Like me, who keeps thinking I'm feeling the start of cramping but NO nothing, just like weird maybe spotting. I might seriously test tomorrow just so I know my body is being stupid and letting the progesterone take it's sweet ass time to drop. Every time I look online for what other people experience for time to AF after stopping PIO I see anywhere from 3-6 days. Today is day 6 for me! Argh. I'm never going to get to my next cycle 😩🙈

@inthewoods23 your LP is longer to begin with, right? Mine was 13 this cycle and that includes a day and a half after I stopped the progesterone, which was a whopping 8.9 after the 12 dpo beta. Did you ask what yours was? Mine falls so fast, for better or worse.

CD 1 - pick up Clomid / arrange Ovridel delivery
CD 5 - get genetic results, hematology appointment 
CD 6 - bloodwork, US, start Clomid, get RPL results and IUI protocol

Has anyone doing an IUI with sperm wash and trigger, but not Clomid? Just curious.

@NYTino24 my LP is normally about 13 days. Progesterone on beta day last Friday was still 26.7 (on transfer day it was 34, 3 days later was 30). Progesterone on my beta days after IUI was only 5-6 so... Not sure if that means I should expect AF next week or what!

@NYTino24 any idea why you’re starting clomid on CD6? Just interested in different protocols, mine was 3-7! I hope all of your testing comes back great!

@NYTino24 Good luck with the testing and IUI cycle! I’ve done IUIs with trigger plus clomid and other cycles with trigger plus femara. But I’ve also heard of some people doing a natural cycle plus the IUI.

@b_1029 That’s what I’m wondering... I emailed the nurse and I’m picking up the Clomid in a few minutes so we will see the directions then. She said I’d start my cycle on Tuesday, whatever that means... I’m supposed to get another email with more exact protocol, but I think they close soon. I’m also wondering if I really need the Clomid. I’m ovulating pretty predictably with a decent follicle and good lining. I don’t want to end up overstimulated and having to cancel a cycle.

@NYTino24 gotcha! No one murder me on here but my clomid was through my OB and I wasn’t monitored so I have no idea what I was producing. FWIW I was only producing 1 follicle on 5mg of letrozole and I ovulate normally, so I hope you’re similar and don’t get overstimulated!

@NYTino24 It’s SO GREAT to hear all of the good news you got all at once—fast!
 I’ve done one IUI totally natural, and one IUI with an hCG trigger “chaser” to make “the womb environment most welcoming”. I’m doing my next IUI in a few hours and they said on the phone that if it’s too early we will do a trigger shot, but no mention of anything else like Clomid, Femara, etc.

@NYTino24 I had found this article while going through treatment. It basically states that in this (small) group of women with PCOS but have cycles, there was no statistical difference between taking it CD3-7 vs CD5-9 which would lead me to believe that CD6 wouldn’t change much either. And I would hope these results translate to women with other diagnoses.

@keikilove FX for you!!! How did it go yesterday?!

AFM - great news!! I have one follie on my right side that is perfect at 21mm and ready to go!!  The other follies that were nice sized on Wednesday didn't grow anymore, which the RE said is typical for Letrozole and exactly what we wanted since we only want one baby at a time!  My lining was also great at 7.8mm.  PHEW! What a sigh of relief!  Now we wait for the blood work to see if the IUI will be Sunday or Monday.  If the blood work shows we can wait until Monday then we will, since DH travels home early Sunday morning from Chicago (of course that's if everything goes according to plan the plane takes off on time). 

Only thing about a Monday IUI is that the nurse would do it, since the RE isn't in the office. He said he's totally fine with that as our chances of getting KU are exactly the same.  I'd rather him do it, of course, but he's completely right so if he's confident in it then I will be too.  Also, if Monday is the day then I'll need to tell DH he needs to "take care of himself" tonight or tomorrow since he's not home to HIO and since they don't want sperm to be held for more than 4 days (the last time we HIO was Wednesday night).

