@catem07 - I’m right there with you on the worries about another kid in daycare. We seriously wondered if we should have another because we just bought a house and affording both a mortgage and another daycare expense is going to be tight. The daycare situation in the US is depressing. There has got to be a way to have affordable, quality care that also supports the staff well to avoid the turnover. Having to pay the equivalent of a college education every year is not realistic or sustainable for most families.
I also hated being pregnant the first time and am trying to enjoy it this time. We’ll see how that goes!
@catem07@lajoliedreamer +1 to having two in daycare. I can’t wait till DD can start public education. She’s an October baby, so we can start her in TK in the school year that she is 4 going on 5, but that’s still three more years away...
- EDD - May 12, 2020 - How you found out - I took a clear blue pregnancy test, thinking it would be negative, and it had a VERY faint blue line, I figured I was just going crazy, so I just threw it away. Then this morning I took First response because that very faint blue line was driving me insane. For my first 2, the line popped up immediately, even though I was very early, so today, the line didn't pop up right away so I thought I was in the clear, then I checked again right before leaving for work, and sure enough, there was a second pink line!! - Hobbies, Job, Etc. - My hobbies include diamond paintings and paint by numbers. I am a contract administrator - Spouse, Partner, Kids, or Furbabies - My husband and I have been together for 5 years, married for 2. We have 2 little boys, Nolan who is 3 and Paxton who just turned 1 in July. We also have 1 dog who is 6.5. - Anything you’d like us to know - I know this sounds crazy. But I really want to keep this a secret from my husband until I know the gender. I just ordered the sneek peek test, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep it a secret. I'm honestly not sure when I conceived because I breastfed my last son for 13.5 months (just stopped in August) and I got my first period since before I conceived him on August 6th, which was very light (normal for me) but longer than usual. Then on August 23, I started bleeding VERY heavy, which is completely abnormal, but I just chalked it up to my body getting back to normal after not having a cycle for so long. I am just hoping my husband doesn't start asking questions before I am able to take the test as I've been very moody LOL.
Hey everyone! So I previously joined the April moms page thinking I was farther along than I was but it looks like I caught this pregnancy very early and it's looking more like my EDD is going to be sometime in early May, we haven't gotten an exact date just yet. A little bit about myself; My hubby and I have been together for 7 years, married for 2. We have 1 dog and 2 cats currently. Hubby is in the Navy and I'm an EMT. Our next ultrasound is next Monday the 16th. On my last ultrasound they were able to see the gestational sac and yolk but no fetal pole yet. Not gonna lie a little nervous and hoping to see everything is okay with the baby on Monday. We found out right after I had finished a 20hr shift actually. I had to pee every 15 mins that day which I thought was super weird for me and I had an extra test and sure enough, it came back super faint! I then made hubby take me to the store at like 2am to buy more tests and took 7 more lol I'll be a new mom so I'm sure I'll be here with lots of questions about pregnancy throughout this wonderful journey! I look forward to all of us growing together
**TW** I'm hoping everything will be okay this will be our 3rd pregnancy and I'll be honest I've been a nervous wreck. we lost our first at 6 weeks and second at 11 weeks. Praying we get our rainbow baby!
Hi all! Im newish here! However just found got a BFP on Saturday and am ecstatic to be pregnant with my 4th! - EDD of May 12th and first OB set up for 10/2! I found out a day after my husband's birthday! First early test was negative and then I took one the next night and presented it to him as a belated birthday present! 😁
I have a almost 11 year old DD - I was barely 17 when she was born but she was the best thing that could've happen to me, an almost 8 year old DS both from my first marriage and my current husband and I have a DD that just turned 2! We have been together for 4 years and married 1!
We have been trying for a few month for a little sibling for "the baby" as we call her (even though she's two) and are so happy it has finally happened! I am a loan officer and my husband does Pavement marking for a Traffic company which is a busy summer job! He finds himself out of town a lot in the summer which is stressful but we manage.
I am pretty involved in my community and love volunteering! We have a 120 lb white German Shepard and an orange tabby cat! Needless to say we have a very very busy household!
I am so happy to be here! Best wishes for a healthy/happy pregnancy for all!
- EDD - May 24 (based offLMP) - How you found out - I'm a sucker for taking early tests, so I've been testing since 8 dpo. Today is day 10, and I took a cheapie at 4AM when my LO woke up. Looked negative, but checked it out at 8am and thought I saw a glimpse, so tried again and faint line was more obvious. I confirmed later w/ a FRER. I'm a bit in shock, and still haven't told DH (I will later tonight) - Hobbies, Job, Etc.- I live in New England. I'm an engineer by trade, but working in business development for aerospace metal 3d printing, so aka; I'm a giant nerd. My hobbies are home renovation & crafting. Hubby is a contractor, so we always have some sort of project going on! - Spouse, Partner, Kids, or Furbabies - 2 babes. DS1 is 3, DS2 will be 2 in Nov. Also have a goldendoodle furbaby who is going to be 6!
