I know this probably sounds like a dumb question. But hubby and I have been trying to get pregnant (on our own) for about a year. For the last two months, I’ve been taking clomid and my period was due today but I don’t feel pregnant. Has clomid worked for any of you all? If it has, how long has it taken? And if not, what he worked for you in the past? I’m 32, and I feel like time is ticking. Not to mention my kiddo is already 7, I really don’t want him to be 10 years older than a sibling. Please give me advice if you can. Thank you in advance!

It’s not a dumb question, but it doesn’t go here. We’re all trying to get pregnant. Did you take a test? If you aren’t pregnant, read the newbie guide at the top of the page and intro on the newbie thread so that we can get to know you. If you test and it’s a positive, you can move on to your Birth Month Board, no need to update here!

You should definitely talk to your doctor. If you are taking Clomid, you should already be working closely with your doctor, so just call and ask whatever questions you have. FWIW, I have PCOS and am generally anovulatory. Clomid has allowed me to successfully ovulate. Not sure how it works if you ovulate on your own, though.
For future reference, we don’t do one off posts on these boards. If you aren’t KU, you should intro and ask your questions in the appropriate threads. Please also note that this is a community of women trying to get pregnant. Many have never been pregnant, so they aren’t going to be able to tell you about your odds of success.
Go buy a pregnancy test? If you’re KU, move on to your BMB, we don’t need to be updated.

Yup, I'm with @misshelen86 , I sure feel old now. This is the kind of thing a doctor needs to look into, as everyone else stated. Not the sort of thing just to ask as you're flying by.
Look... this is my first time being on here, first post, and when I had this app before with my son, everyone was so helpful and nice. Not rude. I didn’t mean to offend anyone! Honest! I’ve had multiple miscarriages and been through the ringer. I was only asking for help. Stop being so awful towards others! I’ve seen several threads like this! And if I’m saying “could I be pregnant?” That doesn’t mean I’m pregnant! I’m almost certain that I’m not. Im really not understanding where I’m supposed to fit in or if this app is even going to be helpful for me. Thanks for being so cruel and nasty!

OP you need to chill out. You were pointed where to go. Intro in the introductions thread for the week. You're taking clomid, a specialty drug that you can only take for 6 cycles and MUST be closely monitored by an RE. You would have gotten very SPECIFIC instructions from your RE on that medication for YOUR diagnosis, so if you're confused or concerned you need to call your RE's office to clarify. We cannot help you with this. At all. All we can say is what was said above, "Take a test" and if it's negative and you still don't get AF, then in a few days, "take another test" until either you get a BFP or AF. If concerned, call your doctor. We literally have no other advice for you at this time.
Also, we don't know you. We don't know that you've been through the ringer because you literally have never introduced yourself or joined in to any thread on TTGP whatsoever. We have NO idea who you are... and likewise, you don't know us. So don't be going on about how difficult your life is... I've had 5 MC too and I don't have a living child. So take THAT into consideration.
And asking if you "could be pregnant" even in a roundabout way IS against the TOU and they CAN (and do) close threads for that and give warnings for that type of behavior around here. That's not us being mean, that's an admin thing!!!!!
Actually..... he prescribed it, I’ve never seen this dr before, I just know I wanted to get pregnant. He didn’t diagnose me. With anything. Just said I’m “probably not ovulating” so... there’s no monitoring or anything... apparently he’s doing this wrong
Holy CRAP is he doing it wrong! Go see an RE ASAP and do NOT go back to whomever you saw. Clomid is a dangerous medication that is supposed to only be used for a MAX of 6 cycles ever. You're supposed to be closely monitored to ensure you don't have too many follicles/eggs, and oftentimes there's trigger shots and stuff involved.
Also, I know it's difficult, but you have to find a way to not be so 'desperate' to get PG. It will either happen or not happen in it's own time... there's really not a darned thing you can do about it besides seek expert medical advice and DTD at the right time. Being overly stressed about trying to be PG RIGHT NOW is not going to help you or the situation at all, and will only make you more upset with each negative test you have... And trust me... the ability to have this patience is hard as hell to come by...

Listen, we all want to get (and stay) pregnant. If you lurked, you’d see women in the IF (infertility) thread taking Clomid. WTO, too. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t take meds without a diagnosis. You’ve gotten some nice answers, so maybe consider apologizing for your not so nice comments and we can all move along.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Did he do any testing to confirm you're not actually ovulating?
Are you temping or using OPKs?

Actually actually Ms. better than you... I saw the names of the post. I didn’t open and read the threads. THIS is why I mean by rude mean and nasty ladies. THIS kind of thing!
Yes @inthewoods23 I am using OPKs and no he didn’t monitor to see if air wasn’t ovulating. He had an US done and said my uterine lining is way thicker than the average person. He said I’m probably not ovulating at all, put me on the Clomid for 6 months, said that if I’m not pregnant by then they would look at Hubby.

*lurking* but feel the need to contribute. I was part of this community starting in January. These women are phenomenally supportive to one another, and fiercely protective. If you lurked long enough before posting this, you should have read the page rules.
I’m working on figuring out how you know that they were rude and cruel to others without reading the threads, but simply seeing their screen names? I may not be a detective, but that doesn’t make much sense...

You came here asking for opinions, and that is what you got. Here’s one that someone already mentioned: your doctor sounds irresponsible and borderline dangerous. You said you had never met him before so he has no medical history on you. Clomid is not some magic wand you can wave and *poof* you’ll get pregnant. It’s a serious drug that can leave permanent, lasting effects and/or damage if not used correctly in a monitored setting under careful supervision. That doesn’t sound at all like the case here.
So you came here looking for help. Maybe listen to some of the experienced, supportive, knowledgeable women here and go see a real doctor.

