Re: Symptoms - October

  • Dry heaving in the shower is always a great way to start the day 🤢

  • @mrskoz428 I am so excited for you that you have a bump! I can't wait for mine to show :)

So I’m 7 weeks and earlier this week when taking my son to school I started spotting. More like I spotted once. It was a small light pink gush. Then later that day some very small cramps (which are normal and I cramped with both my other two pregnacies). Called the doctors office and spoke to a nurse and she said multiple times it really didn’t sound like a miscarriage. Since that day I feel like my pregnancy symptoms kicked in (I had no symptoms prior to spotting). I haven’t had any more cramping or spotting, but I’m ravenous. Starving all the time. I also always have to pee. I have slight morning sickness (or at least my own version of it). I never throw up from pregnancies, but if i don’t eat as soon as I wake up in the morning the instant starvation hits and makes me feel nauseous. Also I crave water all the time which is so weird for me since I’m a pop/caffeine addict lol. Oh and the round ligament pain which in all three pregnancies was my first sign that something was up...But even though the nurse had said she didn’t think it was miscarriage I probably won’t be 100% convinced till the blood work comes back and says everything is ok. The blood work would confirm that right?? Also trying to decide if I wanna tell my family at a party this weekend before I get that blood work done. Does anyone know if you have my type of symptoms after a miscarriage or would that go away? (Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this)

PG hormones can stay in your body for a few days after a miscarriage. That being said, in my unprofessional opinion, with such little bleeding you'd be looking at a missed miscarriage, and the only way to definitively diagnose that right now would be with an ultrasound I think (since the hormones stick around). My OB's standard practice is to do US on anyone bleeding/spotting, so idk.

  • I AM NAUSEATED! 🙄🤢I think I’d feel better if I could vomit but I’m just super extremely nauseated all day. I’ve had 7 children and this might be the worse I’ve ever felt. It’s all day long. I can eat. And as soon as I’m done, I’m nauseated again. If I don’t eat, if I eat, it doesn’t matter. I’m miserable. So I said all of that to say........I’m nauseated. 😞
  • @Sketner610 When I had a miscarriage I went to the doctor and they gave me just a regular pregnancy test and it was already negative. Maybe you can just take a pregnancy test at home?
  • @RoseShadow873 I actually asked about that when I spoke to the nurse, but she had said that it’s possible to continue to test positive for a few weeks after a miscarriage due to the HCG remaining in your body for a while.
  • Anyone have diarrhea or feelings like they are about to have it (then don't)? I talked to my OB today about some other breathing issues I was having thanks to a virus (yes, being hit on all sides this week) and she prescribed me an antibiotic over the phone for the diarrhea. I really don't want to take an antibiotic unless I know it's needed and she was in a huge rush on the phone so I didn't get to ask her all my questions... I thought diarrhea could be a normal early pregnancy symptom but now I'm worried I may have an infection of some sort. Any one else going through this consistently? My pharmacy doesn't have the antibiotic anyway and I'm going away tomorrow so I thought I'd wait it out...
  • @willmisspumpkinbeer hello! I had diarrea pretty consistently for at least two weeks...every morning.  It has subsided now. I took kaopectate.
  • @thebobloblaw I have been having RLP too. Twinges in the lower abdominal muscles, mainly if I move too fast while twisting. Rolling over in bed is reallll fun.
  • @lappymom2019 I love the little bump! It’s showing a little sooner than I was hoping, as I’m trying to hide it for my brother-in-laws wedding tomorrow and I don’t think that will happen anymore! Oops! Oh well!

  • @flutterflutter Thank you! That makes me feel better.

  • @kvh22 I’m not saying it’s huge by any means, but there is definitely a bump compared to what I was. Plus, I lost a bunch of weight from having the stomach flu, which made it more obvious (to me) than it was before that, even. Honestly, to most people it probably just looks like a food baby! I just know it’s not, which I’m sure is why I can tell more. I know someday a laugh at what I think is a bump now, but I’m going to love every minute of having this little bump!