- Anything you’d like us to know - I was active in my 1st BMB (Aug16) and have met 3-4 of the girls in real life., I wasn't active in my 2nd, because I had a 15 month old and a newborn, an was out of my head overwhelmed by life. I lightly participated in TTGP over the last 2 months, and I'm excited to participate here!! Congrats all!
@mamaqdubu Yay!!!! Congratulations! I'm so happy to see you here! Also, I am pretty sure we've talked about this already, but just want to reiterate here that I am also a nerdy engineer who lives in New England and has a Goldendoodle.

Thanks to @jrouge12 I found my way here! I looked everywhere for this board and decided that the 1st Tri May 2020 thread was where I was supposed to be!
anywho.
My EDD is May 14 (DH’s Birthday!) How I found out: we went through one cycle of IVF and did a frozen embryo transfer. I found out via scheduled blood test last Thursday. Hobbies/Job/Ect: I am a nanny for 7 munchkins. I love to garden and craft, but my favorite hobby is napping 🤣 Spouse/Partner/Kids/Furbabies: My husband and I have been married for 8 years, and are high school sweethearts. We have two cats. Anything you’d like us to know: I’ve been around here off and on, I don’t even know what boards anymore as so much has changed, but since 2013. We have 5 frozen embryos left after this one, and I’m really hoping I can convince DH to use 4 of them 😬
Hi friends! I’m 36 STM, due May 15th. I work as a nurse in Boston. DH and I were college sweethearts, married for 7 years, together for 18. DD will be 2 in November. No fur babies at the moment, but I’m sure will be in the near future b/c DD is Obsessed. We found out before a cookout on Labor Day because I wanted to have a drink. Was 9dpo but had a feeling. I was an occasionally active member of the Nov17 BMB but looking to be more active here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone
Hi!! FTM and super excited to join the May 2020 club!
I’m currently 9 or 10 DPO, EDD according to online calculators is May 26. The TWW was killing me so I tested tonight and got my BFP.
I work in PR, and I’m actually in the final round of interviews for my dream job at a big tech company. We’ve been trying for almost 6 months and were actually going to take a break after this cycle so I could find out if I got the job, get settled in if I did, and try again early next year. Life is funny sometimes.
My hobbies change like everyday. I like to be creative but I’m not very good at it. I also really like watching Lifetime movies and TV shows about murder/serial killers/true crime.
Married 1 year next month! We have one adorable/cuddly/sometimes psycho cat.
Idk what else to add... we suffered a MC 2 years ago at 5 weeks. I already had a strong desire to be a mom ASAP, but after that, it just grew stronger.
I'm a stm after a loss and a vanishing twin in my son's pregnancy. My ds is 21 months. My dh and I live in louisiana. I am a full time graduate student, working on my masters in marriage and family therapy. I will graduate around my due date. This pregnancy was a very very welcomed surprise, we weren't planning to start trying until october/november and my previous pregnancies required medical assistance, so was definitely not expecting a positive today. I tested 4 days before my expected period, just for the heck of it. And immediately got a dark positive on a wondfo and then on a Walmart cheapie. Praying for this to be a stickie baby! Hobbies... well currently all I do is study. I used to love art, music, and writing. I am an intern counselor. I see mainly kids and teens, though I also work with adults and couples. I do lots of work with individuals with trauma. I love it!
Hi all! I'm 32 (33 next month), expecting #5, and frankly terrified. We were done having kids, but apparently sex makes babies (sometimes) so here we are... we were NTNP, but until the beginning of last month I was also still nursing my 3 year old daughter and that was doing a pretty fantastic job at preventing ovulation apparently. Oops. I'm currently working up the nerve to tell my husband because although we are both grown adults with many children and a firm grasp on how this all works... I don't know what he'll say and I'm nervous.
Incognito browser tab to keep my obsessive bumping out of my browser history FTW
- EDD (Estimated Due Date) May 1st ish
- How you found out I told myself (and my best friend) last week that if I still hadn't gotten my period by Friday (6th) I would get a test. Friday came, peed all over that stick and dammit my eggo is preggo.
