First ultrasound today was good! Baby in the right place and with a yolk sac! Too early to see heart beat (5w+4) so going back next Friday for a repeat ultrasound. It makes it even harder not to tell people now that I have had my first ultrasound!
I had mine yesterday and forgot to post. 6 +2. We didnt do heartbeat, as my RE knows that it freaks people out this early, so she said we would do it at our 8 week one.

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
I was having some one sided cramps so they sent me in for an ultrasound. Everything looks perfect for 5w4days, pregnancy in the right place, gestation sac, yolk, etc. I’m prob closer to 5w actually, just based on my cycle. They don’t know why I’m crampy, uterus growing or something probably. They said we should see a baby on the next ultrasound on the 25th! Such a relief! Now I can stop googling ectopic pregnancy at least. One less internet minefield.
@rachelredhead if you think you're close to 5 weeks, we're pretty close in timing, and I've been crampy yesterday and today too! I'm trying to just ignore it and stay off google. I'm glad everything looked as it should with your US!
@stlbuckeye132 my nurse called and said it was likely a combo of gas/uterine stretching. They did see a fibroid but it was not anywhere that would cause trouble but could potentially cause some pain (though they were doubtful on that). So many twinges and pokes to get used to! I’m thankful I was able to get in, just to calm my nerves. Sounds like week 5 can have all sorts of crampyness but I hope yours resolves soon! I like to think it’s just the little bean building his/her house, swinging hammers, moving furniture. Get comfy in there, bean!
@rachelredhead I’ve always had the Twitching pains around my ovaries in early pregnancy. Things like all over cramps during a sneeze are pretty constant.
@rachelredhead the cramping is fairly normal. I remember having lots of cramping throughout my 1st pregnancy- from initial implantation and growth to round ligament and braxton hicks. As long as it's not severe and you're not running a fever then it should be fine.
Hi @footdrbritt was there a heartbeat? And if so, what was the number? Just curious as I’m going in next week and will be around the same time as you (6 weeks and a couple days)
Second ultrasound Friday was great! There is a baby and a heart beat! (Rate 123) Measuring at 6w+1 on Friday which is a few less than my estimated based on LMP but no problem. EDD now 7/9/20!
We have a baby and a yolk sac! Measured at 7W+1D which is only one day off than I thought. New EDD is July 6th. Heart rate was 130 which was a huge relief. I'm so over the moon to have a good ultrasound this time.
Had my first u/s today at 5+2, and just a big empty gestational sac.... This is exactly what happened with my son 2 years ago (also at 5+2), so trying to remain optimistic and hope it’s not a blighted ovum. No pic bc I was so flustered I forgot to get one. Figured I’d post in case anyone else has the same experience. Next u/s in a week. If we don’t see yolk sac + fetal pole then, sadly I’m out.
@pretzellover hoping you see that fetal pole next week! I'm sure that's unnerving, but hopefully knowing you saw the same thing with your healthy son provides some comfort.
Had my 1st US appointment yesterday. According to my last period 7 W + 5 D...according to the baby's measurements, 8 W + 1/2 D. A huge relief to know that baby James is looking good. Didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but the technician measured it at 165 bpm, which I guess is good. Had a transvaginal US to get a better picture. Amazing and surreal to see my tiny baby in such detail...it's the size of a raspberry and I can see the arm and leg buds and the huge head. So awesome!!! Go back in 3 weeks and get to hear the heartbeat then, can't wait!! This makes everything that much more real.
First ultrasound was yesterday and measured 6w5d with a heart rate of 123! Everything looked great with baby, although they did detect that I have hypothyroidism with my lab draw so they put me on a dose of levothyroxine (not too terrible - high TSH but still normal Free T4...looks like I was right on the border). They've been testing me for this for awhile due to a strong family history but it was never "off" enough to put me on a med. This may explain why I've been SO freezing cold lately!
I may have shed a tear or two seeing that little heart flicker as it has been a long 3.5 years of praying for a positive pregnancy test - let alone an actual bean in there! Also grateful there was 1 and not 2 babies as twins also run in my family. Next ultrasound set for December
@Elle131 measured 8 weeks 4 days yesterday. I've given up understanding the measurements but Dr. was pleased so I'll take it. FET was on 10/10. Was quite surprised at the movement I could see. Pix quality is bad but on screen I could see buds for arms and legs.
I feel like I can finally exhale! I know it’s still so early but I’m so relieved. Saw one baby with a heartbeat! 6w based on LMP, RE said 6w1 day based on the HCG shot.
