Busy weekend but fun. Saturday we spent most of the day running errands and doing laundry and such. Sunday we did a last minute trip to see Aladdin. I enjoyed it, i thought it was cute. I don't know how I feel about the new songs though, but still liked the movie. Then we did a mini bbq with our neighbors.
I didn't make it to bed til midnight so I am definitely ready for a nap.
@galentine So adorable! @Cass005 I feel ya on being exhausted because...
We had a wedding on Saturday night and it was so fun! Didn’t get home until 12:30am. MIL was not happy, but of course at the last min she changed the babysitting arrangements from having the boys sleep over at her house to wanting to watch them at our house. Fine. Sorry not sorry. Her choice. In WINNING news... H came to the wedding brunch with me! SIL’s son got lice (eeeek!) and I put my foot Down abt no one from our family going to her house. He agreed and so he skipped the baptism. Yippeee. Not only do I not want my kids getting lice, I Do not want to have to treat my own scalp with chemical shampoo right. Anyway it was a big weekend all around and of course in the middle of last night DS2 vomited in his crib and woke up the whole house. Poor guy. His bday is tomorrow!!
@junebabyh, the lice situation sucks, but I'm so glad your H went to the wedding brunch with you!! And happy early birthday to DS2! How old will he be?
We had a great weekend! We bought our nursery furniture yesterday while my mom entertained DD. It will be delivered in a couple months so we have some time left to clear out the room.
Insomnia is making my life miserable though. Between insomnia at bedtime, an unusual MOTN wake up from DD, more insomnia until I could fall back to sleep, and then DD waking up at 5 am, I’m running on about 4 hours of broken up sleep. I’ll be pushing the caffeine limits today. 😴
@junebabyh my goodness! You had a rollercoaster of a weekend!! I hope your sone has a happy, non-puking, Birthday!!
@greenbean-2 sorry you’re not getting much sleep. Hope the caffeine helps.
My weekend went went pretty good! On Saturday I spent all my money at hobby lobby on the cutest nursery decorations. Then I went and got a pedicure followed by me ordering and eating an entire “Monster” burrito from Freebirds 🙈. DH got home on Sunday and we were lazy which was really nice.
@emily1052, I got a pedicure this weekend too! That's one of my favorite splurges. I attempted to do it myself last week, but I kept getting out of breath while attempting to reach my toes... 🙄 I eventually said screw this, I'm treating myself to a pedicure instead!
My parents took the kids camping from Sat morning to around noon on Sunday. It was BLISSFUL. We got some chores done Sat and then went out shopping, for dinner, and then back home with a Redbox movie. Sunday I got up and enjoyed my coffee without any form of harrassment (seriously, even the dog stayed in bed w/DH!). We went grocery shopping and then picked up the kids. Even after picking them up the day wasn't too bad.
It sounds like everyone had a nice weekend! @emily1052@galentine I am all about the self care during pregnancy. I’ve treated myself to pedis and manis and even got a facial last weekend. We’re growing a human, we deserve it.
@greenbean-2 I feel you on insomnia. I can’t get comfortable! I’m normally a back sleeper so I just flip flop and plop from side to side like a beached whale all night long. And this is just 22 and some weeks? Yiiiikes.
I allowed us to finally go into a baby store this weekend and we settled on what car seat and strollers we want!! Feels good to have made a couple decisions at least. Waiting till viability to start making any purchases or doing the nursery.
@obsessedwithoranges Are you still taking Diclegis/Bonjesta? I’ve still been taking it a night and I’m starting to wonder if I’ve developed some sort of dependency on it that’s messing up my natural ability to sleep, since one of the ingredients is a sleep aid. Usually what happens is I fall asleep quickly but then DH wakes me with something minor after 15-30 minutes (eg rolling over) and then I’m awake for hours. After I get a decent night of sleep I’m going to try going off of it to see what happens.
@galentine He will be two tomorrow. He's started to seem so big to me lately.
@prpl11butterfly Doesn't it feel like a vacation when they aren't in the house? Hence why I was annoyed MIL changed our overnight babysitting plan on Saturday. Glad it was a quiet, easy wkd for you!
@emily1052@galentine +1 for a pedicure this weekend... i NEEDED it b/c of the wedding. Needed! (lol)
@cass005 We were seated with our all close couple friends and felt like this is the group we'd want to go out to dinner with on any given date night if we had a babysitter. So it was great.
Glad everyone had a lovely weekend so far! DH had to work for a little bit on Saturday (he works at the Cultural Arts Center at our city and and they were having an open house for all of the classes offered i.e. dance, art, sculpting, etc.) so DS and I went down to check it out for a bit. Had pizza with the ILs on Saturday night and then just vegged around the house on Sunday and did grocery shopping. I only have a four-day work week because it's my twin sister's bachelorette party this weekend so I'm off Friday to drive out. I'm *hoping* to have fun but not sure what to expect... I'm already kind of bummed for Saturday because I have to get up early for a wine tasting tour that I cannot participate in (I don't really like wine anyways but...).

