@cmbt2 I would be livid of that as all in my yard....taunting kids. Such a safety issue.
I sent a not nice response to them about this. I’m fed up, and maybe it’s because I’m 5.5 months pregnant, but this whole process has been hell with them. I’m just so done
@prpl11butterfly I know exactly how you feel. DS and DD share right now cause we're in a 2 bed. I have room for the baby in our room for now but hopefully by next year we'll be maybe on our way to moving out of this state cause we don't want to buy a house here but renting forever isn't gonna work either 😑 @PenelopeSnuz77 happy belated birthday to you too!! I low-key am sad I probably won't have a gemini baby 😅 my youngest SIL and her oldest daughter share their bdays (may 29th, literally a few days before mine) and I've always loved that idea!! But this is gonna be our last cause I'm I'm a ridiculous amount of pain already at half way and I know I'm not gonna wanna do another labor after this one lol
@junebabyh + @PenelopeSnuz77 Happy Belated Birthday!! I hope you both had wonderful days 💚 @prpl11butterfly yay! Congrats!! 💗 I absolutely love the Alexa list!! @cmbt2 that sounds like such a pain! I'm glad you said something... Was this just a remodel or what all have you gotten done in the last 6ish months?
We had DS's speech evaluation today and it went well. Pretty much all my thoughts were validated, which is nice but crappy lol He's got very good receptive language, but his expressive language is lacking. She needs to actually score the results, but she's not sure if he's below average or it's problematic... I'm not sure what happens if he's just below average, maybe less therapy? Maybe more wait and see? We still have the other half of the evaluation to go (she said they generally take 2 sessions) but I already feel like a little weight has been lifted off my shoulders which is nice
Anyone get anything in the Wildbird (ring sling) sale?! If not and you're interested, there's 20% off and free shipping with the code luvvipeeps! it's supposed to be a fb group only sale though... So don't tattle on me 🤣

How old is he? They have to be below a certain threshold to qualify for EI or the preschool version. When I had DS1 evaluated for EI, he came in at 24%tile and didn’t qualify at all. I had him re-evaluated 8 months later through preschool ed, and he finally qualified because he was severely delayed at 3%tile
eta- we bought new construction back in March, after a year of headaches to get it built (it was supposed to take 6-7 months max). Since we closed during winter months, the outside was incomplete and the money placed with the town in escrow in order to get our CO. The builder has constantly waited to the last second to get things done and asked that we jump at his command. We’re only notified at the last second when things will be done, and now that we’re in the house, we’re lucky if we get 24 hours notice that we need to be here or do something to accommodate them.
@cmbt2 I would be so fed up if I were you. What a frustrating scenario! Hopefully they get their shit together soon and finish the job so you don’t have to deal with them anymore.
Do any of you ladies have good suggestions for birthday presents for 4 year old girls? DS just got invited to a twin birthday party this weekend and I have no clue what to buy! I only know boys and he’s just over 2.5 so still a bit younger.

My girls are into things they can build or create with. They love their art kits, kinetic sand, science experiment kits, bead kits for making bracelets/necklaces, and books - Rosie Revere Engineer, Ada Twist Scientist, and The big book of Why are favorites right now.
@geminigirl16 I have 2 niece's 8 months apart, and they love all things sparkly. They btoh love painting their nails, even outside toys like bubbles or chalk lol my oldest niece loves Barbie's and the younger one love baby dolls/house stuff!

I get LEGO friends or the Disney ones that are labeled age 4+. It’s been great so far 🤷🏼♀️
We had a rough day yesterday in the Galentine household. My H's grandma hasn't been doing well and we learned yesterday she is no longer eating or drinking any water. We decided to leave work early and drive 7 hours round-trip to see her and say our goodbyes. It was very emotional and difficult, but I'm so glad we went. The day in March when we told the in-laws we were pregnant, Grandma had a surprisingly lucid day. She was SO excited to learn she would be a great-grandma and she gushed about how we'd discover a love we'd never felt before when our baby is born. It was so special and something I'll remember for a long time. Apparently for the last two months, she has talked about the baby every time she's had a good day. Since she won't be able to meet her great-granddaughter, I whispered to her what we plan to name our little girl as I was saying goodbye. We are heartbroken, but also so glad she was here long enough to share our excitement with us. 💖
@galentine Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your H's grandmother. I'm glad that she knows about her great-grand baby and that it brought her so much joy. Hugs for everyone.

