Just wanted to say hi and happy so far everyone has good news,I think most of us have had one or more failed transfers. But that doesn't mean we should give up or stop trying.I have read a few IVF books and they all say IVF will work maybe not the first time or the fifth time but it is the couples who stop trying that don't succeed. It is harder when you are full of hormones and get bad news, for me it got easier as time went on.Right after your transfer fails you think"what next" but it is easier to start focusing on the next step, instead of focusing on the present pain.IVF works that is why we are all doing it.
@bv8952 I agree with you. So many highs and lows but persevering is the only way to have success. The ladies that get pregnant on their first cycle are so lucky and blessed, but few and far between. I think we will all appreciate our babies even more for everything we’ve been through.
@bv8952 it’s true that it usually works when you persevere. After my last transfer failed I didn’t know if I wanted to do another because of how expensive it is (our insurance doesn’t cover any part of IVF). I just couldn’t fathom going through this whole expensive emotional process again for it to not work. We were lucky enough to get some financial help from DH’s parents this time though otherwise I don’t know when or if we would’ve been able to swing it.
Not a day goes by that I don’t squeal with happiness that I have my daughter from FET #1. I’m definitely the sappy parent who smooches her kid way too much

Yes money is one of the many reasons couples don't contiune there IVF journey. It took us 1.5 years to finally decide after 3 different clinics told us the same thing that we would do and pay whatever it took.I would borrow, take a loan out ,make payments, switch jobs for better insurance whatever it would take. The first fresh cycle is normally the most expensive. Our insurance pays for nothing related to IVF but we make it work somehow.Try to enjoy the time we have together as a couple without children,After almost 10 years of marraige it is one of the hardest things we have been through as a couple, but it will all be worth it in the end, whenever the end is.I understand if you might feel bad posting about IVF if you are trying for your next child but don't feel bad,it is a good thing..I am happy for every couple who has had children.Moral of the story..Dont ever give up..Stay Strong..Take one day at a time and think positive. All the heartache and tears is worth it..♡♡☆☆
I am so nervous now. My lining was at 7.4 yesterday and my doctor gave the ok to start progesterone today and transfer Tuesday but now I'm reading from some ladies on Reddit that 9 is better. Anyone had success with lining at 7.4 day before progesterone?

@mrsjones91716 - my doctor said anything over 8, and you will definitely be there by next Tuesday! They even told me its more about the "look" and not soo much about the thickness because it can actually get toooo thick and mushy for it to work too. @mrsjones91716 7.4 is just fine! My dr shoots for anything over 7. I was at 8 mm exactly so not that much more than you and I’ve been getting BFPs on HPTs the last 3 days. You’ll likely be at 8 mm by the time of your FET!
FET Update: Today's FET was delayed til 8/1...they wanted my lining a little thicker than the 6.3 they saw last week. Today's US showed us at 7.3, so they've scheduled my FET for 8/1. Progesterone supps 3x day, plus PIO and estrace pills...it was nice having the month of no meds while it lasted but I'm super excited for next week! Any pre-FET transfer tips?
Thanks for all the reassurance everyone! @covergirl2985, our situations are so similar! That happened to me too almost exactly. Excited for everyone that already has a positive and those of us getting ready for transfer!

Glad your FET is scheduled @covergirl2985! Any lining over 7 is good!
Thank you @italianmommy8! So excited that your transfer is soon! I have a really good feeling about this one for you. After everything you just went through I KNOW this time you’ll get your miracle.

@wifeinraleigh28 congratulations and try not to stress! That's a nice dark line. I tested every day starting 5 dpt after the FET that resulted in DD, and the test line never got as dark as the control line. Looking back at my pictures, I got positives starting on day 5, but by day 10 the line was never as dark as yours is on day 8.
Thank you @LauraJon2015! How are you holding up? When is your ultrasound? I remember with my first FET that the wait from 2nd beta until 1st ultrasound was longer and so much harder than the wait until beta!

@wifeinraleigh28 my ultrasound is on 8/2 (literally the soonest my clinic allows). I was so nervous about MC I had them do 4 beta tests, and all were in normal range, so that’s good! @LauraJon2015 8/2 is so soon! How far along will that be? I’m pretty sure I remember my clinic won’t do them before 7 weeks so I’ll probably have to wait 3 weeks after my beta

@LauraJon2015 eek the 2nd is so close! I can’t wait to hear how your appointment goes. I’m sure this week will drag by a little for you too.
AFM my first US in on the 5th. I only had two betas so I’m a little anxious about going back in after 2 weeks of no updates, but trying really hard to trust everything is ok.
Totally unrelated to appointments, my husband and I got in a huge fight about me taking three months maternity leave - I lost my mind yelling and getting really upset. Now I can’t shake the guilt of letting myself get so upset and stressed and I’m so scared I could have hurt the baby. Can anyone else relate or help me feel like less of a terrible future mom? 😖😖😖
@akak23 Thanks for the reassurance! As for your fight with your husband, it absolutely did NOT affect your little bean. They are extremely resilient and can withstand way worse than that. It always amazes me though how early we start to feel the mom guilt. It's important to constantly remind ourselves of all the things we are doing well for our little ones. Just out of curiosity, how long of a mat leave does your husband think is reasonable? I took 3 months with my 1st and it didn't feel long enough. Mat leave in the US is a joke (no way am I trying to get into a political debate here).
AFM beta is tomorrow morning and I'm so ready for it! I've been taking HPTs every morning and they are getting darker. I'm starting to get really excited for this little guy to join our family and it's difficult to keep that excitement in check!

