What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): TI with progesterone post-O (IUI next cycle)

How are things going?: Taking a break from posting/keeping up with threads was a good call (especially with that Peggy Invasion last week. Holy crap. I would definitely have a warning if I were participating!). I am feeling much better after a crazy-busy week. I'm a bit more settled into my school routine and the concert I was in is over so I can relax a bit. Now if I could just shake this cold! I was very tempted to audition for the next show at the theatre but I decided that I could do without the hectic schedule and the extra stress. Gotta take care of myself and that's incredibly hard during rehearsals and the run of a show.

@emeraldduchess It’s nice to see you back here, and it’s great that the time away was just what you needed! Good call in taking care of yourself & not taking on another production. I’m sure that must be hard to decide when the thrill of performing fulfills your creative side. Here’s to hoping you can shake that cold ASAP!

Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, Autoimmune crap, AMA, DOR BS

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I just did another round of intralipids that I posted about here at the beginning of the month. Clearly last cycle was a bust so I didn’t get to find out if the intralipids work lol. I also added in fertility acupuncture. Also doing another IUI at the end of this week. Hopefully this cycle is the one!

How are things going?: I’m feeling hopeful about TTC during waking hours but having bad dreams about defeat & the end of the road. Trying to ignore those and re-write my mental script.

Any questions?: I ovulated on CD10 last cycle after being very regular (between CD12-16) for the last 9 months or so. Anyone else O that early?

Sorry to post and almost literally ghost this week! I won't have any personal devices with me on my trip and I don't really wanna bump on my work phone! I'm thinking especially of @kiki047 who has betas and @b_1029 who has her first IUI this week (I think?) and of course always thinking happy thoughts for @inthewoods23.

@NYTino24 sorry for the BFN, but having an IUI as backup is great. I hope it does the trick for you!

@keikilove I am just the same. I'm oftentimes cheery and positive during the day but at night is when my IF BSC rears its ugly head and makes it hard to sleep. Extra hugs, friend. Hope we can both stop losing sleep over this soon.

Diganosis: unexplained

Status: WTO

What are you doing this cycle? Nada. Letrozole + trigger + IUI + Progesterone next cycle.

How are things going? Welp, I'm on my way to the airport to go to Morocco for the week, so I'm both excited and nervous! No "trying" this month and I'm honestly okay with the break from HIO.
In other news, I had my HSG last Friday and it was normal. Glad, but also, wahhhh. I was a little on edge during the procedure, the doctor was like "uh oh, the dye seems to be leaking out" and stupid me was thinking "oh right, I must have a hole in my uterus" but obviously what she meant was that it was leaking out the way it came. 🤦‍♂️ Apparently I have a tilted uterus (a normal variation).

Any questions? How long did yall spot after the HSG? She told me 2 days but I still got quite a bit of **TMI** small brown/black clots on their way out. I may email the Nurse if it keeps up.

@keikilove your GTKY is straight cracking me up. I'm bad at thinking of GTKYs too which is why I don't usually start this thread!! Usually I just google good GTKY questions too. 🤷‍♂️

@keikilove lol I always felt like when I'd start these all my GTKYs were lame like "what car do you drive". I can never come up with something really good that would be something people would get into good discussion over.

@emeraldduchess I'm all about the self care now too after the sad ending to my week. They always say stress can play a major factor in TTC and I definitely believe it. Do what you need to do to not overwhelm yourself!

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, MFI

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): I guess we're benched at this point for a few months, but that probably won't stop me from attempting a natural try while we go through testing

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): RPL testing, next cycle is another mock transfer but adding a biopsy for receptivity testing

How are things going?: DH and I got in a HUGE fight yesterday. He is not one to show or ever express his emotions so it wasn't until I decided to leave the house to get away that I finally understood how he's been feeling. I went to a park and sat in the parking lot. The original plan was to write down what my expectations are with keeping the house clean (what started the whole thing) because again empty wrappers are just left around the house and there was also the pile of clothes of his that has been laying in our office/future nursery room for like 2 years that he's never gone through if it should be donated or what. Anyway, we texted and he finally opened up to me. He brought up the actual reason why he's never taken any effort to put doors on our bedrooms and the main bathroom (we took them off when we first bought the house 5 years ago to red the moulding and have carpet installed). At this point he doesn't want doors because he felt if we put a door on that office/future nursery room then that's closing the door on the dream of having kids. So all this time I find out it's been a symbolic thing. So yeah... Thank God we've had the weekend to feel our feelings because I think we can move forward going back to work a little easier

Any questions?: What kind of things is RPL testing going to show us? I believe my RE offered to have a meeting with us at no charge and I think that's to go over everything she said to me on the phone Friday, so idk if I should ask her what she expects it to show us for our case?

