Re: Oct 2018 FET

  • Thank you @purplg8r & @hereforthebabies! I haven't heard of those foods being helpful, are they? This is #6 FET in 16 months, so I'll try anything :)

Yay @purplg8r - it'll be here before you know it! Is 4mg twice a day what you'll stay on? I find it interesting that docs do, mine is 2mg, three-times a day. It's a lot to keep up with lol
    **History in Spoiler**
    Me-35, DH-36 - TTC since 08/10
Me - anovulatory, non-Insulin PCOS, DH - low end of "normal" sperm count

       IVF#1  - 08/15 - 13x5-day blastocysts (ranging from AA-BB, most are 5 or 6), not PGS, on ice

  • October is here!
@Bababatty, yes will be on estrace for  4 weeks, i think they did to match their schedule, just like the BCP, hope it won't mess anything up, So 1st week was 2 pills and day and on wednesd 9ay it will be 3 pills a days now. so far so good, no symptoms really.
Ladies on estrace is it important to take it at the same hour like BCP? because the last 2 days i was pretty late, I'm just curious...
@annielmartinez welcome to the group and sorry you found yourself here with us but we hope we will be a good support! and good to have a OBGYN in the group!
And I thought we had more october birthdays than that when when I check the calendar it shows only @ndz2018 birthday. where are my october birthdays ladies at?
Welcome back @roisis! hope you had fun and got some good rest too! sending you bloody vibes your way so you can get this party started!
welcome @laurenc52! that's a lot of embies you got, congrats! and speaking of being jacked upon estrogen I was on BCP for a month and will be on estrogen for another and will start PIO on the 19 then will also have progesterone suppository on Transfer day, so we're in the same boat my friend!
GL on your transfer tomorrow @wishing-and-hoping! y'all probably won't hear from me until night time, I started my busy week at work and will try to post at least once a day
congrats @MamaK225 on the great transfer! this board is getting exciting! yay!
@suzycupcake and @ndz2018 I say the same thing! that we're parents of 9 kids! so amazing!
@purplg8r looks like you're gonna have a busy week with u/s and BW, FX that all roll perfectly!

  • @MamaK225 i'll be on estrace 2mg 3 times a day starting wednesday too, right now I'm taking it twice a day and it's already hard to keep up with it

    @wishing-and-hoping
I use the mobile app. So maybe that's why.
I can only afford 1 try. So I don't know if there is anything I can do or ask the doctor to make sure I don't just waste it.
I feel my last cycle that I did iui for didn't stay cause of progesterone. Doctors disagree as I had a previous pregnancy with no progesterone support.
What is the normal support meds after  transferring? I worry that they think I don't need some when I do.

I guess it is just very scary in the end.
  • @Bababatty
I did ask them and they said I am healthy and not over weight. Also asked about AMH and they said they don't test when they can see that the ovary reserve is not low.

    @MamaK225
Congrats and hoping the 9 days goes by super fast ❤️
@wishing-and-hoping good luck with your transfer
  • @dan-g i understand the stress and anxiety when you feel like it's your only chance to get pregnant. what was the reasons that your RE gave you then if he thinks it wasn't progesterone, which he might be right, I'm just curious. I have unexplained IF so i don't why i'm not getting my BFP :( I had a m/c on a natural pregnancy my OBGYN said it was because of low progesterone but my RE said it was probably an abnormal embryo, so go figure. GL to you!
  • @roisis "AF WATCH 2018" is back on for you  ;) ! Hope you had  nice relaxing holiday!!! Also Happy Anniversary!!!

@Laurenc523 Welcome to Oct FET! Congrat on your 13 frosties!! Did you guys do PGS testing too??

@wishing-and-hoping Is today you FET?!??!?!  If so, sending you lots of positive vibes and sticky thoughts!!

@Bababatty Your FET is on 10/4, right? So excited its on my birthday!

@suzycupcake Congrats on your 11 frosties!! That awesome! Are you guys doing PGS testing? I forgot. I'm thinking my FET will be at the emd of OCT too :)

@purplg8r What does your clinic like your lining to be at before transfer? 8? If so I thinking with upping your dose you'll be there by next week no doubt!
  • happy anniversary @roisis! and GL on your transfer today @wishing-and-hoping keep us posted !
  • @wishing-and-hoping  Sending you sticky baby dust for today!!
  • @MamaK225 Congratulations on being PUPO! FX!!

    @wishing-and-hoping Good luck today!!

