Next to last appointment was this morning. All is good. One more appointment next Thursday and only 12 days left (at most!). So ready to meet this little girl!!
Everything went well today! They’re thinking they caught baby in a growth spurt last time because he is down to the 76th percentile, weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces!
I had had a cervical check and while it’s softening, I’m not dilated. Got the GBS test too.... not fun. Haha.
@kenishi I'm so glad that he's chilled out and is down to a more reasonable percentile! I hope mine does the same. Question: why are they still contemplating inducing at 39 if his size is back down within reason?
Had another weekly check up today. AlpatAppar I'm a centimeter dilated and baby is hanging low. Unfortunately my doctor wants me to go in for one last dating sonogram because my belly hasn't grown too much in the last few weeks. The good thing is that she's not too concerned and thinks it's just because the baby is continuing to settle downward. I guess I'll be seeing this little peanut again sooner than expected!
@hannahbananas11 because I have gestational diabetes and I guess that it is common practice to induce at 39 weeks for that reason. I'm still not 100% clear. We just found out that I have gestational diabetes at 33 weeks (even though I was tested at 28 weeks) because I barely missed the cut off and the lab labeled it as "normal". The way the hospital does ultrasounds and diabetes management is kinda weird, they send you to a specialty practice. So, we'll see what my midwife says about it next week when I see her for my regular check in.
Headed to my OB appt now for an NST and check and possibly setting my induction appt, which might be as soon as next week, based on her statements last week! 😳
@kenishi It actually went amazingly well. He was rocking the accelerations like never before and I did not have get an unscheduled ultrasound after which has become sort of the unfortunate drill. That means, no induction next week! Although I was having contractions on the monitor, so she mentioned she was on call this weekend if I happen to go into labor. 🤯
@sjnsjnsjn I keep hoping I'll go into labor but unless I'm immune to them I can't feel any contractions. So she's probably staying put until the 29th. How far along are you now?
@cali1710 Yep! 10 days left! I'm hanging in there. Baby is so low I swear she's just going to fall out at some point. But no noticeable contractions or anything. How are you and the girls?
@cali1710 Nope! That would be Monday but instead I just have an NST on Friday. Original plan for this pregnancy was 39 week induction because of my age so it seems we are back to that plan which gives me two more weeks (although I was having contractions on the monitor, so ...). I second @bellebaby221’s question! How are you guys doing?!
@bellebaby221@sjnsjnsjn I’m doing pretty well. Healing nicely. I think. Being able to sleep through the night has been nice and has helped me heal quickly but I miss the girls. The babies are still in Nicu. They just don’t want to eat. But I’m hoping they will turn a corner any day now.
@cali1710 I am glad you are getting rest, to prepare for having them home which I hope will be very soon!! Sending good energy for them to start eating stat.
Just had my weekly appointment, I am 1 cm dilated and 75% effaced. They'll check again in one week and if everything looks good, they'll strip my membranes on the 12th!
Had an appointment on Tuesday. They did an ultrasound to check the placenta and fluid and everything since I'm overdue now, and hooked me up to a monitor to check the baby's heartbeat and contractions. Everything looked good, but they told me I could think about scheduling an induction. I called them back after talking with DH, to set up an induction for Monday....well today they called me and said Monday wasn't available anymore, so Saturday or Wednesday. Got stuck playing phone tag with the office trying to set up an induction for Saturday (I am literally so uncomfortable, I just cannot wait until Wednesday, even though I'd rather let my body just do things on its own time if possible), but then they called me back and said Saturday filled up so now I am scheduled to be induced at 5am tomorrow morning!
I'm super nervous about being induced, and that it's really all going to happen tomorrow, but I just need to not be pregnant anymore. Hoping everything goes well and baby comes out healthy!
Thanks for the well wishes from everyone. To update, we were trying various induction methods for 2 days, some with more success than others, but I ended up stalling around 8-9cm and then the baby started getting stressed out from the meds and contractions. So last night we ended up choosing to do a c-section (rather than waiting until it became an emergency), which went really well. Baby Dean was born (and I posted in the birth announcements thread too), and now I'm just in recovery, but we're both doing well.

They’re still contemplating inducing at 39 weeks.
