So what brand does everyone recommend for OPKs? I only have 1 left and will likely need to order more, last time I ordered Wondo off Amazon as a OPK/HPT combo pack and they were fine but was just curious if there was something better I should be getting. I don't want to break the bank and extra points if I can get them Amazon prime

Gotta love prime! I have been using Wondfos for over a year with no issues. I did do Clear Blue digital this cycle only because that's what my REs nurse recommends. I didn't mind them but I like the ones with lines so I can see my surge progressing.

@kimmer1412 I also use Wondfo OPKs and have been for over a year. It's nice to see that the line is progressing so that I know O is getting close. I know several people on here also use the Easy @ Home brand, which is basically the same thing as wondfo.

@kimmer1412 I also use the wondfo and like them a lot and like the price a lot. I take pictures of all my tests so I can see the line progression as I get closer to O. And can compare different cycles too

I've used both Wondfo and Easy at Home. I feel like I like Wondfo better, but honestly, because I'm obsessive, I've used them both at the same time and they're basically the same.

@kimmer1412 I have been using the Wondfo for 6+ months and no issues. They've always been pretty accurate. Temps always confirmed. Plus you can't beat the price. It took me 6 months to use my 50 Wondfos and for $16, this can't be beat.

I also like Wondfo and Easy@Home! Both have been extremely accurate. I really like using the Premom app with the E@H to help with low/high/peak readings (I could probably tell this myself just from looking at them but whatevs).

@lulu1180 It's a fertility tracking app (much like all the others) that's sort of like Femometer. You can take a picture of your OPK and it will come back with test/control ratio. I like Premom because it doesn't cost anything for the app whereas Femometer makes you purchase the "premium" to use/store those type of analyzing functions.

Feel free to tell me if this is a dumb question lol. I’ve been using the crinone gel for my progesterone supplement for the past couple of days. Will it affect dh at all when we hio? I wouldn’t use it until afterwards but curious if the previous days cream would cause any issues.

@kbrown2385 sorry not sure on this one though I have used crinone gel many times over the past years - we were always told to abstain but that was I believe only because each time I’d had a retrieval (in an IVF cycle) and then a subsequent embryo transfer, so due to the very small puncture wounds from retrieval they like you to abstain to reduce the risk of infection (which is anyhow very very small if you’re with a good clinic).

However when using crinone, I had so much build up of the gel each day it would not have been at all nice for either of us without a complete “clear out” of the old gel first...

Do you notice ovulation pain on both sides? I feel it, but I swear it is only ever on the right side. Could it be possibly from having abdominal surgery/scar tissue! Meaning, maybe it is more centralized, but I can’t feel the left?

@emmasemm Thank you! I’m just using it after timed intercourse and our re never said anything regarding abstaining, so I’m assuming there won’t be any issues. I did think about the build up so I guess we can cross that bridge once we get there lol.

K ladies, I'm probably symptom spotting here so feel free to give me a slap on the hand.

I don't really get any CM in the TWW period but I'm wondering if what I keep finding in my underwear is some kind of very watery CM. Sometimes it's the white stuff from the progesterone suppositories, I can identify that, but sometimes there's a wet spot so I'm wondering if that's just a normal thing with being on the progesterone? Anyone experience something similar?

@holly321 I normally only feel it on the one side, if I feel it at all. I think I have read other ladies also only feeling it on the one side too. Whether that means it is the side you are actually ovulating from or not....no clue!

@inthewoods23 I had all sorts of cm with the suppositories, watery, creamy, the works. I chalked it all up to side effects from them. FX that it is something positive for you though.

Question for those who temp and have used progesterone.

I started Crinone suppositories on Sat night. I thought since progesterone is what keeps temps up, that I would get higher then usual temps. That does not seem to be the case. My temps are running pretty on par with what I usually get. Is this normal?

@prpl11butterfly I'm having the same experience that my temps are in line with what I've had in the past, even with the suppositories.

Maybe that is normal?

I hope it's okay that I ask this, even though I am not yet TTC.

At what point do you consider your cycles irregular? If it's been 3mo or more? If your cycle length varies a lot?

@thatcma I thought my cycles might be considered irregular since I have had cycles as short as 28/29 days and as long as 39 days. Majority of the time my cycles are between 30-32 days.