@dan-g Your RE or your clinic should have at least walked you through the medications you would be taking during an IVF cycle. A lot of clinics require patients to attend a class. Progesterone supplementation is standard with IVF, but if you’re doing a FET then I don’t know if you would take it during an IVF cycle. I’ve done fresh transfers with both IVF cycles so always took progesterone.

@ndz2018 It is! I’m hoping it’s auspicious with your birthday vibes!

@roisis Come on AF! Bloody thoughts your way!!

AFM My clinic let me do the bloodwork today instead of tomorrow so that’s a relief. Just hanging out until Thursday....

i cant remember who asked about Foods, but I’ve typically done pomegranate juice and pineapple core (I blend them together which is yummy and easier to eat the core) and pumpkin seeds. I’ve never had a successful transfer—TW but plenty of CPs—so take that as you will. :)

  • Woo-hoo - @MamaK225 - Transfer already! Congrats on being PUPO. Best of luck in enduring the TWW - do you have any specific plans to keep yourself occupied?
    knottiee829c and @wishing-and-hoping

Thank you all for the bloody vibes and the anniversary wishes!
My call from my RE was quite a relief today - the karyotyping showed no genetic issues with either me or DH, and I had no significant markers for any APS or serious clotting issues. The only thing that came back was that from a ROTEM test (he described it as a holistic test of coagulation) I have a slightly lowered elasticity in clotting - so if I get pregnant I'll have to take heparin for the first 12 weeks. I remember that being quite stingy - but hopefully it's a worry in the future :)
So now to make a super-rosmantic meal for my super-sweet hubby <3<3<3

@roisis Awesome that those tests came back with nothing serious NOW we can move forward, COME ON AF! Does it give you some peace of mind ?? Have fun for your anniversary!! Did hubby cook? or Are you guys going out? Either way I'm sure you're celebrating with sun kissed skin and drinks in hand!

@MamaK225 How did I miss you are PUPO?!?!?! CONGRATS DOLL!!!

@Bababatty It's a wonderful day... I used to call it National Me Day but I suppose I can share it with you and your embryo  :D:D:D j/k I will putting you and your embryo in my birthday wish... that everything goes perfectly!!

  • Can't believe October is already here!
@wishing-and-hoping and @MamaK225 - starting us off strong with the first transfers of the month, can't wait to hear the good news start to roll in!
@roisis AF WATCH 2018 continues... all the bloody vibes your way..
@ndz2018 I can't believe things are finally happening for you, FX that Friday looks good
@purplg8r My clinic likes lining "between 7 and 8," the closer to 8 the better.
@babydust2507 My clinic said most meds should be taken around the same time everyday, and they really make sure to emphasize the meds that DEF need to be taken at the same time everyday.
Good luck to all the upcoming transfers this week!

Does anyone else's clinic have them do the estrace vaginally?

I have my 5th HCG test Thursday to see if my levels are at 0 yet. I will be so upset if I have to wait another week. I don't even know when AF will come, and I worry that at this point I will be in November FET. I was spotting a little last night, and I usually spot like 4 days before AF arrives, so with any luck my levels will be 0 and then AF will arrive right away! Wishful thinking ..
  • @roisis - Just trying to keep myself from POS until the Beta. *TW failures* After 5 failures over the last 16 months, I'm just telling to keep occupied *TW end*

@wishing-and-hoping and @knottiee829c - congrats on being PUPO! Baby dust and hope your TWW goes by super quickly :)

Can we talk progesterone? This is always the hardest part. I have had the strangest crazy dreams, sore boobs, AND bloatedAF. Men have it so easy. LOL.

  • @MamaK225 OMG the tatas, they are SO. SORE. DH loves that the progesterone makes them bigger, but I’m just like hands-off, bucko. Taking off my bra at night is excrutiating and a relief at the same time.

@knottiee829c Congratulations on being PUPO, too!!!
  • @ndz2018 Thanks. We got 6 frosties today on day 5. There are 5 more in the lab that they don't think will make it to blast by tomorrow, but I'm holding onto hope. We really want to donate what we don't use so the more the merrier. Yes, we are doing PGS and should know the results in about 10 days.

@roisis I'm with you on AFWatch2018 :) That's an awesome PGD report. Didn't know they could determine what you might need during pregnancy. That's insane. Happy Anniversary! That's so sweet you're making your husband dinner.

  • @MamaK225 yup!  Looks like I stay on that through 11 weeks of pregnancy

@babydust2507 my RE just said to take the estrogen between 6-8am&pm

@ndz2018 yup!  They like to see 8. I’m hoping it goes up because it’s never been that thick (through 3 iuis and ER)

@Bababatty I’m glad you were able to do your bloodwork today!