@galentine I am so sorry to you and your H. Losing a grandparent is incredibly difficult under any circumstances. I'm so glad you guys were able to see her and say your goodbyes. Internet hugs to you, friend.
@galentine I am so sorry ❤ I'm happy she got to enjoy the knowledge on her good days. And I love that you made sure she knew the name. I am not sure why but I find that soo important that they have that before they go (we went through the same with DHs grandfather before DS was born).
Yesterday I bought 2 vanilla frosted donuts and then drizzled them with pink icing after the kids went to bed. We gave them the donuts this morning.
DS did not get the concept and cried for 10 min (if not more) about not getting a blue donut. After things had settled and I was getting him ready for the day, I asked if he was going to tell daycare he was getting a baby sister. He was so surprised and didn't know how I knew. Lol. I showed him the pics and he was so excited. He wanted a baby sister at the beginning and only decided brother for the ability to have bunk beds. Niece was not excited but not disappointed. I won't say indifferent but it was obvious she would have been happy either way.
@galentine I’m so sorry to hear about H’s grandma. How special, though, to know that your baby brought her such joy in her last few months. Sending love to you ❤️
@galentine I'm crying a little and I don't even know her (or you in real life)! So very sorry. Saying goodbye is both a gift and incredibly hard. I'm glad she gets to secretly know your daughter's name! Hugs
@galentine I am sorry about your H’s grandmother but am happy that you guys managed to spend some final quality time with her.
@PenelopeSnuz77@andromedacorrine2@cmbt2 Thanks for sharing the ideas and for including a few books for me to check out. I hadn’t thought of art or craft kits but that could be fun! I never played with barbies either so its never on my radar. I had originally been thinking clothes but that doesn’t seem very fun to most kids.
@cmbt2 that just really pisses me off. Hopefully once we are in a PG we can talk more on the specifics. I have a lot to say about how you and your family are being treated.
@galentine I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I hope you all take the time to grieve and can find some peace in memories.
@prpl11butterfly what a fun way to share to news! That donut looked really really good.....
@galentine I'm so sorry about YH's grandma. Just reading your story made me cry a little and so glad you guys were able to have a few good moments with her to pass on to your DD.
@galentine I'm sorry you have to deal with all of these emotions right now, but it's so special that you got to see her and share that moment with her.
@geminigirl16 Have you considered giving an experience instead of a material gift? I gave my girlfriend a gift card to a trampoline park for her son when he turned six and she loved it! It was less stuff around the house and it allowed her to get the kids out and active. I simply put it in a card and gave little things like bubbles and yard toys for him to open.

He's 2.5! I absolutely hate that they have to qualify like that... It's my only fear of him being on the edge like this... I just hope we can get him the help he needs now instead of having to wait until he REALLY needs it 😢 did your son do well once they got him the help?!
That house situation sounds terrible! I hope it's all over for you soon!!
When I got in to work this morning, there was a box of donuts on my desk, compliments of the new guy in the office. Score!! My craving after reading @prpl11butterfly post has officially been satisfied. 🍩

It’s been a very long road. He started with traveling therapists right before his 3rd birthday. He went from 3rd% to 5th% by June of last year with 2 sessions per week. He qualified for summer session and had two sessions per week. He now gets two individual sessions a week, one group session, and has a speech therapist in his room most of the time at school. I’m waiting on his annual review to see where he ranks now. His issue is pragmatic speech now. It was overall speech when we start- he was pretty much non verbal
@galentine I'm so sorry you had this happen 😔 I'm very glad you got to tell her the name!! My papa passed when I was 6/7 months along with DS and I gave him his name as a middle name.
@prpl11butterfly The donuts was a neat idea to do that! Sorry he was upset with the color 😂
I know that these girls already have so many toys!! My son is always in awe when we go to their house. I’m going to do some searching online for potential ideas tonight.
I’ve spent the last two days inspecting and have another day of it tomorrow. I’m exhausted. This is reminding me why inspecting is only 5%ish of my job
@galentine I’m sorry about your family’s loss. That’s how my grandmother went many years ago and it’s so hard.
@prpl11butterfly when you said you drizzled pink donuts after the kids went to bed I figured you were saying you ate them 😂 that’s when I have to eat any of my sweets. And now I want a donut.
@cmbt2 I used to work for a home builder and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with all of that. I was the sales counselor and I would bend over backwards for my buyers, before, during and after they moved in. My upper management was actually pretty good and they knew I wouldn’t let things rest until they were right lol they actually were sad to see me go but I’m sure they were a little relieved too 😉 I do hope your situation gets better soon!

I found out today that the new guy at work is getting a service dog in a few months and the dog will be coming to work with him most days. I realize the dog will be there to work and not to play with me, and that the reason for a service dog is usually not a fun one, but I can't help it: I AM SO EXCITED! I am a crazy dog lady: the one who talks to your dog and loves on your dog and sometimes forgets to acknowledge you, the human. I am the one who spends dinner parties sitting on the floor playing with dogs. I am beside myself with happiness when I meet a puppy. I'M SO EXCITED! I'm basically picturing my work day looking like this from now on:
@galentine Ooooh! I’m jealous! I’ve told my boss multiple times that I’d be in a much better mood with a dog in the office. They really do lift spirits!!
