I'm 6w+2d and the bloat seems to have come back completely. I swear I look about 6 months pregnant! Some nausea but not throwing up yet. Burping a lot (which I've never been a big burper so feels strange). Woke up with a ton of back pain too. Boobs feel huge and heavy and very sore. First ultrasound is next Monday and I can hardly wait!
I can't tell if I'm starting to feel nausea, or it's anxiety/expectation of nausea. I keep feeling like there's something caught in the back of my throat.
- Bloating and cramps, stomach also feels tender. Cant stand if it presses against the counter or something like that. - Sides of boobs are super sore and nipples are killing me! - Super tired and taking more naps. - Pee smells weird 🙊 Sorry TMI! This is one of the first symptoms I had that convinced me I was pregnant. - Have felt a bit lightheaded on and off
@lookonthesunnyside, it just occurred to me the other day that my sideboob pain was an actual symptom and not my bra poking me (ok, or breast cancer, that thought also occurred to me). I expected the nipple soreness, but the sides
@akoros YES! The "expectation of nausea" is so true.
I also figured out after my ultrasound on Friday that some of my nausea was coming from nerves too. I was so nervous that I didn't realize that some of my nausea was from that until the scan went well.
Then the nausea doubled over the weekend and is worse than Friday but I'm 6+3 so I can't complain that it's here

Has anyone else needed more salt? I always like salty foods in general, but I've been finding myself putting extra salt on everything lately because I can't taste it

Salt actually helps us increase our blood volume and hold onto the water we drink. And if you sweat more while pregnant, you lose more salt. So yes, you might need more!

Interesting, thank you! Love learning these little tidbits (discovered yesterday that our resting heart rates also increase, which according to my FitBit has definitely happened).
Has anyone tried Sea bands? Curious if they work even if I’d look like I was in the 80s.
I’m eating so much less now than I was prepregnancy but since I’m not throwing up my provider can’t really give me anything. But I’m too nauseous to eat and too hungry not to.

I have had some success with them.

I noticed that my resting heart rate also increased with pregnancy. Then I had a day when it dropped and took it off. I dont need that kind of stress in my life.
I have some pretty major cramps this morning. Ugh. I also feel like I’m getting sick, which would suck since there’s nothing you can take. The co-worker that sits behind me was out yesterday with the flu - thankfully I got my flu shot yesterday...hopefully that’ll help. Maybe that’s why I feel like crap. Who knows!
@chaos-and-coffee are the cramps near your scar? I have those on and off and Dr said it's normal. Hope you don't get the flu or any other cold. Being sick is the worst prego!
@chaos-and-coffee there are totally things you can take while pregnant. I caught EVERYTHING while pregnant with my daughter & worked out some killer combos...
Tylenol for fever/pain Add unisom (doxylamine) or benadryl for a nyquil-like effect Afrin (don't use for more than a few days) for nasal congestion Robitussin for cough
@saladflambe thank you! @runwmusic actually yes, now that you say that, they are by my scar. Maybe that is why!
Flu shot can totally make you feel crummy for a few days. And stretching, tugging, pulling, and tightness around c section scar (or any other abdominal scar) is totally normal. Most people have some adhesions (places where extra scar tissue connects tissues together that shouldn't be). They're typically non-harmful.
My scar felt raw and chafed most of last pregnancy. After my VBAC though, I think everything got broken up and I'm not feeling it this time. Maybe it won't happen. I can hope at least!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who's been crying over EVERYTHING! It's driving me crazy. I can't watch Paw Patrol with my daughter because the dogs are too cute and I cry. I can't listen to music because I love it so much and I cry. I can't look at baby stuff because I get excited and cry. Today I literally cried because a semi followed me on most of the commute to my doctor appointment and it didn't get off on the same exit as me. Help please. 😭😂
@mommallama17 You're not alone. I'm only 4+4 and the emotions are in full swing.
I didn't have any symptoms besides fatigue with my first until week eight or nine, but I'm already nauseous (like being constantly low grade sea sick), sore boobs, and fatigued -- though that latter might be toddler + grad school tired. I cannot wait until I turn in my thesis on Sunday! I'm going to sleep all of the daycare hours next week. (Fact check: I will not. But I will nap with abandon on T-Th.)
The vomiting arrived this morning... I thought I might get lucky this time. Oh well. Hopefully it doesn’t stick around because it’s throwing my whole morning off & DH is going out of town later this week for work. I’m peanut butter & JEALOUS of all of you that are enjoying food right now. Everything is bleh to me. Some things will sound good but nothing tastes satisfying. It’s like my tastes buds are off.
@lyndshurt Gurl. I'm in your boat. I desperately want to eat but it's so awful when I do that I cry at the prospect. Goal is to stay hydrated and do what I can. My husband keeps reminding me to not to force it down but the hunger is so real despite the nausea!

I thought the fatigue was bad with DS, HOLY MOLY. I am so fricken tired! I could literally fall asleep anywhere right now. TMI but poor DH must think I'm bored of him because after DTD I'm passing out
My appetite is totally out of control. I'm not feeling super hungry during the day, but once I start eating, I am ravenous... like I cant get the food in fast enough. Now in the middle of the night, I wake up starving.
I have a pounding headache right now. Feeling tired when I get home from work which is difficult when I have two kids to solo parent. Major bloating and discomfort and nausea. This is by far my worst first tri.
This is a little goofy, but does anyone experience little 'skin tingles' while pregnant? This is my first, so I have no idea what's going on 🤣, but ever since a week or so after our embryo transfer (we transferred 2 five-day embryos), I've occasionally had little tingles on my skin. They're generally around my abdomen/hips area, but sometimes spread to my legs or back. A lot of my symptoms have gone for a few days now, but the tingles are still there! Making me feel better.
Add me to the headache train....again. This child is giving me so many headaches. I never got headaches w/ DD. And I'm so exhausted and just my brain isn't functioning and I'm overwhelmed by work and probably letting that show too much.
I got DD down for a nap and went to take one myself on the couch. Only the dog is running around the room trying to eat a fly that’s buzzing around. Naptime on hold to see if she succeeds.

@skiwithalex me!!!! All the smells bother me and I am constantly in a state of being repulsed. My shampoo...the leaves outside...febreeze sheets. It all makes me want to gag. I had this problem in my last pregnancy too.
Re: October symptoms
I ate a fair amount of baked brie (allowed!) on Saturday & now I can't stand to even see a picture of brie.
Not all cheese though, so that's good.
With my daughter, it was seafood, but especially shrimp (which I'd also 'just eaten' and then it became my biggest aversion)...barffff

Does anyone else have a very heightened sense of smell that is just repulsive 90% of the time?