  • @willmisspumpkinbeer I had diarrhea off and on a bit around week 6.  I think there might have been some talk of it in the September symptoms thread, so I definitely don't think you are alone in that.
  • @thebobloblaw @stringofhearts add me to the RLP train. I forgot how I used to curl up before coughing or sneezing and I’m right back to it now!

I'm cramping pretty bad right now. Not the first time this pregnancy, that's been a big symptom for me. But it's really worrisome. I wish it's go away.

I had diarrhea every night in the middle of the night for week 5. It subsided a bit and now at week 8.5 I'm starting to get constipated. Honestly I think I preferred the diarrhea over constipation. 😑 Hope you feel better soon!
  • Nausea started for me this week. Waves of it, especially in the morning. Eating something tends to help. And fatigue and constipation have also started. Only 8 weeks 3 days...yikes!
  • Whyyyyy has the heartburn started already this time around? 😭
  • The RLP has really kicked up a notch the last couple of days!

  • Guys. I'm farting so much and it smells so bad, I can actually compete with my dog. I'm even grossing myself out right now.

  • @k2k2tog I have repeatedly ran my husband out of the room 😂
  • @minnemiska my heartburn has been bad too.
  • Hi, my name is Malaika and this is my first pregnancy (8 weeks). I feel terrible, literally always tired, always hungry, irritable, nauseous, and drained. Is this just the first trimester blues? Please let me know ladies. Thanks!
  • @malaikalb sounds like normal 1st trimester to me! Welcome to the May BMB.

  • I’m so glad I’m not the only one who’s experiencing RLP. Or at least that’s what I think it is. I just get random sharp pains in my hip/ovary area. On both sides too... I thought there might be something wrong until I looked it up online.

Other than that I’m just exhausted and nauseous. And only nauseaous at night which is annoying. I don’t feel like eating dinner most nights, and if I do I don’t feel good after.
  • @courtster5609 that’s exactly where I get my RLP!

  • Diarrhea?! Yup. That’s a fun one 😒
  • @malaikalb that sounds like the 1st trimester to a T! Some of it will pass.

@k2k2tog I really hope so. Thanks so much for replying!
  • @mrskoz428 Thank you! I'm looking forward to all of the support.
  • I feel so useless.  Couldn’t even manage to finish mopping the floors today.  I got about two thirds of the way through and my muscles felt so sore and I was completely winded.  You’d have thought I had just spent an hour at the gym doing some high intensity workout.

@malaikalb I’m 8 weeks too and yep! you just described all the symptoms I’m going through at the moment too so you’re not alone  :)
  • Sorry to all of you having such terrible nausea...I wouldn’t wish HG or a stomach virus on my worst enemy, vomiting sucks! My ER colleagues and I almost universally agree that working through anything is possible, EXCEPT vomiting. It’s the one thing we don’t totally grumble about when having to cover each other.

Add a +1 for RLP....I can barely sneeze without feeling that twinge of pain. I’ve been so thankful for mostly lack of symptoms (mostly the nausea, TBH), but the RLP and FATIGUE have both shown up this week. I can barely keep my eyes open most evenings to put my older one to bed...last night, I fell asleep while he was watching an evening cartoon before bed and he had to wake me up for me to get him to bed! I’ve barely been able to post here because I fall asleep halfway through trying to catch up on whatever post I’m in the middle of reading! In the end, I’m thankful to have some sort of symptoms, given that I started out this pregnancy as a “beta book” patient. But, the fatigue is seriously interfering with my ability to get anything done! Namely, this lecture that I have to give in 3 days that I’m only ⅓ of the way through...yikes! Happy Sunday, ladies!
  • Suddenly everything I eat tastes like soap.  Yuck!
  • @fatmonica I had that weird everything tastes like soap thing about a week or so ago.  So awful.  Thankfully it only lasted a few days for me.
  • Is anyone else constipated ? And if so what is helping ?
  • @honeymorochdubrovsky I'm not currently, but coffee usually does the trick. Lately though it makes me super sick so I haven't bothered.
