Last Wednesday night (11/7), DH and I went to bed as normal. About 10:45 I abruptly woke up after feeling like I peed in bed. I got up and tried to psych myself out thinking this couldn't be happening again. I managed to scrounge around the bathroom to find a pad and got back in bed to see if I'd leak or feel anything again. I laid there for 15 mins and when I got up it happened again so I knew it was my water. After getting DH awake, packing bags for DS and DH and getting DS to my inlaws house, we made it to the hospital just before midnight and were admitted immediately. Due to pretty frequent contractions, I was given steroids and started on magnesium immediately. We made it through Thursday and Friday morning with no contractions, great BPP results and baby was head down. Mid-morning the magnesium was stopped and I was allowed to shower and unhooked from all monitoring. Late Friday night while having an NST, I began contracting again so I was given another shot to stop them (I can't remember the name) but it failed to work. During my contractions the baby's heartrate was having decels and I also started bleeding pretty significantly so first thing Saturday morning I was rushed in for an emergency c-section. Colton Scott was born @ 8:03am on 11/10/2018 (32wk 3days gestation) weighing 4lbs 9oz and he was 17.8 inches long. He was admitted to the NICU but has been doing wonderfully and never required any respiratory assistance. He has been in an incubator since Saturday evening because he has not made it back to his birth weight so they are regulating his temps for him so he's not burning extra calories. We're hoping to see him moved back to an open crib in the next few days and yesterday his IVs were turned back. I'm actually waiting on rounds right to see what today's plans are but so far, he is doing well.
On Dec 5th I went to my regular prenatal appointment for 8 am. I was 32 weeks and 5 days. My doctor checked my blood pressure and said it was high then had me give a urine sample. There was protein in my urine and blood pressure still high he told me I needed to go to labour and delivery triage right away. He would call ahead.
Arrived at triage blood pressure of 170/90 and they ran tests, blood test every few hours, urine tests every few hours, non stress test and biophysical profile. Was given medication to help with blood pressure. Was there all day and at 5pm they admitted me to the antenatal unit. Diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and placenta was not functioning properly baby was measuring in 6th percentile. Told I am staying at the hospital until the baby is delivered they gave one steroid shot to help his lungs with another planned for 24 hours later.
They continued tests in the antenatal unit. At midnight they came back with bloodwork that said I now had HELLP and baby needed to come out. My placenta previa had cleared so was able to start being induced. Around 1 am I Had a foley catheter inserted to dilate my cervix then admitted to labour and delivery where I was started on magnesium sulfate, oxytocin, and penicillin. They asked if i wanted an epidural and I said if needed. Was told if my platelets dropped below 80 i wouldn't be able to have one. My platelets were at 98 so I got the epidural.
All medicines and monitoring continued with oxytocin being upped regularly. Around 6:40 am Dec 6 baby started having heartrate decelerations after contractions. He was not tolerating labour..oxytocin was stopped. Dr was quickly in the room with consent forms for c-section and I was very quickly wheeled out to the operating room and prepped for a c-section. Everyone was moving very quickly. So glad I had the epidural already in which they increased.
Baby was born at 7:08 am Dec 6th weighing 4 pounds. He was taken to NICU and DH got to go see him. He was put on cpap and feeding tube and iv. Doing so well he is off the cpap now and I've been able to see him twice since I was still being treated for HELLP for 24 hours after delivery.
We went into the hospital for induction at 9:30am and started medication to soften my cervix. After about 4 hours the midwife checked me and I was dilated and effaced enough to begin Pitocin.
The Pitocin created strong feelings of contractions for me, but nothing showed on the monitor. Every hour the nurse upped my dose to try and get the contractions to become strong enough to show up. After 4 hours I was feeling contractions so strong and frequently that it seemed like I never had a break between them. When the midwife checked me again I was just shy of 4 cm so she broke my water and gave me an internal monitor. Immediately we saw that I was having MAJOR contractions and in some cases they weren’t even finished before the next one started. The midwife cut the dose of Pitocin in half right away, but at that point I was in serious pain and, due to the internal monitor, unable to move around and use the coping methods I had planned on.
I asked to try IV meds to help me manage the pain, but all that did was make me sleepy. I was half dreaming/half awake trying to manage the pain and it wasn’t working. So, I asked for an epidural. They had the anesthesiologist in my room within 5 minutes and the epidural placed with no issues. As soon as it kicked in I fell asleep. That was around 11:30 last night.