@stephanie123456 waking up early on a weekend and going to a wine tasting while pregnant sounds like brutal torture.... but I really like wine and sleep. I hope they at least have some tasty snacks for you!
@greenbean-2 Yes, I'm still taking Bonjesta. I tried about two weeks ago to stop and went back to throwing up multiple times a day. My dr said it's safe to take throughout but now that you mention it I wonder if it's contributing to the poor sleep. I also fall asleep quickly but wake up very easily and stay up. My plan is to try to wean off again around 24 weeks, but I'm not hopeful, because I'm still experiencing hunger through nausea... as in, I'm super nauseous, it must be time to eat. That said, I no longer throw up at all as long as I stay on the medicine.
@junebabyh Aw, hope your little guy is feeling better to have a good birthday tomorrow!
@emily1052 I don’t know what Freebird’s is but now I realllly want a burrito haha
@galentine I was just thinking yesterday about how my toenails need cut and repainted but I struggle to bend over that far. Guess it’s pedicures from here on out. Oh darn 😉
Saturday we went to our friends’ daughter’s birthday party then DH had a softball game. The field was 2 blocks from the best bakery in our area so DS and I went for a little walk and got some treats. Yesterday we went to a car cruise with my parents and aunt and uncle. DS loves the Cars movies so he was excited. It was hot and sunny though so I was pretty much pooped for the rest of the day. Luckily my aunt and mom played with DS so I was able to lay down and recharge.
@emily1052 Now I want a burrito too. Thanks a lot, lady. 😉
@galentine My husband doesn't mind cutting my toenails, and I don't usually get pedicures, but I'm kind of tempted to get one soon. I had him practice tying my shoes for me on Saturday because I was tired of bending over. 😂
My weekend was relatively uneventful, but I went to the movies twice (Toy Story 4 and Late Show). I also checked out the infusible ink from Cricut and have decided against it for the time being; I just don't need that kind of stress right now. Ha ha ha!
We also finally made our baby registry public at the request of MIL. I don't mind, but it was tough for me to do. Now that it's done, I feel better about it. I've tweaked it a lot up until now, so having it public will also help me quit nitpicking at it!
Oh! And we think we finally found a dresser that we want. The one that matches our crib has crummy reviews, and we both liked one we saw at Target. DH wants the paint to match the crib, but that isn't going to happen (different brands), so I told him we'd be better off just not trying to match at all, which will look more intentional.
@Meagan-t, I'm so jealous you saw Toy Story 4!!!! We were supposed to go see it as our annual drive-in movie date night, but it rained. Hopefully next weekend 🤞🤞 Also, my registries have been public for awhile, but that has not stopped me from nitpicking them. Lol. I keep changing my mind about little things and swapping stuff out. My first shower is in 3 weeks though, so I will need to stop soon!
@emily1052, I don't know what a monster burrito is, but I definitely want one.
@galentineToy Story 4 was really good, but I think I liked Toy Story 3 a smidge better. There were definitely still feels in 4, especially at the end, so be ready for that.
@junebabyh lice is the worst 😭 we battled it for like a year at one point when we were kids... It was so exhausting. We'd get rid of them and then there'd be another outbreak 🙃
@greenbean-2 insomnia is kicking my ass too... I just lie awake for hours and when I do fall asleep I toss and turn 🤦🏼♀️
@prpl11butterfly what redbox movie did you pick?! Not redbox, but I saw John Wick for the first time on Saturday!
@meagan-t I'm so excited to see TS4! I'm glad to hear it was really good too!! 💚
We had an awesome weekend! It was our housewarming party on Saturday and it went so well! We did a Tacos + Tequila theme and had pork carnitas, chopped chicken, chorizo and carne asada along with lime cilantro rice and lots of cheese and veggie toppings! It made some amazing burritos that I also had for dinner last night 😋 I was able to get the house cleaned up and it somehow didn't get completely destroyed even though we had almost 10 kids here lol
Hello from one of the lesser-known outposts of the Louisiana Bayou. Also known as my attic office. Oh man. Hot and muggy doesn't even begin to cut it. I caved and bought thermal reflective suction cup thingies for our skylights (rental, so no drilling holes in the windowframe for fancy shades). SO was irritated because I'd bought them without consulting him first, but his office is on the second floor and not in the blistering heat, so if he want me to be productive, thermal reflectors it is.
DD2 had her tube operation on Friday. I had all the feels because of anaesthesia and possible side effects google was more than happy to spit out. The OR team was great, aside from not managing to find a vein on her hand, so they had to go through the foot (I didn't mind that, just the part of really poking around in her hand until finally giving up). They found copious amounts of fluid behind her eardrums and the adenoids were massive for a 2 year old, so we made the right decision.