- Hobbies, Job, Etc. All the creative things... ALL. OF. THEM. Heavy focus on fiber arts because they are generally portable and low tech. Crochet, knitting, weaving, spinning, fantasizing about owning big beautiful angora rabbits and a small flock of sheep one day....
I'm also taking an online Sociology course through my local college as my last credit needed for a high school diploma. (ONE CREDIT don't even get me started ...)
I'm also a trained birth doula and planning to take a workshop in November to expand into post partum doula support as well.
- Spouse, Partner, Kids, or Furbabies 1 spouse (34), 4 kids (DS13, DS8, DS5, DD3), and 1 furbaby-cat I've had going on 5 years.
Hi, this is my first post ever and I’m extremely nervous. I’m due 5/7 (I think). I found out from chronic POAS. I just need to stop testing now because the lines are dark. I have had several CP’s (last one in Jan 19). We have a 5 yr old son and 6 yr old Bernese mountain dog fur baby. I’m looking forward to our first doc appt on 9/30. Not doing betas this time. Trying to just take it 1 day at a time. I lead large IT projects and travel for work a lot. Any other plus size mamas out there?
Hi @knottieead5a8de0bbd003e I'm sorry about your losses! When you have a minute, please check out the "Knottie usernames" thread for instructions on how to change your username to something more recognizable. It will make interacting with you on here much easier.

Hey @randicap-2!! Fellow N17 mom, but I don’t recognize your username. Although after a lot of us moved to Facebook I immediately forgot everyone’s usernames and stopped using the bump 😂
@randicap-2 welcome! I'm in CT, so pretty close. I also have a Nov17 baby! I tried to get into the BMB, but they seemed to vanish to FB SO early and I didn't feel comfortable doing that yet. I'm really hoping people stick around here for a while!!
@mamaqdubu we moved in mid June that year to FB and most people were at least halfway 🤷🏼♀️ We’re all still active every day in the FB group and now on Marco Polo/a lot of us have become IRL friends now too, so I’m looking forward to hopefully building that same type of community here!
@kaitieb14 that's awesome! We did the same in my Aug16 group, but didn't move to FB until after our babes were born, that's why it felt so early to me. Definitely hoping to make lots of connections here this time around!
While I won't know for sure until my appointment next week, my EDD is May 8th
I work full time (as communications manager at a big company in town) and am a full time mom to my 2 year old son and very sassy Corgi. I've been married for 4 years and we have been trying for a few months and were about to stop for awhile because it is not fun to be super pregnant during south Texas summers! (My son was born at the end of July and decided to stay past his due date).
I found out when I went home during lunch to check on my husband who was home sick at the time and my Amazon package with my tests came in (because yes, I was too lazy to go to the store lol) so I thought why not try then. It was definitely hard to go back to work and focus after that! Hoping to have a smooth pregnancy and keep my luck of no morning sickness!
How you found out - I could tell a week before my period was due that something was up. Grabbed a First Response at Shoppers and bam, it was positive.
Hobbies, Job, Etc. - My hobby is dog rescue and cooking/trying out new recipes. I am also in the beginning stages of starting my own clothing company inspired by my son.
Spouse, Partner, Kids, or Furbabies - My husband and I have been together for 17 years, married for 9 this November. Our first baby is Guinness, our Bulldog, who will be 9 in January. Our son, Rowan, just turned 3 in August.
Anything you’d like us to know 🙂- I'll be 37 when this baby is born....and I'm from Canada. Hi to all my fellow Canucks if you are on here!
**TW - We had a loss in May at 8 weeks, so very nervous, but feeling positive this time!
On the day my period was due, I took an expired preg test strip I had left over from TTC my daughter over three years ago! I was pretty sure it was a faint positive, but I had to go out and get another test to make sure. Luckily it was nice and dark!
We had been planning to wait one more month before TTC our second baby, so it took a little time to sink in.
I have a 2.5 DD. I was sort of miserable during my first pregnancy, but I am going to try my best to enjoy this one! (Hoping the morning sickness stays away this time!)
Hi everyone, I'm very excited to be a part of the group.
EDD: May 16
This will be our first baby I am very excited yet very nervous. I was diagnosed at the beginning of the year with edno after lots of pain and no success concieving. I actually just had my first lap surg on August and as excited as I am was not expecting everything to happen so fast. I have my first doctor's appointment on Friday.
I have lost track of my cycle due to it being so irregular they last 6 months but knew I had to have been late. Took one test saw a very faint line but thought I was just seeing things. Since it was later in the day too one the next morning there was no denying it!!
My family consists of my fiancee and 3 crazy dogs. Luckily with 3 of them I work at a vet clinic!!!