The midwife woke me at 4:30am to check me again and I was at 9.5 cm! She and the nurse got everything ready for delivery and at 5:00 we agreed to turn off my epidural and I started pushing. At 5:49, Philomena Helen was born! I had a small 2nd degree tear but I honestly didn’t notice once she was placed on my chest. She had the chord wrapped around her neck twice and a knot in it so it was a really good thing we induced early and she was tiny. The NICU team checked out Philomena quickly before they gave her back to me for skin on skin and said the chord issues hadn’t caused any problems and she was perfect!
It was not the birth experience I had planned on in any way, but it all came together beautifully and I’m just grateful we are all healthy and happy in recovery.

Our sweet boy, Jasper Judd Jordan, made his early debut yesterday! I was induced early due to intrahepatic cholestasis but everything went very smoothly with delivery; baby and I are both doing great!
Maeve Rosalie was born 12/22/2018. I was sent straight from my 38wk OB appt to the hospital to be induced. I thought I had the flu, nope it was preeclampsia! This little bean was born the next day at 5:53a, 7lb2oz and 20inch long. Pregnancy was a little rough, but she repaid me with an incredibly easy labor. I pushed for an hour and had her before the hour was up, and only walked away with 2 stitches. Her original due date was January 6th
due January 16, this little guy came today instead! My labs came back this morning as cholestasis, so the Drs called early to tell me to head to L&D. Upon arriving for them to break my water to attempt a trial of labor/vbac, we learned baby was transverse to almost breach. They scheduled a C-section for 4 pm bc I had eaten breakfast. The delivery was very smooth and the Dr said if we attempted a vbac my uterus would have ruptured bc the scar was coming open before he even cut it. This little one (name TBD) had his own way and it turns out it was best! At 37 weeks 2 days he weighed in at 8lbs 12 oz!

This happened Christmas morning! Our beautiful twin boys were born due to HELLP syndrome and Cholestasis of pregnancy. A very scary combo and we feel extremely blessed that everyone is doing well.
And, for the names: William Henry (Baby A) and Harrison Richard (Baby .
Thanks to to all those who destroyed the name Grider, lol! We are really glad we didn’t name one of our twins that! Haha
December 19 I went in to the OB because my hands and feet were so itchy it woke me up the night before. The lab results took forever to come back and of course with the holiday i didn’t hear back until my next appointment on the 26th of December. I was diagnosed with cholestasis and sent straight to the hospital that morning for induction. I was 37 weeks and very nervous about delivering early.
my epidural only worked on the left side, my liver and gallbladder were so pissed off they were creating tons of pain on top of the contractions. The baby was showing d cells in her heart rate so they wanted to get moving quickly. Turns out she had wrapped the cord around her neck twice, which is why she was in so much distress. Mix that with the cholestasis and she was ready to get out of there! My first born was 8lb 12oz and came on her own, no issues. I just pushed for 3 solid hours.
The induction started 8pm on the 26th and baby was born December 28 at 7:30A 6lb 4 oz 17in long After 4 hard pushes Addison Chandler was born a healthy baby girl!
I went into L&D Saturday(12/29) morning during to high at home blood pressure readings. After being monitored for a few hours they decided to induce(I was 38 weeks 3 days and 3cm dialated). I had been scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks anyways due to blood pressure concerns. At 2 PM they induced me via pitocin and an hour later broke my water. Contractions were strong and I wanted to go without an epidural. After laboring with no pain management for 6 hours I asked for IV pain meds to help take the edge off and give me enough strength to be able to push. I was 7 cm dialated and the dr okayed the meds and the nurse came back to give them. I was told they would make a bit loopy for the first few minutes. After receiving the pain meds I went from 7cm dialated to 10cm in 3 minutes and was very out of it. I spent the next 15 minutes in and out of consciousness trying to stay awake long enough to push. Finally I was able to stay awake long enough to get her out. It took me a few hours to stop feeling sleepy and loopy. My poor husband is completely traumatized now but we are do grateful to have a happy healthy baby and I am recovering well!
All in all this was not the delivery experience we had planned but we are so grateful to have our baby girl here in our arms safe.

Team Green turned Team Blue! Our second little man arrived on the afternoon of January 8, 2019, at 37w4d gestation, after a 15 hour induction for hypertension.
He is 6 lbs 14 oz and 19.5” long—by far my smallest baby—and absolutely perfect.
We cannot wait for big brother and newly-minted big sister to meet him tomorrow!!