So many thoughts and feelings but honestly - I am just so happy and relieved that I am actually going to O this cycle and that we have a solid chance.  That was my goal this time around... but if getting KU happens too then I'd be ecstatic! 

I'll keep you all posted after the B/W comes back this afternoon with the exact game plan!

@kpearse99 That’s great news with your big growing follie! What a relief after last cycle’s mysteriousness! Crossing fingers with you that Monday is the day. Totally understand why you’d feel more comfortable w the doc doing it but I’m sure the nurse will do just as good a job as your doc promises. 

ETA disclaimer for below: TL;DR: AFM, the doc & nurse said the IUI went great. I myself have some lingering questions. Has anyone who did IUI experienced intense headache, abdominal bloating & painful cramping in the hours afterward? Thanks! 

ETA: I deleted the rest of the long drawn-out details because I’ve barely been present here this week & don’t need to shine the spotlight on me me me. I feel fine now so I think it was just a brief reaction to the trigger.

@keikilove I think I read part of a study once that compared success rates of IUIs when the trigger shot was done prior to the IUI or the day of. Apparently delaying the trigger shot gave slightly more success but I don't recall if that was a lining thing, or if it just made timing better with giving the sperm a head start before getting the egg released.

AFM, if you didn't notice I'm in the WTO thread! CD1 finally came! Got the call in and am just waiting to get called back by the nurses. I'm sure I'll be giving lots of blood soon.

@keikilove geez... what a day you had!! I can't believe your RE is that far away!!  It does sound like you had some side effect to the trigger - I read that that it can cause headaches but I have no experience with it (yet...soon will though) I'm sure they did the shot to 1) ensure you O and 2) help make it more "homey"

IUI is all set for Monday morning!! Woohooo!!!! Holy moly

I don't remember what she said my estrogen level was at but she said it's great and right where it should be.
Progesterone was at 0.2
LH was at 4.5

I'm to trigger Saturday night sometime between 6-8pm and our appointment is Monday at 8:30am.  I'm super bummed that DH isn't home until Sunday morning so there's not HIO tonight, like I would ideally want... instead I had to tell him he needed to "think of me and take care of himself" either today or tomorrow since the last time we HIO was Wednesday night and men can't go more than 4 days of holding in sperm before an IUI. He's not thrilled but it is what it is and we'll do what we gotta do.

I guess that would put our timing at -5, IUI (am & pm), +1....and maybe I can get a +2 in there (but that might be pushing it haha)

Quick question - are you supposed to take the Ovidrel out of the fridge like 30 minutes before giving yourself the injection to let it get to room temperature?  Is that safe to do, since you have to keep it refrigerated, and does it help cut down on the "burn" you might feel?

I confirmed that Clomid will start on CD6. They want me to wait for the genetic results on Monday and then do the BW and US in the morning on Tuesday just in case we decide to change the game plan. I don’t expect anything too crazy to come up, though, because we did the basic genetic testing about 3 years ago and everything was normal. Big week next week!

@kpearse99 I assume that’s the same as what I took (pregnyl)- I took it out of the fridge about 30 min before based on advice from a friend who did the shots for his wife. He said it was more comfortable for her that way so I just followed that- I can’t speak to if it actually is though because that’s the only way I’ve done it! I think it’s safe. The shot itself actually isn’t that bad, it hurts me more the next few days than it does going in- just do it slowly!

@NYTino24 lol it's gross, but less crampy than I expected.

I scheduled an SHG for next week Friday and will have the blood draws for testing. There's also a cervical swab for idk what. And I get to sit down with the RE to go over everything again. So hope next week goes by fast.

