Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing and Treatment w/o 1/27

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (if you've been):

@feather_heather ugh I feel your heartache with our bodies (lining) not doing what it's supposed to do. What did they say about it? What are the next steps? ETA - I love that the acupuncture is working for you! It's wonderful that you were so zen to the point that YH noticed!

  • @kpearse99 - They kept me on the same dose of estrogen and I have to go back in tomorrow for another lining check. At the rate it grew last time, I'll probably end up with a few more appointments like that. I'm so glad you were able to get back into a positive mindset!

  • Thank you @mvt2003. I know the time will go by quickly. I mean, it's already been almost 2 months since the ER itself and I think that time passed like a flash. Time is such a strange concept. To feel like we want time to slow down so we can enjoy and live in the moment, but also want to fast-forward to the future with hopes that it will be a better place, but then also want to go back in time to change things... LOL no wonder my brain is fried.
You're so right about age/development being a factor for the LOs though. MN is 14mos now and is just so, SO cute. It does get easier, and I know we need to now start making more of an effort to try to plan the kinds of interactions that are on our terms and not theirs so we still get in some quality time in a positive way instead of it being damaging to our relationship(s) and mental health.

  • Oh @kiki047 I don't have much advice but I have lots of hugs for you. I feel like I would be having the same exact thoughts and emotions if I were in your shoes. Just try and keep taking it all just one day at a time. And if that's still a little overwhelming than take it all just hour by hour. <3

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): CD 73 so?

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):  we shall see after tomorrow!

How are things going?: my DH left for work out of town so it’s always hard in the beginning. Sorry I’ve been MIA just been trying to cope by keeping myself super busy!

Any questions?: YES what did all you guys wish you would have done or asked during your first appt with a REI/Fertility Specialist/OBGYN? I see my OB for the first time tomorrow and I’m a little nervous!

GTKY: What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to? There are too many to count!
  • @mvt2003 OMG girl I hope you have a successful first IVF Journey!

@feather_heather ahhh I want to try acupuncture so badly but it’s SO expensive! Is it truly worth it?

@kpearse99 I hope it all works out for you this time around! Glad you’re in a better head space now!

@kiki047 hopefully you don’t stress to the point where it does interfere with your O day! Maybe a trigger would be better if you think you’re heading that way anyway? Will your REI be able to make that happen without a hassle?

  • @emeraldduchess hopefully your insurance will cover more than you think if you have to go forward with IVF!
  • @emeraldduchess yay for a nice thick lining! I don't think it would hurt to ask what they think of doing a biopsy for you.

@tryingktogku I don't have any suggestions for you, just omg yay for finally seeing an OB! Hope you get a new cycle soon!

  • My lining went from a 5.5 on Saturday to a 3.5 today ...

@tryingktogku - I just started going once a week ($75 a session) and I figured I'd give it a month or two to see if it's worth it. My insurance has been great about covering IF stuff so I can't complain about paying for this oop
  • @emeraldduchess So glad your lining was on point this time around! That difference is crazy! Did they tell you how big your follies were when you went in?

@tryingktogku I'm just so glad you're finally getting in to see someone!!

@feather_heather wait what??!! Oh no!! Did they say why or how that would happen? Especially since you're taking estrogen? I'm guessing they upped your dose?? Don't give up!!

@abarr723 So glad you'll finally get some results and answers!!

  • Just thought I’d do a quick update here! OB appt went great we’re doing more bloodwork and an internal ultrasound next week then I see the OB again at the end of February! I really like her she’s very positivist and ended our appt with “let’s hope we can get you pregnant soon” so now I’m just in limbo waiting for all my results and this never ending cycle to end!

  • @abarr723 we're staying in Vermont but traveled into NY to see a customer. The sales manager I was with was freaking out at the idea of going on a ferry. And now she's like, I'm a ferry expert lol. I told her there was nothing to worry about!

@feather_heather oh no! I just don't understand how that happens. Hope you get some answers so you can keep moving forward!

@tryingktogku glad things went well at the appointment! Did they comment at all about your cycle being so long?

  • @inthewoods23 yeah she said it is abnormal busy doesn’t want to jump into giving me Provera right away if it’s something other than PCOS or potentially a combo of things so I won’t know until I see her at the end of February again!
  • Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS & Unexplained RPL

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW (I think)

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole (5mg), TI, and Progesterone after O

How are things going?: Doing well! Still waiting on CH’s, but we ended up with really good timing this cycle regardless. I’m already getting ahead of myself on being hopeful! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know in reality we don’t have much more of a chance than we do any other cycle though! Just have to wait and see...and try not to make myself crazy in the meantime! As soon as I get CH’s, I’ll stop temping and basically not track anything at all...hopefully that’ll keep the crazy away!

    Any questions?: None right now.

GTKY: What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to? Oh, I totally agree with the what the heck my animals are thinking! They all have such unique personalities, so I’d love to know what goes on in their cute little heads!