However.
One of the side effects seems to be NO SLEEP. The girl fell asleep at 11pm last night. And tonight is shaping up to be 10pm, easy. This is the first operation on any of my kids so I don't know what to expect but daaaamn
@grapeskittles4lyfe I’m so glad the surgery went well, I hope the sleep goes back to normal soon!!
We had had a good weekend—Saturday I picked up a used Graco Dreamglider that I’m super excited about and brought DD strawberry picking and she had a blast! We also made a berry “cheesecake” pie with the fresh strawberries that was SO GOOD. Then Sunday I had a baby shower for a friend, and it was really good to see her cause I hadn’t seen her bump in person yet! (She lives about an hour away).
Anyway, I also had a scare when H was away on an overnight hiking trip, and I hadn’t heard from him in over 24 hours Saturday afternoon. He is an avid hiker so I never worry when he goes, but pregnant and emotional me was 100% convinced he was dead and I was legit about to call the state park rangers to go find him and his friend once it got dark. OBVIOUSLY they’re fine, they just had no service in the mountains, but holy heart attack was I a wreck for a few hours!!!
@grapeskittles4lyfe the general rule is for every hour they are under anesthesia, their sleep is messed up for a week 😭 My son had a 5ish hour surgery and it was about 6 weeks before he started getting close to normal... I have no clue why Drs don't warn you more about this side effect it's so draining... Lots of hugs your way! I'm so glad it was a successful surgery! Hopefully she's back to normal soon 💚
@SLou24 so glad he's okay!! I'm such a worry wort about stuff like that not pregnant, I can't imagine the thoughts running through your head pregnant....

Wow. I did not know that. I guess it's good to know what is coming our way! Thank you! My SO just kind of had a "dying inside" moment when I read your comment to him ^_^
I think I decided on the big brother gifts- I found books that I like on Put Me In the Story for each of them. I’m a bit sticker shocked at the price, though
I have never had a pedicure...I want to but I hate my feet and dread the idea of anyone working on them. Plus I have no one to go with, and don't want to pay for a sitter to have some time off from my kids 😂 I've had my nails done 3 times. I treated myself to some expensive hair care last week and totally flipped what I'm used to. I chopped my hair off! It's so short, I keep fluffing it up playing with it. I've gotten so many good remarks on it 😂 idk if I'll keep it this short for ever but for this summer, with 2 kids to get ready and myself, much easier 😂 I also bought some new shirts and jewelry I wanted and in 2 weeks I'm gonna go get a couple piercings I've wanted since I was a teen( all ears). That's my splurge on myself 😂
This weekend we got our new car seat and stroller combo and today I ordered my haakaa. I’m still fairly unmotivated to make all of my baby purchases but I’m feeling better after getting those things bought.
Oh my god, my SI joint pain is so bad tonight I can hardly walk 😩. Every time I sit down and get back up again it’s like knives in my low back. I really need to talk to my OB about a back/belly support.
@galentine I love the map. @junebabyh oh no I hope it was just a fluke with DS2 @emily1052 I miss firebirds, didn’t last long here. @grapeskittles4lyfe I’m so happy surgery went well. Hopefully the sleeping will correct itself soon.
My weekend was up and down. DH family was staying with us since Thursday. So been super occupied with them. I woke up Saturday sick and spent most of day in bed until supper time. I felt well enough at that point to spend the night playing cards. Sunday I felt okay most of the day until mid afternoon, then I went downhill quickly and spent all evening/night in bed, not sleeping much because of cough and breathing. DHs sister family left this morning, MIL is here another week at least. Still sick today but slightly better, watched Have You Heard About The Morgans with MIL tonight, cute movie I thought.
Baby girl has been pretty lazy today. I ate a package of Pez candies to pep her up. It worked, she's boppin around in there now. On my already full-ish bladder. I'm alone in my office and need to be here to cash out customers and answer phones 🤦♀️
Just got to work from my doctor appointment/glucose test, almost an hour later than expected because I passed out at the blood draw. I'm praying so hard that I pass so that I don't have to do the 3-hour test!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

DH and DS were out playing on the slip n slide in the rain last night. DS woke up with a swollen forehead and a hard, red, warm lump on his leg, both which he said hurt, so we were at the pediatrician this afternoon. Now I’m just hoping the antibiotic and Zyrtec the dr recommended helps him! He’s fine but of course I’m a little bit worried about the infection
@emily1052 we bought the Chicco Bravo Travel system. I’ve tried about 8 different infant car seats with my kiddos over the last 7 years and I’ve never loved any of them as much as our Chicco Nextfit so we decided that we would get a Chicco infant seat this time around.