Per my RE my cycles aren't irregular since I do still get my period basically every month. I think cycles longer than 45 days or if you skip months without a period are considered irregular.

I know they also say if your period is a week late that's still normal. Some variation is typical. But possibly large variations are not. The cycles where I've had 35+ day cycles I have always been able to match to have a very stressful moment during the WTO period. And typically after a long cycle my body adjusts and has a cycle on the shorter side. So variation is normal for me, but somewhat predictable.

@thatcma I'm not sure what medical professionals consider irregular, but my cycles can be 29-34 days and my doctor considers my cycles to be regular. Not sure if that helps...

@inthewoods23 @ruby696 Thank you both! You have answered my curiosity question.

Nothing too crazy is going on I just have cycles that last anywhere from 27 to 36 days. And there was on occasion I had 2 cycles within the same month (back in June) but hasn't happened again since. I would say it is somewhat predictable based on what you both are saying about your cycles.

@thatcma if you're temping and/or using OPKs it can be even easier to predict when AF will come, give or take a day. Your cycle lengths are in the normal range so that's good. I don't know if it could be considered irregular if there's not some kind of pattern to your cycle lengths.

My cycle lengths, for example, when charted on a bar graph is a wave pattern so I generally know how long my next cycle will be. This is from my Flo app once I went off BC. I just find it really neat.

@inthewoods23 No temping (my sleep pattern is way too unpredictable) and no OPKs since we are no where near TTC and he wants to be more...relaxed this time. I can't take a snap shot of my recent cycles but here is how the lengths have been recently: 25, 28, 29, 26, 31, 31, 35, 13, 29

@inthewoods23 I get it during my LP when my estrogen is nice and high - that for me is what drives the volume and wateryness of my CM. Sometimes I have to wear quite a thick pad when I’m in treatment cycles if my estrogen has been really high, as it feels almost like peeing
So it could be symptom spotting, but it could also just signal that you had multiple mature follicles and thus your estrogen is higher than normal

@prpl11butterfly the issue with anything which goes up in well, you know, is that you can’t do a blood test to check if you’re absorbing it well enough and if your dose is high enough... I didn’t get noticeable temp rises with only crinone, I needed injectible progesterone too and so my RE assumed for whatever reason either the crinone wasn’t enough or I don’t absorb it properly. However of course one cycle is not really enough to say if it’s a one off or your normal reaction to it. I don’t think it hurts to mention it to your RE just in case next time you’re in contact with them

@emmasemm of course I was on the phone with them earlier for another question. I'll watch my temps for a few more days and shoot them a message if they seem to be "normal" still.

@NYTino24 I use Ovia and my fitbit tracker. I wasn't sure FF would be that beneficial since I am not temping or tacking CM

@thatcma I use Ava and FF, plus my Fitbit. For me, I didn't realize how inaccurate my Fitbit was until I started using Ava/FF. I mean, it was close, but my heartrate doesn't start to increase until a few days after ovulation.

@ruby696 are you referring to resting HR? I did not realize that had any correlation in cycles XD

Yes, it totally does! Watch your RHR as your cycles progress and you'll see it elevate 5-10 points after ovulation. Then it drops once your period starts.

@thatcma I also track my RHR. My last few cycles have been a little wonky because my RHR is also affected by my anxiety (which is through the roof these days) but there's definitely a correlation!

Thanks again ladies! One more silly question: when taking BBT small movement (IE rolling over for thermometer) is okay just no major movement or standing right?

My DD sometimes still wakes up in the night, would I still record my temp and just note I woke up less than 3hrs before temp?

@thatcma as long as you don't get up you should be good. I have a similar issue and haven't noticed much of a difference between nights.

@thatcma yep small movement is fine! Although once I did get out of bed and halfway to my closet before I realized I forgot to temp so I got back in bed and temped. The thermometer gave me a temp that wasn't far off from what I had gotten previously so I don't think I affected my chart too much.

So, if you stand up and realize you forgot to temp, you're probably okay to lay back down and get a temp without throwing things off too much.

I have that same problem, and blame part of my rocky charts on a 2.5 y/o that co-sleeps with us. The nights she's super snuggly my temps definitely go higher. If I wake up before around 2am, then I don't temp. Since I temp at 5-530 most mornings, if I wake up after 2am then I make a note in my chart that my sleep was interrupted. It's never caused me to not see temp shift, but my charts never look pretty.