@roisis I’m glad your call was a relief!  And I hope you had a great anniversary!

@Griffin5413 yay!  Thursday will be here before you know it!

@leilee101 I hope your levels are at 0!  I had to take Estrace vaginally for my IUIs. Definitely wear a panty liner and expect leakage that’s the color of the pill (mine was blue so that was fun)

@wishing-and-hoping @knottiee829c thing of you ladies!!
  • Wishing you all the best @wishing-and-hoping, @knottiee829c, and @MamaK225!!!!

Congrats on your 6 @suzycupcake! Hoping for great news from your PGS results :)

So hoping you're at 0 this week @leilee101 and that the spotting is a good sign for AF coming! Hang in there <3

@leilee101 thank you! I guess I'll email the nurse to tell her that I mess up again so hard to stay on schedule! I hope I'm still in the game. I'll be taking 3 times/day now starting tomorrow, hope I'll do better with that. And Spotting is a good sign! so maybe your HCG is already at 0 and it will take few days to reset so AF can come. can't wait to hear about your Thursday appointment !
Happy pupo to you all @MamaK225, @wishing-and-hoping and @knottiee829c! it's getting exciting!!! let's the fun begin!
  • Hello everyone. I was missing for a few days and had to catch up on all the new post....

Welcome to all the new ladies to the group!

@MamaK225; @wishing-and-hoping; and @knottie829c...My fingers and toes are crossed for you all. Sending good vibes your way.

To everyone with upcoming transfers I will be thinking positive thoughts for you too!

@ndz2018 ... I think that is great that you would donate. It was something I considered but my DH was against it. Also, it just didn’t work out that we had enough to even consider.

Happy Birthday to all the October babies in here. I believe this will be an amazing month!

I had my first monitoring appointment yesterday 10/2. I’m on target with estrogen level and lining is 6.5. Also doing acupuncture once a week. Will do acupuncture right before and after my transfer. Start PIO shots 10/11. Not looking forward to it but as you all know, we do what we have to do. For now, transfer still planned for 10/16.

Frustrated because this is the first time I have some insurance coverage but finding it it doesn’t cover much. Going back and forth with insurance on whether they will cover my PIO because it’s a compounded medication. This is the difference of $165 OOP for the entire time I would have to be on PIO (if I get a BFP) vs almost $900 OOP.

For the 2ww in the past, I rented movies that make me laugh and happy; eat pineapple core; keep feet warm and do an acupuncture session one week in. This time I will add Brazil nuts and pom juice.

Thank you ladies for all your support. It’s nice to know you’re not alone in this.

Thinking of you all ❤️ 🤗

  • @cscronce - Welcome and congrats! Something to consider: I developed sensitivities to the medium that the PIO (sesame oil), so my doc actually switched me to the the Progesterone suppositories because my insurance - which doesn't cover sh!t anyway - was going to charge me ~$900 per 10-shot vial of PIO because it was a compound. My 30-day (90 pills) of Progesterone was $10. It's messy, but ... totally worth it.

Ladies, have any of you researched the Benadryl protocol during FET? I was planning on bringing it up to my doc, but Mother Nature beat me to the punch so I'm doing it anyway ... got the dosages cleared by my RE that it was safe since I'm dying ova hea. (Stupid ragweed!)

  • @babydust2507
Also maybe bad embrio but they don't know.
They recommend IVF cause of the amount of meds needed so rather make sure the egg is good.
When I went for a scan after Mc there was 2 corpus luteum cysts and the ob said it was trying to sustain a pregnancy but could be progesterone but could be bad egg. It's sucks not knowing
  • @Bababatty
I am sure they will explain the meds on my day 2.
Hoping for AF on the 8TH.
I will insist on progesterone if he thinks no. Cause I really feel the last MC was due to short second phase or lower progesterone

The amount of meds needed to get that egg was crazy. Even needed estropause to stop bleeder etc. So would surprise me.

    Thanks for your reply
  • **Waves at @kristimh80** Hey Lady!!! Lovely to see you checking in on us! hope we all join you very soon on the other side <3<3
@cscronce Yay for being on track! Sounds like you've nice lining going on there :) I always have last-minute panic for monitoring appointments - where I don't *think* I'm going to get bad news and then I suddenly think 'because I didn't think that - then of Course I'll get bad news....' if that makes sense?
@mamaK225 I'd never heard of that before, I had a quick look and it seems rather confusing? Do you need to take anti-histamines for allergies - or did you just want to add it?

@kristimh80 YASSS Lets hope we all cross over to the other side this month.

