place to eat). FINALLY about a month or two ago (around 19-20 months), she moved back to her booster and we just don't attempt strap her in anymore. All this to say, we did use our high chair for 6ish months, but I would be prepared to be flexible with your plans if your kid is anywhere nearly as opinionated as mine. We just want you to eat please kid!! 🤪