@NYTino24 oh yeah the whole fight on Sunday lol we've been busy a lot this week so there's not much time to make more of a mess or to clean. Our island has 2 dirty cutting boards now which is driving my anxiety a little crazy but whatever. I go in these cycles of being chill about trash around the house then I go crazy that he's messy. I don't remember when I mentioned it, but I suggested to DH that we should ask for a Roomba for Christmas because there's always debris in our kitchen and I don't know where it comes from but it ends up there. Give it some time, I'll be mad about it again later 😅

@kpearse99 I took my Ovidrel out about 30 minutes early to warm it up. Also, I always felt okay drinking the first week or so following the trigger. An at home test will show the trigger so you won’t know what’s going on then anyway and it won’t effect anything!

@NYTino24 I'm not sure how close I am to O. I'm on CD14 but I usually O between CD17-21.  I haven't been in the dailies since school started. It's so hard to keep up, I'm planning on sticking to this thread and TTCAL.

@inthewoods23 It sounds like you have such thorough tests and checkups coming up. I’m so hopeful for you; it sounds like your doctor really knows what to look for next in order to plan your next cycle. To answer your question: The RPL Testing is going to check for things that could cause implantation failure like blood-clotting disorders, autoimmune issues like lupus or other markers, elevated White Blood Cell Count (to see if you’re body Ian fighting infection), maybe thyroid stuff if your tests are super thorough. The cervical swab you mentioned could be used to check for hidden infections (no symptoms).

@misshelen86 So glad your appointment got scheduled! And then moved up! It will be here before you know it. To your question: by the time I met my current RE most of the testing had already been done as well. I brought all my records with me and she spent an hour reviewing with me. Then she made a preliminary plan. I hope yours can move forward quickly too.

Praying that means we can be BMB buddies too!!! ♥️🙏🏽♥️ As far as your question about your morning temps, that does definitely seem unusual. I’d talk to a Chinese Medicine doctor if you can. They can tell you what might need to be put back in balance if you’re warmer at night than during the day. Check out the Chinese Medicine book “The Infertility Cure”. That’s what led me to seek acupuncture. I will try to post some helpful info links for all of us. 

@bobbyflies2020 I’m sorry for what you went through with the surgery but THANK YOU for sharing the info about how common this issue is after c-section. I had no idea! I hope you’re feeling better this weekend. 

@shoogapoff So so sorry about the cancelled cycle. Praying your cyst goes away on it’s own & you can get back to the IUI next next cycle when you & YH are ready. It sounds like a great idea t take this next cycle off, no pressure. Regarding the acupuncture, my doc said to come once a week but we cant afford that with everything else right now so I did it several times and need to take off for a couple weeks. Will resume next week. 

@NYTino24 I’m so sorry about the rough week with the bfn AND the crazy long hours at work. I swear that no one understands the intense hours & pressure of being a teacher unless you are/have been a teacher. Hope you get some rest this weekend and very excited for you for next cycle’s IUI! 

@bluetickgal Here’s hoping your waiting is over so soon! That is one of the hardest parts of this whole crazy time, IMO.

I did it!! I did the trigger!! It wasn’t bad AT ALL!! 

They said to expect a bump, irritation and/bruising and to be sore the next day or so but I really don’t understand how 🤷🏻‍♀️ I felt nothing lol

AFM I am trying to mentally prepare myself for my first PIO injection tomorrow. I've watched these videos my clinic sent me a bunch of time and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a little scared. The needle is so huge!

@kpearse99 mine was fine going in but for the few days after it’s always like a pink raised blob / bruise. Hopefully there’s nothing for you! So excited for your IUI on Monday and I hope YH was able to do what he needed to do 😂

@hanshotfirst77 you can do it! Don't forget to warm up the oil in your hand and I felt that going slow and steady with the injection was easier than trying to push it in as fast as possible.

Like you, I was terrified to do them myself but ladies on here like @BusinessWife coached me through & had me believing I was a warrior who could do anything.😄 It worked! Like @inthewoods23 said, I actually found it much easier to go slow & steady instead of pushing it in like a dart. It only hurts a bit when entering the skin. After that moment you don’t feel anything as you push it in. Go slow with the oil as well. Massage and warm compress or warm water bottle after. You CAN do it, good luck!
