@nursejenn5 lol yours just reminded me of when I pulled into the Pure Barre parking lot Monday evening and tried to unlock the studio door by pressing my garage door opener. Pregnancy brain is REAL!
@blaf322 I know this was an older part of the convo, lol, but re: childcare. I had an unplanned homebirth, and honestly, having to wait for my parents to come over is partly why. I had prodromal labor from Saturday to Tuesday, and it progressed really really fast late Tuesday night. Had it been daytime, we might have just brought DD1 to the hospital and had them meet us there, but she was sleeping so we didn't. I was also having a lot of bowel movements (TMI?), and between that and the nonstop contractions I was moving *really* slowly, but I think that it's one of the things that would have changed how things went down.
I would think it would be fine having your mom only head out once you're admitted, right? If you have backup childcare in the meantime.
Also, I felt movement with my first around 14 weeks. At first, it felt like my stomach was dropping - or like it does on a roller coaster. I didn't feel until way later with my second because I had an anterior placenta that time. But I agree that you might be feeling movement! I've also felt a couple of random spasmy things, though, and that was at like 8w, so def too early for me.
2/13 Blighted ovum, D&C -- 6/13 MC -- 8/14 DD born -- 3/17 MC -- 9/18 DD2 born Expecting again -- EDD 7/27/20
2. I'm average height, but I have a very short torso and I'm actually concerned how everything is going to fit and move around in my torso... like will my stomach end up in my eye sockets?
3. LOVE the nursery inspirations. I have been pinning so many nursery ideas and I am so excited to start buying things.
4. Is it possible that instead of you getting pregnancy brain that your partner is actually the one with pregnancy brain?
5. I'm craving a DQ Ice Cream Cake.. which I haven't had in years. THE FUDGE AND THE OREO LAYER... OMG.
@shaqn0sis also super short torso-ed, like I barely have six inches between my nipples and my belly button (but I’m almost 5’9, I am a human starfish ) somehow it just works! I didn’t get that big the first time around, but also delivered pretty early. We shall see where this one ends up size wise/belly wise.
@kc0711 haha glad I'm not the only short torso-ed person. I've never actually measured, but all I know is that there is about an inch between my bottom rib and the top of my hip bone. good to know that it all works out - curious to see how I will pan out as well haha.
I am late to the game but @stlbuckeye132 I can’t believe your MIL said that. I would have been mad too!
@blaf322 I was seriously just getting so irritated with our oldest for all the smacking while she eats. For one... why didn’t I teach her better manners 😂😳 and 2 ugh it just got to me so much today.
I wanted to tag so many because I was laughing at so much of what I missed! I finally got some energy back these past couple days after being sick and the normal first trimester exhaustion so I’ve been doing all the things I’ve put off for so long like cleaning the bathrooms and trying to figure out an actual menu for the week. Plus I homeschool and we are starting school back up on Monday so I’ve been trying to get ready for that as well.
Also, baby brain is the worst! I either think I already did something and didn’t or I try to do it multiple times and realize I already did that only to forget again a few minutes later 🤦🏻♀️
@treeofcheem girl, you did not make me feel better 😂
@hbird0723 haha... I’m so crazy about chewing/mouth sounds. I know it’s a little bit me/a little bit that some people are gross lol... but I’m already teaching my 3yo about chewing with her mouth closed. The lip smacking is not a cute look 😂
This is random but DH is adorable. He was born/raised in Brazil and in Brazil there’s this theory that if a pregnant woman doesn’t have a craving satisfied the kid will be born looking like the food she craved. This morning I said I wanted peanut butter on toast with bananas and strawberries on top. He hopped out of bed and said, “my kid can’t look like a strawberry!” and went to the store.
It’s extra funny because I’m a redhead and he has a ginger beard so strawberry probably isn’t outside the realm of possibility. 😂 But still so cute.
I’m halfway through my “Monday” first of three 12 hour shifts(generally gone for 14+ hours). And I’m so over it. Also didn’t eat my salad I packed for lunch, instead not healthy food at the cafeteria sounded better. Probably worth it. 😴
@nursejenn5 I almost always end up treating myself to not so healthy food if I’m working a lot or have a busy schedule. Food is my reward system 😂. Hope your shifts go by fast!
On a random note, I did some light yoga today for the first time since finding out about the pregnancy. I have some hip/back pain that I need to deal with but I’ve been far too tired. I feel almost human again after getting back on the mat!
@kristinl492 Yoga sounds lovely, I'm considering going to the old people yoga at my gym once my sprained ankle is more healed, hopefully they won't laugh me out of the room.
Love the baby kicks and movement and missed it as soon as I was not pregnant. I didn't feel until 24-25 weeks with first time/last time (but was told I should feel early at 19-20 weeks based on placenta). I hope to feel it sooner this time. I was feeling stomach spasms or something last night in bed but no way it was kicks bc I'm only 12 weeks today.
People had me scared about baby being in ribs but he never was. He was a darn ninja though....soooo active. He would wake my husband up at night. It is no surprise he has been busiest baby and toddler. He does not stop moving. "Busy" is what everyone says. Yes, I know!
My DH'S best friend (best man in our wedding) and his wife announced they are due in July today! We are so excited for them, and can't wait to be able to tell them we are due exactly one week later! 💜💜💜💜 I know they struggled to conceive with their first LO, with multiple failed rounds of IVF, but I'm not sure and would never ask this time- we are just thrilled for them! They are due one day after their first LO's 2nd birthday!

I feel like I should be in the old people yoga room myself 😂. I just did some at home in my living room with a YouTube video!