@roisis That sounds like a perfect anniversary dinner(s) to me :) enjoy it! you deserve it.

@cscronce That's @suzycupcake that was talking about donating her extra eggs. I am totally going to as well. We have 5 PGS normal embryos and 3 mosaics and there is no way at 38( I'll be 38 tomorrow) I plan on having more than 2 kids so whatever is left after that I will be donating hopefully another couple could have a child from our extras :)

@suzycupcake Any word on the 6 other embryos??? FX they all made it to testing!!!

@Griffin5413 YAY another FET on my birthday!! Hoping it brings you and @Bababatty lots of luck!

@leilee101 REALLY REALLY hoping with all my hopes your levels are finally down to 0!!!!

@MamaK225 I have no clue about the protocol with Benedryl added to it but if you find out I'd, personally, like to hear why and the benefits of it.

  • @kristimh80 - OMG, YAY! I'm so happy for you!! :) Was there any change(s) in your protocol(s) that you attribute to its success? I feel like June/July was a pretty dismal month on this board, so I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful result! <3

@roisis & @ndz2018 - The thought behind it is with all the meds, it stirs up a histamine response in your body and that impedes proper implantation. So by taking the Benadryl, you calm down that response and increase your odds of a successful pregnancy. I just found the theory interesting because I have had some strange immunoresponses over the last few attempts that made me think it's a viable idea. Unfortunately, autumn is my heavy allergy season so I don't feel I'm necessarily "experimenting," but just giving myself some relief and kind of hoping it has an added benefit of helping the little guys out. Side note: Benadryl ALSO has a slightly sedative effect to it (I have been taking it now for about 3-4 weeks, so it's not as strong as it was in the beginning) that helps tame the anxiety I've felt during the build-up to the FET and the TWW, and it helps me fall asleep easier (because I'm not worrying). I'll let you know on the 10th if I'm going to give it any credit of helping with the embies.

  • @wishing-and-hoping 13 DAYS?!?!? That is long!  I think mine is 9dp5dt. Do you plan on doing HPT? If so, when will you start testing?
  • @wishing-and-hoping and @knottiee829c - yay for the being PUPO. Now for the dreaded 2ww!  I love that they let you put music on in the room!
@suzycupcake - hoping all make it to testing! I am impressed that you guys are donating! While I don't want 4 more kids, I really struggle with the idea of someone else having my baby. I would probably feel different if they were just my eggs and not already fertilized.
ndz2018 - same to you about donating. I kind of feel selfish for not doing it but I just cant imagine walking into a store seeing a boy or girl that looks exactly like my son. If I don't get on tomorrow, Happy Birthday!!!
@MamaK225 I have been having the strangest most vivid dreams this week. I totally forgot about that but now it makes sense!  Also, I have never heard about the benedryl theory! I'm so interested to see what they say about that.
dan-g - not knowing is the worst! I don't think I ever realized how importance Progesterone is to a pregnancy before all this infertility journey. hopefully that's an easy fix for you though. Even if you had to remain on it throughout the pregnancy, it would be so worth it in the end.

  • @wishing-and-hoping that is so cool they let you listen to music, I bet that has such a soothing effect! Wishing you the stickiest embryo ❤️ And I know what you mean about it falling out lol. The analogy they gave me that put my worries at ease was the embryo is like a grain of rice between two pieces of bread covered in peanut butter - it ain’t going anywhere 😉
@mamak225 oh the dreams! That was such an unexpected side effect for me. Craziness every night. Wishing you a peaceful tww my dear!

@MamaK225 Thank you!! Only thing I did different was the cycle before had an ERA. It came back responsive, but possible the scratch helped some. I also added baby aspirin when I started estrogen just for something different. I did go into it this time positive and wouldn’t let any negativity around affect my attitude. It was so different than my April transfer.

  • @wishing-and-hoping - That is probably the best story I've ever heard of an FET #mcdonaldsandavalium ... Love it! And just like @wishiwaspreggo said, it can't fall out. I mean, think of AF, if things could just "fall out," it wouldn't last for 3-5 days, right? It'd just fall on out. I like the gummy bear analogy better. :)

As far as everyone else: who else is up to bat this week? I'm getting excited with all these FETs happening. It's keeping me from being tempted to POAS. I've also been Amazon-surfing because I told myself I was going to buy a mini-fridge for my office when I get a positive Beta **TW pregnancy mentioned** I only gained 20 lbs with my last pregnancy, so was hoping to keep this one under 30. **TW end** Just keeping my mind busy and positive thoughts until then ... baby dust and FX for all you guys!