GTKY: What’s a great GTKY that we should do (or do again)? I liked the one I created where we nominated each other for things like "most likely to go off on a Peggy", "best use of gifs", etc. Might be good since we've had a lot of new people since we last did that!

@b_1029 super excited for your IUI! No advice, but take note for me next cycle (: I'll try to get some pics in Morocco. It's a kinda short trip (considering how long it takes to get there) but I'm hoping to have a little sightseeing time.

@hanshotfirst77 11 days!! Eeek! Yeah, the doctor said that a tilted uterus was totally normal. She also said something about "straightening" it out while she was in there, but again I was on edge so maybe she just meant straightening out the xray image on the screen. I assume they can't just un-tilt a ute, but maybe I'm wrong 😂.

@jennifer_louise have fun in Morocco! I don't think I spotting much after a few hours but I would think if it stays light you're ok. But of course always good to get the doctors or nurses opinion 🙂

@b_1029 yay for IUI! There's really nothing to it. YH goes in a few hours before you to provide his sperm, they do the sperm wash, then you come in and they insert the sperm via catheter. Then you'll chill for a little bit before getting up. If they have trouble with getting the catheter in it may take a few minutes (they tugged my cervix straight the first time), but otherwise you're in there for only a few minutes! Take a Tylenol beforehand to reduce the cramping, which hopefully won't be much. It's super easy, barely and inconvenience! (Anybody else watch the Pitch Meeting YouTube videos? Lol)

Diagnosis (if you've been): Just starting testing

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting for testing to start - most likely 10/7 will be CD3

How are things going?: Ok overall, MH and I have had a lot of very preliminary conversations about all of this. We're also discussing when we're going to let anyone know that we're dealing with IF. I've recommended that we wait until the testing is done and we have a basic idea of where we're headed. I also made it clear to him that I'm not interested in shouting his or my medical info all over the place, so I plan to be pretty circumspect about any diagnoses IRL. I'm very anxious about the questions transitioning from people asking about when I'm going to get KU to more personal questions about what medical procedures I'm trying and if I've thought of adoption.

Any questions?: Nope, just a lot of nerves haha.

@emeraldduchess Glad you took time for you, but happy to see you back!!! In a weird way, the Peggy invasion was probably good for me because it forced me into making the call to my dr, although it made me absolutely crazy!

@keikilove I feel like every so often my body throws me a curveball and sends me a very early O. I think it's been as early as CD10 or 11 once, and also as late as CD19. My body hates me

@jennifer_louise have an amazing time in Morocco!!!

@mvt2003 Good luck with all your testing! The beginning can be so overwhelming. And it's totally okay to want to keep a lot of this stuff to yourselves. It's taken me a long time to be even somewhat open about it irl. And still most people don't know. As of right now only my mom knows about me doing IVF.

@hanshotfirst77 thank you!! MH is feeling a lot of stress and anxiety about it, and told me he wants to be able to tell his parents and his brother. I'm the one who realizes that I'll be asked awful questions in public settings at parties etc. I basically want to hibernate about it haha.

@mvt2003 We are in the same boat with trying to decide who to tell. We kind of decided the same, wait until we’ve had our first appointment at the RE and have done some more testing. Then we will only tell really close family/friends. So far, only my mom and 2 friends know. I also want to avoid all the annoying questions/advice.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Guys!!!! I’m so excited to say I have a date for my RE appointment!! Oct 28th!!

How are things going?: Relieved to know I will be able to speak to an RE soon, since I’ve been feeling a bit hopeless lately. I’m just so glad we will be able to move forward soon and can hopefully come up with a plan. I have my list of questions started!

Any questions?: What can I expect for the first appointment? Do they usually do U/S? Or just talk? Will they start making a plan right away or wait until further testing has been done? (Most of the initial testing is done already except the HSG)

GTKY: I’m not sure, but I like @inthewoods23 suggestion of nominating people!

it sounds like you're doing everything to get this cycle "just right", I hope it works!!
@jennifer_louise I spotted pretty heavily for a good 3-4 days after my hycosy, so I would imagine it's the same for an HSG. I was told at the time that it wasn't anything to be worried about as long as it was just spotting, even with big clots. Glad your scan came back clear, as much as it's disappointing not to have more answers from that it is a good sign that everything looks ok in there. Hope you have a great time in Morocco! Be safe, and try to soak in as much as possible in your short trip in between the work commitments.
@inthewoods23 that sounds like some heavy stuff you guys waded through this weekend but glad it's all out in the open and you were able to talk through it. TTC brings out so many emotions in people when tensions are high. MH would hold on to little things like that too so YH is definitely not alone in that.
@b_1029 yaaay for your first IUI! Keeping all the things crossed for you girl! The IUI is kinda like getting a pap test. Like inthewoods said, they also straightened my cervix before inserting the catheter and I spotted a tiny bit after but it was quick.
@hanshotfirst77 I'm going to be in and out for this cycle so in case I don't get to say it before I leave, GL with your FET!! I hope you're long gone by the time I get back so I can stalk you in your BMB!
@mvt2003 I'm right there with you on struggling about how much to share. I'm not hiding the fact that we're dealing with IF but I really struggle with the prying questions so with the exception of my closest friends and family I just haven't said anything at all. With most people I've found it easier if I have a line or script in mind so I'm prepared for that line of questioning. You have no obligation to anyone to tell them more than you're comfortable sharing. It's not your job to comfort others when it comes to your own feelings. I am quick to shut things down swiftly when I make it clear it's not up for discussion, and for the most part people back off.

