4 week old eating every 1.5-2 hrs?

I BF.  LO was eating every 3 hrs on the nose but since last night. he's been eating every 1.5-2 hrs.  i had a meeting today and my mom gave him a bottle (2+ oz) and he woke up 2 hrs after to eat again.   

is this frequency normal?

My dr. said to expect a growth spurt around 3-4 weeks which would explain an increase in eating frequency.

He could be going through a growth spurt where days of eating like this are normal. Usually they get back to a more normal pattern in a day or two.

We've had such issues all this time, I'm just afraid he's not getting enough.  However, since I was gone, I pumped when I got home and got 4 oz combined, so he must be able to get enough.

Seems normal to me.  At 4 weeks, my DS was eating every hour.  It was very tiring.
