@brie_and_almonds I was hoping it the pregnancy gods being kind to me for #3 and letting my anxiety ruin my first trimester instead of "that bubbly feeling in my tum". The evening stuff is awful though. Basically all the symptoms I would have during the day bottled up and then released into a few short but very miserable hours.
@haboobjob it probably shouldn't, but it makes me feel better that you're at least suffering a little.
Also, lately I've been having a strange "rice crispy treats" feeling in my tum, and I feel like I kind-of understand what that chick in the intro thread was talking about... which is a whole different level of disturbing.
I’m having major digestive issues this week and not sure if it’s a virus or pregnancy related. But after I eat anything, I have the runs 😳. It’s really uncomfortable and I’m queasy too. I’m also extremely exhausted (especially after eating as well) my 2.5 year old had also mentioned having a stomach ache and he had a poop accident at school which never happens anymore so I’m wondering if we have a bug
Nausea has returned for me. I enjoyed my day off from it. Right now i can't sleep because my hips and legs ache so deep. Why does restless leg get worse during pregnancy?
Fatigue is hitting me hard in the evenings. I’m not nauseous this time like I was during my first two pregnancies, instead pretty much all day my stomach feels unsettled (almost like a hangover) and nothing sounds appetizing until I get super hungry - and even then the list of things that do sound appetizing is very limited. The only thing that has consistently felt okay to eat is cup o’ noodles. 😂 The bloat has gone down a bit for me too now. @expandcontract that sounds miserable. I hope you get some relief soon. 😞 I woke up with achy legs today but I think it’s because I haven’t been getting as much exercise lately as I’m used to.
@nopegoat I am totally the same way! Thankfully (or maybe not so much since I’ll be bigger by then), I don’t have to do that until beginning of November. It may be a crap shoot!
My all day nausea has turned into vomiting within minutes after eating. I’m taking b6 in the morning and Benadryl at night as per my doctor. The Benadryl made me feel like i was on speed last night and i was up for hours. I’m so tired and exhausted i was nervous to drive this morning. This did not happen with previous pregnancies. Part of me wants to be happy because everything I’ve read says it’s usually a good sign. But i need relief. End rant.
Ugh, the nausea, I feel you ladies. I did NOT have this nausea with my last pregnancy. I felt right as rain. No symptoms to show aside from having to pee and craving meats during first tri so this is a real treat now. I'll take the nausea if it means a healthy baby, of course, but blargh. It still sucks.
I get RLP when I sneeze, too. It shoots down my abdomen to my inner thighs. A taste of what's to come during 2nd tri and onward. I may need to check in with my chiropractor again in a month or two.
I let a friend of mine borrow my maternity clothes during her pregnancy and I'm excited to get those back again when I see her this weekend mama needs some stretchy clothes! My pants are already a little tough to button and I'm only 5w3d. Good grief.
@wishiwaspreggo I had so much nausea with my son, but I've been throwing up SO much and I'm pretty sure I only threw up once his whole pregnancy.
And I don't have any of my maternity clothes from last time (which wouldn't fit anyway because I've gained a lot since then) but I have been wearing leggings every day since about 5 weeks (8 weeks now).
@journey721 I recommend taking a unisom sleep tab with the B6 at night. That's what I have been taking and it helps with the nausea so much and helps you get some sleep! Hope things get better for you!

I just got a call from my OB and they want me to start Synthroid. My Thyroid activity is under the normal levels (I've been borderline for a while now). Anyone else on it? Should I expect any unpleasant side effects? I'm nervous to start it for some reason!

@zuuls_mom I have not taken it. However, I have a lot of family members who are on it. I think you'll feel better once you're on it. I know that hypothyroidism can cause or aggravate depression.
Soo nauseous....all day, every day. I thought it may be my prenatal vitamin so I started taking those at night rather than the morning. That hasn’t seemed to help 😒 Food never sounds good so meals are always a struggle to get something down.
New symptom this week. Ocular migraine. Anyone else have this pleasure? It’s been going on about 24 hours. So much pressure and pain behind my right eye. Along with nausea that makes it impossible to keep any Tylenol down
So am I the only one taking diclegis and/or zofran for the nausea? They're both category B, so they're not really scary meds to be taking. Diclegis was the only way I made it through the day today. I'm testing out zofran tonight.
I vomit every morning as soon as I wake up, but it’s kind of awesome (if you can refer to vomiting as awesome?) because I don’t have anything in my stomach except bile, so as far as bowing to the porcelain goddess goes, it’s a fairly innocuous experience. Except, lately I’ve been gagging after eating food too and it’s just a force of will that has kept that food down. I hate puking.
Also, during my last pregnancy, my pelvic floor definitely deteriorated significantly which has lead to painful twinges in my legs. I’ve started feeling some of those twinges again. So... I think this pregnancy is going to cause me to completely fall apart.

