Re: ~~October Randoms~~

  • @kiki047 Are you doing a prep sink also? I would looooooooooove one of those, but our current kitchen is waaaaaaaay too small for it.
  • Loading the player...
  • @lillywonderland Yes, I was dead set on putting in a prep sink in the island. Although initially it was only going to be about the size of a bar sink (like 8"x10") but we have been using the bar sink in the basement for a week now and it's useless, lol. New plan, slightly bigger sink. It needs to be able to fit at least a large colander.

And I just think about how much effort I'm putting into tracking everything with no results. It's really just another way to compare myself, which I'm terrible about doing.
  • @chichiphin I *should* prolly skim over the content and just look at the usernames, lol. And I’ll prolly continue to stalk for that same reason.
  • @kiki047 ugh I am so sorry  :/<3  I've snapped at MH before about this and he is just a deer in the headlights about it.

I redid our kitchen cupboards with and they came out great. I have been trying to convince MH that I want to refinish some furniture as a side hobby.....he has not bitten yet. Maybe I can wear him down during the winter months.

  • Ladies that exercise - if you don’t go to a gym, what do you do for exercise? I haven’t actively tried to work out since college, and while I walk a lot throughout the day and am not trying to lose weight, I want to be healthier. I don’t think I’ll ever be committed enough to have a gym membership.
  • @dogmomma096 I do have a gym membership but I lift at home a lot. I have those adjustable weight dumbbells, a barbell with weights, a rack, ball, bench and a cheap 80 dollar manual elliptical. There’s an app called BodySpace and I track my workouts with that but it gives you a video tutorial and everything of certain exercises and you can filter by what equipment you have and what muscle group you want to work. Even resistance bands and a ball would be a good start!

  • @dogmomma096 I like to run/wall on the treadmill, I used to lift weights and I do yoga videos on YouTube.   I used to have a stationary bike, but I like the treadmill more so I got rid of it.
  • @brookert615 @chichiphin @holly321 Thanks ladies! I don’t have any equipment and we don’t have much space in our townhouse for it. Maybe some small weights. I would love a stationary bike but not sure where we’d put it. I’ve looked into Pilates/yoga videos on YouTube so maybe I’ll give that a try!
  • @dogmomma096 I know that the one exercise balls I got had the ball, resistance bands and a DVD. It was Pilates and I did a few of the workouts! I think the brand was Gaiam? It might be good since it doesn’t take up much space and easy to move!

  • @dogmomma096 I do a lot of running/walking and lifting. I have done some YouTube videos, too. The HIIT ones are the best (imo). I prefer going to the studio to take yoga classes rather than do it on my own.

If I remember correctly, @Sparty18 was going to do an Amazon Prime workout series (how’s it going??). Not sure if you’re a prime member or not, but it’s well worth it.

I'm not one to push myself on my own when it comes to working out so having a routine to follow or a program is my preferred method of working out.

  • Ladies, does anyone have any low-key vacation recommendations for 3-5 days in early March? Something budget-friendly, mild temperatures (doesn't have to be hot but no snow, lol), golf would be ideal but not required, Zika-free, nothing too far away (probably talking within the continental USA at this point). We did Phoenix and Vegas this year so I'm trying to think of something different for next year. My SO and I always go away for our respective birthdays. Mine is in Sept so we stick to something local but since it's the dead of winter here in March I like to take him somewhere new. I wanted to do San Diego but he honeymooned there with his ex and it's kinda ruining it for me.

  • @kiki047 I love @chichiphin 's recommendations, but Key West may be in a zika zone, check the cdc webside. and if you want "low-key" I'd avoid NOLA in early March. It will be Mardi Gras season with the actual holiday on March 5, so basically the opposite of low-key when it comes to NOLA. You would probably do well in any of the "southern" states. I'm not a golfer, but I think Alabama has some pretty good golfing.

@kiki047 have you considered Monterey? We go every year and we love it. The weather is awesome in February/March, and there is definitely golf and nice restaurants.

@kiki047  Hilton head sc is great for golf. Charleston and savannah aren’t too far either.

  • @kiki047 Wisconsin can be mild (sometimes in March). Probably won't be golfing though.

  • Thank you @chichiphin and @avrilmai!! All of those places look/sound right up our alley. His birthday is March 5th so while NOLA is pretty much at the top of our list, you're right, mardi gras is one of those things that I'd love to observe from afar but is definitely not our "scene". He's been before and has been dying to find a way back there. Added Savannah, Charleston and Destin to the list! CDC appears to have cleared FL for Zika at this time but it may be a little too close for comfort.