On January 5th I woke up before 6am, as usual. I felt like I had menstrual cramps and some pressure, but intervals ranged between 3 and 20 min, so I figured we were just having practice contractions. Took my toddler grocery shopping and by the end of the trip, I was having those cramps every 5 min. Doctor said to give it an hour and see if they remained regular. They didn’t. All day I cycled between regularity and sporadic contractions, so we finally went to triage around 7pm. I was dilating, and baby had a few decels, so we were admitted around 10pm. My heart rate was soaring before each contraction (3min apart) then dropping back to 90bpm at peaks, so I got a saline bolus, which helped some. I rocked back labor until 6am, when baby broke my water, when we were trying to get him to turn. Back labor was excruciating after my water broke, and baby wasn’t tolerating. They were contemplating a c-section, but first tried infusing my uterus with fluid. I asked for an epidural, and they also gave me a spinal. I fell asleep for 2h, woke up dilated to 9cm, and baby had stabilized. He was facing sideways, so as my feeling came back I could feel more in one side of my pelvis. Once I could feel my legs we started pushing and he finally turned. We had a little vacuum help on my last push, we both had fevers, and he spent 4 hours in the NICU on abx being monitored. I got immediate skin-to-skin, and was able to nurse him before they took him down, though. Overall, a much less traumatic birth experience than my first (urgent-turned-emergency cesarean due to significant placental abruption). My husband was right next to me this time, as Baby Ro came Earthside at 7lb 2.6oz and 20” tall.
Hello ladies! Noa Eliana Lovett was born tonight at 7:42. 8lbs 10oz 21.5". Labor was ridiculously fast. Active labor started at home around 6:15, checked in at the hospital at 7:38, waters broke on the way to the delivery room, and she came out in one push right as they got me on the bed. So glad we made it!
I was induced at 37 weeks due to interuteral growth restriction. At 35 weeks she was 4 lbs 5 ounces and at 36 weeks she was the same. So right when I turned 37 weeks I got induced. It took many hours to get to 6 cm. But it only took 20 minutes to get from 6 to 10! Started pushing 5:15 pm then at 5:23 she was born! She is my 4th baby. I have 3 from a previous marriage and this is my first with my fiance. Isabel (Bella or Isabella) Merry Matilde Granados born on January14th. She was named after 3 family members on my side and his. They said she would be only 4 lbs 5 ounces but she was born at 5 lbs 5 ounces. So I was pretty upset because she was growing inside me and could have stayed in my longer! But she left the hospital at 4 lbs 5 ounces. She's so tiny. Bella our little doll!
Our little one, Anthea Elise, came on January 5, at 9:40 PM by c-section. We went into the hospital Saturday morning for an ECV to get her turned from her breech/transverse position and when she wouldn't budge the ultrasound showed low amniotic fluid and her reading as smallish. Even though my hypertension was controlled throughout pregnancy, it had affected the placenta and it was detiorating, not making what she needed to grow and thrive. I say smallish because she came out average size for 37 Weeks 3 days at 6lbs 1 oz and 18 inches long. We were fortunate that she was stubborn enough to flip to nreevh ay 32 weeks and send up the warning signs. She knew what we didn't and I completely believe that.
Jonas Rocco, January 3 at lunchtime via scheduled C-section due to prior history of newborn injury from natural delivery (daughter had Herb's palsy and shoulder dystocia). Arrived safe and sound. Estimated weight was going to be 9lb 8 oz but was born 8lb 12 oz. We are struggling with low milk supply and nursing directly due to significant tongue, lip and buccal tie which have since been revised but we are getting better every day!
I was 1 cm dilated for 4 weeks. I was walking around so strong but had to pee every five seconds. I was 39 weeks and was not scheduled for an ultrasound until 41 weeks. I talked with my coworker and she was saying I needed to ask them about moving my ultrasound up. So I got one at 40 weeks. They did an ultrasound. Baby was estimated to be 10 pounds. So the doctor spoke to us saying we can either do a c section that night or vaginally. They warned me about shoulder dystocia due to size.
I decided vaginally. I was scheduled at induction for 41 weeks and 1 day due to the size. Well they started me on pitocin at 10. I got the epidural soon after the pitocin. I was still dilated at a 1cm.
At around 1230 ish, the doctor broke my water and inserted foley catheter. Things started to progress slowly so I wore a peanut ball.
At around midnight the next morning things started to progress. I went to 8 cm. Then i felt the urge to poop so bad. I was a 10, it was time to push. The only thing that helped was to try and poop. Anyways hr and half later my son was born. Born at 3:42am January 23 2019 8 Pounds 6 Ounces
