How are things going?: I am so freaking excited to be done with BCP - the hormones were great for my mood, but the side effects were just blah. Today was my last pill, and I go in for my baseline on Thursday! FX they don't find anything egregious (which is my slightly irrational fear).

How are things going?: Things are going alright... I had a lining check Saturday, and just like last time my lining is so far behind (5.5). I came home and bawled (thank you hormones) because I'm just so frustrated that my body can't do anything right. In happier news, I had my second acupuncture appointment yesterday and it was really great - I left feeling so calm and didn't feel an ounce of anxiety. Later that night my husband even said to me "you seem so zen right now" lol

GTKY: What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to? Similar to @mvt2003 I'm a true crime junkie and want to know the answers to every podcast I've listened to. I've always said that when I die, I hope they hand us a brochure when we get to heaven letting us know the answers to all of the unsolved crimes we've followed.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): 50mg of Clomid, Trigger, IUI, PNV and started progesterone today.

How are things going?: Okay! I am in a better place than where I was mentally Friday before, during and after the IUI. Honestly... the Michael Phelps GIFs really put me in a good mood and all weekend we've been cheering him on inside my ute

Also, we had a really good BD session Friday night when I got home from old lady bingo, so that made me feel better about our "chances". Now we play the dreaded waiting game...

Also, I'm still bloated

ugh! And I am sure starting the progesterone today is only going to add to it.

Oh please, oh please let this cycle be the one!

@feather_heather ugh I feel your heartache with our bodies (lining) not doing what it's supposed to do. What did they say about it? What are the next steps? ETA - I love that the acupuncture is working for you! It's wonderful that you were so zen to the point that YH noticed!

@kpearse99 - They kept me on the same dose of estrogen and I have to go back in tomorrow for another lining check. At the rate it grew last time, I'll probably end up with a few more appointments like that. I'm so glad you were able to get back into a positive mindset!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): WFAF... so we can do our endometrial biopsy scratch done next cycle, and FET the following cycle.

How are things going?: Still dealing with more MIL passive-aggressive snark (is there a BF Monday thread? I've got a new one to add this week) which has been triggering even more anxiety about feeling left out of family stuff because *TW* I avoid spending time with our nephew in order to maintain the boundaries I've set to protect my hurting heart. *end TW*
Reality is also starting to set in after initially feeling relieved that the pressure is off to feel like we're always desperately in that 'TTC' mindset now that we've got a few frozen embies and are just waiting for the FET. Being in limbo is harder than I thought it would be because I just can't let go of the idea that time is slipping away and we're not "doing" anything. Damn you, biological clock! I know the frozen embryos aren't aging and two months isn't going to make or break anything but that's what is weighing on me this week.

Any questions?: What happens to the other egg during a FET that your body releases? I'm stressing that since we're doing a natural transfer (no trigger) that my stupid body won't cooperate and I'm not even going to ovulate when I "should" and everything will be all messed up. Need to ask my RE about this at the biopsy, to see if they'll trigger me instead.

GTKY: What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to? Besides why none of us can get pregnant? Hah. I'd like to know what my cat is thinking when she talks to herself in the hall playing with her toy. And why she has to bolt out of the litterbox and run around like a psycho after she poops.

@kiki047 Friend, so many hugs. So so so many. I've been in that holding pattern since September essentially, and it is crazy-making. These two months are going to be challenging, without a doubt, but I know you will make it through. You're a total bad@ss who is going to SHOW this endometrial biopsy scratch and FET just who they're dealing with!

Also, you know I'm 100% with you on the trigger stuff and can confirm it will absolutely be easier once the baby stage is over with YN. Hang on tight, you will make it through the hard parts! (*TW* As you know, MN is completely in the terrible twos and it's a million times easier for me for her to not be the sweet infant anymore. She's delightfully sassy and gives zero effs and I am HERE for that.)