@wifeinraleigh28 I think with those lines you’re probably good with enjoying the excitement!!
I own my own business and he thinks I’ll be able to start working part time again immediately! Like ZERO days of maternity leave. I know he just has no clue about what having a newborn is like, but it’s so hurtful that he assumes something so stupid in my opinion. Furthermore - he makes a lot of money and we don’t even use the money I earn to pay our bills. I’ve been working since I was 11, I’ve already saved enough money this year alone to cover my 3 months off (since I don’t work for someone I need to be able to pay myself essentially). I’m not lazy, never been lazy, and I just feel like he thinks once we have the baby I’m going to turn into a lazy person. I am at such a loss as to where to go from here. And I agree with you, 3 months maternity leave is nowhere close to enough.
Sorry everyone I know this probably isn’t the place for me to vent about maternity leave and my husband - but I don’t want to share all this with friends who don’t even know I’m pregnant yet.
@akak23 This is a really good place to vent so vent away! Speaking from experience (and I know most moms would agree), maternity leave is anything BUT a relaxing vacation. You are basically working 24/7 to keep a tiny human alive who can't do a THING for him/herself. You are sleep deprived. You are emotional (hello hormones and extreme life change). There's a reason maternity leave exists in the first place. Even in our country where it often isn't even paid, it's still a required thing to give because it is understood that moms (dads/partners too but that's a whole other debate) need that time at home to adjust to the change in their family. It took me about a month of being at my baby's beck and call just to really get into a good breastfeeding groove. There's no way I could have been working while trying to figure that piece out! And even once I figured that part out, there were about a billion other things to figure out. I definitely feel like I needed 6 months to a year at home but I made it work after 3 months. Side note: I had a C section (unplanned) and I wasn't even completely out of pain for a little more than a month. Being sleep deprived seriously slows down your body's ability to heal.
I'm sure he'll come around... especially after your baby arrives and he realizes just how much work they are.
I don't mean to make having a baby sound bad! It is WONDERFUL or I wouldn't be trying to do it again. But the first few months are hard! Worth it, but hard!

Want to chime in about Maternity leave. In Switzerland where I live you get paid 80% of your salary for a minimum of 14 weeks but mostly everyone takes 6 months off.It is time to bond with your child and get use to your new life with a new baby who is helpless and needs everything done for them. The first 6 weeks you are sleepless so I would say at the bare minimum 3 months off and if you have to work just part time at first. Also in Switzerland dad's get 2 days off paid but they are changing the laws that every father gets 2 weeks paid off to also bind with there children without having to take away from there vacation time.I understand most families can afford to take so much time off but after everything you go through just for IVF you deserve this time and you want to be with child. You baby is only small once so do what makes you happy.
@wifeinraleigh28 ah I appreciate you so much! Thank you for sharing your experience with your little one, its nice to hear the confirmation that working is just not possible right away. And even if I could I don’t want to, I want to be with our little guy as much as I possibly can, this is my dream.
@bv8952 wow that’s so amazing about Switzerland. I wish the USA culture was more pro-maternity and paternity leave. You can always make money, you can’t always spend time with your baby. Thank you for sharing
How did your transfer go today @nancinator? Sticky vibes to you!
How are all the other ladies doing who've gotten BFPs so far? Hoping for positive vibes all around (I actually don't even think we've seen a single BFN on this board yet, am I right?)

Pee stick progression photo in spoiler...

Help! I've never done progression photos like this because for FET #1 I waited for beta and FET #2 was a BFN so... I'm hoping this looks okay? I feel like I can definitely see the progression on the easy@home tests but I thought I'd get a darker line on FRER today (8dpt). Maybe I'm just driving myself crazy! Monday can't get here soon enough!

@bv8952 That's one heck of a beta! Which I guess makes sense considering you're 16dpt but still, amazing!!! Congrats girl!!

@LauraJon2015 8/2 is so soon! How far along will that be? I’m pretty sure I remember my clinic won’t do them before 7 weeks so I’ll probably have to wait 3 weeks after my beta

@bv8952 congrats! HUGE beta!!
AFM beta is tomorrow morning and I'm so ready for it! I've been taking HPTs every morning and they are getting darker. I'm starting to get really excited for this little guy to join our family and it's difficult to keep that excitement in check!

I own my own business and he thinks I’ll be able to start working part time again immediately! Like ZERO days of maternity leave. I know he just has no clue about what having a newborn is like, but it’s so hurtful that he assumes something so stupid in my
opinion.
I'm sure he'll come around... especially after your baby arrives and he realizes just how much work they are.
I don't mean to make having a baby sound bad! It is WONDERFUL or I wouldn't be trying to do it again. But the first few months are hard! Worth it, but hard!

nice to hear the confirmation that working is just not possible right away.
How are all the other ladies doing who've gotten BFPs so far? Hoping for positive vibes all around (I actually don't even think we've seen a single BFN on this board yet, am I right?)
AFM I have my beta in the morning. This is the first time I'm going into a beta expecting it to be positive. But still, the anxiety is creeping in. Those numbers hold the truth!