How are things going?: Thank you @jennifer_louise and @begging4abump for your well wishes this morning. Sadly I did not make it to my beta, again, as AF showed up a few hours early last night despite being on progesterone. Good to know I'm painfully regular down to the hour but (excuse my french) this fucking sucks. On the bright side, MH and I are leaving on our Hawaiian honeymoon for 16 days on Thursday so we're putting off our last IUI until next cycle then will move on to IVF after that. Not gonna lie, I'm dreading it. It's hard to describe. I think because so much of TTC is pure luck, even with IUIs, that if somehow IVF doesn't work it's a much more definitive sign that we really are IF even with the most advanced scientific intervention. Obviously we're not at that stage yet but it's CD1 so I'm all doom and gloom today. Do me a favour and spare me the "it'll be ok"s and "you've got so many options left" please. I know those things are true, but today I need ice cream and hugs.

@hanshotfirst77 Yay! That is so exciting 11 days is not far at all! How were the stim shots for you? I think it is ok to get a little excited! But I understand wanting to stay cautious, too. My RE says IVF has 50% success rate, which really doesn't help with expectations!!

@misshelen86 Ahhh I am so excited that you finally have a date! It will probably be a lot of bloodwork, depending on where you are in your cycle a U/S could happen too. And lot's of talking. Mine made a plan right away. But any testing they required had to be done first before a treatment cycle. But I knew what treatment options we would start with in each scenario depending on results. My RE requires an SHG as well as the HSG but I don't think every RE does that. Mine seems to require the SHG quite frequently. I had one done before treatment could start, and *TW* one done after each MC /*TW* and one before IVF and one before FET. Good luck!

@mvt2003 Sometimes it is nice to have someone in your corner to discuss this stuff with but on the other hand sometimes and more often than not in my experience they just make it worse. Even if they don't mean to. They just don't get it and say the wrong thing at the worst possible time. So I totally hear you on wanting to hibernate about it lol

@bobbyflies2020 Stims were not nearly as bad as I thought they'd be. The needles are really thin so you barely feel them. And I didn't have any more side effects on them then I did on clomid or Femara. The mixing was a little confusing at first but there's lot's of videos to watch to help and by the end I was doing it without thinking. After getting my PGS results back my RE gave me something like 50-60% odds of success with FET. Which I think is pretty much the norm with IVF but not totally assuring either. Especially since I always seem to be on the shit end of statistics lol

@kiki047 I'm so sorry for AF and CD1. I hope you have an amazing time on your honeymoon though! TTC and IF are so hard. Sending you all the hugs and ice cream friend

@hanshotfirst77 You've hit the nail 100% on the head for me. Add in the fact that NO ONE in MH's family is capable of keeping anything to themselves, so essentially telling them means everyone will know. I'm trying to be sensitive to MH's mental state right now, since he doesn't exactly have TB like I do, I just don't think this will be quite the experience he's hoping for.

@kiki047 I'm absolutely going to need to prepare myself for shutting discussions down, I really think that's the only way I can handle it. And seriously, all of the ice cream for you right now. Sometimes the LAST thing I want to hear is that it will all work out, because there's literally no way to know that. You know what doesn't let me down, though? Ice cream. So go ahead and dig in. It will help.

Sorry @misshelen86 we were posting at the same time so I missed you in my initial tags. That's so exciting about having a date for your first appt! Mine didn't do any testing that day, but they did ask a ton of questions about my cycles and our history, and booked us for any additional tests that we needed to do again or have updated (like another SA for MH and b/w for me).

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO!! (hopefully!!)

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): 5mg of Letrozole (finished on Saturday), Trigger and IUI --as long as the timing works our and my follies/ute cooperate this cycle!

How are things going?: Umm... just okay! I'm trying really really hard to be positive, so many uncertainties right now about how my body will react to the higher dose of meds and also if everything will work out with the timing of MH's trip this Thursday-Sunday (although I'm thinking I'll be okay), but at the same time I don't want to get my hopes up after what happened last cycle. It's a very fine line that I can't figure out just yet. BUT - I'll know more Wednesday morning when I go in for my CD12 monitoring appointment.

