My baby is kicking and punching and it's making my stomach feel upset and my bladder feel like I have to be pee when I just did. Usually I like feeling him, but come ooonnnnn. Relax.
My H reported that DS2 has been a cranky mess the last two days. I looked in his mouth, and not only does he have a molar that’s partially erupted, he has another coming in. Poor boy is an easy teether normally (thank you, teething necklace!), but these ones are really bothering him. A little Advil, and he’s back to his happy self.
I have two two more days of out of town inspections this week, and then I’m down to ones within a 10 mile radius of home. Hallelujah!
@stephanie123456 Oh gosh! Did you pass out because of the blood draw or the glucose test? Hope your results are ok. I am dreading doing that test again.
I keep trying to pop in to check up but it’s hard with a toddler, work and working on a move. Our weekend was full of furniture shopping and bed shopping as we are upgrading to a king size bed. I can’t wait for a bigger bed! I packed 4 boxes while DS napped and managed to create a pile of things to get rid of before the big move. Baby steps right?
DS2's birthday was great! He totally rallied from his little stomach bug on Monday and was just the cutest with all the candles and singing we did yesterday (breakfast, cupcakes at school, and after dinner--I'm a little obsessed with celebrating my kids birthdays ). NOW... the wait is on for my sister's baby. Today is EDD and we all wondered if the baby would share a bday with her cousin. @stephanie123456 I'm so sorry you passed out, but glad you're ok! Crossed fingers that you pass the glucose test. Did you end up fasting before?
PSA for those looking for crib sheets, bedding sets, changing pad covers, nursery decor, etc: I discovered the Carousel Designs website last night and spiraled for way too long looking at adorable baby decor. I eventually realized they'll send you 10 free fabric swatches of your choice, so I have 10 fabric swatches coming my way!
Hey ladies, I've been lurky-looing and love titting only for too long.
My bit of news: I was just invited to give a presentation for our firm's biggest client at the end of next month. I'm so nervous and happy about it. It'll mean that I have to fly to their home office rather than flying home after our FL baby shower, but it'll be worth it. ... Now time to find the maternity perfect suit.
Glucose test taken. Urgh. Lufthansa wants a Drs note for flying between 28 and 36 weeks so I need to see my Dr in 2 weeks instead of the usual 4 because she'll be on vacation after that. Fun!

There are so many cute maternity office looks out there but I just can't justify buying them.
Although I do have an important presentation July 11th...hmmm.
@marbellie Congrats!! That's so exciting!! You'll do great.
Nothing really going on for me today -- super busy day at work yesterday and hoping for the same today because it makes the time fly by! Although I would also love some downtime to read my book-- anyone else read Where The Crawdads Sing? I'm about 3/4 of the way through it and I am obsessed.
@grapeskittles4lyfe I’ll also be flying with Lufthansa after 28 weeks. Did you print of the pdf from their website or are you planning to have the doctor write their own note?
Brief check in today! I'm in an AP Physics training this week and it's making me really excited and terrified for the fall. Super excited to get back in with my students and have some fun with the labs and content, but terrified that I won't be able to keep up and about how my mat leave will go. Plus, my calculus understanding is absolutely abysmal right now, so that's causing me some extra heartburn. 6 more weeks to prepare!