@poshspice I haven’t tried taking anything but my nurse suggested 50 mg of B6 plus Zofran. I may have to start because it’s getting old fast. Had to skip a meeting after school because of it today. Barely made it through the last hour of the school day!
so far, it has been breast tenderness on and off, nausea, exhaustion, funky smells, and in the last 3 days, vomiting and some gas and constipation starting. just picked up a stool softener.
@zuuls_mom I take generic synthroid for thyroid issues and have for years. Low thyroid function is not great when pregnant but the meds are an easy fix. I took it all through my pregnancy with my son at gradually increased doses, then back to normal afterwards. I’ve already had my dose increased once this time around as I was able to see my endocrinologist before my OB.
@expandcontract I’ve read before that Benadryl can sometimes have a stimulant effect for certain people. It definitely does for my daughter. I tried taking it the other night since I’ve had such terrible insomnia and it just didn’t really do anything. I wasn’t wired, but it didn’t seem to help me fall asleep faster either.
@poshspice I'll be requesting a script for diclectin at my appointment on Tuesday - one of the downsides of having such a late appointment is that I have to wait so long to get anything to help.
My last pregnancy, I still vomited every morning, even with the meds, but felt fine for the rest of the day. Whenever I skipped it, I paid for it, right up until the last couple weeks.

I'm so nauseous. GOing to the grocery store is the worst. I get so sick everytime I go now.

@poshspice I’m on Diclegis RX too, I started yesterday and today feel so much better, still slightly nauseous but it’s not debilitating anymore! I worked a whole shift today with minimal nausea I’m so relieved! For breakthrough nausea I’ve been eating the preggie pop drops with B6. Hope you feel better soon!
@zuuls_mom I have been on synthroid since I was 14. They upped it now that I am pregnant and probably will again. It is a synthetic version of a hormone your body already produces so you shouldn't have any side effects from the drug itself and it should help you feel better. When they upped my dose, my fatigue diminished a bit. The only warnings I have is you can't take it with your vitamins because it can't be taken with calcium and also it has to be taken on an empty stomach, which is really brutal with morning sickness. I have been spending the last few mornings trying to distract myself from being sick.
@honeymorochdubrovsky totally! Brushing and flossing is the pits (I still have my wisdom teeth) That's what usually makes me finally throw up or almost throw up in the morning. While I usually brush my teeth in the shower, I'm starting the rethink that...
@expandcontract - my restless leg was keeping me up the past two nights. I normally take a boatload of calcium/magnesium for it and it had helped pre-preggers, but seems to be going out the window now. Not sure if I should up the dose? I'm going to ask my CNM this Friday.
@zuuls_mom my RE put me on synthroid. I get tested next week to see if they need to change the dosage. I am not on it if I am not pregnant but seems to go a little out of wack when I am. No side affects, but like @lappymom2019 said, you have to take it on empty stomach with a full glass of water and wait about an hour to eat. They are little pills so they are easier to swallow.
Also, during my last pregnancy, my pelvic floor definitely deteriorated significantly which has lead to painful twinges in my legs. I’ve started feeling some of those twinges again. So... I think this pregnancy is going to cause me to completely fall apart.
Ditto!!! My pelvic floor is totally wrecked. I am worried what this pregnancy is going to do to me now I have very poor bladder control as it is (after my first). I think it was the adrenaline-fueled pushing with my first because the brought in a gurney to rush me to the OR to have an emergency c-section. I panicked and by some force of God managed to evacuate my son just in time.
But now my body has been paying the price for the past 3.5 years. Once I'm done making babies I'm gonna work hard to get my body back in order.
@wishiwaspreggo I had to change my underwear after my puking session this morning - no bladder control here either. I think I'm going to seek out a pelvic floor therapist after this baby is born and see what I can do to fix myself. My mom ended up with surgery when she was 45 to correct her pelvic floor and something related to her bladder and I really want to avoid that.

@k2k2tog - I bought myself Depends during 3rd trimester my last pregnancy... I couldn't hold it anymore it was so embarrassing. And uncomfortable. I'm with ya 100%. Yeah, a friend of mine is a postpartum physical therapist but she lives cross country. I'm definitely seeking one out after this. I may do the bladder sling surgery, though, if I can't fix it naturally.
@minnemiska@lappymom2019@bpietronicco thank you all for the info/tips! I took it this morning for the first time and it was a bit tough waiting over 30 min to eat something since I felt so nauseated, but I made it through! Just need to make this part of my morning routine now.

This nausea and fatigue is becoming unbearable. I left a little early from work today because I was not functioning. I am thankful everything seems to be moving forward and feel guilty for complaining but ugh.
@brichanelle I get Ocular Migraines during my pregnancies. I first got them before I was pregnant but since my first, I only get them during pregnancy. It's scary because I am so worried it will happen while I'm driving my kids. I have always managed to find a parking lot to chill in for 30 minutes while they do their thing. I've found if I try to relax and breathe I dont usually get the headache with them. The first time I got one I freaked the eff out and went to the ER... thought I had a tumor or something! They did a CAT scan and found nothing but sent me to a neurologist to follow up who told me what they were. Hope you dont get many more and I'm avoiding them so far!
Guess whose asthma is acting up again. I don't want to have to take the 2nd round of steroids! 😢
Oh no! Your description sounded so scary last time. Hopefully it doesn't get so bad you need the steroids again.
I may have missed it but how bad is everyone else's acne right now? I have always had hormonal acne (right before my period) but I forgot how bad it is during the first trimester. I think it's a combination of the hormones and not being able to use my salicylic acid face wash. Cetaphil and witch hazel are not nearly as effective.
@kvh22 thank you. It also doesn't help that it's 87 degrees and humid today! This past weekend they just turned off our A/C for the season. Im praying for no more 80+days this year.
