**new surgery update at the bottom of the comments**
First off: We had a baby! Sydney Cora, 7lbs 2oz, 18.5 inches. Now for the story...
I started having contractions around 11pm tonight. They were way different than the BH I'd been having and were immediately feeling really crampy and intense. I started timing them and they were 5 minutes apart from the start. After an hour, I called the OB and headed to the hospital.
They took me to triage and started monitoring the baby's HR. Her HR looked good, but they said she was "sleepy" and inactive, so they were concerned. They immediately gave me IV fluid and oxygen, but it didn't get better after about 30 minutes so I had an emergency c-section. The OB said it was a sign the baby wasn't getting enough oxygen, which is why they were concerned.
I got the epidural and the c-section started immediately. The tugging sensations were so weird, but it went very well. They got her out and she looked great! However, she had pooped in utero and there was a lot of fluid with some blood in it, so the OB sent my placenta to get checked out to see what was up with it. H got to hold Sydney for a while, then I got to hold her skin to skin after they stitched me up. After they wheeled me to the PACU, I got to breastfeed for a bit, then a NICU nurse came to check her out again. Her sugars and oxygen are a little low, so they took her to the NICU to hook her up to a CPAP then they hope to feed her once her oxygen is better. Her oxygen is in the high 80s so it's not too far off from the 90s they like to see.
She's beautiful and perfect and we are so excited, although I'm kind of in shock from the crazy whirlwind. Now I hope to get a bit of sleep. I will post pics later!

For recovery, as soon as they get your catheter removed, get up and move. Ask for a belly band to wrap around your stomach. They are lifesavers, I'm still wearing mine. The big thing, is to move as soon as possible. Stay on top of your pain meds. The pain can snowball quick if you don't. That being said, you can usually move to ibprofren by the 3rd day. The big is to walk as much as possible, while still resting.

sending prayers that the results of the sonogram show something easily remedied.
The NICU doctor said she's okay. She's active and breathing, but they need to figure out what the mass is. Results of the sonogram are coming soon, and the nurse just said they can release me earlier if things go well, so I can go to Baltimore.

eta: Definitely make sure you get up and moving, the sooner the better. It helps prevent pneumonia, blood clots, keeps your bowels moving, and the more you move the better you feel (minus the actually standing up and sitting back down part). If you are sitting/laying and you have to sneeze or cough try and brace your stomach with a pillow and it won't hurt as bad. I walked around the room after DS was 4 hours old and in the halls once he was 8 hours old (dragging my stupid catheter my nurse refused to take out along with me). I didn't find the binder the hospital provided comfortable, but I know a lot of people love them. I hope you have a smooth recovery!

I can't be transferred to Baltimore after all, but they hope to discharge me tomorrow if I heal up well.
I'm currently in the hospital all by myself which is very weird, but I'm going to focus on getting some rest and pumping frequently.
We still haven't gotten results of the echo or sonogram, but hopefully we'll here asap after Baltimore reviews them and does whatever they need to do.
@mockingjay1 @wildrainbow Thank you for the tips. I got a belly band and have been up and moving around. The nurses say I'm recovering remarkably well, which is always a good thing to hear. So far I only have a little pain at the incision site, so I'm hoping to keep it at bay.

that wont be weird at all! I’m so glad to hear you’re recovering well. I remember my SIL being miserable and so out of it after her c-section. She had issues with the anesthesia though. I’m so anxious to hear what’s going on with Sydney as obviously you are as well. Try to get some rest while you can! Still sending you guys love and positive vibes!!

My husband is going to pick my mom up from the airport then take her and DD to the hospital to be there for the surgery. And he'll give me updates along the way.
It's pretty scary that my new infant is getting surgery, but I'm so happy that they may have a diagnosis finally, and hoping it's a quick, easy fix so she can be back in my arms.

She's intubated from the MRI now but they'll likely remove it today and put it back in for surgery tomorrow. I should be able to hold her today!
They said it doesn't look like any of her other organs were impacted and she'll be fine with just the one kidney. They also said babies recover remarkably well from surgery and even though it's a big incision, it likely won't have a big scar.
So happy to have a plan and finally know what's wrong with my girl!