@dpchickens thank you for your kind understanding response. I am sorry for anything that I have said that has pissed everyone off, but I’m new to this. I figured that “trying to get pregnant” would be the perfect place for someone who is “trying to get pregnant” so everyone else please pardon my confusion...... no I didn’t “lurk” anywhere else, this is the first place I went to because well... I want to get pregnant... GEEZ some of you girls jump to conclusions and are so bitter. No offense but nothing that is happening with you is MY fault, I’m just here to ask questions and look for support, like others.. or so I thought...
@dumbledoredies.... what is your problem. I’m new to this page... hell im new to this app. Miss me with that “lurking” BS.. I have better things to do with my time than lurk. I got on, “trying to get pregnant” was the first group I tried to join because it was the only one that made sense...... and I saw all kinds of similar posts (by name *rolling my eyes*) so I thought this was the place I was supposed to be. Still am not clear where it is that I’m supposed to ask these questions... I wouldn’t be asking them if I were pregnant... 🤔
@NYTino24 I don’t feel that I owe anyone an apology. My goodness! I have been thrown under the bus enough first thing this morning! Where am I supposed to ask these questions if I’m not yet pregnant but I’m trying to get that way???
We get a LOT of drive-by people who try to use us like google. They show up, oftentimes wave their pee stick with their positive results in our faces or as inane questions and want an answer RIGHT NOW and then high-tail it out of here. We are NOT google. We are a community. We like new members, but we ask people to respect the rules. It may seem like no big deal when you're here for one day or a few months... but when you've been here for over 4 years... it gets to be A LOT.
@mercury94 thank you for your response. I didn’t exactly know where I should post about trying to get pregnant so I thought “trying to get pregnant” would have been the right group of ladies to talk with 🤷🏼♀️

Calling people bitter and all sorts of other names isn’t going to get you support here. Who have you given support to on this board?

@misshelen86@mindyb2019 and @ottergirl81... I didn’t mean to offend you all or anyone! And none of that is MY fault... Im sorry if I upset you all... I sure didn’t mean to. Gosh. I only wanted help like I’m pretty sure most of these women do.
And to everyone else.... I am not pregnant. I tested about a week ago, negative and then tested again this morning... not pregnant. So... I guess you all are happy now???? I dread even taking a test, because I know it’s going to be negative, but we want one so bad that Hubby talks me into testing because we want that positive so bad. Be understanding ladies. I’m a very sweet, understanding person and would help anyone in ANY thread if I knew answers.

...Why would we be happy you’re not pregnant? If you knew us at all, you’d know we don’t roll like that. I’m pretty sure everyone on here is dying for a positive test...
@NYTino24 yeah... I think it’s pretty rude to call someone a lurker or make comments that make it seem like I intentionally posted in here when I didn’t know where in the heck I was supposed to post! And did that comment you just responded to say your name at all????? Nope... didn’t think so. I was apologizing to those ladies for offending them by my ORIGINAL post which was not intended to offend anyone. I will not apologize for posting what I have posted to anyone who has jumped to conclusions about me. Thank you! ☺️ I hope you have a LOVELY day.
@knottie4fb0de13892d613c Go back, read the posts that say "read this first", make your name something more personal, read through some of the dailies (get an idea of the community) and join in. You'll get a lot of support from women in the same boat as you. Everyone here dreads testing and has seen enough BFNs as well. But either say "my bad" and join in or move on.

You're SUPPOSED to lurk. And the fact that you don't know that, means that you haven't spent the time to figure out the rules and guidelines of this board.
I think you were given a lot of really good advice for board usage and about your doctor/medical treatment... or maybe lack of medical treatment. But you're choosing to ignore all the help, so I'm not sure what you actually came to this board for. We're here to give help and support, your doctor should be able to answer your "am I pregnant?" question.
@knottie4fb0de13892d613c You mentioned that your doc put you on Clomid BEFORE having your H tested? That is definitely not right. You could potentially be pumping your body with a very serious drug for zero reason. As others have mentioned, get yourself into an RE, get your H tested and hopefully get yourself the right plan to move forward and hopefully get knocked up.
As for the board, there are several posts on how to proceed with that. These ladies are some of the most knowledgeable and supportive around. Get to know them and you will be happy that you did. The snark is part of the package though.
@knottie4fb0de13892d613c - You may need to update your username on the desktop site, not the mobile app. That's what I had to do, anyway. And FWIW, the impassioned answers you received regarding your Clomid use is coming from a place of concern and caution. Medical malpractice is rampant, even in the OB/GYN field, and can cause painful, often irreversible side effects. If you're having trouble TTC, then your doctor should have (instead of throwing an Rx for Clomid at you based on one ultrasound) referred you to a reproductive endocrinologist (RE) for 1) a second opinion, and 2) a full panel workup and a diagnostic history of you AND your partner. Your doctor, quite frankly, sounds like a hack. Run fast, run far away from them.

Lurked enough to see other people post one off threads and have the board explained and yet still posted a one off thread 🤦♀️
I’m working on figuring out how you know that they were rude and cruel to others without reading the threads, but simply seeing their screen names? I may not be a detective, but that doesn’t make much sense...
So you came here looking for help. Maybe listen to some of the experienced, supportive, knowledgeable women here and go see a real doctor.
