I was in this morning as well. Baby is head down, measuring right on track. Did blood work to check my liver numbers and start Prednisone this weekend to help level out my body for the distress of birth (this is all related to my Autoimmune Hepatitis). Weekly appointments from here on out! I'm really hoping this continues to be our boring pregnancy/baby.
So many appointments today. I had a 1045 ultrasound then a nst at the hospital. Then had to rush yo my ob for a 1215 appt. though right up the street its still annoying to get in the car, pay the parking fee and get to my ob where theres another fee. Then after the appt he sent me BACK to the hospital for steroid shots for the lungs. A needle in the ass, always fun. Not to mention my ob did the vag/butt swab as well.
@shellperry So jealous you had access to nitrous oxide! They don’t offer it at our hospital, or any in our immediate area.
I was 2cm and still 80% effaced at Thursday’s appointment at 36w4d. Baby is head down and wayyy low in my pelvis. Doc seems convinced I’ll deliver before our Feb 4 due date. Going med-free, fingers crossed!
@bellebaby221 after the steroid shots I was told by my ob and nurse that I cant do anything. Lots of rest. I guess maybe it can cause preterm labour ? I go for the second shot tomorrow but thats the extent of my plans. I’m hoping to just sit on the couch ha.
@sjnsjnsjn ya so much for resting lol. Doing well, thanks! I’m surprised how much ... “easier”.. not the right word because its not easy at all but anyways.. I have found recovering from a csection is. It helps that I’m still in hospital (hopefully going home today) and the babies are in NICU so Ive been able to do some good recovery on my own for a few days. The girls are doing well, they are just monitoring their sugar levels and trying to get them to eat more. I feel they may be staying here a few days longer then I will be. But luckily we only live 15 min away so I’ll be able to come back everyday they are here and stay the day with them.
@cali1710 So glad to hear everyone is well. Hopefully the girls stay will be short and sweet! Still counting down the days (15) despite spending the weekend thinking this kid was going to push her way out through my abdomen!
@cali1710 So glad to hear everyone is great! My son had to do a few days in the nicu for glucose levels and he was born at 41 weeks so these things happen . Hope your recovery is easy and they are home soon!
@bellebaby221 Thank you!! I was just thinkkng this morning that you’re a few weeks away! So exciting. How do you feel?
@sjnsjnsjn thank you! I’m hoping they wont be in long but whatever time is needed. I’m going home today but we live 10-15 min away so I can come everyday and see them. I feel so guilty leaving them here though. But would be nice to get home. My 3 year old is out of sorts not having me home and her birthday is a few days away
@cali1710 that's great that you get to head home and are feeling good! Hopefully the time in the NICU will be short! That's great that you'll be home for your 3 y/o bday
@jgrodo yes I’m hoping their stay wont be long. If this was my forst pregnancy Id stay a couple more nights but with one at home its hard. But fingers crossed for a short stay. How are you feeling?
@cali1710 Ready to be done! Lol. I keep saying I wasn't this miserable carrying 2 babies to 38 weeks! Guess that's the difference between pregnancy at 29 versus 39. In the grand scheme of things 15 days isn't much. Sleep would help!
@cali1710 congrats on the girls. I’ve been MIA the past week. I’ve never had a csection befor but now one could be in the cards for me. Tell me the worst thing about it. I’d rear her no the worst then the easyest.
@shellperry I've had 2 c/s headed for a 3rd. When I had the twins it honestly wasn't terrible. Once I learned that a belly band is your best friend during the first week or 2, I recovered just fine. My second one was worse but it really had nothing to do with the incision. My spinal block was incomplete and I started feeling the cutting about half way through and had to be knocked out. The recovery was a little longer because the surgeon had to stop operating until I was out. Just make sure you move but don't do stairs more than they tell you or drive until they say you can. I'm usually one to push myself but for this I listened and my recoveries were pretty easy.
@bellebaby221 CS just seems so hard core to me like your going cut my body open when I’m awake on top of the needles in the spine I’m on the hope and prey she falls in line like her brothers
@bellebaby221 oh god that sounds horrible, I’m glad I didnt read about your c/s before I had mine! But @shellperry now that I have had both ways, I don’t find recovery any worse then with a natural birth. I actually feel better then I did with a natural birth. I agree, don’t push yourself and listen to the doctors. I found getting up and walking around has helped a ton. Ive done lots of walking and I feel great. Getting up and down is for sure the hardest part but once up its ok. I was terrified for the c/s but it wasnt anything close to as bad as I expected.
Oh and ask for zofran in your IV! My biggest fear was puking after the c/s so they loaded me up. And don't be afraid to push the button for pain meds that first day. I switched to 800 mg of ibuprofen after day 1 but that little narcotics button was a life saver the first 24 hours.
And @shellperry what I actually hated more than anything was the stupid catheter!! The worst part of the needle in the back was trying to round out my spine enough over my enormous bump!
Nope, the boys were nursing right away. I didn't stay on the good stuff long because they make me sleepy and kind of out of it so I only took them for a short time.
@bellebaby221 oh my goodness! the catheter seriously freaks me out more than the idea of anything in my spine! I know it doesn't make sense but for some reason it just freaks me out!
@cali1710 Did you have a natural (drug free) birth? Am I reading that right? If so, would you mind sharing a little bit about your experience?
@kenishi oh no no I did not have a drug free birth. Csection. I needed all the drugs possible. But all the power to you if thats the route you’re taking! I knkw a few people who have done drug free and managed quite well.
@jgrodo today is going. Pain hasn’t gotten better but no worse either. Just keeping on top of my tylenol helps. Spent the day with the girls in the nicu hoping they will be able to come home in the next few days
@cali1710 I’m so glad you were able to see them today. Hope you guys are all doing well they seemed to be pretty good sized for twins. Do you have names yet?
@cali1710 that's great that you got to spend the day with them! That'd be great if they get to go home with you soon!!! Hopefully the pain will get better soon 🤞. Being able to manage with only tylenol seems positive. How did bday celebrations go for your 3 y/o?
@Izzfranciscothats a post from 2015 it has my photo on it but yet it’s a post from 2015? That make no cens. And also I have all buys this will be my first girl.
@shellperry If you go to any of your old posts right now, they will have your current profile pic showing, because they are still YOUR posts. That’s how the bump works.
