Re: Symptoms - October

  • I felt SO bloated over the weekend. Probably due to all the crap (but delicious) food I ate. Trying to get back on the healthy eating train this week. Also, my husband's cousin is visiting from France and staying at our house. He wears SO MUCH COLOGNE I can't even deal. It fills the entire house and makes me gag.

  • I'm so tired I can hardly function.  I do not remember feeling tired at all with my first two kids.  I know I was tired with #3, because that's why I POAS, but this exhaustion is next level.  I don't know if its because I'm 11 years older than the first time, or because raising three kids is exhausting, but I'm so frickin tired.

    And nauseated. That too.
  • @secicc12 Oh no.. that’s no good. Smells have been so bad lately. DS’ dirty diapers have about been the death of me. 😷 I would be ok if I weren’t so tired. I tried to catch up on sleep this weekend when I could, and that seemed to help. I was a little nauseous yesterday morning, but I really haven’t been besides that, which I’m thankful for. I’m just not very hungry. Anyone else not very nauseous?
  • So tired and bloated. I also feel like I already have a softball between my legs. Caffeine headaches are finally gone.

  • So sick. Bloating has come down a bit, but that could be due to not being abou to eat much or hold much down. Sickness is improving a bit, but I'll be 9 weeks next week and I've heard that's when it peaks. So tired, too 😩
  • @fatmonica I’m with you on the exhaustion. I feel like that is my number one symptom this time. I’m also just feeling really sick while working out. I have to take a break halfway through to down some Tums so I don’t vomit.
  • @msb615 My SIL and my MIL (not related - SIL is my brother's wife) are the only two that stick out in my mind as not having morning sickness at all. That might just be a "survivor's guilt" thing, though, where people are less likely to share that they didn't have it so as not to rub it in? I talked very little about DD sleeping 8 hours straight through starting at 3 weeks because I felt kind of guilty she was such a good sleeper and I knew I didn't deserve any of the credit for it. Anyways, I think I posted this in the last thread but I've seen with about 90% accuracy a strong correlation between propensity for motion sickness and morning sickness.

  • @sleepy33 September took 15 years to pass, so it damn better be October!

I'm tired, nauseous, and (clearly) cranky. Changes in temperature continue to make me gag, so the weather while beautiful is awful.
  • My fatigue seems to be starting to wane, but morning sickness is starting to kick in. I am worried about how I am going to keep it a secret at work if it goes into overdrive.  I work with a lot of women so I am sure they would pick up on it quickly.

I also am soooo uncomfortably bloated and almost died trying to buy green cleaning supplies. I had to mad dash doqn the aisle because I couldn't handle all of the fragrances.
  • I'm still off and on with days of being exhausted and falling asleep on the couch and others where I'm so wired I stay up hours past my usual bedtime because I can't sleep. Also occasional sharp pains when I sneeze so that's fun. No crazy nausea yet (maybe I'll avoid it like I did the first go around?), just a random passing wave of it on an occasion. Weirdly ready to actually feel pregnant because mostly I feel pretty much normal.

  • This “morning” sickness SUCKS! I can only pray to God it goes away during 2nd trimester. Also, I’m having a very hard time wearing my normal pants at this point and having a very hard time finding maternity pants that are colored, in a size 0 or 2, that has the side panels and not the over the belly thing. I HATE tight things over my belly! I can actively tell I’m getting a bump, which makes me so freaking excited!

  •  Nausea was so bad yesterday. I was sick all morning. Went to work and felt on the edge of throwing up all day.

I'm exhausted but dont actually sleep through the night between having to pee and not being able to get comfortable.

Anyone know when its recommended to stop laying on your back to sleep? I would kinda think it's too early to be worried about that but FTM so idk
  • @bumbly_b FTM here too. I already bought a pregnancy pillow (U shaped) because I was a stomach sleeper. It keeps me on my back and side at night. Back sleeping is okay until 2nd trimester, and even then, it’s not TERRIBLE. Your body naturally puts you in the most comfortable position. You will wake up if there is an issue from sleeping on your back. However, my pregnancy pillow makes my hips and back feel great after sleeping in my side (I’m trying to train myself but I feel huge at night so it’s hard).

  • Awesome. Thank you! I have a straight shaped body length pillow that I've really like for existing back and hip issues. May have to look into the u shape as thing progress.
  • @bumbly_b yes! This is the pillow I got. It’s amazing! 😍 AngQi Full Body Pillow -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0785DLJ9Q?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

  • I was thinking I was feeling waaaaaaay crappier this time around.  They called me from the baby doc's office today to let me know my urinalysis showed that I have a UTI.  I was like....OH. that explains a lot.  *Off to get that antibiotic*
  • @flutterflutter girl, me too! It totally explained my insane back pain I was having! I thought pregnancy was just hitting hard but nope, baby gave me a UTI. Good thing I love him/her insanely already!

  • @bumbly_b I think you're supposed to stop sleeping on your back around 20 weeks? Definitely a question for your doctor but I don't believe you have to worry about it at all in the first trimester. I'm a side sleeper so never asked although I know you're not supposed to lay on your back to workout starting about 20 weeks. I got lightheaded during my anatomy scan at 20 weeks lying on my back for 45 mins and they said everyone is effected by it to different levels so it could be earlier. Right now, I'd say sleep however you are most comfortable!!!