Good luck! AP calc was my favorite class in HS. I didn’t get to take physics, though I kinda wish I did.
Thanks everyone! I will try to kick butt and ignore the baby kicks throughout
@steminist good luck! How long of a leave do you have? @grapeskittles4lyfe is there a particular store with office maternity wear that you've preferred?
@marbellie Good luck on your presentation! I am sure you’ll do great!!
@steminist Kudos to you! I loathed calculus when I took it — then finally had a good professor who could explain it well and it made all the difference!
I really want another coffee but will probably go over my daily allow to if I get another. I really miss not having to tabulate my caffeine consumption.
@marbellie 12 weeks, officially, thanks to FMLA protections, but the weeks the school is closed won't count, so it will actually come out to 15 when you factor in US Thanksgiving and the winter holidays.
@galentine Thank you girl! I should have taken the rest of the day off because I was just so darn tired afterward. But I'm trying to save all my PTO days to use for maternity leave.
@sweetteaandswingsmama I got the Chicco travel system with my DS. Loved the car seat but I hated the stroller (for the record, it was the "cortina"). But the Bravo looks muccccchhhh better.
@geminigirl16 Thank you! I think it was a combination of both. I did "fast" (just didn't eat anything in the morning) but also she had to dig into my arm to get the needle to a good spot (made two lovely bruises in the crook of my elbow as well). I was just worried that they wouldn't get enough blood and I would need to retake the test. TBH, the drink wasn't as bad as I remember (I think with Kaiser, they didn't refrigerate their drinks and with this PG, they let me take it home and told me to put it in the fridge and get it nice and cold before-hand as it makes it more bearable). Also, yay for getting stuff done this weekend. Were they able to deliver your new bed? King-size beds are a necessity (in my opinion)!!
@junebabyh Poor baby! But what a little trooper. And GL for your sister. Is it her first baby? Hoping for a safe delivery and a healthy & happy mama and baby!!
@marbellie Yay!! That's such great news. Where are you currently looking for maternity suits?

@SLou24 yes!! I listened to it on audible. So good. I explained it to my DH and it was way more confusing in my retelling. I should look into other books by that author.
@stephanie123456 It's her second. She has a DD who is 3.5 and is having another girl. So she has all the girls and I have all the boys! Thanks for the well wishes though. So exciting that we'll have a new baby in the family momentarily!!!
I "yelled" at a coworker the other day because he was maybe the 3rd person to talk about milkshakes in front of me. Today he he did it again and I politely told him to STFU. And then a milkshake magically appeared at my desk. My heartburn is really loving the relief but I'm sure I'll pay for it tonight....
@stephanie123456 I wish I could share him! Though I don't know how he'd feel about being referred to as a fairy 😂. Its vanilla and from a local ice cream shop (I'm pretty sure because it tastes better then McDs and the icecream place is 2 buildings down).
@prpl11butterfly Yummy!! Those are always the best when they come from a ice cream shop versus fast food place (however, I will drink any one of them that comes my way).

I am so tired 💤💤 I didn’t get home until after 6 last night and 5:30 tonight. My normal day is 8-4, and I started at 7:30 today. I’m hoping tomorrow isn’t so long 💤💤

Exactly my hours today! I’m dead. Work is so insane for me right now 😴😴😴😴
@marbellie Congrats!! That's so exciting!! You'll do great.

I LOVED that book! I recommend it to everyone because I loved it so much. There was something magical about it that just really reached my heart. I’m planning to read it again during maternity leave!
@marbellie That looks like a house finch nest. We had one in our hanging plant on the porch for the second year straight. I got to watch the babies hatch and grow, and fly out over the last few weeks. It was amazing! Was hell on the plant though. 😂
@marbellie how exciting!! I’ve had cardinal do that in my hanging baskets the last couple of years! I end up letting the flowers die because I didn’t want to disturb the eggs.... I purposely put my basket up late this year so they couldn’t nest in one.
So since Friday of last week we've been going through lay offs and a huge transition at work. It's been an emotional rollercoaster since then and everyone's trying really hard to get a handle on things. Mean while because of the new structure and how its organized in our systems we have to re organize all these locations, and on top of that we are having technical issues with our system. The rest of the week will be the same, though tomorrow were having birthday cake and a reveal cake for me. Hopefully it's not too awkward, we did lose 3 people in our department.
My boss has made a point to keep tabs on me though making sure I'm okay with everything, my VP has also checked in one me. Which is nice to have but its very hard to not be emotional during these things plus extra hormones. Staying positive is really the best way for me to handle it.
@jenferlee82 I must admit I am sad about the plants... But I couldn't bear trying to re-home and not have it work. I thought they might be Robin eggs but I'll look up Finches too @cheznet I'll keep the group updated @emily1052 oh gosh I hope this doesn't happen next year too!