Any questions?: If my resting temps in the morning have been higher than my regular active temps during the day - is it worth mentioning to my RE? My wake up temps range from 99.1-100 and my regular during the day temps are generally around the 97.4 range... isn't it supposed to be a lower temp at resting than active?!

@misshelen86 Yes to finally having a set date!!!! At my first appointment we talked about my history and questions and then did an US. It was pretty short and simple.

Sorry, I have been MIA! Short update: I am still benched due to uterus surgery until 10/10 or so.

Diagnosis (if you've been): Low morph amd Uterus Defect from ***TW*** 2016 C-section. They discovered this during surgery. It turns out it is more common than previously thought. Research since 2009 shows effects up to 60% of women who have had cesareans but not discussed enough, considering it is easily treatable with surgery.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched and then IVF

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Taking 4 mg of estrodial daily for 30 days to help my uterus heal. Hysteroscopy on 10/10 and same day IVF consult.

How are things going?: My surgery was harder and 2x as long as expected with a uterine balloon. They lied about how much pain to expect which makes me trepidatious about my next hysteroscopy. I also went public with my uterus defect being caused by C-section, for awareness reasons but I don't really like being in pain and vulnerable, so it has been hard. My mom and sister have not been nice about it 🙄, but luckily I have a nice group of friends who also have IF and "get it".

How are things going?: I had my baseline ultrasound today and they thought they saw a large cyst, which will probably mean this cycle is cancelled. I'm feeling so defeated right now.

@bobbyflies2020 That is crazy about the Uterus defect from c-sections. I had no idea. 10/10 is so close though, good luck with the hysteroscopy and then IVF! I'm sorry about family though, sometimes they are the worst.

@mvt2003 what you are describing for your H is exactly how it went for me telling people.

My mom is my #1 supporter and is amazing. I am so glad I decided to tell her. But...when I finally decided to tell my sister and my dad after my back to back miscarriages this year they were both really less than supportive. I keep them in the dark now am as vague as possible about things and don't plan to tell them anything until there is something good to tell. But unfortunately sometimes you need to find that out for yourself. Cause you feel (general you) like your family will make you feel better but they don't always do. In anycase I hope you are both happily surprised by his family if you do tell them but if they are less than helpful we are all here for you

@kpearse99 Yay for IUI! Sorry to have to ask- what happened last month? If you have had an US since 2012 you are probably ok, but if they see anything that looks like a septum it could actually be from a c-section. They can tell during surgery if it was a birth defect or from scar tissue. My RE says he does 4 septum surgeries a month and I didn't ask how many were C-section related. It is really interesting to read but a bummer that I was one of the unlucky ones. He also said it isn't from botched surgeries- everyone's utes respond differently to surgery.

@hanshotfirst77 Sorry to hear your fam doesn't "get it". It is disappointing and frustrating and I wish there was more awareness for womens reproductive health.

@misshelen86 omg! I’m so excited you finally have a date! At my first appt they just talked- if you’ve had all that testing done, just make sure they have the results / you have it with you. They will probably starts planning but other than getting some blood testing done, they didn’t do anything else at my initial appointment.

@kiki047 being regular is annoying AF- I’m sorry. I’m so excited you guys get to go to Hawaii this week and enjoy some quality time together after all the shit you’ve gone through ❤️

AFM- I was a bit shocked at my monitoring appt this morning. My right ovary has been doing jack shit the last 2 times I’ve had ultrasounds and I guess it LOVED the higher dose of letrozole because there was not 1...not 2...but 4 follies 😂
2 are right around 18-19, one is about 16, and the smallest is 14.3. My left side had nothing of note. So she gave me a few options on what to do with that many follies and we landed on triggering tonight at 10 pm in the hopes that only the 2 biggest would release before my IUI on Wednesday morning.

And I KNOW it's coming because MH told me he overheard my SiL's mom ask one of our friends who was going through IVF that awful awful question. So I know she'll ask me. Hoping my SiL tells her not to talk to me about it...

@bobbyflies2020 last month I did the letrozole and went for my first monitoring u/s which looked super promising. Then the next 3 appointments came and it showed my follies were shirking instead of growing. After 45 days my blood work showed I never O'd so they just treated that day like CD 4 and had me start the upped dose of letrozole to get things rolling. So I'm hoping for a MUCH better outcome this time around! I've had several U/S with my RE since June when we started all the testing and I had the HSG which showed everything was clear so I guess I'm good on that front with not having the defect.

@shoogapoff I'm so sorry that your RE doesn't communicate well. Have you considered looking for a new one? I know that process can be daunting though. Keep us posted after they call.
