What does a positive pregnancy test really look like??

First post after some lurking. Hope I'm doing everything according to TOU! Also on my phone so I'm not sure I have access to all the options.

Got my BFP this morning and took two more throughout the day to confirm haha. On Saturday I took an online cheapie that was negative. Wish I had gone for the expensive stuff sooner!

My last period started on 7/16 so I am completely clueless as to when I ovulated and conceived. I honestly thought I was out and waiting for AF to arrive after CD 60 or visit the doctor. Any thoughts based on the darkness of the FRER or not really a good way to judge?

@lisush at this point, you shouldn’t even be taking these tests. They will get lighter at this point in pregnancy if I’m not mistaken. My lmp was 7/6, so I’m 9w2d pregnant. I haven’t taken a test since the first week of August. I would suggest calling your doctor.

@ejoseph16 Thanks for the response! I have an appointment with my OB/GYN already scheduled for Tuesday, so I'll probably just wait for that. But I'll give them a call today anyway =).

I have actually been taking pregnancy tests pretty consistently since early August and this is the first time I've gotten a positive! So either the ones I was using were REALLY really bad (possible) or I ovulated very late, or both.

Okay ladies, help me. I got this result on Sunday morning after sleeping for like ten hours so VERY concentrated pee. However, the next two days I saw nothing on tests. I had a blood test today and am awaiting results but I just thought I’d see what “the experts” have to say. I got this result immediately after peeing on the test and there was some color to it.

I don't care how hard you think you can squint and see a 2nd line. When the control line is THAT dark, that's a negative, for sure.

I mean, I see *something* but it’s hard to tell if that’s a positive or an evap. But if you got negatives the following 2 days, I doubt you are pregnant, as the line would’ve gotten darker, not disappeared.
  • Options
Wow, okay. You don’t need to be rude. I’ve just never had this happen before and was looking for advice.
  • Options
No, I actually didn’t get my hopes up. I wasn’t even planning on getting pregnant but someone saying “I don’t care how hard you squint” is rude and uncalled for. All she had to say was “negative”

@brookert615 how interesting that cheapies and CB digitals were saying negative at 10 DPO. Sorry the office was rude about your beta. Hope the 2nd trimester is treating you kindly so far!

    Edited to fix typo.

@brookert615 mine didn’t turn positive until 12DPO this pregnancy! Maybe delayed is a good sign? Lol

@themadcamel Right! I did learn that the CB digitalis aren’t as sensitive! Thanks girl! I hope all is well with you!!! ❤️

Apparently I didn’t believe the first two, which were generic brands, so I went back for the Clear Blue! I haven’t had an ultrasound yet and some days I still don’t believe that it’s true. First pregnancy, so I’m not too sure what’s normal. This app has been helpful!
my partners sister is an OB, so she will be extremely helpful when we tell everyone at the end of December.
Wait, what was the question again?

Hi ladies,  I hoping to get your feedback...is this a BFP to you?  I used FMU, but I only held it for 3.5 hours though 😕
Honesty please, I just don't want to kid myself. I'll be testing again this evening or tomorrow morning.

Hi @mahogannie I’ve been thinking about you. *TW* I’d assume this means the last pregnancy was a loss. Which puts you at only three weeks post MC. Did your doctor follow your HCG levels down to zero?

@mahogannie I believe that test looks positive. Seeing the other response leads me to believe you recently had a loss three weeks ago? It is possible to conceive again that quickly, but I wouldn't trust it unless you had seen a negative pregnancy test before now, or you doc was able to confirm your hcg down to zero.

I would be concerned about my previous loss in October, but I've been poas since CD17 (opk was low, then went high for several days straight, but no peak. I wanted to see if hcg was causing it) Then on CD 20 and CD 21 I got clear BFNs.
It is a possibility that the loss is a factor...I plan to poas every other day to see if it darkens.  I saw that faint BFP today.

Kiki75 -Thank you for thinking about me 💕

    Here's a progression pic:

@mahogannie I see a line on the first. I'm sorry for your previous loss. I'd say see what a FMU test 24-hours after the first looks like. It should darken (but also could not and it still means you're pregnant). FX for you.
  • Options
Well, another faint line today.  I went in to my doctor's to get an HCG Quant.  My level was at an 8, so apparently you can get negative and positive pregnancy test as your levels decrease after a miscarriage.  I'll be back to ttc once my levels get to zero again.  Thank you ladies for your thoughts and support.

For those who use internet cheapies...did any of your Wondfo's have evap lines? I am 7dp5dt (fresh transfer on 11/20) and both my blasts were VERY early blasts so likely didn't implant for 1-2 days later. I took the top test with a 2hour hold yesterday afternoon after drinking water and then the bottom one this morning with second morning pee (I was planning on waiting, but the itch to POAS got the best of me). I will be taking an FRER on Friday morning, but for now...indulge me with your thoughts on these (both pics are the same two strips, just one on my counter and one against a pink FRER box):

@ladyp0tter my wondfo looked very similar to yours when I was only 8dpo... keep up with your SMU and see if they get darker. I also went and bought dollar tree cheapies to confirm because it was my first time with wondfo. Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks ladies. Here is my FRER with FMU...which I also thought if I am getting anything on Wondfo's I'd get a for sure line on FRER but it is just as light in my opinion. I can't tell if it is an evap or not (it's a bit ghosty but if I hold it up to something pink It kinda looks pink)...Didn't think FRER got evaps but I guess I have read some people do. sigh....I will be buying some more today and take another tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will be darker or at least obvious.