Thank you @mvt2003. I know the time will go by quickly. I mean, it's already been almost 2 months since the ER itself and I think that time passed like a flash. Time is such a strange concept. To feel like we want time to slow down so we can enjoy and live in the moment, but also want to fast-forward to the future with hopes that it will be a better place, but then also want to go back in time to change things... LOL no wonder my brain is fried.
You're so right about age/development being a factor for the LOs though. MN is 14mos now and is just so, SO cute. It does get easier, and I know we need to now start making more of an effort to try to plan the kinds of interactions that are on our terms and not theirs so we still get in some quality time in a positive way instead of it being damaging to our relationship(s) and mental health.

@kiki047 Time is absolutely mind frying!!! As part of my overall attempt to keep my thoughts more optimistic than pessimistic, I've been trying to re-word some of the things I say to myself during the day. I'm including in that effort eliminating "wishing away time" because I want to try to live in the moment. (NB: I am absolutely allowing myself to think about how amazing tomorrow is going to be when I do not have a fresh BC pill in my body. I'm not a monster

)

I think you're on the right track to make the effort to plan interactions on your own terms, which will help avoid specific triggers. And keep in mind, kids are resilient - you have a lifetime of aunthood to be an influence, needing to be strategic in interactions now when he literally will not remember it is not the end of the world. Also, just saying, I've been a presence in the kids' lives almost every single week, and a couple of months ago MiL sent a video of them thanking us for the new bag of balls for their ball pit (which we also purchased) and MN thanked "Uncle J" and "Rosie." Yep, he thanked my dog.

I say that, but I know it is always something that has worried me too. Every month feels so precious right now. But you are doing everything right! How are things going?: Not too bad. It was a really busy weekend. Far too many things going on, and DH left this morning for a couple weeks. There was sewing of name tags and badges, and extra loads of laundry this weekend. This weekend I will be home alone, and I am kinda looking forward to it. Come on Friday!

@mvt2003 I love that. One of the things that weighs the heaviest on MH's mind is the idea that he 'wasted' so much time being too intimidated to talk to me and as a result it took him 8 years (and a really awful marriage to someone else) to tell me how he really felt. That idea that one lifetime isn't enough with the person you love really ought to be enough of a motivator to want time to slow down so you can savour every moment. Whew, that got real sappy, sorry lol.
@kpearse99 thank you! I feel better already. Hour by hour for sure. *TW* all that stuff about Kobe Bryant hit home in a way I never expected. Prime example of someone who really had it all - great marriage, beautiful children, considered the GOAT in his career, and yet he is but a mere mortal. I went to bed anxious about our mortality, and apparently woke up anxious about evvverything else too.
Which reminds me, @shoogapoff thinking about you this week my friend.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. There have been a few of us on this board who have been affected by mental illness and the devastating effects it can have on a person and their families. Sending you love and light to get through it.

I'm in the Northeast for business through early Wednesday so I won't be able to follow much this week. My first time in the region 🙂

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET in March, 2 rounds of BCP first though

How are things going?: well I've only had like 1 or 2 full days of being gluten and dairy free last week and that Sriracha dressing from my lunch today may have had milk but whatever. Things are fine otherwise! Except that the damn Starbucks at the airport did not have almond milk this morning! Boo, so I had to opt for oat milk which was still very good. And I was totally fine not having the whipped cream.

GTKY: What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to? Echoing @kiki047 with the why the fuck am I not pregnant right now lol. Otherwise, another great mystery is why the hell do I find DH so damn sexy when he has his sleeves pushed up to his elbows 😂 like I literally have no words to describe why it's such a turn on.

@kiki047 You are so right about how the news of Kobe hit. Everything you said is spot on. It's so scary and terrifying knowing that any moment, literally any moment, could be the last one. I always try to live in the moment but when something like this happens it makes you wonder if you're doing enough. If you're telling those you love how much you love them and if you're telling them often enough. He had it all. He was the whole package. A very nice person too (I met him once at the theme park I worked at) - he was just so down to earth and real. I love ya, my friend!!

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained IF, unexplained RPL, possible luteal phase defect

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole, trigger, TI, progesterone

How are things going?: Pretty good! O should be happening today/have happened yesterday. A little nervous that the egg or eggs might not be great quality since I triggered on CD9, but we'll see. The RE who read my scan said my lining was already around 8.5mm, so at least there's that. Last cycle it was only 3.5 on CD10 when I triggered.