  • I had to pick DD up from daycare - she threw up - so now I'm like "is it in my mind that I feel more nauseous or do I have her bug?" DH only has to work 80 hours in a pay period and worked 50 last week so I'm absolutely making him come home early if I get sick, too.

  • Unbelievably nauseous!!!! I feel useless most of the day and tired. I had some nausea with my first four but this baby takes it to a whole new level. No vomit thankfully, just weak, sickly, dizzying nausea. Only 8wks...  :s
  • I've been feeling like I am at the end of a stomach bug for the last few days. Seasick and gagging if I get even slightly hungry. Waking up to start my day at 4 am, which is fine since I go to bed at 8:30.NO energy. At all.
  • @kvh22 I must have missed your post about the strong correlation between motion and morning sickness. That’s really interesting. I hadn’t thought about it like that, but that does make sense. I guess it worries me that something is wrong since I haven’t felt it as consistently as others seem to.
  • @mrskoz428 I cannot wait to use my pregnancy pillow again!!! Why didn't I think of it until now?!? My husband loves it to, as he would get into it when I got up for work in the morning. I wonder if it's too early to convince him that I need it...
  • @seccic12 Ugh, men's cologne. I don't really like it to begin with, let alone while pregnant. We were still in the military when DD was born and had a friend who'd just returned from deployment stay with us in my last 3 weeks of pregnancy. His Axe body spray made our entire house smell the whole time, and I thought I was going to choke lol.

@msb615 I haven't really had a ton of nausea. I couldn't really complain much with DD either, but I think it's been even less this time. I still don't feel great, and I'm sort of apathetic toward food (even though I'm "starving" all the time), but no true blue morning sicknes.

I'm just utterly exhausted. I can't go anything for more than 5 minutes without feeling like falling down on the couch. Everything from head to toe is just heavy. I will be so glad when this passes. I'm already struggling with some sciatica pain, and my joints are really achy. I can't get comfortable at night. I always wake up heavy and with with something hurting lol. I sound more like an old woman than pregnant.

  • @liliumstargazer13 oh, this is my first pregnancy but I was a stomach sleeper and wanted as much time to train myself out of it as possible! My tried sleeping in my side without one and woke up with terrible back and hip pain! It is a God sent and my DH has NO idea it’s crazy early! 😂😂

  • @GeorgiaGirl1230 I was starting to wonder if it was just me. I don’t know why I’m too surprised because I didn’t really have symptoms at all with DS first trimester either. I just worry about anything. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve also had the super tiredness, achiness, and not being able to get comfortable at night. It’s awful! Pregnancy pillow does help, but with DS waking up in the middle of the night, I just don’t feel like there’s enough room for the pillow too. 😩
  • @bumbly_b you can sleep on your back all throughout pregnancy if it's comfortable for you. Occasionally if the baby is in just the right position when uour uterus gets bigger it can put pressure on some main veins but you will notice it pretty quickly, as you will be dizzy, out of breath, and feel like you are going to puke.

  • Thank you all for the pregnancy pillow reminder. I may be digging that out tonight.

Currently hooked up to an IV for fluids. Also down 6 lbs in about as many days. Is it 2nd trimester yet? 😭
  • @koala_in_the_rain I wish!!! 😭 Sick of constant nausea.

  • @flutterflutter and @mrskoz428 add me to the UTI party (woo.) Haven't really had any symptoms because my bladder is fucked up from nerve damage after Baby #2 (FTMs, don't fear, I'm a freak of nature and it's super rare), but my urine culture showed elevated white blood cells, etc, so yayyy antibiotics.

  • @brie_and_almonds my white blood cell count was totally normal (and I had been exposed to the stomach flu at that point) but my urinalysis showed bacteria >100, nitrites, and squamous epithelial. I had to call them and inform them that I thought I had a UTI because they hadn’t checked my lab results 2 days after I got them.

That's so funny, cause I totally thought they were going to tell me I had a UTI right after I saw my test results, but they called me on Friday to say that my platelet count was crazy high and I would have to have it retested. Then they called me again today to say I also have a UTI.

  • Dear god the nausea. My NP wrote me a script for zofran since the diclegis doesn't seem to be working. I really hope something helps or I won't survive our trip this weekend.

  • A bit TMI. Sorry! I'm one of those crazies that has to um.. groom myself before appts. It's been a while so it took a lot of moving and bending. Add in a full bloated belly that was already a bit nauseous and I totally puked... So that was fun.

  • @mrskoz428 I have the back pain too! I can definitely relate! I'm wondering if I'll feel a lot better after the antibiotics-- something to look forward to!

I'm so sorry that you and @brie_and_almonds didn't get the news right away though 😑  Here's to a speedy journey toward  healthy urinary tracts! (I'm not so good with outros.)
  • @nopegoat LOL. I don’t mean to laugh. That’s quite the image, though. I’m totally with you on grooming before appointments.

  • I'm relatively symptom-free during the day but then every single night I'm hit with a low-grade fever (99.3 - my normal temp is 97.4), chills, nausea, headache, and full body aches for 2-3 hours. So much different than my previous 2 pregnancies where I was beyond exhausted all day, every day and was never hungry/always nauseous. I checked the other symptom board but didn't notice anything like it. (i'm totally going to be that person i hate)...... please someone tell me this normal?  :D  :D

  • @nopegoat oh you poor thing 😂 I only laugh because I could totally picture myself doing the same exact thing lol