I can't think of anything else I will try to get better with all the abbreviations but I think it may take some time .
I never thought I’d be back, but the blaring positive I got yesterday says otherwise. We have 3 kids, almost 4, 2 and 6 months ( ) and thought we were completely done (already started selling all my maternity clothes and tiny baby things but my H’s hesitation on a vasectomy and me putting off my IUD appointment has brought us here. I randomly took a test yesterday (at work, TERRIBLE idea) 100% sure it would be negative and it would put my mind at ease and it popped positive before I could even set it down. I’m still completely overwhelmed by the idea of having 4 kids (UNDER 4!) and everything that goes along with it (childcare, new car, sleeping arrangements etc) so it’s going to take a little while for it to really settle in. My husband was a total champ as I sobbed this all to him and is very excited for another baby, so we’ll be totally fine. EDD is 5/6 based on the literally one time we had sex in the last 2 months since he was on night shift and we didn’t see each other hardly at all.
He’s a police officer and I work in finance. I’m still close to moms in my other BMBs and am excited to get to know you all!
Hi everyone! I’m due May 13th with baby #3. I have a 3.5 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. DH and I are so excited! It took us 7 months to conceive. I work at a daycare part time with friends and I also have an Etsy shop I run from home making custom tumblers and decals (and some other fun stuff too!). I’m super close with my original BMB, D15, but not so much involved with the birth month board from my daughter. Hoping to have better luck in here! So far it’s going well, I’m nauseous quite a bit and I feel extremely hot ALL the time, but otherwise so far so good!
Brand new here, but i'm a TTGP'er and need a place to home

Hello everyone! So happy to part of this rad group of May mamas.
EDD (Estimated Due Date): May 7 2020
How you found out: I conceived via IVF so it was a phone call from my fertility clinic with my blood pregnancy test results. Nurse was on speaker phone and my husband and I literally started jumping and screaming 😝
Hobbies, Job, Etc.: Lover of all things art and culture!
Spouse, Partner, Kids, or Furbabies: Married 7 years with my husband, and have two brother grey tabbies 🐱🐱
Anything you’d like us to know: I had no idea conceiving would be so difficult, and in my case we ended up going the IVF route. After lots of tests, doctor visits, injections, and disappointments—it finally happened! I’m due for my first ultrasound this Saturday to make sure all is well. Would love to connect with other mamas who traveled the IVF road.
Hello! This is my second round on the bump and I’m so excited to be back!
- EDD (Estimated Due Date)- May 20th - How you found out - I was trying really hard to stop wasting tests and wait until my missed period, but couldn’t wait and POAS - the lines don’t lie! - Hobbies, Job, Etc. - I enjoy all things outdoor - camping, hiking, snowboarding, biking, etc. and I’m a high school English teacher, so I love reading! I also really like binging Netflix and watching movies. - Spouse, Partner, Kids, or furbabies? - married to a great guy, we have a 3.5 year old boy, and an 8 year old German Shepherd - Anything you’d like us to know I’m stoked to start this journey with a community and get to know you ladies!
- How you found out- I was late so I tested. We have 2 DDs and had talked about #3 but this was a bit of a surprise. **TW** loss
We had a 5 week loss and a ruptured ectopic before DD2.
- Hobbies, Job, Etc.- I am a program manager at a local nonprofit. For hobbies I enjoy long walks on the beach, reading and drinking delicious craft brews. Unfortunately with kids and being pregnant I don’t really partake in any of those things right now.
- Spouse, Partner, Kids, or Fur babies- We’ve been married for 6.5 years and have 2 DDs (5.5 and 2) and a cat. The cat almost died of kidney failure right after DD2 was born but now he’s doing great! His vet calls him the miracle cat and DH is counting down his days with us because he’s severely allergic.
- Anything you’d like us to know 🙂- I was on TTGP with #2 and met a great group of ladies mostly due around the same time who have become a fantastic mama support system! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Hey all!! Me EDD is 5/9/20. I found out 5 days before my missed period and felt great until two days ago. 🤢 This is my second pregnancy. We have a 2.5yo daughter and are ecstatic to add to our family!
Re: Introduce Yourself Here!
I also hated being pregnant the first time and am trying to enjoy it this time. We’ll see how that goes!

How you found out - I could tell a week before my period was due that something was up. Grabbed a First Response at Shoppers and bam, it was positive.

He’s a police officer and I work in finance. I’m still close to moms in my other BMBs and am excited to get to know you all!

- How you found out- I was late so I tested. We have 2 DDs and had talked about #3 but this was a bit of a surprise. **TW** loss
