this winter has just been so brutal for colds. I’m with you @kyrwyn, I’ll have a few days where I feel great and then I get hit with something else. Is a week of good second tri too much to ask? Trying not to complain but I’ve had two confirmed strains of influenza now and stomach flu and multiple other repository illnesses and I’m just tired of it. We did get a humidifier for our room to help though so one less thing on the baby list!
@pourmeanothermocktail also having so much trouble posting. I feel like I’ve gone into ghost mode because it’s a 50/50 it won’t load and from there it’s only a 50/50 it will actually let me post. Sorry ladies, I’m still here!

Moving sucks. Moving while 5 months pregnant with a toddler is true human torture.
Yes. All of the yes. We moved into our house with a 16 month old, luckily I wasn't pregnant, but we had HFM.
Then due to a flood and fixing things up we got to move out of a full half of our house (ok, 900 sq ft of 2000 total) where our living room is with a 2 year old and 8 months pregnant, and then back in a month later....it was horrendous.
I'm very sorry you're having to do this. I hope your spouse/partner is better than mine at unpacking reasonably and quickly. We set up our TV and DVD player (took maybe a week to get internet and therefore Netflix going) basically first, and just let it go basically all day long, so I could get something done.

@pourmeanothermocktail we are incredibly fortunate in that we have a ton of help- both sets of parents available to babysit and help clean and DH’s brothers to help move since I’m a useless turtle. My organizing skills are at least being put to good use! Thankfully we are moving into a new build so the issues were super minimal - we are hoping to be in by the end of the weekend and then slowly move the remainder throughout the week.
We’re pretty liberal with DD’s tv time on weekends so we’ve watched a LOT of Disney. There’s nothing worse than when she picks one of the movies from Disney’s meh period. I cannot watch hunchback of notre dam or Tarzan one more time 🤣
I hate people's comments. Traveled for work last week and had a random lady on the airplane tell me she was shocked I was still flying... Well I have 4 months to go but thank you for saying I'm huge. My vp calls baby girl 'the twins'. Also had people I don't even know touch my belly. I just want to stay home and hermit for a week but I have to go to the office a couple times this week.
Bright side is ds hfm is finally better (after a week and a half) so he can go back to daycare today! So excited for him to see his friends again and for the magical daycare ladies to get him back to napping like he was.
@runwmusic I’d be angry at those comments too. I don’t know why people think it’s ok to comment about a pregnant woman’s size. And thankfully I’ve had no one touch my belly without asking bc I think my knee jerk reaction wouldn’t be good lol.
Both DD and fiance are both sick as dogs, I have been having bad headaches. I need to completely clean my house but have no energy. But on another note !!!
I keep being told I look great for baby #2 and being 22weeks. With my DD I was significantly bigger by this time. When I had my U/S done Friday I was told he is in the 58th percentile so it gave me lots of peace of mind.
I'm so tired of snow/thaw, and so over being unable to leave house much. Are we done yet?

Got a message from my son's teacher that a bunch of her students were absent today with Illnesses ranging from the flu (a and b), strep and the stomach bug! Woo and then my son came home with a low fever. Goody I can't wait to see what fun illness we get to deal with! *Sarcasm*

Ugh, sending you thoughts of a short lived contained illness without too much clean up...

We finally had our anatomy scan! Everything was normal except baby refused to roll over properly to get photos of the heart so we go back in four weeks. HUGE sigh of relief for healthiness. Baby also had their legs crossed and toes touching their forehead lol. We gave the envelope to my bestie and she went shopping for a cute outfit for our gender reveal. She wrapped it and left it on my desk at work.Torture! Tomorrow, we're going out to dinner with both sets of grandparents to open it. SO EXCITED.
My DS was sick a few days ago with a cold/sore throat, so much illness going around his school. A bunch of kids and his teacher out with the flu. And today I woke up and my throat is so sore. Ugh I was really hoping I wouldn't catch it.
Today I'm 22 weeks and 3 days, the same day in my pregnancy that I went into preterm labor and had my first baby. At the end of the week when I hit 23 weeks will be my first big sign of relief knowing the highest level nicu in my state will fight to save a premature newborn at that point. Just a note though, it's just a pregnancy milestone for me to get to this point. I'm not currently at risk for preterm labor.

@pnkfaerie Thinking of you until this milestone is safely in your rearview mirror. FX for a healthy remainder of your pregnancy and a happy, healthy bub.
@pnkfaerie That must be a lot of feels for today. Happy that you're almost to such an important milestone! Crossing fingers for a full term baby for you!

Friends, whyyyyyy can't I remember that I will feel so much better if I wrap my belly when I'm doing desk work? I finally grabbed my wrap today and bellywrapped and the extra support is making all the difference. Maybe I should keep a wrap draped over my desk chair for work days?
I took a short business trip this week and on my flight back the seats were so cramped that I couldn’t open the tray table without having to tuck it under my belly and let my belly sit on top. 🤦🏽♀️

Definitely leave a wrap draped there. They're so pretty anyway!