@mvt2003 yay for no more BC pills!! I hope your baseline on Thursday goes wonderfully and you can get going with this cycle!! I’m so dang excited for you!!
@feather_heather I’m so sorry you didn’t get good news about your lining...that’s so frustrating! I hope you got better news today about what the plan is going forward! Sending positive vibes your way!!
@kpearse99 I’m so glad you are feeling better about things after the weekend and an extra HIO session!! I’m right there with you on the waiting game...and I have everything crossed that this is your cycle!!
@kiki047 I’m so sorry for all of the emotions you are dealing with right now!! Sending hugs your way! 💜 I hope you are able to keep those boundaries to protect yourself...and I hope this next cycle flies by so you can move on to your FET! My female cat does the same thing with the sprinting out of the litter box! I’m like, are you embarrassed that you just pooped and don’t want to be seen with your mess?! Haha. Meanwhile my male cat obsessively scratches all around on the litter box, but not actually on the litter to cover his mess...then saunters away like he’s proud! That is a great mystery...why are cats so weird?
@nitnat007 I’m glad you had a good weekend, but I hope you have an even better weekend coming up and get to relax some!! I’m also hoping time flies by for you so you can move on to your FET!
@inthewoods23 I hope your trip goes well and it’s not too difficult to stick with your gluten/dairy free diet while being away! I just keep wishing time away, but I’m ready for March to get here for all these FET’s!!
@emeraldduches yay for O...sounds like your lining was spot-on!! I hope your appt goes well on Thursday and you get some answers about how to proceed (although I’m hoping with everything in me that you won’t need those next steps)!!
@abarr I hope you have a great appt tomorrow, and get some answers and a plan going forward!
@tryingktogku I’m glad your OB appt went well! I hope the extra testing will give you some clarity and hope going forward!

  • @inthewoods23 Hope that you have a great trip! Haha MH rolls his sleeves up too. It definitely has a certain sex appeal to it.

@kpearse99 I give my pets voices too!! Lol, my chocolate lab is version of Eeyore when he is pouting.

@emeraldduchess Way to go lining! FX for you. Hope things are ok at work and that they settle down soon. Positive thoughts!

@tryingktogku Wow! I really hope that you are able to get something to jump start that cycle soon. So frustrating for you. Glad that your appt went well though. FX for results coming in soon.

    @abarr723 Good luck today!

@feather_heather Nnnoooo! How did that happen?!

@bluetickgal FX for CH's soon. I found not tracking after O definitely helped things on the crazy front. Being hopeful is never a bad thing though, we always have to hope. I still do even after almost 2.5 years.

  • @bluetickgal Sometimes we make up conversations for our dogs  :D (and by "we" I mostly mean "me"!) Lola likes to bark at Chase a lot when he has a toy that she decides she wants so I usually fill in actual words for her barking. I think I may need to get more of a life  :D And you and I will help each other keep the crazies at bay for both of us!! <3 We got this, my friend!

@emeraldduchess Just know that we are thinking about you too and missing you :)

@nitnat007 Soooooo glad I'm not alone  :D My sweet corgi, who passed a little bit ago, always looked so sad so I always spoke like Eeyore for him too hahaha "It's another gloomy day"!

@tryingktogku I'm actually kind of surprised that they won't give you anything to jump start your period yet. I guess I sort of understand why, but I feel like you getting your period started wouldn't interfere with testing.

  • @inthewoods23 @nitnat007 - The PA said that because it was different ultrasound techs there is a level of inconsistency with how they measure. And she said that even though it sounds like a big difference, it's not physically, so it's hard to get a true reading. Which really left me with more concerns and questions about the accuracy of all of this...

They doubled my estrace dose and I have to go back again tomorrow for another lining check. I'm just so mentally and physically exhausted with this whole process. My doctor's office is a 45 min drive in the morning (with traffic) and then I have to turn around and drive back up in the direction I came from another 30 mins to get to work. So I'm annoyed because I know 100% that my lining won't be where it needs to be by tomorrow, so I'm doing all that driving for nothing.
  • @feather_heather I was going to mention that maybe it was the different techs too... I guess I understand that there is going to be some inconsistent readings per doctor but it is also kind of shocking how much so. One time one RE said that I had one large follie at 28mm and the next day a different RE said it was 2 different follies both at 22mm.

  • @bluetickgal it’s okay to be hopeful! Especially when you know you get the timing right! That in itself is an accomplishment  haha

    @nitnat007 thank you!

@kpearse99 yeah I am surprised too. But I’m thinking after all this testing her game plan will be to induced a period then do more bloodwork on day 3 of my cycle and then go from there again!

my bloodwork is still pointing towards PCOS unfortunately. Waiting for my ultrasound next week to see if I have the string of petals but you don’t need visible cysts to be diagnosed so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I must say I was kind of hoping it was something else and I could go back to eating cheese lol PCOS sucks because it’s not just fertility it affects. You are all so incredible supportive through this and I don’t know what do do without you all! Thank you so much!

@nitnat007 thanks lady! I got CH’s this morning, so now on to the waiting period! I agree, continued hope is what gets us through this!! 💜
@kpearse99 we do the same thing!! Phoebe is not very smart, so she has a very goofy voice and Luna has to explain lots of things to her....because, she just gets it! 😂 Yes, we will get through it together!! And hopefully our October hype will pay off! That gif is absolutely perfect!!
@feather_heather I hope the doubling the estrace does the trick...but that stinks to do all that driving if you don’t think it’ll be there yet! Fingers crossed you are surprised and it is though!
@tryingktogku sorry you are still waiting for the confirmation of diagnosis. While the visible cysts aren’t necessary for a diagnosis, it helps them to confirm since there isn’t a “PCOS test” (it would be nice if there was). Hopefully you get more clarity next week!
@abarr723 you’ve got this!! Hope all goes well!