Any questions?: I have a follow up with my RE on Thursday to decide where we're going from here. I think we need one more failed IUI before we can even request for IVF approval from our insurance. DH says he wants to know how much the copays will be. He's not comfortable spending a large amount, especially since there's no guarantee of a THB. That was tough to hear him say, but I understand. Should I push for an endometrial biopsy and any more possible testing whether or not my hormones are balanced?

GTKY: What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to? Definitely the JonBenet Ramsey case! I'd also like the know what happened to the lost colony of Roanoke.

How are things going?: my DH left for work out of town so it’s always hard in the beginning. Sorry I’ve been MIA just been trying to cope by keeping myself super busy!

Any questions?: YES what did all you guys wish you would have done or asked during your first appt with a REI/Fertility Specialist/OBGYN? I see my OB for the first time tomorrow and I’m a little nervous!

@tryingktogku - I just started going once a week ($75 a session) and I figured I'd give it a month or two to see if it's worth it. My insurance has been great about covering IF stuff so I can't complain about paying for this oop

Just thought I’d do a quick update here! OB appt went great we’re doing more bloodwork and an internal ultrasound next week then I see the OB again at the end of February! I really like her she’s very positivist and ended our appt with “let’s hope we can get you pregnant soon” so now I’m just in limbo waiting for all my results and this never ending cycle to end!

How are things going?: Doing well! Still waiting on CH’s, but we ended up with really good timing this cycle regardless. I’m already getting ahead of myself on being hopeful! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know in reality we don’t have much more of a chance than we do any other cycle though! Just have to wait and see...and try not to make myself crazy in the meantime! As soon as I get CH’s, I’ll stop temping and basically not track anything at all...hopefully that’ll keep the crazy away!

@inthewoods23 @nitnat007 - The PA said that because it was different ultrasound techs there is a level of inconsistency with how they measure. And she said that even though it sounds like a big difference, it's not physically, so it's hard to get a true reading. Which really left me with more concerns and questions about the accuracy of all of this...

They doubled my estrace dose and I have to go back again tomorrow for another lining check. I'm just so mentally and physically exhausted with this whole process. My doctor's office is a 45 min drive in the morning (with traffic) and then I have to turn around and drive back up in the direction I came from another 30 mins to get to work. So I'm annoyed because I know 100% that my lining won't be where it needs to be by tomorrow, so I'm doing all that driving for nothing.

@feather_heather I was going to mention that maybe it was the different techs too... I guess I understand that there is going to be some inconsistent readings per doctor but it is also kind of shocking how much so. One time one RE said that I had one large follie at 28mm and the next day a different RE said it was 2 different follies both at 22mm.

@kpearse99 yeah I am surprised too. But I’m thinking after all this testing her game plan will be to induced a period then do more bloodwork on day 3 of my cycle and then go from there again!

my bloodwork is still pointing towards PCOS unfortunately. Waiting for my ultrasound next week to see if I have the string of petals but you don’t need visible cysts to be diagnosed so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I must say I was kind of hoping it was something else and I could go back to eating cheese lol PCOS sucks because it’s not just fertility it affects. You are all so incredible supportive through this and I don’t know what do do without you all! Thank you so much!

@kpearse99 we do the same thing!! Phoebe is not very smart, so she has a very goofy voice and Luna has to explain lots of things to her....because, she just gets it! 😂 Yes, we will get through it together!! And hopefully our October hype will pay off! That gif is absolutely perfect!!

@feather_heather I hope the doubling the estrace does the trick...but that stinks to do all that driving if you don’t think it’ll be there yet! Fingers crossed you are surprised and it is though!

@tryingktogku sorry you are still waiting for the confirmation of diagnosis. While the visible cysts aren’t necessary for a diagnosis, it helps them to confirm since there isn’t a “PCOS test” (it would be nice if there was). Hopefully you get more clarity next week!