This made me laugh so hard @FigTreeMama. Just in the last week my belly has become so much more pronounced that people are finally commenting on it 😂 I would be in your boat too!

I feel like my belly has gotten so big this week. I had my first stranger ask me when I am due. By the look on her face, I am pretty sure she expected me to say next week. But she didnt comment, and I appreciate that.
+1 to the group who has been MIA because this app/website is sooo painfully slow. I’ve attempted to get on a few times the last few weeks and just give up. Today seems to be better though so HELLO again everyone 👋
I finally bought my first items for this baby (some neutral onesies/jammies) and it’s starting to feel more and more real. I’ve also started pulling out old baby items to figure out what we’re going to need to buy/replace. I’m getting so excited for this baby to be here 🥰
And this weekend I will be finding out if I’ll be having my first niece or nephew! My DH’s little sis is due 7 weeks after me so we will have sweet cousins to grow up together. Can’t wait!
@FigTreeMama - I’m flying in two weeks and I am SURE this will be my situation too 🤣.
@kerco925 - I had this happen for the first time this week too! A cleaner in my office asked me when I was getting some water. I was a bit taken aback and I could tell she was relieved when I confirmed I was!
@lynkat This website is so glitchy! I’ve gone through DD’s baby clothes and I feel so bad for this baby as I really don’t need to get anything. DD was given so much!!! That being said I bought her a few cute Christmas things in a huge old navy sale when I was in the US.
@hayhay2501 that was our situation for DS2! We had a TON of stuff from DS1. We moved last summer and at the time had planned to be done with 2 kids so we got rid of a lot of things and just kept the bare minimum. I’m glad I kept the things I did! Mostly this baby will need clothes and then a few odds and ends. We’ve had some friends loan/give us items too which is super helpful!
It's repeat anatomy scan today and I'm excited to see bub again. DS1 asked me to bring him more pictures of baby brother from the doctor, so I'm hoping we can make good on that. I think I've mostly kicked this cold (finally) but for some reason the nausea is coming back (21 weeks). Not lovin' it.
@kyrwyn hope you got some awesome pictures for big brother ! I started to get nausea again but I think it is more of like an indigestion type of nausea. I tried tums chewy delights and it helps alot and taste amazing
We are back from our cruise finally! The 1st night the boat was rocking so much I ended up throwing up the next day from sea sickness. The funny thing is I never even was sick with morning sickness. We had a great time besides that and Hawaii was amazing. On the way back from Hawaii there was a medical emergency on board and we had to turn around and head back to Hawaii after 24 hours. We skipped our quick Mexico stop which I was fine with, but still got back 8 hours late and had to change our flight to the next day and miss another day of work. We also decided to open the envelope with the gender that we had since December 11th (they even called us November 28th with the results, but we told them not to tell us and put it in an envelope for the next appointment). Now we can always tell our baby that we found out their gender on the beach in Maui. We still haven’t told anyone but took a video so we can show everyone when we are ready. It was a really special moment!!
@hayhay2501 thanks! We live in Montreal so Hawaii is super far! We took a flight to SF and a cruise from there. It took 5 days each way by boat to get to Hawaii! I would recommend just flying there so you have more time to spend there!!
I don't like bitter frigid cold. Like double digit negatives, really not awesome.
Staying home today, thanks.

I didn't get my scan yesterday. The billing agreement at the specialist office was very aggressively worded and expansive, and I refused to sign their statement that I agreed to pay for all non-covered services in full otherwise they'd send us to collections. I told them instead that I declined all non-covered services. They said they don't know if something is covered or not until they bill out insurance and I told them BS, they have a contracted rate schedule with our insurance as a contracted provider and it's illegal to shift the burden to the patient and I would be happy to contact California's state complaint department and send them a copy of their billing agreement. Paraphrasing, of course.
Finally we settled at it was fine for me to decline the blanket statement about paying for non covered services without a prior cost out. But by then there wasn't enough time left for my appointment so I had to reschedule. I'm still super upset about it. But they also acted like no one had ever questioned their paperwork before, which is alarming because it's hostile and questionably legal. But balance billing is a really common (and commonly illegal) practice and people just don't know to question it. I had a huge ugly cry in the car on the way to pick up DS from daycare.
We have close friends who are a) an insurance broker in our state and b) a healthcare attorney, so I'm confident that I'm legally supported in my refusal. But I'm also pregnant, overwhelmed and upset that we had to delay care to my unborn child because of this.
@kyrwyn I’m so sorry! That sounds incredibly stressful. I hate that they may have taken advantage of a lot of people who just blankly sign. I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with insurance here
@kyrwyn I'm sorry you had to deal with BS billing stuff. I totally get it just Cheng overwhelming even when you know you're in the right.
